If life ran as smoothly as the engines she loved, Alexis would have a much easier time being an omega.
But her life is misfiring, and all she can do is try to make the best of it. Disguised as a beta to avoid judgement over her life choices and typically masculine career aspirations, she’s living life on suppressants. When she’s offered the opportunity of a lifetime—a scholarship to her bestie’s American university, where she’ll be able to grind everyone’s perceptions about what omegas are capable of to dust—she snaps it up immediately. The one thing the suppressants can’t help though, is her libido.
Alexis is going to have fun at her new university and dominate in her classes—no getting packed up and pregnant for this omega. With her designation hidden, she samples the local dating pool including members of the university’s hockey team and bends the rules about how much clothing professors are allowed to take off their students. And despite her determination to stay a free agent, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the guys she’s been getting to know. What started as casual diversions don’t seem so simple anymore—and the discovery that she’s been banging a bunch of packmates sends her into a tailspin. Alexis didn’t move across the world for a pack. They don’t know her real designation. Her new life is becoming a tangled web, and her lovers hold the strings.
I loved Melissa’s first book. It had such incredible characters that it made you want to know more about them.
This group? Alexis? She’s not relatable or likable. She’s the too loud, chip on her shoulder character that becomes tedious. I loved the idea of her pursuing mechanical engineering as an omega. I love seeing authors explore omegas who are more than their biology. But Alexis? May as well me a man. She’s crass like a man. She screws around like a man. She pops off at everyone like a man. She’s rude. I wanted to like her. I wanted to cheer for her. But the story spent so much time focused on the mundane and rehash of how US Universities are different than UK…and Alexis bellyaching her courseload even though she took this scholarship knowing full well what to expect - yet didn’t? It’s little details like this that made me scratch my head. Alexis is exhausting. The pack is equally exhausting. Teddy is a golden retriever on crack. There is no good reason for him to react as he did. Wyatt? Calvin? When you get this far into a book and there’s been nothing but casual or aggressive interactions between the potential love interests it just doesn’t make it enjoyable. I get the desire to make things “not easy” and I’m all for drama…but this was just exhausting. Maybe I’ll come back to this when I haven’t had a long day…and maybe I’ll change my mind. But for now? I’m putting it aside and maybe others will have better luck.
I always forget that when I'm on an omv kick, I need to leave it on a high note. I should have stopped at the book I finished last night.
I'll start with what I liked because it was the only thing that kept me reading: Girl got that good dick. She has no qualms about sleeping with whoever she wanted to because she wasn't in a relationship and I'm honestly proud. Please give me more characters like that.
So how did I hate this one? Let me count the ways:
1. This is entirely personal but one alpha's name is Teddy lmao. I don't think I've met anyone that was actually from the US with that name. Even as a nickname for Theodore, he would have been Theo here. Immediate ick every time his name was spoken.
2. "I'll probably just crash and sleep."
3. He says he finished his "general studies degree," and the university offered to fund a "master's degree" to let him keep playing hockey (never mind that you can't play more than 4 years of a sport in the NCAA), but thennnnn he calls nursing his "major" multiple times. That's...not right...I can't. Make it make senseeeee please.
4. The way they're calling themselves old (too old to play in the NHL anymore) when they're 26 and 29 and many NHL players right now in real life are in their thirties.
3. She argued with the professor about her grade, and when he tells her she infuriates him because her scent follows him around everywhere, she immediately jumps to, "why do you have such a stick up your ass about me fooling around with other people?" He......never told her that. Ever. He told US that in his internal thoughts, but never her. Lmao
4. Despite having every clue imaginable that they're all after the same person, including one of them scenting his packmate on her, they're all too dense to figure it out until the book needs them to.
5. They're all too dense to figure out she's an omega too even though she gives textbook signs that she is and she effing smells like one lol.
6. Oh ok so she's just walking around having unprotected sex with all of them in the same week and not telling them about the others before they decide to go in bareback. WE know that they're all packmates and it should theoretically be fine, but SHE doesn't.
7. We're just ignoring the fact that the one alpha was a misogynistic asshole in the first chapter because she was a woman in the engineering department and he thought he was being cute, and then later on when she brings out a jersey signed by an NHL player (her best friend's mate), their immediate reaction is to tell her it's a dupe because there's no way it's authentic...and shortly after that there's no way she knows that famous pack. Smh.
