Transported to another portion of the world, Larek must find a way to get home….
After the disastrous events in the Kingdom of Androthe, the powerful Fusionist has arrived in another part of the world. Not only is he alone and unsure of where exactly he is, but now he has to navigate the strange Sealance Empire, paying off his debt toward its people that he incurred just after arriving. However, if he can journey across its expanse, he can finally return to the Kingdom where his family and friends he left behind are located.
But getting back home is easier said than done. Not only is it an incredibly long distance away, requiring months of travel, but the appearance of Apertures that occurred in the Kingdom just before his departure has apparently spread throughout the entire world, no longer being contained to his homeland. As the people of the Sealance Empire struggle to combat this new threat, Larek will face his own difficult challenges in his efforts to journey home.
Will his ability to create powerful Fusions be enough to see him through? Or will the fact that he has been gone a lot longer from the Kingdom than he expected be his downfall?
This weak-to-strong MC story contains LitRPG elements such as character progression and statistics, as well as a heavy crafting emphasis. No explicit sexual content or harems.
I loved the first book!!! I am half way through with this book and am really frustrated. I have read many different books with crafting is the joy of the MC. The are good at and level quickly with great description of how and when etc. Almost half (it felt like it to me) of this book book is fusion. More leveling and some traveling which he does fusion along the way. Then more fusion and more and what his thought recesses are and what ifs... I finally just got tired and starting moving ahead with hope of less fusions and more content. Nope, I really think this can make a great story. Just less down time crafting. Its like a cook describing how to slice everything and how everyone Will like it or not or if you added more spice but then that Person would like this and some people will probably like that so the cook has to refine the other spice. And you get five minutes of finally getting to eat. ARGH. As I said I am almost half way through and I am done. 😶😶 Good luck with the series.
Larek is on his own. He is far from home, over two countries away from where he started. While this is a fantastic opportunity to start over as a marshal and train. He does need to get back to his home though to find out what happened to his friends!
This was an interesting entry to the story. In the previous books, Larek was supported by his friends. For the majority of the book, he is on his own. It’s an interesting way to force him to grow. Miles Meili does fantastic narrating.
Stories have three tools to keep our attention: plot, characters, and character relationships. This book only has plot. Which makes it dry and dull, like a collegiate textbook. Not recommended.
Very engaging with fun characters. Good for young adults ( and old adults ) who like fantasy based literature. I’m going to immediately start reading the next book.
Larek truely alone for the first time must find a way back to his friends an family .
Larek is thrown in to a distant land another kingdom from out of a void that time deposited him 4 years later instantly it seemed to him . With out knowing where he was he must navigate a way back home to his kingdom an find his friends again . recommend reading excellent series .
This Author did a Dr K ending on this book which really upset me. This story of a logger becoming an enchanter was a very interesting entertaining read. At the end of this book, his girlfriend was somehow demon bait. Great story nonetheless.
I enjoyed reading this book very much and I recommend this book to anyone who likes LitRPG and progression types of books with lots of action and other systems of magic.
Enjoyed reading this book. Except that I don’t need to know exactly how he creates every single fusion. Which is basically just rinse and repeat. Put in different reasons hear and there. And finding old girlfriend who doesn’t know why she’s there. Really!!! I like the fact he’s actually being a little smarter and less trusting. But couldn’t he get the lizard martials to teach him a few tricks. Like how to even hold a sword. And why 4 years into the future??
I like the series, but the fight with the demons and really from this point on is where the author seems to have forgotten how vengeance is supposed to feel, which is why it loses a star from my POV.
The demons wronged him so badly that he felt the burning need to destroy all of them. Totally get that, no issues. But the demons that are capable of more than 1 track minded killing as shown by them trying to take over the world in a relatively cunning manner are suddenly all just mindless mobs only capable of being mindless killing machines. No talking. No fleeing. No hesitating. Just "I'm going to attempt to kill all life however I can". It's dissatisfying as hell. It's like swearing vengeance on a wall that fell over on you - sure, maybe something needs to be done about it, but it's not something to get angry about.
In too many instances, Lerek is simply reacting to the actions of others. He is forced into one situation after another, like heading to the Academy, being sent away to the 2nd Academy, captured by enemies (twice!), and more, including being thrust four years into the future. In Global DifFusion, Lerek takes more control over his destiny and everyday actions. Sure, he's still pushed into lots of situations, but that's all part of a Hero's journey. Now, he's headed back home to get more training for his Martial side. And he finds an old friend in an unlikely place on the way back. Great book for all ages. Zero typos that I could find! 9/10 unicorns 🦄 🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄. FYI, that elusive tenth unicorn is reserved for those special books that grab me by the eyeballs and don't let go until I finish the book. This one was close!
