MISLOVED: Toussaint Mafia Book Three

Rate this book
“Who said you couldn’t be happy today?”

Those were her first words to him.

Words that had the power to transport him back to a time long forgotten and rekindle emotions he had buried deep within. But who told her she could talk to him like she knew him? Didn’t she know he was the son of the Don?

Ossa was insulted.

Then he was intrigued.

Glowing brown skin, long locs with a smile so pretty it made him want to match her energy. Imani was like no woman he had met before.

Making him ask himself, could he keep her?

As the son of Carlos Toussaint, Ossa carried his obligations. The mafia couldn’t operate without him, and there was no room for love in that world. Ossa was fully aware of these realities, yet the light Imani brought into his dark existence awakened something in him that he thought perished with his mother.

However, Imani embodied everything his father warned him against. It didn’t help that she was an opinionated single mom that brought out a softer side of Ossa. She wasn’t welcomed and it would become very clear to her once she stepped into the world of the Toussaint Mafia.

This marks the third installment in the Toussaint Mafia series, introducing ‘Misloved.’

“You still riding?” 🥰🥰 A Love Language 🤎🖤

There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to love Ossa and Imani’s story and they did not disappoint. Imani was the self assured sister in law that you couldn’t help but love and respect. She stayed dropping gems to the Toussaint sisters In MISGUIDED and MISBEHAVED and they valued her opinion even when they really weren’t trying to hear what she was talking about. Ossa knew it was something different about her from their very first meeting and loving her became just as natural as breathing. FOR ME, It was when Tokyo told Imani…… “He looks at you like you brought love into this world just for him.🥰🥰 I just couldn’t get enough of these two!

Despite knowing Ossa and Imani’s “endgame” this did NOTHING to tamper down my anxiety waiting for ish to hit the fan. Knowing that Ossa’s back was up against the wall wanting to marry someone that wasn’t apart of their world and Carlos trying to block their HEA tap danced on my last nerve. If I had an ounce of redemption for Carlos 🗣️WHICH I DIDNT!! It does not exist after finishing MISLOVED.

🗣️Carlos Toussaint count your MF DAYSSSSSSS. The way anger and rage burns deeply in my soul behind this man is unreal! Like he wins the award for sh*ttiest book parent EVER and we’ve read about some doozy’s 🤬😡🤬😡 And when I saw who he was trying to marry Ossa off to 😳😳!!! 🗣️She belongs to the streets *Future voice*

🛑 POSSIBLE SPOILERS🛑

Things that would have taken the story to the next level.

▪️Us being able to read on page Juan and Janet’s reunion. The build up of their story and Bonnie and Clyde history had me wanting to read about the first time they saw each other when they reunited and what that was like for them.

▪️Carlos being the one behind the shooting. Yea I know he’s trash so it wouldn’t have surprised me because I was thinking it was him anyways. I just knew he was trying to sabotage Ossa and Imani even further.

▪️Ossa going to his grandfather to let him know what Carlos had up his sleeve regarding Janet. It was clear at the end that Ossa went to Juan for some type of help but I would’ve like to read that on page. What was that conversation like? Juan is CLEARLY the boss of Carlos so I wanna see HIS daddy bring him to his knees.

▪️Editing could’ve been tighter. It was good but there were still noticeable mistakes that had me swiping back to see if I misread certain parts or if a new character was introduced to the story that I overlooked.

That ending!!!😳😳😳 didn’t see that coming AT ALL!!! Lawd Toussaint’s put your antennas up 🗣️YOU CANT TRUST HIM!! I enjoyed book three in this series A LOT and can’t wait for MISUNDERSTOOD!

I really liked getting the background to Ossa and Imani’s story. I was on edge like I didn’t know they would end up together. lol I was trying to figure out how. I can’t wait for Misunderstood.

Again, I need Carlos unalived within the first 5 pages of Misunderstood. I can’t take any more of that scum.

Ossa 🖤

3.75 ⭐️ It was cool to see how Ossa and Imani came to be. Ossa was everything and I loved how strong & independent Imani was. She held her own against his sisters. I do think certain aspects of the story felt dragged out in the beginning. When I got to around 90 something percent, I wondered how this all would come together. Then it happened. Quickly.

