Jade There’s nothing I want more than to forget my past, especially everything that makes me a part of supernatural society. I’d do anything to keep my sister’s and my secret safe and keep our tormentors far, far away.
Turns out it’s harder to disappear than I thought, especially once Alpha wolf West Larkin catches my scent.
West Ever since shifters were outed to the human world, my job as Alpha of the Timber Creek pack has gotten more difficult by the day. Between running a town full of supernaturals, my pack, and keeping my family out of trouble, I have enough on my plate as it is.
So why is it every time I run across Jade Rodriguez, a lone wolf who wants nothing to do with me, I want to drop everything to keep her safe?
Wild Wild Wolf is book one in the new Timber Creek series, interconnected standalones following each of the Larkin siblings.
B. Perkins has been making up stories about magic since she learned how to write words on paper. She has several degrees in various things, and if all they’re good for is to provide background in creating fantasy worlds and systems, then maybe they were worth it.
i love overbearing wolf packs 😍 i will definitely continue reading this series
“Listen to me, Jade. Hear the honesty in my words and remember it. You are not a burden. I would do anything to ensure you’re happy and healthy with everything you ever needed or wanted. You make me want to forget about everything else on my plate until only you are on the menu.”
New book by my favorite pair of authors. And dare I say, my favorite yet. The perfect small town romance story.
Fans of Catherine Cowles and Devney Perry will love this.

I never write these in advance and it’s just stream of consciousness flowing from fingers to phone so bear with me.
THE LARKINS. Have you met them yet? No? Well, you are truly missing out. We’ve rounded out this crew with a whole lotta ADHD, some intense meddling, genuine love and affection, weird recipes you can’t even possibly imagine, pranks galore, and then, of course, West Freakin Larkin.
He’s kind. He’s bossy. He’s a control freak who’s trying very hard not to be. He’s the Alpha’s Alpha, holding everyone together. Until Jade.
She’s a mess. Past trauma has left her trusting no one, least of all herself, and if you’ve ever been on this road, you know how hard it is to change that. The journey to loving West couldn’t have happened if she didn’t see how truly ✨good✨ he is all the way to his marrow, and the way to see that? His dang family.
If you don’t end this book in love with the entire Larkin family just like Jade, we did something wrong. There are tons of teasers in here for each sibling’s story, and @b.p.writes and I are just evil raccoon laughing behind the scenes while we make it happen.
I feel like this isn’t as unhinged as I usually am. There wasn’t even one poop emoji, and I have no idea what that says about me 😂
If I haven’t convinced you yet, go look at the number of times people’s reviews have mentioned group chats, and know I CACKLED while writing them.
💚💚Also, I just have to add, thank you from the absolute bottom of our hearts for the reception this book has had so far. We’re truly blown away. This is the hardest we’ve ever worked on a book, and already, a week in, you’re making every dang hour we put into it over the last year worth it. Keep the reviews coming. Keep screaming about it to your friends. Go read Deadlights Cove if you haven’t. Come see me at book signings. Take pictures of your Timber Creek pack merch. Slide into our DMs and live react. Whatever. Do it all. We love love love you all! 💚💚
Genre: Paranormal Romantic Comedy POV: First, Dual Spice: 3/5 KU: Yes! On March 29th! Rating: 5/5
It's not a secret that I adore this world that Vance and Perkins have dreamt up for us all to enjoy. I am so excited to get to jump back in! I miss the Cove, but I'm absolutely loving the new mountainous setting and cozy cabin vibes here!
I'd highly recommend pregaming this series by reading Deadlights Cove! You don't technically have too, I guess. But you'd be missing out on a lot!
I love an obstinate, headstrong fmc. Jade's spunk was fantastic through the story, but lands her in hot water with the smirky alpha mmc on a number of occasions. It wasn't just with him though, really she had chemistry with the whole family and I adored getting to see her open up and become comfortable with others. Her friendship with the sisters is one of my favorite parts of this story! I'm so excited to get to know the rest of the pack better in the next few books! Dare I say this is a new favorite? We finally get a look at Jade and Ruby's past after hints of it in Deadlights Cove and let me tell ya, it's dark. While there wasn't a ton of dramatic character development for West, I enjoyed his battels with Jade and his seeing his strength as a leader grow and adapt.
