A god without a hero is nothing. But a hero without a god might save the world…if they can survive the gods.
The land of the Greek gods is in danger, weakened after centuries of infighting between the Hunters of Artemis and the Amazons of Ares. When one of Apollo’s oracles discovers a prophecy threatening the end of Olympia itself, enemies must band together in order to stop a destructive war before it begins.
But how can mere mortal heroes from opposing sides of a long, bloody struggle for power ever hope to save the world? Because it’s not just the looming conflict that threatens their cause – the gods all have secret plots of their Poseidon seeks a throne, Artemis the control of Olympia, and Ares wants to destroy the Hunters once and for all. And they will stop at nothing to gain their hearts’ desires…
The heroes must put aside their differences, unravel the gods’ web of deceit, and discover where their own allegiances truly lie if they are to save not only Olympia, but themselves.

This is a compelling and interesting take on greek mythology. I liked the continuous shifting between characters, it helped me get a sense of what was going on. If you like greek myths and want a more lowkey fantasy that's still thought out and layered, this is a good book for you.

This was an interesting plot, with likable characters. The writing was a big juvenile still and needs some editing still, but over all it was cute and I think a younger reader would enjoy.
I thought I was incapable of liking Greek Mythology Books but this book proved to me I was definitely capable. I am addicted to this genre now. Olympia has this certain "IT Girl" effect. I was immediately drawn into the plot and I couldn't stop reading. It was fast paced, had just the right amount of Action and a lot of moments you kept up all night thinking about.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 👥 When it came to characters there was a beautiful mix. Every God had a hero and you gotten to know the Hero and God POV throughout the book. I was also happy about the fact that there wasn't a massive amount of gods yet after the destruction. I have a hard time getting used to many important characters at once so it didn't overwhelm me. It made me feel secure in my Reading Experience.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 5 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀? ⭐ I was contemplating between 4.5 and 5 Stars but this book impressed me. I wanted to give it a try because I never tend to go for Greek Mythology books. It was a hit or miss and it definitely turned out to be a hit. The Plotline of Chaos and The Story plus the additional mortal world was captivating and I surely will think of this book for the next couple of days. Even if you're totally new to this genre, this book is worth it! 5 Stars!
Olympia was a very fun read for me. It's a Greek mythology retelling where the gods have been long banished, finally returned, and are now resuming their same old power struggles with human heroes as their proxies. But there's a twist: Ares, the god of war, is actually a goddess in this world. Gender-swapped Ares! Did you hear me? GENDER-SWAPPED ARES! I loved it! What makes it even better (and funnier) is Ares has always been female; she just can't seem to convince mortals of the fact. When she said "I keep telling men I'm a goddess, but somehow, they can never see me as anything other than male," I was like... yeppppppppppppp
(where do you get the hubris to mansplain war to the God of War. asking for a friend.)
Ares' chosen hero is a Mexican girl named Alexandria, and the other heroes are all young women as well. My favorite character was probably Sophia, Artemis' hero and the leader of the Hunt. I really enjoyed watching all these strong, complex women with competing goals vie against each other. Good stuff.
this had everything that I was looking for, it had a great overall concept and I enjoyed how the story worked with the Greek mythology elements to this story. The characters were perfect for the world set and I was invested in the story. It was a great start to the Chronicles of Chaos series and I enjoyed how it was written.

I want to like it, but I found the story rather dull and blank. While I understand the impulse to write about you own gender , however I find it unnecessary to change Ares gender. War is cruel and evil, so why must your give the god of war a female gender? The pacing needed work and the descriptions were lacklustre. I didn't attach to any of the characters very well either. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't
Very interesting it wasn’t what I expected but it was so much better. It’s filled with action and mystery and just all in all a riveting read everyone who enjoys Greek mythology should read.

I enjoy a Greek mythology story. The gods are always messy and its fun to read about. The banter and the manipulation tactics passed on from the God's to their chosen heros was fun to witness.
I LOVE THIS BOOK and it's also incredibly special to me for many reasons, soooo... I need the sequel ASAP and a re-read to annotate is likely coming in the future XD
I couldn’t possibly just review The North Guard without also reviewing its book 1 which is Olympia. I started reading Olympia before The North Guard, but ended up finishing it after I binged The North Guard. Either way Eva Grace knocks this Greek mythology retelling out of the park and I am here for it (in both of the books).
Her Chronicles of Chaos series throws you between so many characters and you get hooked on them all for differing reasons! I don’t like them all, but man I need to know what will happen with every one of them.
I definitely recommend reading them in order. However it was amazing none the less and a unique take on the Greek mythology with some twists involved. This book lays the foundation you want and really need for The North Guard, and all the chaos (hah pun intended) that ensues isn’t just happenstance. The concept of betrayal and pain and manipulation is riveting when you consider oaths and the price for failure and breaking. Plus factor in the heroes are all mortal it makes you see the danger in the games played by the gods and goddesses.
I loved the mythology, and the concept of two realms/worlds where everything exists but is interconnected. The heated dynamics of so many characters sucks you in! The multiple points of view gives you this in-depth connection to the characters thoughts and feelings, but also lets you see sides missed by others in this epic fantasy. Plus you again have political maneuvering, war, betrayal, and redemption. You get strangers to lovers, family to enemies, and some slow sweet romance. There are allegiances and struggles for power that felt straight out of mythology in the perfect way.
I enjoyed Olympia just as much as The North Guard and I definitely recommend Eva Grace’s Greek retelling for those that enjoy mythology!
