Peacemaker Wars #3

Foundations of Glass

Rate this book
The road between the stars was paved in platinum ore. But as Mark Tudor is about to learn, the cost of justice is paid in blood.

And no one is truly safe.

Gyl Mareth’s Rot corrupts the Guild, and Mark means to cut it out at the source. To do that, he’ll have to lobby powerful supporters—spindly, blue aliens, toads infatuated with buearcracy, and maybe even an influential bartender or two.

But help is there for an honorable man to find, as long as he’s got the strength of conviction, and the right kind of friends.

Disturbing the established order will mean kicking over a fair number of rocks, although Mark, Valint, and the others might be surprised by what scurries forth underneath—and what uniform it’s wearing when it steps into the light.

Mark Tudor will make the title Peacemaker mean something once again, but to do that, he’ll have to face the worst the galaxy has to offer.

Death waits in the quiet moments.

And sometimes, it is a soldier’s loved ones that pay the greatest price.

Great read...

I am enjoying getting to know Mark Tudor better. Just a little bit that we got to know him in the other series as Vans grandfather, This is letting me understand a lot of the things that Mark did that Van didn't know anything about. And that was locked away in Perry. I can't wait to get to the next book in this series.

Another amazing installment in the PMW saga. Great action and character development. Story moved along swiftly and I was through the book before I knew it. Highly recommend!

ANOTHER GREAT BOOK IN A GREAT SERIES!

Foundations of Glass (Peacemaker Wars Book 3) by J.N Chaney and Terry Maggert is a well written science fiction book at is full of action, suspense, with well defined characters that will hold your interest from the first page to the last.
If you like the BACKYARD STARSHIP series you'll find yourself really liking this look into Mark Tudor, Van Tudor's grandfather, Perry, Netty, and Valint, Van's grandmother, as they battle the corruption in The Galactic Knights Uniformed as one of the Masters is set on taking control of known space with the use of vicious and ruthless alien races at the cost of innocent civilians all while placing the blame of their actions and crimes on Mark and his team. If you like books on heroes that put their life's on the line to protect, serve, and bring those to justice who are nothing but bad, ruthless, murderous tugs out to conquer and control the universe. I really have enjoyed this book and series and hope you will too.

ADULT Oriented Military, Mercenary Space Opera🐺💪🗡🔫🚀💫
Book 3 in the Peacemaker Wars series. These books are written to be read in order because they are part of a continuing story revolving around the main character, Mark Tudor🐺🔫🗡💪,. He is a young WWI veteran who is abducted from earth 🌏 and joins the interstellar Peacemakers🐺🔫🗡🚀.
Ends in a cliffhanger. Don't they always?
Unfortunately book 4 does not publish until May 2024.

I got this e-book from Amazon📚 with Kindle unlimited.

You know, I get to the end of each of these books and wish there was more. But there is! The series keeps going. Mark's relationship with Tan - I love this because it's the precursor to his relationship with his grandson Van (wait, is the fact that it rhymes on purpose? Hmmm. . . ). You know what I wish is that we had some kind of art depicting the various alien races. As they all become familiar, they become loved and appreciated. The greatest thing here, is that we kind of know what's going to happen without knowing what's going to happen. We've had clues all along from the Backyard Starship series. But seeing it play out is such a pleasure. Great entertainment, and Tom Taylorson is spectacular.

Entertaining

There's bits and pieces of this book that seem anachronistic, if such a thing is possible in science fiction, compared to Van's storyline. There are characters and places that all but vanished or were considered myths in the latter series, but nearly all the characters treat as common place. The GKU for one and certain weapons for starters. How did Mark know what an atomic bomb looked like when it hadn't been invented when he was taken to the stars? And there are several times Mark knows things about earth technology that he shouldn't, being a veteran of WW1.
For the most part, I've ignored all these details because the story is entertaining to some extent, certainly better than what's on TV these days.

A three species tribunal is attempted to reign in Gal-Mareth.