Spoiler in this paragraph for the ending of the Deadlights Cove series: I'm intrigued by how the supe community is going to handle being outted now. Obviously, the humans are not taking this information well... can't wait to see what the big conflict will be for this series and story arc!
🐾 flirty staredowns 🐾 strong found family vibes 🐾 slow burn 🐾 chasing waterfalls 🐾 harry potter references galore 🐾 cameos cameos cameos 🐾 strong fmc
Huge thank you to the authors for the gifted eARC! 💕
Gosh I love this writing duo. I have been so excited to start a new series and it delivered. I love the setting and plot. I absolutely love big families and all of the humor and love that’s woven throughout. I was laughing and swooning and just binging this book because it was making my heart feel joy.
I loved West and Jade. The banter was fantastic and I loved seeing Jade slowly but surely open up and realize what goodness was in front of her. And I was very much in the mood for an Alpha romance and West delivered on that front. I loved how protective he was and the way he cared for Jade and everyone around him.
My one tiny tidbit is how Jade handled a situation towards the end, it felt a little out of character after all of the growth she had. It didn’t ruin my reading experience, but I did get a little bugged by it.
I loved all of the wolfy things and the pacing and action and heat. All the tension and all the almost moments. I can’t wait for the next book!!
Overall audience notes: - Paranormal Romance - Language: moderate - Romance: 2-3 open door; low innuendo - Violence: moderate-high - Trigger/Content Warnings: a past abusive relationship, loss of parents (recounted)
I picked this book not knowing it was a spinoff of another series, and frankly it bothered me almost until the end. I just couldn’t tell whether the information I missed was because I hadn’t read the original series or whether it was just the author badly pacing the « revelations ».
It’s one of those books where you’re constantly told that something soooo big and soooo bad happened in the past, and when you’re finally told … it’s done in one or two paragraphs and just seems silly. I was so bored I almost DNFed at 85% ! But I always finish my books.
I didn’t like the h (just too silly), but there were a number of secondary characters I liked a lot.
All in all, the book was too long for its (lack of) plot.
“What’s so special about her?” She’s half-witch. She’s hiding from something. She’s starving. She’s alone. She needs us. She’s mine.
3.75 stars
This was a cute cozy paranormal romance set in a small town with wolves, witches, angels, and vampires.
Asking for help was like a root canal. Sometimes necessary, and always painful.
Jade was so fiercely independent throughout this book, which was nice, and West trying to not be a domineering alpha, and mostly failing, was fun to watch. I love banter, so two personalities like this are great.
“One of the many things that kept my dad busy in retirement was his unintentional bison sanctuary—he insisted they just kept showing up, and he named them all Willie.”
The side characters were super interesting, I’m looking forward to reading about them next. Heath and his…foods…and his Willie😂
“Relax,” he said, and I clenched my teeth. That was always his solution when I was stressed—to relax. Gee, thanks, hadn’t thought of that.
This could have been so much better without the cringy dialogue or long, internal monologues. The names for their wolves were childish and the constant Harry Potter references were annoying for many reasons. In this day and age, there’s no reason to use HP as a reference to pop culture anymore, it's just insulting, JKR is trash.
“Put away your stupid hormones and rip this guy to shreds. Not literally, though, please. I don’t want to go to jail.”
I know this was a spin-off series of the Deadlights Cove series but there were references, people, and relationships I didn’t understand because of that, so it shouldn’t be advertised as a series you can read before the other. There were just too many things that weren’t fully explained because it’s not its own series.
“He was trying to rattle me, and I was going to prove to him that I was unrattleable. Whatever the opposite of a rattlesnake was, that was me. A manatee, maybe. They seemed chill. I’d be chill as a freaking manatee.”
Minus all the stars for Jade not telling anyone about the texts and being dumb. Overall, not great but not bad either.
“I understand you want to stand on your own two feet, but that doesn’t mean someone can’t stand beside you. Can’t have your back.”
