PERFECTION
What did I just read = ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!!
This book literally sucks you in and the world disappears around you. I'm not sure if I even blinked. There's deep dark suspense & passion, action, love & hate and lots of steam. In good old JL Drake writing, she keeps us on our toes the whole book, trying to figure out the mystery and who is behind it all.
I'm literally MIND BLOWN & suffering a BOOK HANGOVER!!!

Grim & Kenna are VERY steamy enemies to lovers, and their banter is used to cover up the sexual tension between them with some amazing one liners like this 🤣

Grim is part of Devil's Reach & he part of billionaire Hotel franchise. He has his own hotel in the works however their are some complications...no spoilers. Grim likes control and someone else like control Kenna.

Kenna is a popular & successful host with a pain in the ass family apart from her mam. Who is a sweetheart and loves her daughters the same unlike the father...no spoilers. There is a lot more to her and she draws people in with that appeal she has. I can’t explain it she knows how people tik and work like Grim. However, Grim knows how to make them bleed and confess their sins...no spoilers
In my eyes dream couple here and they have a past with each other too which makes their scenes together even more tense 🤣

“Oh, fuck no, there’s two hundred and six bones to play with, and the night’s still young.” I used the heel of my boot to crunch down on two of his fingers.

Kenna is friends with Devils Reach and they are protective over her especially Minni & Rail. She understands the darkness and some thing tells me she knows more about the darkness than she leading on !! What she hiding and her friend too !!

My favourite MC Devil's Reach are BACK. Oh Rail how I missed you and still hasn't found the one women to keep him down! Minnie & Brick's relationship long distance is having a affect on their relationship BUT their love is still strong...

😭 I recommend you read the Devil's Reach Trilogy because Gus was a great man. There a sweet memorial dedicated to him. He loved this nephew Trigger and he want him to find the light

Kenna, a super host to her father’s hotel is used to dealing with men that have too much money and too little manners. But Kenna is tough as nails and signed on some of the most exclusive of clients… much to Grims dismay.
Grims father and Kennas father are both partners but Grim overseas everything and when he realizes Kenna doesn’t bow down easily, it becomes this hate to lust frenemies relationship.

I definitely struggled to keep up with different characters and who they were. So I had to stop reading and go back to the front glossary a few times.

Kenna is holding secrets and she’s super tight lipped about it.
Her father is a wolf in sheep’s clothing I feel like. I don’t trust him.
Did Kenna sign someone on that’s going against Grim? Someone lit his property on fire..
the ending was a bit predictable but it made for a good cliffhanger. I’ll definitely continue this series!

Grim Gates and the other members of the Devil's Reach MC were taking out the members of the Stripe Back MCs but none of them Grim's ultimate target. Then they see it, white powder flying through the Nevada desert. While Trigger and the rest of the guys sped off for the other bikers Grim was after the one who had been carrying his stolen property.

The adrenaline of tearing this man apart fed on Grim's dark side. When the man refused to talk Grim changed directions when he saw a massive fire ant hill. Running back to his bike he cut the lid off a bottle, scooped it full of the angry ants and dumped it down the front of his pants.

But the biker's answers just led to confusion. The theft of his drugs was only a distraction to get to the girl to find out what she knew. But he passed out before Grim could find out who had sent him and what girl they were looking for.

After the last of men were dead he headed for his driver who handed him clean clothes. Grim striped out of his leather cut, tee and jeans into the bespoke suit and soft leather shoes and climbed into the back of the limosine. After ten years he was finally heading home to Vegas.

The kickback of the gun snapped Kenna Lodge back and the dead man was now sprawled over her. She thrashed about trying to get the heavy body off of her while trying not to vomit from the smell of gun smoke and brandy. This couldn't be happening. Minnie came into the back room of her club to see what was going on and stopped in her tracks promising to take care of it.

Kenna told her that she hadn't meant to kill him but she couldn't tell her the reasons because she wouldn't involve anyone else in the mess she found herself in.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first book I have read by JL Drake but I have already started downloading her backlist. The secondary characters in this book are from two previous series and I definitely want to get their backstories.

Grim goes from a leather cut to a bespoke suit. His family owns Indulgence a Vegas hotel and casino, but Grim is building another hotel with a club on the darker side. Grim has history with the Devil's Reach MC club and trusts them with his life and he knows they will protect his secrets.

Kenna is a Hostess at Indulgence and hasn't seen Grim in years and is not happy that he is back in Vegas for good. Especially since the controlling man is now her boss. But Kenna has been doing her job without his interference in the past and she is determined that that doesn't change.

This book is action-packed, full of danger and full of violence. If you love dark romance with a mix of mafia and MC justice then you will love this book. The suspense will keep you turning the books and the explosive chemistry between Grim and Kenna will set your Kindle on fire.