I’m still waiting anxiously for the next book. Carlos Toussaint should really be counting his days..

This is the story I didn’t know I needed. I’m so glad that you blessed us with this, as Ossa is so important to the family. In the previous books, we learned how the absence of their mother Jazmin had impacted the girls’ lives, but to understand how the loss and absence affected Ossa was heartbreaking! 💔 His mother was the only one who allowed him to “feel” and dream! she fed him with her words of encouragement, and love. Without her his life became dark, and lonely. 😥

Miss Imani for the win! Although she had gone through some thangs in her life, she pushed forward and came out on top. She is a boss! Outspoken, smart, and didn’t take ish from anyone! Learning of her grandmother’s illness, and having to go back to Urban Crest, has her feeling a way; but she does what she must. Her mother Vanessa was a piece of work! Why won’t these damn daddies speak up for their children, when they momma’s talkin’ crazy? Ughhh….. 🤬

Ossa and Imani together felt like a spiritual experience. 😇 The immediate connection they had toward each other, the ease they felt in each other’s presence from the very beginning was beautiful. ❤ In the other they found peace, comfort, safety, and the love that they were deprived of from their parents. Ossa was smitten at first glance, and he was determined to keep her in his life. Imani had Ossa’s back every step of the way. He didn’t know how much he needed her support, until she started asking him, “we still riding”? I loved them so much! ❤

Lawd that damn Carlos! I have never wanted someone to die a slow and painful death, more than this mf here! Whew I can’t stand him! 🤬😡🤡

Juan Toussaint and Janet Lee. Why didn’t we get that reunion? 👀 I sped up my reading anticipating it, and was a bit let down when it didn’t happen. 😤 However, I gotta give Grandpa Juan his props for giving Ossa that assist at the gala. I was sweating bullets trying to figure out how Ossa was going to get out of that sham with Tallulah.

That ending! What you say? 👀 I never would have thought this person had a connection to THAT family! Was he a plant all along? The Toussaint’s better keep they head on a swivel, cause some ish bout to go down! I think Ossa may know or feel something, as he has been keeping this person at arm’s length, but we shall see. Also, Auntie poppin' up out the blue. What does she know? Can't wait for the next one! Amazing work Miss Dominique! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Ossa

This series has me in a chokehold. Issa Toussaint has had his heart hardened following his mother’s demise. With his time at becoming the Don coming he is being pressed to find a wife. Carlos “For The Family” Toussaint is determined to get things done his way but when Ossa meets a loc having, firecracker, single mother plans change quickly. I absolutely loved how Imani wasn’t scared to speak up for herself no matter if it was Tallulah or Masami. She didn’t take anyone’s crap. Her mother was a real piece of work. Jealous of her own daughter smh. Is it too soon to ask for the next book?? 😂😂😂

Misloved: Toussaint Mafia #3 is about Ossa Toussaint and Imani Lee. So let me preface this review with letting ya’ll know I love a good prequel!! If you’ve been reading the Toussaint Mafia series and wondering about big brother Osaa’s story, look no further!! It’s here! Perspective is everything, you get a broader scope of the family from Ossa’s lens. Ossa is the underboss of his father Carlos Toussaint the Don of the Toussaint Mafia. Carlos is a piece of work, if there was an award for egomaniacal narcissistic dad of the year he got it!! Imani is an entrepreneur, she owns a body butter business. She’s raising a teenage boy post-divorce with an uninvolved dad - you know how that go. She’s going home to Urban Crest for the first time in years to see her ill grandmother Janet Lee, her maternal figure (her mom is alive and well but she doesn’t have a maternal bone in her body). Ossa is also in Urban Crest to see about an ill grandparent, his grandfather Juan Toussaint. Two unsuspecting individuals cross paths and you can only call it divine timing. A love story that ended decades ago helps spur a young love and gives it a fighting chance. Ossa felt so different from his sisters, more open and vulnerable to love although he’s deny it. Imani is the perfect match for him. She was not grown and born in the mafia life but she’ll go toe to toe with anyone and that’s just what he needs. Both characters have been misloved but not this time! This time they riding with each other! The story started slow and steady, really laid the groundwork for the back half of the story. That ending though! I’m ready for Misunderstood! So many twists and turns, I’m trying to put all the pieces together. I’m definitely going to reread books 1&2!