8. That one alpha who was a dick the entire book and hot and cold with her but somehow she came to love him and always accepted his advances because he was sexy. Like it wasn't actually body betrayal, homegirl just did not care that he treated her that way until the story needed her to.
9. It's not actually a sports romance even though three of them are hockey players. There is very minimal sports stuff in this book. Also one is in what has to be his 6th year of playing hockey (see above about why this isn't possible), with his "masters" funded by the university to keep him on the team, but he misses practice left and right whenever he needs to.
10. Honestly I was just bored. That secret she held even after a pivotal moment made me lose respect for her and then they all just kind of fumbled around and became a pack. Contrived drama to create a third act breakup, and then a mostly hfn, since we didn't get any closure for things that had been issues over the storyline.
Didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one. A couple of the same tropes were used again. The characters were not as likable. I'm looking n forward to the nxt, however.
Ah man this started off so good but ultimately fell flat for me, all the alphas sounded the same minus Calvin, there really wasn’t a whole lot else happening in this book so I was a little bored toward the end
3,5 stars! Quick and easy omegaverse/hockey romance. The characters were pretty great, fun to see the characters from the first book in this one as well.
I was really looking forward to Alexis's story after meeting her in Molly's book - and she does not disappoint!
Alexis starts off the story as a badass who doesn't take any shit from pushy alphas. I loved how she meets Teddy and Caleb. As she unknowingly meets the rest of the pack it makes for some spicy and hilarious situations.
This book was such a fun read because there isn't much angst and it's a fast moving storyline. Alexis is hiding her designation, hiding her feelings, and hiding her instincts which leads to some miscommunication but nothing over the top. There is a good balance of story and spice. And I absolutely loved getting to see Molly again.
The small negatives for me: I really got annoyed with how Alexis treated Teddy. It was fun and funny at first but then it just started to be too much and bordering on mean. Alexis's family issues didn't really seemed to be fleshed out - we know her mom is controlling but then one small interaction fixes it all. Idk seems like it didn't even need to be in here.
Overall, I really enjoyed this read. Melissa Huxley has a way of writing that kinda sucks me in and I don't even realize how much I've read. I love that from a book.
4 stars - This was much better written than the first installment. My biggest issue was the lack of protection used when they first meet. It’s incredibly irresponsible and really took me out of the story since I was left wondering if they were all really that stupid. Also, I read a lot of different genres and even like monster romance mentions that they’re not able to get STDs when the characters are about to engage in unprotected sex. Otherwise, it’s usually a pregnancy trope or the people are idiots. ANYWAY, the first guy she talks to for only a few minutes before they sleep together and she’s begging him to have unprotected sex and he’s eager to oblige. They mention not having to worry about pregnancy, but given that they both have promiscuous pasts, have just met and STDs are mentioned as a thing in this world, it’s beyond irresponsible. She also repeats the same thing with each sexual encounter with the rest of the pack. By guy #3, she even tells him she’s clean. How would she know this? He’s the third person she’s slept with in like a week and at no point in time did she ask them if they were clean. I don’t know, it was just really off putting and would have been such an easy fix. Besides those things, it was a decent read.
Blah! That was more of a 1 star for me, but I think I'm biased and would have enjoyed the book a little more if the domineering "strong independent woman" thing was my schtick. Unfortunately it's not. And that's if they're written well, which Alexis was also unfortunately, not. She was mainly just selfish, bitchy and rude. She was willing to make every person in her life unhappy and sacrifice their lives and careers so she didn't feel uncomfortable in class...so strong and independent of her 🙄 If she were a dude instead of a chick, we'd have thought she was a grade a asshole! Also, a whole star last because this should not have been called a hockey book. One game and a couple references to hockey do not a hockey book make! We don't even know how their season was or if they won or anything. No clue. No clue what positions they played, no idea who the coach was, nothing. I love the rise in popularity of the hockey books, but that's if they ACTUALLY have hockey has one of the main secrets of the book, not a side dish. Ultimately this was just low-grade erotica.
This book starts off with a real shocker of what I guess you’d call the meet cute 😉 Alexis is a determined and spirited omega masquerading as a beta. She’s just moved to the States to continue her mechanical engineering degree at the same school her friend Molly has transferred too after she gets a huge scholarship. There, she is reunited with the adorable golden retriever alpha she had a run in with earlier, and tries her best to avoid him despite being extremely attracted to him. She unknowingly meets the rest of his pack and it is sparks flying all around with Alexis and the pack! This book was certainly about the romance between Alexis and the pack, and of course it was wonderful and spicy! But more importantly, this book was about growth as an individual and as a pack. We see huge strides from not just Alexis, but from her alphas too. A great read that was not-put-down-able for me!