Warning - this book doesn't have a HEA and leaves you with a HUGE cliffhanger, but this story is well worth the wait. Can't wait for Havoc!

I just love this author so much!! She writes exciting and suspenseful stories. This is a new series that starts with following Grim and Kenna. Grim has many facets to him, he is a wealthy businessman due to his ties to Vegas and part of the Devils Reach MC. Kenna is feisty, sassy and independent, and she does her job like no one‘s business. They are fighting their mutual attraction to each other, and as things heat up around them they are also battling a mutual enemy. I can’t wait for this trilogy to continue!!

This book right here is utter perfection and I loved every second of it. It kept me up all night and left me with a book hangover like no other. I’m going to have to read it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Grim is now tied with trigger for my favorite J.L. Drake book and I didn’t think that could happen. My brain is in chaos and I can’t wait for the rest of this series to see how everything plays out.

This book has so many layers, intrig, mystery, spice, and some pretty dark spaces....it's fantastic!
It's dark, dangerous and not for the faint of heart....it's drag down dirty, bloody knuckles, great friends and total loyalty all while being stabbed in the back...and so much more
Right away, we start with a great introduction into Grim and Kennas' world... two very different stories that quickly intertwine into one. It also gives us an opportunity to catch up with our favorite Devils Reach characters, and we were not disappointed.
It's a deep dive into the action. It becomes a comfortable space you feel like you belong in, and when you are 20 chapters deep, you realize you're only on chapter 4.
This book sucked me in and spit me out hours later....only stopped by that famous cliffhanger that makes you realize someone's gonna get it, and you have to wait.

In the beginning of reading Grim, I found it difficult to connect with these characters. Grim, Kenna, and then we had other POVs in there as well.

The more I read, the more I was intrigued, and then I was invested all the way.

Kenna is independent, sassy, and a total boss at her job.
Grim is dangerous, but right now, these two are fighting not only their mutual attraction to each other but they both have an enemy.

I have so many questions that I NEED answers to. There are so many different players that are suspicious, and I am here for all of it. I need the next book, especially after that ending!

All of JL Drake’s books have been amazing. Idk how she manages to top her previous books but damn she did it this time!! Grim is a member of Devils Reach MC, but he also has the business side to him. His family owns many businesses and Grim straddles the line between his MC and being a ruthless business man in Las Vegas. When a previous kill brings trouble to Grim’s new hotel, can he figure out the reason in time? Someone is set to destroy him, but Grim is called the Reaper for a reason. After all, he was Trigger’s protege.
I can see why Drake named the series Havoc of sins, cause from the first chapter to the last, it’s one hell of a ride! You will be happy to see the gang from Devils Reach, but there’s some characters that popped up that even I was surprised by. I’m dying to get my hands on the second book! And also, I will never look at marshmallows the same way again LOL

This book is a hole new content of people but you also get to see some old friends, you feel like your right there with them I could not put this book down, so many things go through your mind when your reading this so many emotions happen throughout this book And Kenna! God I just love her But the ending in true form has left me on the edge of my seat

Geez, she did it again; this author never disappoints.

Loved Grim, his rough edges, his dark side, his love of retribution - Kenna is getting through though, with her equally shut off emotions; she’s ready for the ride of her life, I think Grim Gates is just the right man.

She has some life history, we’ve only skimmed the surface off - the ending OMG!!!! I was ready to one-click the next book right now!!!!!!! but, the cliffhanger queen has left me with my heart pumping!

This is Las Vegas businessman and Devil’s Reach MC member Grimson ‘Grim’ Gates, and hostess Kenna Tame-Lodge.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives (Grim, Kenna, Simon) GRIM follows in the wake of the return to Las Vegas of Grimson ‘Grim’ Gates. As part of the billion dollar hotel and casino business, Grim Gates return to Las Vegas is quickly followed by betrayal and trouble, trouble in the form of our heroine, Kenna Lodge, a young, abrasive and determined hostess who knows how to seal the deal, and get things done but all is not well in the high stakes games that control the criminal underground of Las Vegas, death and destruction are about to wreak havoc in the lives of Kenna and Grim . What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Kenna and Grim, and the fall-out as Kenna is targeted for the sins of someone else.

The world building is detailed and busy. There are several big name and big game players both entering and leaving Las Vegas, and in this, Kenna finds herself on the precipice of losing it all. The requisite evil has many faces including the Mexican Cartel, Vegas Mafia, local gangs, and someone very close to our story line couple.

GRIM is a dark, gritty and complex story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, dysfunctional family dynamics. Kenna Lodge works for the Gates family and her job involves signing wealthy clients to contracts involving the hotel, Indulge. One night everything changes and Kenna does the unthinkable to only be rescued by Grim.