I’ve also come to realize that I don’t like my men morally grey, I like them morally black. The ending, for this reason, was a letdown.
“You look good enough to devour, mate,” he breathed in my ear, nibbling the shell of it. “I can’t wait to ruin this dress.”
Thank you to the authors and BOMM for providing me with an ARC.
This book is a paranormal romantic suspense book – but with small town vibes. This book will appeal to those who like the grumpy/sunshine trope (with the FMC being grumpy), and the two romantic leads are both interesting.
This book features several other tropes that I also enjoy including fated mates and a hilarious family group chat. Those were some of the best parts in the book to be honest. I loved all the banter that was between the characters.
Some other things that others might like in this book:
-small town -pnr romance -romantic suspense -alpha MMC -shifters -witches
This book had a very sweet romance, and is apparently a spin-off from another series. Although, I do feel like you don’t really need to have read it, there are obviously easter eggs for people who have read the previous series. (I haven’t, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything).
I will say my one big complaint in this book is all the HP references, I’m not a huge fan of HP, and everything pretty much had a HP reference, I feel like some of that could have been toned back, it was almost overwhelming. There’s nothing wrong with a good cultural reference, I just felt these weren’t incorporated well for my tastes.
Overall, I thought the book was good, and I definitely think this is going to appeal to certain readers.
I absolutely adored this book. Supernatural mountain town, Alpha wolf, found family, headstrong women with an attitude? Say less… Not to mention the Harry Potter and Vampire Diaries references, not only Mario Kart but also Super Smash Brothers! I loved the characters in Timber Creek and already can’t wait for the next book! It was great getting to see more of the world created in the Deadlights Cove series and even got a glimpse of some of the characters in this book!
And yes Jade that is when people yell at the characters in horror movies.
I'm not sure what Aimee and B put into this book to make it so addictive, but I'm obsessed. I absolutely love this fictional world that they've created and the characters are some of my faves.
Like Deadlights Cove (which I also recommend reading), Wild Wild Wolf has lots paranormal characters - wolves, witches, etc., but without a ton of the world building that you'd get in some fantasy series. This makes it SO easy to read, and so easy to get into the characters and the story, without all the 'other stuff'. I love it!
There's lots of romance, an amazing and giant family (with hilarious group text chats), and a little mystery and suspense. There's fated mates (swoon!), alpha heroes (swoon!), late night video games, and a small town in Colorado... let's also not forget the Willies.
If you love Devney Perry and Catherine Cowles type of romantic suspense, you'll love this one!
I can't wait to see what comes next in this series. HIGHLY recommend this one!
my gosh I loved this so much! 🥰 paranormal small town romance between alpha pack leader (wolf shifter) West & lone wolf shifter/half witch Jade 🐺 amazing family + found family vibes protective yet respectful hero highly recommend!
Jade has been running from her past for a long time, but when her life gets turned upside down once again, she doesn't have much choice than to accept the help of the infuriating Alpha wolf West Larkin.
West is drowning in his responsibilities, but as soon as Jade comes into the picture, he is ready to drop everything to make sure she's safe. Will his patience and kindness be enough to convince Jade to stay for good?
And what if her past finally catches up with her?
Freaking wolf, it was so, SO GOOD to be back in this universe. I didn't realise I missed it that much until I was back. The Larkin family is EVERYTHING I hoped for and so much more. Found family at it's best ❤️. Reluctant at first, Jade soon realises, that she might have misjudged West during their few prior encounters. Slowly, she learns to trust him and his family. West, trying to hold back at every turn, to not scare Jade off for good and saying all the things, that had me melting into a puddle of goo multiple times 🫠🫠
And through all of that the book had laughing SO MUCH (group chats...), teary eyed and sitting up while reading 😅
This is definitely a new comfort read for me and I can't wait to head back to Timber Creek to see where B and Aimee will lead us next.
Another absolute banger from my favorite writing duo. I had such a blast reading this book. I am sure it is not a surprise at all that I absolutely loved this book.
Ever since West Larkin and Timber Creek were introduced in Wing and a Miss (Book 3 in the Deadlights Cove Series), I had hoped we would get to see more of him. And this book was an absolute treat! I loved getting to explore Timber Creek and this incredible haven that West and his family created. I can’t wait to see more of it as the series continues.