Alexis is an omega who is using suppressants to live a beta life. She doesn't want a pack, and she wants to not get judged for loving the masculine career she has chosen. That's far easier to do as a beta. But when her best friend Molly's university offers her an opportunity in America- she snatches it. It's a chance to get her career off the ground and have a little fun. Living life in a beta disguise offers her the chance to get out and date. She finds several interesting and gorgeous guys from the school's hockey team. Things are going great, sort of. The unexpected consequence of dating these guys is that they bring out all those omega urges she tries so hard to keep buried. But then she finds out that the guys all belong to the same pack- Pack Astor and she has a freak out. But Pack Astor knows she belongs with them and if hockey has taught them anything- it's how to play to win. This book is pack with heat and humor and is a great read!
So I loved this book. I really like the storyline of Omegas going for their dreams and not falling for the expectations of others. I would never have pegged Alexi as an omega. She has been living her life as a beta and has sworn off packs and Alphas. Her journey to America to study is very unconventional but that’s what you should expect with her unconventional major. While visiting the Engineering department she meets Teddy from pack Astor. After her visit she goes back to England to continue to study. Teddy is obsessed so he makes a way to get her back to America and in his life. Once she returns the hijinks begin. One by one she meets the rest of Pack Astor and happens to sleep with them not knowing that they are a pack. Can pack Astor change her mind about having a pack and living as an Omega?
I really enjoyed this story. I am a sucker for a strong, independent, and feisty FMC. And well, Alexis did start off tasering 🤣🤣🤣
Story premise was super fun and unique, and each of the guys had their own distinct personalities and traits that really endeared them to me.
What I really appreciated most about this book was Alexis' reason for her secrecy and her determination to excel in a male-dominated industry. She really believed in herself and her talent, and I really got behind that...especially when she also managed to find a pack who supported and encouraged her goals too.
I love Alexis’s story. She is a very different person from Molly, but she truly shines on her own. An omega who tries to live as a beta, a woman who is studying in a prominently male-dominated career path, Alexis definitely defies expectations and isn’t afraid of fighting for what she wants, along with her trusty Mr. Sparky. I love how supportive her guys are towards her dreams, and I love that she doesn’t settle and change her entire personality/wants by the end like what happens with so many other stories. This was a truly wonderful story and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
I loved the first book in the Pucking Alpha series, but I absolutely freaking loved this one!
The differing of personalities between all the alphas was perfection. I loved how strong Alexis was in her decisions. The storyline kept me hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. Nor did I want to! I’m definitely hoping to see more in this series! I can’t wait!
Omegaverse + hockey = perfection. Kudos, Melissa! Another ballpark story! ♥️
So far this has been my favorite book! I really loved Alexis and her guys! I did feel like Miles didn’t have as much character development or connection with Alexis as the other men. But other than that, fantastic! Looking forward to reading more!
Funny, sweet and just the right ending! I throughly enjoyed this read - I loved the banter and easy relationships that developed between all the main characters. It did feel very quickly wrapped up towards the end but it was still satisfying.
I jumped on an ARC opportunity to give this new to me author a go and I have no regrets! Looking forward to reading more from her back catalogue!
**Note: I got an ARC and I voluntarily leave an honest and fair review.**
I was interested in Alexis's story since book 1. I loved that she was such a loyal and fierce friend. And unapologetic in being her own person.
Of course, like book 1, it was not completely perfect. Which I said before is not a bad thing, because the best things can have flaws. For me, it makes books relatable and more real.
I like that Melissa Huxley writes her book with such details and vivid characters. She gets emotions across. Even when they are negative, it is again very realistic. Since even in real life, you don't like everything.
So, while I love Alexis, I still had some issues with her as a person. Like that, she is stubborn and really acts a lot like a man. Which doesn't mean, I have anything against her or her behavior in general. She can have as much sex as she wants and do what she wants to do. In fact, I celebrate that, because I don't like it in real life either, when females are shamed for doing the same as many men.
But I had issues connecting with her in a way, because it's not my mindset. And while I could understand her reasoning and behavior, it makes it difficult for me. And I'm not a fan either from hiding who you are or ignoring who you are? She is posing as a beta, while being an omega. She doesn't want a pack. Which I get in a way, because of the society and expectations. I mean, it's not that different than here in the real life. Women going for predominately manly fields for sure don't have it easy. But still, she is an omega. I kind of find it hypocrite to say, I can be and do what I want to do. But then again, she is hiding her designation like it is an issue. How should things change for omegas, when no one is standing up as one?