The attraction between Grim and Kenna is high but the two also share a hatred for each other that keeps tensions high.

When it's clear someone is out to destroy Grim could it actually be linked to Kenna?

This was a great book that had me flipping pages and excited to see what was going to happen next.

I really liked Grim and understood that he wanted control but he also deep down had a big heart. He was hesitant to trust many people and could tell that Kenna was hiding something big from him. He wanted Kenna but also knew she was a weakness for him.

Kenna was interesting as she was doing everything she could to prove herself to her dad, Cameron, but at the same time she hated her dad for never being good enough for him. The beginning of the book starts off with a bang for her and I really wish she would have trusted Grim and told him everything that happened.

The chemistry between these two was off the charts due in part to their hatred of the other and knowing that secrets bonded the two together.

The action in the book was awesome and so much was going on. There are definitely some characters that I don't trust and I know so much more is going to be revealed.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. 4.5 stars- Rebecca

This book is an enemies to lovers. It is a dark romance. Grim and Kenna are made for each other. Kenna is used to dealing with arrogant guys but it this case Grim doesn't play fair. The book builds you up and keeps you reading. When you get to the end you are like what just happened and biting your nails for the next book. The characters are so vivid

All will find a way to burrow into your soul
I highly suggest following the author's suggestion of taking notes about who is who and tidbits about them, though she does include a glossary at the beginning

Grim is a chameleon. He has so many different sides to him.
All dangerous.
When he returns home to take his place at the helm of the family business in Vegas and to build his legacy hotel he finds things are not as they should be

He will flush out the betrayers and dismantle them limb by limb
All while keeping an eye on the mouthy, very curvacious, highly stubborn Kenna.
That woman rubs him wrong in all the right ways

Each page has a different viewpoint. A new puzzle piece to add to a very complex picture
I am hooked. Grim is my first experience with this author and if I survive this journey I will be going back to read the rest of her series

Grim (Havoc of Sins #1) by J.L Drake. Grim has just gotten back to Las Vegas after he has been in Mexico settling some business. His family runs a very lucrative business of hotels with casinos, among other ventures, that have made his family extremely rich. To boot, Grim is also a member of The Devil's Reach MC. He is known as the Vegas Reaper, and he lives up to his name. Grim is dangerous and extremely ruthless. Now, back home, he runs into Kenna. She just so happens to be hiding from someone in the hotel Grim is building. When their paths cross, the fireworks start. Their relationship is volatile. Kenna works at his father's hotel, and their paths cross continuously, and so does the sexual tension. What started out as them scratching and itch due to their sexual compatibility turns into something crazy. As they navigate this strange relationship, they also have to deal with outside individuals that mean them great harm. I am so glad I was able to read this series book after the book. Yes! One continuous read. Grim is crazy protective of not only his real family but his MC family. And as he tries to juggle the two lives as a highly respected business man and a ruthless member of a MC, I was taken on a journey of intrigue, betrayal, sexual shenanigans with a good sprinkle of who to trust. Pay attention. There is so much going on in this book with inside and outside forces at work. 4 stars.

Oh wow what a book!!!! This had me from the first chapter honestly I couldn't put it down!!!

Kenna is a hostess with the mostest! She is host to her father's hotel and is used to dealing with thirsty males who have a lot of money and who just want to get in her pants.......but Kenna never backs down shes a tough cookie and she has signed up some of the best clients, but when she meets Grim all bets are off!!! Grim and Kenna's fathers are work partners but Grim oversees it all it's so fun to read when Kenna doesn't bow down so easily you can see the enemies to lovers happening pretty quickly with these two.

Kenna is definitely holding back secrets and her father is a nasty piece of work who you wanna punch in the face a few times with regarding his attitude towards his own daughter!!! Grim is ooooff oh my gosh someone fan me down 🔥🥵 that man is sex on legs personified!!! He's alpha and boy what lady doesn't like an alpha male I know I do lol. Honestly that man could tell me to bark like a dog and I would 😂 but honestly hands down one of the best books I've read not just this year so far but one in a long time that's left me with a book hangover!!! Also left me with a ruddy cliffhanger also 🤬 I can't wait to see what's coming next!!

