Timothy Peter Joseph Radcliffe, OP was born in London in 1945. He joined the English Province of the Dominican Order in 1965, and was ordained a priest in 1971.

He was master of the Dominican order from 1992 to 2001 and professor at Oxford University.

Książka jest zbiorem rozmów kardynała Radcliffe’a OP i o. Łukasza Popko OP na temat fragmentów Pisma Świętego. O ile Popko analizuje je w bardzo ciekawy sposób, o tyle Radcliffe szybko ucieka od tekstu w stronę aktualnych zagadnień społeczno-religijnych (Abraham przyjmuje wędrowców pod dębem Mamre? Europa powinna przyjąć migrantów i uchodźców, itp). Przez to książka jest nierówna - wypowiedzi o.Łukasza (i jego własne tłumaczenia analizowanych tekstów z Biblii) są inspirujące, a te kard. Radcliffe’a - przewidywalne i sztampowe. Podczas gdy pierwszy prezentuje jakąś myśl, drugi raczy nas mnóstwem anegdot, z których niewiele wynika…

I found this an interesting and spiritually provoking read that explores and deepens the reader’s understanding of God’s relationship with individuals in Scripture, and offers insights into our own relationships with God and one another. I liked that I felt I was gaining a new information alongside insightful understanding. The interaction/dialogue between Timothy Radcliffe and Lukasz Popko was refreshing and appropriate approach to the subject matter.