And in my opinion, things doesn't get better at all, when you ignore them or when you have to lie. I mean, she didn't even trust Molly with that knowledge at first… That was a bit critical for me. Still, I liked her. I really loved it, that she was different and followed her dreams.
The guys are basically the same. I liked them. And sure, some of them made stupid decisions. Like Teddy and the shenanigans he did, to get her into the university. But overall she got solid guys and a good pack.
I loved meeting Alexis, Molly’s best friend, in the first book. So I was thrilled to find out that this was her story. I loved how we have ourselves an omega who isn’t the usual type. She loves engines & is studying mechanical engineering, but she’s doing it by going on suppressants & masquerading as a beta. When she finds herself in America at the school her friend Molly attends, things start changing for her. Not necessarily in ways she’s excited about though. She feels like she can only embrace who she is, and who she wants to be, as a faux beta. She can’t see herself living as an omega until she’s settled in her new career after gradation. Falling for a bunch of different guys, who happen to be in a pack, is so far away from her goals. They spark her omega urges, urges that the suppressants should keep her from having. Around them though, she truly struggles to remember that she doesn’t want to find a pack like a “good little omega”. All of a sudden things aren’t working the way she’s always expected, and she finds herself falling for this pack. What happens when they find out she’s actually an omega? Will Alexis be able to follow her dreams, but with a pack at her back, supporting her? And what about when she finds out exactly WHY she got the fancy scholarship in America? Will she return to the way things were, and do things on her own & alone? Will she even want to stay in America after everything’s said & done? If Pack Astor has a say in it, Alexis is going to be theirs, cause when you’re dealing with a pack of hockey playing alphas (even if 1 of them doesn’t play anymore), they know how to focus, and that focus is fully on her. They’re in it to win it, and the stakes have never been higher! If you love Omegaverse and whychoose stories full of humor, friendship, found family, romance, and enough spice to make you need hosed down 🔥🥵💦 then you NEED this amazing book in your life…NOW 🙌🏻❤️ I really hope we get more books in this universe because I am thoroughly addicted & need more! Hopefully Hazel’s story will be next, especially after the tease about her friend Seb, and how awful her family sounded 😉🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I couldn't love this story more. It had me sucked in from the beginning and couldn't put it down.
🍫 OK, so hear me out, I loved Molly and her pack, but I think i loved Alexis and her guys even more, which is crazy i know, but I do...
🍫 I loved Alexis's spirited personality. She is so sure of who she is and what she wants for her future no matter her designation. She is uniquely herself through and through, and she isn't going to change for anyone.
🍫 Alexis is granted a unique opportunity that she can't seem to refuse. Once she arrives at her new destination, she wants to delve into a bit of fun, and she does for sure, but the guys she has fun with all turn out to be packmates. They all quickly become obsessed with her (I mean, duh, she's amazing), and she can't help but slowly let them in and fall for them just as hard.
🍫 Our mmc's are Calvin, Teddy, Miles, and Wyatt. I really loved all the guys so much. It took me a little to get on board with Calvin, but otherwise, I am completely obsessed with this pack. They are so good for Alexis and vice versa, and I'm so glad that Teddy found Alexis. I think my favourite is Teddy, you can't help but love him.
🍫 Everything slowly starts to fall into place for Alexis and her men. Her connection grows every day with each of them, but fate has other plans for Alexis...
🍫 Please read this story. It's such an amazing read. You won't be disappointed.
🍫 Shout out to Molly, an amazing best friend. Also, Hazel, Alexis's newest friend. She was so sweet, I really liked her. I wonder if she will be next at finding herself a loving pack???
Thank you so much to Melissa and her beautiful team for giving me the opportunity to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏
All opinions are honest and my own 🩷
🍫 multiple pov 🍫 why choose 🍫 spicy scenes 🍫 British fmc + American alpha's 🍫 forced proximity 🍫 grumpy/ sunshine 🍫 university based 🍫 hockey omegaverse
I've come to the conclusion that this author and I don't mesh well together. I seriously need to stop trying to read her books because I doubt she is capable of writing anything I would enjoy.
