A Full Course: A Memoir & Cookbook

Rate this book
A Full Course is an inspiring look at the incredible challenges and victories faced in the life of the author, Lucille Gay, who grew up a sharecropper's daughter in the Jim Crow South. The memoir tells of her childhood in Eastern North Carolina, moving to embrace the Great Migration, migrating back South, and enduring spiritual and emotional heartbreak during her husband's losing battle with cancer. It is a story of courage, determination, love, and faith in the face of challenges and tragedy. Lucille interweaves stories from her life leading up to many life-changing moments as well as some of her favorite life hacks, recipes, advice and scripture for coping, surviving, and living victoriously afterward. She lastly sprinkles the story with some of her kitchen recipes as her faith in God and her love of music and cooking were creative outlets that helped her live victoriously and hopefully helps someone on their journey.