Holy Hippogriffs, do I love Jade! Watching her move through this story felt like a privilege. She has really been through it and has a past that is chasing her, but it did not diminish her shine. She is still passionate about the things that she loves. She will absolutely demolish anyone at any game. She is so fiercely loyal and protective of her family. I just loved her so much. I would happily let her beat me at Rainbow Road any day.
West Larkin. Alpha to the lost. Extremely protective of those under his care. Amazingly kind and caring. I absolutely loved him. He is everything that Jade needs. Watching him navigate her and her backstory was incredible. He gives space when necessary and is always there to provide support. He never judged her and allowed her the room to just be absolutely herself. It filled my heart right up.
It wouldn’t be an Aimee and B book without an outrageous cast of characters. The Larkin Family and friends are hysterical, and I love them! They will do absolutely anything for each other, and you can just feel their love for each other. You know that thing in books where the town is its own character. That’s the family group chats in this book. I can’t wait until we get learn more about the rest of the family. I am so incredibly excited.
I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series goes, both with each individual character, but also the overarching plot of the series. Trouble is brewing, and it's going to be awesome watching these characters sort it all out!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thanks, Aimee and B!
For anyone who’s been missing the Cove, this one’s for you (and if you haven’t read the Dead Light Cove series what are you even doing ??)
This book did not miss; I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. And now that I’m finished ? I want to go back and live it all again. I cannot wait for more of Timber Creek and the Larkin family!
Wild Wild Wolf follows Jade, a lone wolf, who due to an “unfortunate incident” (no spoilers here… yet) has to stay with the hunky (and in Jade’s opinion an arrogant alphahole) West Larkin and his pack in Timber Creek for her own safety Jade’s past hold lots of secrets and she wants nothing to do with West or his pack. West is determined not only to learn all of Jade’s secrets but also to convince her that she belongs not just with his Pack but with him 😏
Here’s some things you have to look forward to in this wild wild book: 🐾 Slow Burn 🔥 🐾 Found Family 🐾 Fated Mates 💞 🐾 “Mine” 🥵 🐾 Grey Sweatpants (ifykyk) 🐾 Enemies(ish) to Lovers 🐾 Dead Light Cove Cameos ⚓️ 🐾 Supernaturals 🐺
‼️TW‼️ physical and emotional abuse, kidnapping, toxic past relationships (none of this occurs between our two main characters)
Now for some baby spoilers so stop right here if you don’t wanna know anymore 🛑 . . .
I am obsessed with Jade and West’s relationship. I loved seeing Jade’s barrier slowly lower not only to let West in but the whole Larkin family 🥺 the way they all embraced her and her past trauma and took the time to let make her feel safe and loved was so special Also, the slow burn really burned once it burned 😏 (if you know what I mean)
Catch me obsessing about them until the next book is out, which I already know is not soon enough *sigh*
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Packless shifters are being kidnapped off the streets. When Jade, a lone wolf already on the run, finds herself in danger again she (possibly reluctantly) runs to the safety of Timber Creek and their Alpha, West.
Pack politics, human/supe conflict, hidden past trauma, mate drama. You get all that plus a side of family shenanigans - Heath is the king of the double entendre in the most embarrassing dad way, mangling a siblings name for comedic effect is always a win, and I was living for the family group chat! I loved how the wolves have their own distinct personalities, and the battle of wills that crops up between them and their human counterparts. There’s drama and tension with the mystery of where the missing shifters, witches etc have gone and why - especially towards the end! All finished up nice and neat with epilogue made my heart grow three sizes.
This is a spin-off from the Deadlights cove series, and while you probably *could* get by without reading it first I feel like you’d be missing out on a lot of callbacks and familiar characters. Besides why would you want to skip it? It’s a fun series!
Only have two “complaints” - one that, even though they fit perfectly in an emotional way, personally I’d rather Twilight references over HP (Sorry - Don’t come for me!) And two, that when you don’t wait until the series is nearly complete to start reading it you have to wait for more. You don’t get to just mainline an entire series in a month. So unfair, who allowed this?? Waiting is painful!
