Find out when cynical hearts collide, and a love that was written in scars begins to bloom.
Adriana Brinne, is a new author who fell in love with reading from a very young age but never felt brave enough to share her words with the world. Born and raised on the enchanting island of Puerto Rico, Adriana’s tropical upbringing imbued her with a deep appreciation for beauty and storytelling. By day, she navigates the world of computer science as a full-time tech, but when she’s off the clock, she indulges in her favorite contemporary romances written by her favorite authors and binge-watches The Big Bang Theory.
Adriana’s writing is characterized by her love for sweet and spicy romance, soft yet strong female protagonists, and grumpy heroes who secretly adore them. While she delights in exploring a variety of romantic tropes, she steers clear of themes involving cheating or death, preferring to craft stories that evoke all the feels without those heavy dark elements.
Wow!! Adriana 🔥 Poe and Azariel are even more than I could've imagined. The raw depth, intimacy, love, hunger, yearning, and chemistry between them were sizzling! The spice was 🧎♀️🫦 I was gasping and giggling because Gawd Dayum, these two are kinky! Thank you so much for the ARC 🥹❤️ You're writing is gripping and magical, and i can't help but smile every time I read it ❤️
Azariel Solonik 🫦 This man is dark, twisted, and obsessed with his woman 🔥 Tall, handsome, mysterious, billionaire, grumpy, secret stalker, possesive, has a secret, crazily in love, has a soft spot for only his family and his woman, can't live without stalking her and will do anything to lay the world at her feet 🥹 At first, Aza seems unaffected by Poe, but then we see how deeply affected he is by her, and how deep his love runs 🔥 When I say I want a dark romance with a man seriously obsessed, I want Azariel 🥹 He literally is the best boss and man any girl could ever want 😋 Aza fulfilled Poe's and my fantasy, Ghostface mask 🔥
Poe Nicolasi James 🔥 Beautiful, intelligent, sassy, fierce, brave, a romance author, billionaire, loving, kind, possessive, protective, and in love with her grumpy man since their childhood 🥹 I adored her so much and she made me incredibly proud. Poe is extremely annoyed to walk into her meeting with a publishing house to find her new boss is the one man who has her heart but would never let her have his 😌 If Aza thought she was going to fall at his feet now that he's giving her, her dreams, he has another thing coming 😂 She makes this man work for it and the chance he's always secretly wanted 🥹
I can't get enough of them 😭 When I tell you, they made me cry. Their pasts, especially Aza's, were full of sorrow, pain, and suffering. But it was magical to watch him finally take that step towards the girl he always loved but never thought he was worthy of 🥹❤️ Their hea was one that was truly deserved ❤️
After such a long time, I finally got to read this book I’d been looking forward to for what feels like forever, and wow, it was everything I hoped for and more. Seriously, I was so excited for this release because anyone who knows me knows that Fallon and Kadra from The Unholy Trinity series are two of my absolute favorite books ever. Those characters hold a very special place in my heart. So imagine my surprise (and full-on fangirl meltdown) when I found out that their kids, Poe and Azariel, would be the protagonists of this new book… I mean, come on. That’s like the ultimate gift for fans of the series.
From the very first page, I was hooked. The chemistry, the tension, the humor, everything just worked so perfectly. The book is hilarious at times, full of laugh-out-loud moments, but it also doesn’t shy away from deep emotional layers. It’s sweet, it’s romantic, and it absolutely honors Azariel’s past and all the pain he’s carried with him throughout his life. The way his character is written just broke my heart and healed it at the same time. And seeing Kadra again? A total queen, just as fierce and lovable as ever. Their dynamic was everything I wanted and more.
What I loved most was how much heart this story has. There are lessons in there that hit hard. There are lines I had to stop and reread because they resonated so deeply. I could see pieces of myself in the characters, and that kind of emotional connection is rare. I finished it with tears in my eyes and a full heart. It’s one of those stories that stays with you, that makes you think and feel long after you’ve turned the last page.
I honestly feel so lucky to have been one of the first people to read it. If you’ve read The Unholy Trinity, you need this book in your life. And if you haven’t, what are you doing? Go start now! This world, these characters… they’re unforgettable. This book was pure magic, and I’m still not over it.

Adriana's writing is stunning and got me hooked from the first chapter.
The characters are wonderfully written : complexed, broken but so beautiful in their humanity... It's refreshing to see characters so... normal, so relatable. They're perfectly imperfect and I loved every single second of it !
Also, Poe and Azariel's love story ? A masterpiece ! It had everything : the angst, the beauty of their love, the spice... They were everything and I'm sad to let them go now that the book is over.

This had a lot of potential but it ended up being hard to get through. It didn't need to be as long as it was, it was so repetitive and the last 30% dragged so much I was close to a DNF. The use of past tense when they were speaking in present tense was grating and there were a few consistency errors, one example being he calls her baby and she's shocked and think to herself how he's never called her that before but he did a couple of chapters before. As someone who has social anxiety like the FMC I felt like some of the MMC's gestures to be mortifying and incredibly cringey.
This beautiful love story was so well written! I loved Azariel so so much. Where do I get me one 🤣 I loved how complex were the characters, beautifully broken and beautifully completed each other. I loved how each of them owned a cat that represented the other and OMG their cat conversations were hilarious 🫣
This book was beautifully written with the right amount of detail and so much angst. I absolutely recommend reading it!! Thank you for the ARC opportunity 🙏🏼
Poe and Azariel have the sweetest but quiet romances.
She may have been a romance author, but he was a romance mastermind, once he knew he wanted her. Azariel knows romance and how to woo his woman, he is down bad for her; like the depths of hell bad.
I loved how they made their own special brand of love without conforming to what is expected of love.
🦊IMAGINE TO BE A WRITER AND HAVE HIM TURN INTO REALITY WHAT YOU WRITE 🫣🫢!
💙Poe James, is a romance author but she doesn't believe in love 🫨. She is hired to write a dark romance trilogy. But she didn't count that her boss would be Azariel Solonik, who had broken her heart in her past 😬. Azariel will push her to the limit and make her write what he wants and how he wants.
💙I have to admit that I liked the book from beginning to end. It's a comic book but with a touch of Dark Romance 🖤.
💙Adriana Brinne did a great job developing the story and connecting the characters. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a dark comedy romance. You will see a possessive MMC falling in love for her 🥹🥰 & doing what he needs to do to have her. 🖤
