Yasunari Kawabata (川端 康成) was a Japanese short story writer and novelist whose spare, lyrical, subtly-shaded prose works won him the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1968, the first Japanese author to receive the award. His works have enjoyed broad international appeal and are still widely read today.

《雪国》给我的感觉半梦半醒似的，时而有母性的温柔，时而有妓女的冷漠。主体为男性对女性的需要。《岁月》真实却有种慢慢窒息的痛苦感。主体虽然是女性，女人们却像带着枷锁一般……

Every time I read Japanese literature, it makes me feel 女性として背筋が伸びる気分である。どこか世を捨てた雰囲気を醸し出す、虚無感というのか、そういう男と懸命に女として生きる女性のやり取り。どこか距離がある2人の関係像が雪国という背景にマッチした作品。

很喜欢《雪国》。驹子是在偏僻寒冷的山坳里奋力绽放的花，岛村经过了她的生命，驻足，怜惜她在无人问津的地方迸发着生命力，是为“徒劳的美”。感觉看川端康成需要心境，我还在上学的时候就看不下去觉得这都是啥。现在成为了社畜，日复一日间对徒劳就有些共鸣了。第一次读不太理解叶子，无论是作为人物还是书里的作用。她是看穿了驹子的徒劳，不想那样活着，因此想离开雪国吗？去了东京，也未必不是雪国。哪里里不是雪国呢。
《湖》… 我努力地试图和人物共情而不是去评判，可是真的很creepy。银平真的也没什么坏心，在町枝腰带上挂萤火虫感觉很美好。想表达我很丑但还是向往美吗。但真的很creepy。

Don't know if it's the translation lost the meaning or I just don't get it. HOw come I can't get the feeling of the characters. Their dialogs are very difficult to grab the emotions under it.

虽然这本书里好多句子都真美，真正地能让你觉得这句话蕴藏着现场的冷艳，特别好听。可问题是，这两个故事和故事里所有的角色我都不喜欢。不太适合我。我感觉这些故事不是含有啥深意或意义，而只是描述世上的一些让人觉得反感的人。可能我不懂，还值得看。

故事很短，但是很耐读，并且比想象中的有趣。有种川端版《挪威的森林》的感觉。