Thanks to the authors for the arc! Now if you could both lock yourselves away, ignoring the rest of your lives, and write write write I would appreciate it 😉
I adore the world these two authors have created in the Deadlights Cove series, so to say that I was excited about a spin-off series would be a true understatement. When the eARC dropped into my email yesterday (thank you, ladies!), I immediately paused my current read and spent all day with Jade, West, and the Timber Creek world.
Jade's life has left her so gun-shy and with so many secrets that watching the Larkins peel away the layers around her heart is 🤌. I adore the snark, banter, and all-around friendliness of the characters in Timber Creek. The Larkin group chats caused many the LOL moment. And then there is West! Oh, my Lanta! He is the perfect mix of protective and caring, even if it takes Jade a while to see past the glasses of her past to see him clearly. (And the names of their wolf sides are perfect!)
Everything about this book is exactly what I needed and wanted from these two authors. I can't wait to return to Timber Creek!
I loved Deadlights Cove, so when I saw this author team was coming back and heading off to Timber Creek, I knew I had to come along for the ride. And what a ride!
I love West and Jade. I love that West was an Alpha with a heart. He doesn't just boss his pack around, he respects them and offers to support to anyone who finds themselves in Timber Creek. The poor guy has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Jade has been through hell, between trying to protect her sister and just trying to survive on her own. But a wolf shouldn't be alone, and I loved watching her become comfortable with West's family, and with her own wolf. I will admit, I did find Jade a little frustrating at times. I understand why she's closed off and why she makes the choices she does, but she should've asked for help when stuff started to get weird!
The group texts between the family was hilarious and I'm in love with Heath. His dirty little jokes had me giggling, that old man knows what he's doing! I'm excited to learn more about the supporting cast like Max and Cruz. And I loved seeing our old friends from DLC popping up. I miss those characters so much.
I can tell this series is going to be another Must Read and I can't wait to see where the story goes!
Tropes: -Fated Mates -Small Town -Romantic Suspense -Meddling Family
Paranormal romance + romantic comedy is my new favorite combination after reading this book! First of all, I want to be in The Larkin Family. I cannot wait to read the other siblings’ books in this series. The group chats with all of the family members actually had me laughing out loud! I loved the small town vibes of the story and felt like I was reading a book set in a place like Tree Hill or Stars Hollow but with demons, angels, shifters, and witches.
I loved seeing Jade’s character development throughout the story. The authors do an excellent job of highlighting the impact Jade’s trauma has had on her life, especially making it difficult for her to trust others. And West is literally the perfect man, and will do anything for his mate!
Thank you to the authors and Book of Matches Media for providing me with a copy of this book. This review is voluntary, and all opinions expressed are my own.
A paranormal romance with elements of mystery, it beautifully deals with heavier elements whilst still having that cosy small town feel.
I adored this book and cannot wait to spend more time at the Creek…
Some light spoilers ahead…
The relationship between West and Jade is perfect, he doesn’t want to fix our beautifully broken FMC but he does want to help and protect her. I’m not usually a slow burn person but the back and forth and build up between these two was worth every second. The dual POV worked perfectly in this book- juxtaposing our trauma baby FMC and our protective Alpha MMC. A HEA is what you want for these two from the very beginning, and the path may not be easy but I’m so happy they got there in the end.
If you’ve read Deadlights Cove you’ll know that the authors have a knack of writing the most relatable, amazing characters who you cannot help but fall in love with- Jade, West and the rest of Timber Creek are no exception. The family group chats had me actually laughing out loud! Daddy Larkin is definitely giving me Harvey Eaton vibes and I am here for it!
An intriguing supporting cast builds the layers of the story and I can’t wait to find out more about all of them! Particularly looking forward to learning more about Cruz, Cooper and Max 👀
The book is mainly set in Timber Creek but there’s some cameos from much loved characters from Deadlights Cove as well- which may or may not have made me squeal 😂🙈
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
⭐️⭐️ (2 stars) - don’t read this book. Please save yourself. I was self punishing. All the positive reviews are arcs and I don’t trust them one bit given I actually read this painful book.