First things first, empty sex and one-night stands without an emotional relationship don't do it for me at all. The majority of this book is filled with unemotional quick fucks without attachment. The steam is really high and super fast burn, but it's all meaningless. It feels a bit trashy. 🤷♀️
The alphas don't act like alphas in a doting relationship with their omega. There isn't any cuddling, purring, or loving going on. The FMC is still taking suppressants and pretending to be a beta at 75% into the story. There is no knotting, nesting, or heats happening. FMC stubbornly refuses to acknowledge or act on any of her omega instincts. To be fair, I don't know what happens after 75% because I DNF'd this book.
The one Alpha Professor is a jerkhole throughout the entire book. He runs hot and cold. He lusts after FMC, screws her, and then dismisses her like she's a paid hooker. He treats her like trash, intentionally failing her in class just to be cruel since he "can't have her." That's the definition of petty and so unprofessional. Since this attitude lasts the entire book, I'm not inclined to forgive him. Suddenly realizing he's "in love" with FMC doesn't negate how he acts throughout this story.
Alpha and omega dynamics barely come into play between the main characters. It may as well have been a contemporary RH. But maybe I'm being too harsh and bitter because I really despised this book and I can't stand men who treat women like trash.
Anyway, I need to try to remember not to read anything from this author again.
'Pack Power Play' by Melissa Huxley is a delightful rom-com omega verse that introduces a relatable, strong, independent FML character. Her journey in college, designation, and love resonates with our own experiences, making the story all the more engaging.
Melissa expands the Pucking Alphas universe, allowing us to interact with the past cast of Molly, her pack, and how her story affected her best friend Alexis but blends in with what the world looks like for Alexis and how the MLs shake up her world.
It feels well-rounded and super easy to build visuals for those who do, but it leaves you wanting to know more about the characters and world you interact with. I hope we learn more about one of Alexis' first new friends on campus and if she ends up having more to her story and how she will deal with a future with her upbringing.
The cast of ML characters is also delightful, and I LOVE how they interact with Alexis and all their assorted tropes. I do admit I wish one of them didn't feel like he fell in the background, but it's because the others have more intense personalities that outshine him.
The story involves hockey players but doesn't feel like REVOLVES around hockey, which might be surprising from Molly's story. However, it feels really good, and I loved the plot line that made it feel authentic—like that between Alexis and one of the MLS.
Overall, this is a score, and I can't wait for the hat trick! Highly recommend!
This book certainly started with a spark. Yes. I went there.
All (bad) jokes aside, I adored this book. Whilst I found it a little slow to start, and took me some time to get into, once we hit the meat of the story, I was absolutely hooked.
Alexis, an omega hiding as a beta in the world of mechanical engineering, is a wonderful FMC. She's strong, independent, and knows what she wants. She's not scared to fight for her dreams, and she pushes herself to the max to get there - to her own detriment at times. And not once does she suddenly flip her switch on her morals, which makes her all the more likeable.
This is definitely a story of growth for Alexis. Growth to accept her true designation, to accept the interest of the pack she's tangled herself in with. Growth to understand that sometimes she needs some help, and that it is okay to love.
The pack. These four men are all beautifully different, but also alike at the same time, making them a truly cohesive pack. Miles, Teddy and Wyatt, the hockey playing students, all with their own majors that make them unique and able to meet Alexis on different levels. And Calvin - that first scene? Yeah, still living rent free in my head.
This was my first read from Huxley, and I'm definitely going to be checking out some of her other books, especially Molly's story
I enjoyed this installment more than the first one. Alexis is a feisty character who isn't afraid to break the mold in a male-dominated field, and it was inspiring to see her pursue mechanical engineering as an omega. What I found especially refreshing was the author's portrayal of omegas as more than just their biology, exploring their complexities in a way that goes beyond stereotypes.
That said, I did find one aspect a bit odd: when Alexis accepted the scholarship, she didn't know any of the details about it. I would have expected her to receive at least a packet or some kind of information outlining the requirements. While this is a small issue, it did feel like an oversight.
On the positive side, I appreciated the way Alexis explored her sexual freedom, breaking away from more submissive approach often seen in similar stories. It was also great to see her meet her pack members individually rather than in a big group introduction. While I love the steamy moments, I did wish there was a bit more emotional depth and connection outside of the bedroom. This would have helped to solidify the bond between Alexis and her men—Wyatt, Matt, Calvin, and Teddy—especially given the emphasis the author places on the idea that omegas are more than just their biology.
Overall I felt more connected towards this storyline than the first installment.
