Close to the movie, some language a little less harsh. I was a little disappointed the big surprise was completely left out. Other than that, a very nice read for your kids.

This exciting junior novel retells the story of the family friendly LEGO movie, starring Emmet Brickowski and the extraordinary prophecy.

Emmet, an ordinary LEGO mini figurine, accidentally discovers the Piece of Resistance (the lip of a tube of glue) and is mistakenly thought to be the hero Master Builder from the prophecy. Reunited with the heroic Master Builders, Emmet's mission is to save the world from the evil tyrant Lord Business and his plan to glue the universe together using the Kragel (a tube of KRAzy GLuE).

This novel includes 8 pages of colour photos from the movie and is perfect for LEGO lovers.

The Lego movie Junior Novel is written by Kate Howward. Emmet the main character is a normal person. He goes to work and falls in a hole, while he is falling he gets a piece of lego stuck on his back.A bad police wants to take the lego from him because the lego is special. A girl named Wyldstyle saved Emmet because he had the special piece. Wyldstyle told Emmet that he has to save the world. Will he save the world? I gave the book three stars because it was not that interesting, but some parts were.

I saw the movie, I've read the book now and for the first time ever the movie was better than the book. The kids weren't very engaged or interested. It was a flat book.

You cannot read this book without hearing all of the voices as you go! It was fun, though having seen the movie, there were no surprizes. It is a fun read and definitely one I will read again.

I am volunteering an honest review for the benefit of others.

It was a great novelization. I just noticed that they didn't add the scene where the kid talks to his dad. Nonetheless still great loved it.

Read aloud to the kids. We’ve seen the movie, the book is just like the movie. They loved it, and I liked it too.

I was downloading books for a long train ride and I found this gem at my library's website. If you like the Lego Movie, you will love this. Because it is (almost) exactly the same thing. The ending is slightly different. That was odd, but I think I understand why. No spoilers here.

If you want more character development or story development beyond the movie, you'll be disappointed. There are no outside the film backstories or extra plot background. It is a line for line, action for action rewrite of the movie into a book form. The cool thing is that I read some jokes I missed in the movie.

On the negative side, there were no illustrations. I thought that was odd for a junior reader. Do you?

I read this book with my 9 year old and my 6 year old. We all found it to be quite hilarious. Much of it was quite silly. However, it was a very fun, quick read. My 6 year old didn't get as much of the humor in it as my 9 year old did. She still enjoyed the book, but certainly not nearly as much as my older child.

I liked this book because it is from my favorite movie. Somthing I disliked about the book was how they skipped the most heartwarming parts of the movie. I also loved the moral : any one can be special. I personaly looked down on Wildstyle for not wanting to give Emmet a chance at the beggining of the book. Later in the book she stoped being so hard on him.

I liked the part where Metal Beard turns into a photocopier and the robots sit on his face. Then Metal Beard gets up and shoots them and says "Rule #4: no one puts a tushie on a pirate's face!"

It made me laugh!!