—
Okay. So this book… this book… is a masterclass in tired tropes and frustrating writing decisions, and I honestly don’t understand the glowing reviews. We did not read the same book. I’m actually kind of mad about it.
Let’s start with the cliché checklist: • Holding onto a “shocking secret” for way too long 🙄 • FMC believing the secret will make everyone—MMC, sister, etc.—hate her or “never look at her the same” —> bc obv this never actually happens. And fine if it was for a little bit of the book but it literally was held until like 95%. • Refusing to let anyone help her because the last time she trusted someone she got betrayed but to a fault (SHE PUTS EVERYONE IN MORE DANGER OVER AND OVER AGAIN BC SHE IS SELFISH AND CANT THINK ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BUT HER FEARS) • Full-blown martyr complex • Her sister is threatened and instead of, I don’t know, telling literally anyone, the FMC just goes off with the bad guy like a genius bc she has to protect her sister no matter what but in reality she puts everyone in more danger again and literally has to be rescued. • Constant “my secret is dangerous but I’ll just keep it to myself while people are getting hurt” decisions • Her old coven is sending threatening messages and she’s like “nope, that’s probably just in my head” even though she knows it’s not - and so refuses to tell anyone bc her holding this secret is literally putting the sock she’s staying with in danger. But again can’t get out of her head and her own shit. • SO. MANY. HARRY POTTER REFERENCES. A little bit is fine. This felt like a wizarding fan club convention.
And just to really drive it home, here are some actual quotes from this book:
“Crap on a kumquat.” “Let me have it. Give me your best Hagrid speech about why I should join your cult…” “Human-me still had some reservations, mainly the hangup over my pesky wolf and our dark past.” “West was good down to the marrow, and what I’d done… he’d never look at me the same.”
By the 70% mark, this book was dragging hard. The conflict felt forced, the character decisions were painfully dumb, and the “I’m strong because I don’t need anyone” angle just became exhausting. There’s a difference between a flawed but learning protagonist and one who stubborns her way into putting everyone in danger over and over again.
This is one of those books where the plot only happens because the FMC refuses to say basic information out loud. It’s not strength. It’s just poor character logic.
Two stars because West (the MMC) was mostly fine and I didn’t DNF it. But y’all… I am begging you to raise the bar. And honestly I’m begging you don’t read this book. I think I was trying to punish myself by continuing on.
thank you sooo much to the authors and book of matches media for the early copy in exchange for an honest review!!
and i literally had no idea i needed this book until i read it 😱😍 i wanted to read it mostly because it features werewolves and other than Twilight and Shadowhunters, i hadn't read anything else with them. imagine my surprise when i found out there were other shifters and supernatural creatures, i was sold 🥰 and then i was sold once again when i read the dual POV and the banter between the MCs 😱😎 it's so fast paced and so well written i can't believe it's co-authored! the characters were a breath of fresh air, specially the Larkins... that family dynamic, i want one 😭 the romance was developed slowly and the smutty scenes weren't as strong as i thought they would be, which is truly appreciated. for real, i really adored this book and i can't wait to read the rest of the series and even their backlog 💕💕
I did ultimately enjoy this but there was definitely frustration. Jade kept a lot of secrets and was so stubborn. Her refusal to accept the pack and West dragged out way too long. Then it seemed like she just did a 180 within one chapter and was all in. Good overall plot line though.
Charmed meets Gilmore Girls in this small town, paranormal romcom.
Wild Wild Wolf introduces us to the wolf shift pack of Timber Creek, Colorado. Each book follows a different sibling, and this one is the Alpha’s love story. West is the eldest of the tight knit Larkin family, and is determined to make Timber Creek a safe haven for any supernatural who needs a safe place.
Meanwhile, Jade Rodriguez is a lone wolf. She’s had a few run ins with West and is determined to keep her attraction to him to herself. But after escaping an attempted kidnapping, she shifts and runs straight to Timber Creek.
I adored watching not only West and Jade’s relationship develop, but also watching Jade let her guard down and build relationships with all of the Larkins. Each of them is so distinct and their family dynamic is just hilarious.