After fucking multiple people, the FMC told one of the MMC’s “I’m clean and I’m on birth control” to forgo using a condom. Ummm, you’ve had unprotected sex with multiple randos. No shame to that, but definitely shame to say “I’m clean” without being tested and having had unprotected sex—the terminology “clean” is outdated and judgemental; plus just saying you don’t have any STIs doesn’t make it so. This is a poor example of making smart safe-sex choices. MMCs never even claimed to have been tested for STIs; it wasn’t addressed. The whole conversations around safe sex were awful. Also, MMCs just trusting the birth control word a complete stranger that they literally just met. Yikes.
Secondly, the first book in this series and this book both have scenes that have MMCs saying things like “This is your last chance to tell me to stop,” or “If you don’t stop me now, i can’t be responsible for what i do,” and that’s just not how consent works. Consent can be revoked at any time. This sentiment just gives me the ick.
But in general this is a cute omegaverse HEA story. I liked the spin of a woman in STEM and the prejudices she faced and the idiocy of well-intentioned but ignorant, privileged men.
In the exhilarating sequel to the Pucking Alphas Series, Melissa Huxley spins a captivating tale of resilience and self-discovery. Meet Alexis, an omega determined to navigate life on her own terms, despite the odds stacked against her. 💪💫
Disguised as a beta, Alexis seizes the opportunity of a lifetime—a scholarship to her bestie's American university. With her libido unchecked and her ambitions soaring, she embarks on a journey of empowerment and liberation. 💃🔥
Huxley masterfully portrays Alexis's journey of self-acceptance and defiance against societal norms. Her refusal to conform and her unwavering spirit make her a compelling protagonist. 🌟✨
What sets this book apart is its authenticity and refusal to adhere to clichés. Alexis remains true to herself, never sacrificing her identity for love or societal approval. 🚀❤️
With an engaging narrative and a diverse cast of characters, including familiar faces from the first book, Pack Power Play is a must-read for fans of hockey and omega-verse romance. 🏒📚
Melissa Huxley delivers another winner with Pack Power Play, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the Pucking Alphas Series. 🎉👏
I loved book one and couldn’t wait for book 2, especially because I was so excited to read Alexis’ story. Badass female women’s mechanical engineer?
The miscommunication/ lying/ keeping secrets that happened really made me mad. Especially when the pack was keeping secrets from her as well, but she was the one who was villainized. There was just a lack of accountability from the men that made me mad.
Also the ending felt like a joke. To read the whole book and at the end they just work it all out and you get like a 6 page epilogue, in which she decides to work for one of the pack mates???? Not the girl boss from the beginning and embrace publicly becoming an omega because she can just work with Teddy? Completely upsetting. I think the author could’ve made this work but I wanted a badass monologue about how she was ready to be herself and had accepted being an omega because she could do both and had her pack supporting her. And stopping her suppressants to go into heat without telling anyone? Where is the healthy communication. I just felt like the “surprises” at the end discredited her entire character and showed no growth as far as communicating with eachother.

Pack Power Play is a sweet, funny omegaverse. I loved that this story is connected to the first in this series but can be read by itself.
First the introduction between Alexis and Teddy is priceless. I love that she didn't take any flack from an alpha. I also loved that he fell for her even though...or maybe because she tased him. I also appreciated that the trials of her being an omega were brought up in this story. Also addressing the pressure that is put on alphas to pick an omega, and how family can be difficult in either situation.
Calvin was the testy one in the pack. There were a few times I wanted to see Alexis use her taser on him. I'm sure his pack would agree that he was owed a little zap.
Miles and Wyatt were just sweethearts. The whole bunch made up a really entertaining story and I'm looking forward to what this author brings next.
“Pack Power Play” is the second book in this series, and it’s just as addictive as the first. This time, the spotlight is on Alexis, Holly’s best friend. Alexis is an omega living as a beta to pursue her dream of becoming a mechanical engineer—a path that likely wouldn’t be open to her as an omega due to misogynistic views. When Teddy, a wealthy student, creates a fake scholarship just to get her to his college, sparks fly—literally. Alexis quickly finds herself torn between a few alphas, all from Teddy’s pack, and the chemistry is off the charts.
This book is fun, flirty, and sizzling, with a satisfyingly happy ending. Sometimes sequels don’t live up to the first, but this one more than delivers. Alexis was a favorite from the first book, and I was nervous about her story—but it exceeded all my expectations. Plus, the supporting cast is unforgettable, especially the legendary Mr. Sparky the taser!
