To save the Earth from utter ruin, I must find a way back into Heaven... and kill an Archangel.
The brutal Archangel who beat me so hard I fell from Heaven has a foothold on Earth, and this time he's gone too far. I crave vengeance, and I won't be denied, but I may need him alive if I have any chance at fixing the damage God left in the wake of Her death.
Faith and Damnation is the second book in a dark, and exciting enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance. If you want to get lost in an edgy universe where God is dead and Her angels are the bad guys, sink your teeth into this!
Katerina Martinez is a widely known author who writes supernatural fiction with a creepy, thrilling, and romantic bent. A veteran of many years of writing, she is the author of Dark Siren, the first book in the breakout Half-Lich Trilogy which became an instant bestseller in 2016. She continues to expand her back-list with books such as Wings of Light, and Heart of the Thief, and Night Hunter - three series starters that all take place in the same world.

This is a good concept but just isn’t executed that well. The whole build up of the second book was that the MMC was coming for the FMC to explain and win her back. Despite being steadfast and strong otherwise, this FMC folds like a lawn chair for this man after two sentences. I like the MMC and all but dang, he should have groveled for more than a single paragraph on a single page. Almost all of the plot felt like info dumping and exposition. There were only a few highlights in which emotions really shined through. And OF COURSE we just waited for a sequel after book 1 ended on a cliffhanger for ANOTHER book to end in a cliffhanger. The entire book is basically one battle.
This is one of those unique stories where it gives you goosebumps - God is dead, and there is chaos everywhere as you can imagine - the story feels so real and is sad to see what became of all the angels as soon as they FELL to earth, and what is becoming to earth itself. The gate to Heaven is closed. The balance is broken. New power to be determine and the few that still believe that good can prevail are face off with Medrion aka the fallen Angel that Sarakiel has a score to settle with.
And the ending?? Lets just say Lucifer is here! He makes himself known and its one shocker you wont see coming!!! Cant wait for the next book!!
Couldn’t get past the first 5 chapters. Just the world building and the chain of events isn’t logical. You’re in the human world but it’s never explained where they are, how they can’t see the Bastions, or the logistics of it. Randomly got Lucifer in there (which seemed like a basic way of setting the plot up later). Are the Tyrant and Sarakiel going to have made up by the first third chapter, the betrayal was literally why I was reading the book. Also now he’s reandimly the guard that was at her prison cell in the first book? Yeah, I just couldn’t deal with it.
This is the second book in this series, and definitely heated up. I've previously said that the first book in the series was the best book Katerina Martinez had written. The second book tops it! God is MIA, Her angels have all fallen to earth, and chaos and destruction ensue. An angelic war is being waged, and it's getting difficult to tell who the good guys even are anymore. A must read. I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting for book 3!
Having followed Katerina Martinez since her first novel, I can say that this is a phenomenal read. The twisting, writhing plot kept me up and reading to the last page. This book is in a new series in the Katerinaverse and I am anxiously awaiting the next book. No spoilers here, just read this series. Happy reading.
The surprise at the end was kind of disappointing. I wanted more at a book too, and it just wasn’t giving what I wanted it to give. I do like the main character and I think she’s a strong female protagonist. It’s not better than book one though.
Slowest of burns and barely any romance. Also only like two chapters in his POV which I hate. This was much more interesting than first book though with all the Angel stuff but romance was severely lacking we only got crumbs.
Like the first the story ends on a cliffy but thankfully I can download the third book straight away. These books have been really good reads. Highly recommended.
⭐2,8 Un poco más de lo mismo, la verdad es que dudo que que siga con esta serie. Básicamente no es la misma historia del anterior libro pero han avanzado un pelín más.
i read both books and there is a third one but i haven't decided if im gonna finish it yet bc i still am not even sure if i liked it fr i finished them super fast be they're only like 250 pages and i thought the fallen angel dynamic was pretty cool but it was painfully underwhelming the action was drawn out and kinda boring, i found myself skipping over a lot of the battle scenes and i just couldn't connect to the main characters or their romance i like a good slow burn but this one was so slow that i started to lose interest FAST. three duds in a row fi guess i can't always have 5 star reads but DAMMIT WHY NOT