This has been my least favorite so far. The overall plot eventually builds, but execution was flat and often times lazy. Plenty of new systems were added to the story, but they struggled to align with the magic system established in previous books - it's like concepts were made up as a convenience to the author of slowing down progression (again), not as actual new discoveries. There were many times where I felt AI was doing the writing.
I did like the story progression towards the end and the newer characters towards the end.
Disappointment. More filler than plot movement. Became stale quick.
Very minimal plot movement overall in this book. More about self-discovery for the main character, but at an incredibly slow pace. It created plot holes and inconsistencies that made the character seem ridiculously stupid at times. Overall book 4 seems like a stale filler to try to move the plot along. A disappointment.
WOW, what an interesting and intense story. Really great story line, with enough geek-out explanations for even hard core LitRpg fans. Sorry Jonathan I skipped over a lot of stat sheets an long explanations and rushed on with the story. Sill love the book and series that I have added it to my library so I can reread when I want too. Which I have reread the first three books twice. Keep writing and I’ll keep reading.
I continued to enjoy the crafting aspect of the series (only reason I finished this book). It was good to see more of the world, but it is becoming much more darker than I'm comfortable with. The lack of side-characters from earlier books made it more difficult - there's a very valid reason why they were absent, especially with an additional reveal early on in this book, but I wish it wasn't so.
I really enjoyed reading book #4 of this series! I like the way the story really moves along, it was very hard to put down, but long enough I had to sleep! :) The ending was very satisfying, the MC is likeable and is showing definite growth as the series goes on. I'll be excited when the next one comes out!
I barely wanted to continue after book 3, and I should have listened to my doubts. Writing continues to be sloppy. First 70% of the book is irrelevant at best and boring at worst. Main plot does not advance in any significant way. All the one dimensional secondary characters are gone from this volume and, no surprise, it makes no difference.
Well written, but gets bogged down in stats and details on fusions. Latter part of the book moved better, but still not enough to raise my reading experience over a 4. Still, the story is interesting and the MC has progressed enough to keep me interested, so we'll see what book 5 has to offer when it appears.
Larek finds himself creating more inventions with his magic, including a way to cruise across the desert. Of course, it everything goes perfectly and he finds himself fighting more monsters than seems possible. Yet he seems to win out in the end. Will there be a celebration in the next book?
This story is so well written that you will not be able to put it down! Having read the first five I had hopes that the wait for six would be as good. The six book really holds you in its grasp from start to finish! This is a magical survival epidemic! Should you decide to read this tale please start with book one. Its well worth your time!!
The story took a big turn (can't say more without spoiler) and the world got much bigger. The main character finally had some real personal growth, though the most of the other characters remained single-dimensional. But I'm still enjoying the magic system and the action.
Lots of growth in this book but also super boring. Slipped entire pages. Quality of writing went down. And then without spoiling too much, the last chapter is so poorly written. I re-read it 3 times and still was confused about where the name came from. No description matching it was previously said.
Stop series farming the books and actually care about quality.
I was very disappointed with this book. The focus was almost completely on discovering new fusions and then using them against endless monsters. I skimmed through a lot of pages, hoping to progress to something more without any success. I would love to see the MC reunited with the rest of his team, but I am unclear if I will invest the money and time.
Larek is slowly getting better. He can still be a bit tedious sometimes. The amount of visual and technical details can be somewhat long winded but the world and features in general are still interesting.
Please stop using the word anyways because it is not a proper word anyway does not need to be plural because it is already plural and it is already singular it is slang used by lazy authors and stupid people it also gives me a headache
Simply put. If you liked the first books in the series, you'll probably like this one. The MC is growing in his abilities, but also as a person. Pick up this series, now.
Well Larek story put you through a lot of Actions as He runs and travel from one adventure to another he meets a lot of people on his way Home and saves lots of lives. Unfortunately who knows how the author will end his life good or What???
Definitely an improvement over the first 3 books. MC is still a bit whiny and dense, but this book had some awesome battles and a lot less of the MC getting taken advantage of and kicked around. I have high hopes for the rest of the series!