Wow!

This book was so good. It was really good read Ossa story. He is such a man of many words and I loved it lol. The way that he treated and loved Imani really touched my heart. I glad that he was able to find true love! His father is such a B****, I cannot stand that man, he is so evil. Omg I loved the fact that Grandma Janet got him man back babyyyyyyyyy yessssssss 😂😂. She was not playing and definitely put her daughters in their place when it comes to her love life! Dominique never disappoints Good Boo 💗.

Good read

I was always intrigued by how Ossa and Imani became one, the connection was unexpected. They definitely had a beautiful love story. I love how Imani didn’t take mess from anybody, especially Ossa’s family and her pitiful ex -husband. I can’t stand Carlos, like he is really tyrant. Tallulah been a thirst bucket 😂😂. Couldn’t stand Vanessa either, no accountability on her part as a mom and she’s very judgmental. Overall, good read a few grammatical errors but it didn’t take away from the story. Can’t wait for the finale because
babyeeee that ending, whew!!

Carlos Toussaint still be around is a travesty😩😂

I was team Imani and Ossa before reading this book, but after this- I’m definitely all in with them. I adore Imani and being introduced to Janet- I see where she got it from.

Those sisters continue to try my nerves, especially Masami. I don’t like her, she’s too much like her raggedy father.

I’m anxious going into the conclusion, but excited to see everyone get the ending they deserved. Especially to see Carlos handled.

Enjoyable

There's a special place in hell reserved for that daddy because whewschitt!! I loved getting to know Ossa, and I love the way he loves Imani! I enjoyed reading this book and getting the back story on Imani and Ossa. Previous books reveal their current relationship status, so this book for me was all about the journey, and it was worth the ride. So ready for Misunderstood!!

Loved it!

This well written book flowed well and definitely kept my attention Carlos Toussaint really irked me my nerves and I wouldn’t have cared if he took his last breath. The relationship between Ossa and Imani was intense and loving and I was glad when Juan took over and approved of their union. Juan and Janet is proof that you can have a happy ending. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Amazing Read

Wow, Ossa and Imani’s story was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. They had such a strong bond and sizzling chemistry. This story gave us the opportunity to know even more about Ossa and his family. It gave us even more confirmation that Carlos is trash. I love this series and can’t wait to read the next installment. Ms. Dominique Thomas was standing on business with this story. I can’t wait to read more. Awesome job!

I love this series. However, this book was sooooo out of order. It seemed as though the author said...oh snap, I should give the brother his story too before the next phase. This was the story of Imani and Ossa, the only son of Carlos. It was a little strange in that it seems their story was first and the others evolved. I loved how he loved her and Kashton. I wished we had leaned more into the pregnancy. Really want Misunderstood to roll through.

Good 👍🏽

I didn't enjoy this as much as the previous two books only because it was very much a flash back that we already knew the outcome too, I wanted to skip and get back to where the story left off but I felt like it would be worth it incase there are some missing peices to the puzzle and there were some precious life lessons to take away so I enjoyed the inspiration provided and I can't wait to read the next one

Soul Ties X's 2

I love the series but Ossa's story is my favorite. I'm glad to have gotten to understand the intricate details of his and Imani's relationship . I can't stand Carlos Toussaint even more . Domnique wouldn't be herself if she didn't leave me craving the next installment. Let's go Misunderstood.

Banger!

I could not put this book down, no matter how hard I tried. It was a great read, and I'm even more excited for the next book. The only downside is I don't want the next book to be the last of the Toussaint Crew. IT'S SO MUCH UNSAID. that I think we need a few more books for closure 🤭

The Toussaint Family has my heart . Each book makes me love them, not daddy, and understand them more. OSSA ❤️ this guy is that dude. I loved how he's hard, protective, but understanding. And the way Imani came along and steal his whole heart. Dominique is in her bag.

While I enjoyed the story I'm sure I've read it before, only some parts were taken out and others were changed. I don't want to say too much because this may be a remake and those things may be in the next book.