While Gal-Mareth has painted Mark and his band as public enemy no.1, Mark attempts to rectify matters legally by organizing a tribunal to investigate him. For this they need 3 different species to instigate an impartial investigation. Will they have the time to do so and what roadblocks will there be....? We discover that not even Earth is safe from Gal-Mareth's reach....
A highly entertaining tale whereby Mark tries to do the right thing in their fight and a budding romance blossoms.....
Intrigue, suspense, space battles, stealth ships, the Stillness and much mire are interweaved in this absorbing tale.

Awesome

When a series hits me emotionally, that's unusual. 60 plus years of reading sci-fi has gotten me jaded I guess. it takes a really great story to excite me, hit me in the heart, or make me care about even the secondary characters. This one does that. In fact all the J N Chaney and Terry Maggert books have grabbed me. Its not often that I pay to preorder the next book of a series, when they're going to be available on KU, but I have for theirs because I want it as soon as it comes out. Great job guys!

Surprising, full of action and sort of unbelievable

The Peacemaker Wars saga continues with a book full of action and a lot of twists and turns that are to follow or even take seriously. However the Authors do present a story that flows and is interesting even though the reader may have some reservations on whether the flow of events is even possible.

The storyline does what it promised...filling in details previously unknown!

Mark faces many of the same groups who eventually plague Van. Some of names are know but we learn more about Valiant and Mark's growing relationship. As the barn gets built on Earth Mark sets out to find allies. What happens next awaits in the next extension of the storyline!!!

Good read,bit much war

Enjoyed book, characters good, classic good versus evil. I would pref e r less fighting sequences, and leave the swearing out for me! Many think it shows realism, but actually, it shows the age and ability of the writer(s). I'm over it. I like lighthearted read, with new ideas this comes close, and I do enjoy the story line! Expand on that!

Excellent

My reason for 4 stars is not bad. It means that no one is perfect. I wish there were 10 available then I would give 9. This series fills in a lot of parts if you’ve already read Backyard Starship. It’s a great read with all bases covered. Space is now split. Now it’s time to go on to the next book. Thanks to the authors.

Peacemaker Wars Book 3

This new series about the Peacemakers is such a great read. Once into the story line you don't want to stop the pulse pounding, adrenaline racing and heart racing action for even a minute. As proven time and time again J.N. Chaney is a master story teller. Please treat your self to this series, it's well worth the time it takes to read it.

it’s fine

I’m really mixed on this series. I want love it; because I’ve enjoyed the initial series backyard starship, but I just don’t.

Is it that everyone is following Tudor even though other are much more experienced or is it because I’m 3 books in and not a single thing has been resolved. I don’t appreciate books that are just a continuation to get to the good part.

Excellent, as always

I love to read a book that makes you give a heavy sigh when you finish it. It's also interesting to see how Back Yard Star Ship evolved to what it is today. You guys are truly terrific writers. Thank you.

An excellent backstory of Backyard Starship

I've a lot of Chaney's books with and without co-authors. This series so far truly explains Mark Tudor's universe and the legacy he left for his grandson.

Away we go!

Talk about excitement. This was probably the fastest I have ever read a book! Unable to put it down, I just read until it was done. Now I can't wait for the next one. The saga of Mark and Valint, and all those they effect, an awesome story.

Darn, now I wait

I can gage how well I like a book by how aggregated I am about having to wait until the next volume in the series is published. I am REALLY aggregated about this one. It would a have been so natural to just continue on after this one. I hate waiting!

ridiculous

It’s ridiculous. One terrible thing after another. Eventually I was just scanning to see if ANYTHING good happened. It didn’t. A whole book of bad things happening to the good guys. A whole book

Another episode in a very engaging tale. The plot deepened as the characters and their personalities mature and become more defined opening the door for the next episode.

Wow!!!

I was a little hesitant to start this series because I fell in love with the original one. The Peacemaker Wars series is just amazing, showing that the authors are 3 steps ahead of the rest of us. Terry Maggert and J. N. Chaney are masters of imagination!

The war finally starts

It has all been leading to this. A meeting with the corrupt side of the Guild culminates in a near fatal battle for Mark and his collection of mercenaries and allies.

This sets up book four as a hugely important part of this mini series for me.

On we go.

What can I say? The world of the Peacemakers is intricate and well constructed. The stories have more twist than a starship.
Keep them coming.
