My brother has been missing for four years, and nobody seems to have any concrete answers. Was he abducted? Did he run away? Is he even still alive? The small Texas town of Uncertain, known for its Bigfoot sightings, is a place where fact and fiction are often hard to distinguish.
As I navigate through the rumors and legends surrounding my town, I refuse to give up hope that my brother is still alive. But my biggest fear is now a reality; every new lead I find only brings me closer to the possibility that my brother may never come home.
With my family and friends by my side, I embark on a heart-wrenching search for the truth, but what I uncover may be more than I’m prepared to handle.
Everywhere I look, I see someone begging me to write about them. Even my husband’s dreams inspire ideas about new books! My critters each deserve their own book and will probably one day get one!
Join me as I create scenarios that could happen to anyone… and probably have. Maybe me, maybe you.
I have had the honor and pleasure of reading all of Kristi's books. She never ceases to amaze me. Her writing turns fiction into what feels like reality. Incorporating real places into her books, as well as characters that are inspired by people she knows. The places feel like your hometown and the characters, your friends.
Brooke and Troy are "Lost in Uncertain," still coping with the loss and disappearance of their loved ones. Uncertain of what to believe as true, their support of each other, and that of their friends is what ultimately helps them discover the truth.
Are you prepared to discover the secrets that the bayou is hiding?
Jackson, Troy, Annie, and Addison went camping. The couple separated and Troy and Addison heard a gun shot. They ran and both Jackson and Annie were gone. Three weeks later they found Annie’s body. Four years later and Jackson is still gone. Brooke is Jackson’s sister and wants answers and she made a promise to her mom to find them. With the help of her friends and the new sheriff Troy they start looking for answers. Can Brooke find out what happened to her brother? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I absolutely love Brooke and her strength. Amazing supporting characters. This book has sarcasm, twists and turns, and a great group of friends. Go grab this book now
I absolutely love all of Kristi’s books. This one had me frantically tapping my kindle screen while saying “I need to know what happened!”
This story is about a small town called Uncertain in the bayous of Texas. I myself live in a bayou area & loved the small town feel. Brooke wants answers & she’ll do anything to find out what happened to her brother Jackson. Is he alive? Is he hurt? Is he….she can’t even think it.
The mystery was great, the characters were great, & I absolutely did not expect that ending. Also….bigfoot? Is there a Sasquatch living among us?
Kristi Copeland once again enchants her readers with her latest book. A truly emotional journey seen through the eyes of a woman searching for her long lost brother.
her and her boyfriend, her brothers best friend and his girlfriend (his friends sister) went to the bayou camping. they heard a noise and the brother and his girlfriend went to see what it was. they didnt take the gun
they heard a shot, the boyfriend went to see what happened. he fell and his leg was pierced. his sisters body was found 3 months later. they never found the brother
3 yrs later , the sister comes back into town. she wants to know what happened to her brother (the other chapters show he is in a cabin with a wounded side. hes not strong enough to get back to the road. he found someone left him a skinned rabbit to eat)
the sheriff at the time didnt really look into the case. the friend, his son, is now the sheriff. he doesnt want his son looking into the case
the girl tells everyone in the small town shes trying to find out what happened to her brother. a boy who had (and still has) a crush on her is helping her
the brother had a voice recorder in the cabin. when he thought the sheriff was there to save him he turned it on, but the sheriff was trying to kill him when he killed his own daughter. he killed him and left him in the cabin but the whole thing was recorded so when his son heard it he arrested his dad and he was put in prison where he belonged

I almost didn’t finish this book. The story itself was fairly interesting, but the characters were a little lackluster. The writing, especially in the first half, seemed stilted and difficult to follow; I kept thinking it would have benefited from a different editor.
I enjoyed the supernatural aspect with Bigfoot, but I wish it had been more vague throughout. The confirmation toward the end kind of ruined the excitement and mystery for me.
I also think it could have benefited from less POVs. Brooke, Jackson, and Troy were all that were really needed.
Overall, it wasn’t a terrible book, but I don’t think it was fully fleshed out or edited well. I wavered between 2 and 2.5 stars.

The word daddy is used so much in this book its almost unbearable. I almost didn't finish because of that. It is used 251 times and the book is only 215 pages long! The book heavily involves fictional tall tale characters. I'm unsure if I missed it, but I did not expect that in this book. I did not expect Bigfoot to be considered as a suspect in the crime. I probably wouldn't have read the book if I knew, as that was a bit too far fetched for me. The weird plot combined with the insane overuse of daddy makes it a 2 star for me.

Jackson’s days healing and starving in the cabin were terrifying. I followed along as his friends gathered clues to solve his disappearance and got to try to solve the mystery myself. I wondered if it was actually him sighted in town. The small town and bayou setting felt as real to as another character.
I met Kristi in Pittsburg Texas at a Festival recently. She autographed the book I bought from her “Lost in Uncertain”. Since I live in East Texas not far from Uncertain, I thought this would be good to read, especially loving Mysteries! This was a great book and loved the characters and the mysterious story. Will definitely be reading more of Kristi’s books!
I found the jumping timelines and narrators very distracting. Also, it took way too long to disclose anything of value - the suspense was dragged out unnecessarily. Since there were 4-5 narrators, it was also difficult to connect with any of the characters. Most times, I wondered where the story was even going. This is not the best book I've read this year but also not the worst.
I really enjoyed Lost in Uncertain by Kristi Copeland. It was very different from my normal read, and I loved that! I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for something that has quite a twist!
LOVED this amateur sleuth mystery novel. Set in a small-town bayou area - there is lots of friendships, connections, secrets, gossip, etc. The closeness of the friend group was one of my favorite aspects.
Tropes: small town, secrets, mystery, missing person, betrayal