The super sexy Grim straddles the biker & business world making him complicated & dangerous which I loved. Kenna has been playing the hostess with the mostest for her father & Grim's father (they're in business together) which also means she's aligned with Grim. She has a spine of steel so she doesn't back down to anyone which drives Grim wild so the sparks are flying between them. They're drawn to each other but she's not laying down for him, but they're perfect for each other so the sexy times are HOT! There's also a ton of suspense swirling around them as this wealthy world brings out some very bad characters who want Grim to fail so the twists are definitely coming in hot to keep me guessing, and honestly, I still have no clue as to who the big bad is at this point. It kept me on the edge of my seat as I turned the pages at warp speed trying to get all the answers but unfortunately, it ended on a big cliffhanger that tried to do me in since I have zero patience when waiting on a book LOL! I hope to all hell that the next book doesn't take too long to come out, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the first book in the Havoc of Sins series and is a heavy crossover from the Devi's Reach Trilogy, through the Quiet Mafia Series, and the Dark Water Series. If you have read that series then you have met Grim. This book does contain trigger warnings and you need to read those before diving in.
This is the story of Grim and Kenna. He has been away for a while and is now being sucked back into the life of the family business since it is being threatened. Kenna lives in a totally different world that Grim and I loved in the beginning of the book we saw each of their worlds and how different they are. But, they quickly melded together as they both have a common enemy. I don't really want to go into the details of the story and give something away. I feel like there is so much going on in this book that you are on your toes through the entire thing and on the edge of your seat at times. This is a book that you do not want to miss. I really loved reading this book. It was so good. Now I can't wait to have the next book in my hands.

Havoc of Sins Book 1 we meet old book friends from different series and rejoined in a Absolutely brilliant book first take a seat and enjoy the experience.

Meet Grimson Gates a well connected Hotelier in Las Vegas with his family and after being a few years in Mexico City , Grimson returns to help with the businesses and also the new adventure Hotel is very own hotel being built. Crimson is dark broody sinful and sometimes Lucifer appears.

Meet Kenna Lodge to her clients and acquaintances and to her family Tame, her father Cameron Tame is the best criminal offence lawyer and as his reputation proceeds him , kenna fights to have her way and work hard at doing so . Her best friend Minnie, Hanna,Tess all badass and Absolutely independent woman with an appetite for the hottess men.

This book isn't for the faint hearted but believe me without a doubt the most thrilling,suspense and plenty of gruesome darkness and cliff hangers too, loved the characters and highly recommended

Drake went dark again! I repeat, Drake went dark again! I can’t even describe how damn happy I was when she sent me Grim. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite genres and this book right here filled that spot perfectly. Grim is just that right kind of arrogance and holy hell, does he wear it so well. Kenna is no slouch herself and doesn’t care one bit who Grim is and what he could do to her. She’s used to dealing with egotistical men everyday as hostess to big spenders in Vegas, but she finds out pretty quick that Grim doesn’t play fair. Throw the Devils Reach into the mix and you know it’s all getting ready to go sideways.

Drake does what she does best. She builds a whole new view and perspective into her world and characters, then smacks you with a helluva cliffhanger reeling for more. I absolutely will be waiting, impatiently I might add, for the next book to drop. I have a feeling things are going to get worse before they get better and I can’t wait to see just how far Grim will go to protect what is his.

This was a great book that had me flipping pages and excited to see what was going to happen next.

I really liked Grim and understood that he wanted control but he also deep down had a big heart. He was hesitant to trust many people and could tell that Kenna was hiding something big from him. He wanted Kenna but also knew she was a weakness for him.

Kenna was interesting as she was doing everything she could to prove herself to her dad, Cameron, but at the same time she hated her dad for never being good enough for him. The beginning of the book starts off with a bang for her and I really wish she would have trusted Grim and told him everything that happened.

The chemistry between these two was off the charts due in part to their hatred of the other and knowing that secrets bonded the two together.

The action in the book was awesome and so much was going on. There are definitely some characters that I don't trust and I know so much more is going to be revealed.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

This is a spin off, so there are characters from previous stories and mentions of previous happenings. I had already read them so I was familiar with them, but I can definitely see someone new to all this being a bit confused, cuz there is a LOT happening! This is pretty much nonstop action, from the very first page we are already thrust into this world of danger, violence, a bit of suspense, loads of naughty moments, and chemistry that just radiates off the pages. I'm going to tell you this is not rainbows and unicorns, this is nitty gritty and raw, if you are diving in expecting insta-love and hearts and glitter, then you are in the wrong place. Now, because I am already familiar with the author, I had a feeling this was not going to just be one book, so prepare yourself for the cliffy, and the feelings that come with being left hanging, but fingerscrossed it won't be too long a wait. I give this 5 stars.

I am still sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to drop. Yes, this ends on a cliffy and is part of a duet, and baby the author will take you on a rollercoaster. I am still a bit scared of how many twists and turns will be thrown in the next book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story - although many characters were hard to keep up with (thank you front glossary) - but the intrigue and the spicy kept me going. Kenna is a strong character and I think she is keeping things up her sleeve, Grim....the drool for this book boyfriend is real! I am hoping the next one drops soon because the anticipation will kill me.