I could not put this one down, and now I am so sad that I am caught up with all of B. Perkins & Aimee Vance paranormal romcoms. 😭😭😭 They are the perfect blend of action, mystery, comedy, and romance for me, and I need something to fill the void until the next one comes out! Timber Creek is a spinoff of Deadlights Cove, but you can read it without reading DC first!
After loving the Deadlights Cove series with my whole heart, I was ecstatic to hear that Aimee & B were writing a whole new series in the same universe! I don’t know what they’re putting in these pages, but I was feral to read it every moment I had a chance!
This book had so many things that I love… found family, small town, banter, fated mates, suspense.
I was invested from chapter 1! I love the whole Larkin clan. The family group chats had me rolling. I love all the little hints for who might be pairing up in future books! I’m thrilled we get another book this year 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Jade & West were everything. I love fated mates, and the way this played out was perfect! Watching their relationship change over time was beautiful and I was so invested. The slow burn was fire when it sparked. Wew 🔥🥵
Jade’s journey was especially tender to read- learning about her past trauma and watching her rediscover herself 🥹💪
All the references and ties to Deadlights Cove made my heart happy. Plus all the puns and pop culture references (Harry Potter fans will be in heaven- I know I was).
I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. I basically need Timber Creek to be a real place so I can just go live there forever, okay?!
Thank you Aimee & B for the chance to read an advance copy. I adored it and can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it.
First of all I want to say this is no reflection on the writing or the story, but in me and the type of books that my mood reader self can get in to. Also I am open to try and give this book a go at a future date to finish, but I haven't got the motivation currently to do so.
The set-up was good, the back story of Jade is intriguing and I liked the potential for future couples/future stories in this story.
However it was a little too slow burn for me and at 52% I was struggling with finding the need to continue and had a break with it, but after coming back to it and trying to continue I've decided to call it a day for now with it.
This definitely is for the people who don't mind a slower burn romance and wants what looks like it's going to be a series with a whole community of supernatural beings, with humans aware of their existence and the consequences of that.
Welcome to Timber Creek! I love this new series from Aimee Vance and BP Perkins. I was sad to finish the Deadlights Cove series, but the Timber Creek spin off does not disappoint.
Jade and West's story is the perfect place to start. I loved their will they, won't they vibes as Jade battles her own inner demons and past throughout the course of the book. I loved the dynamic these two brought to the table and how they brought out the best in each other.
Vance and Perkins also do a great job of weaving the plot through Jade and West's story -- it kept me invested in the story and really demonstrates their ability to balance darker plotlines with humor and banter in all the best ways.
Set in a paranormal mountain town in Colorado, this spin off to the Deadlights Cove series hits hard with all the same small town shenanigans and millennial humor we've come to love from B. Perkins and Aimee Vance.
√ Slow Burn Tension √ Wolf Shifter Mates √ Hilarious cast of secondary characters √ Strong Family Bonds √ Past Trauma Healing
I loved the hot, funny and sweet ways West and Jade were drawn to each other and got under the others' skin. The tender romance was perfectly balanced by laugh-out-loud moments with friends and family that felt all too real and relatable.
I freaking LOVE this book and am insisting the authors turn this into a never-ending series! It’s literally a perfect blend of all things supernatural that work so well. Jade & West were so beautiful and the slow slow burn was so worth the wait. I cannot wait to revisit this world. Immediately will be adding Deadlights Cove series to my TBR. I received this eARC from the authors and Book of Matches Media in exchange for my unbiased opinion. These are my truest enthusiastic thoughts 🩶 Thank you!!
I'm writing this review well after I read the book so unfortunately my review won't deal with too many specifics.
Review thoughts: -the Harry Potter references were intentional but also a little over the top for me. It was a coping mechanism for sure, but it was just a bit much. -I liked how both characters showed up for the other -I enjoyed the fmc and was interested to know what the trauma was that happened or what the backstory was. -It was a fun little mix of romance and mystery
Ultimately I liked it but didn't love it or feel the need to devour it whole.
This book was like getting a warm hug from a friend you haven’t seen for a while. I love the world that B and Aimee have created and now this is bringing a whole new side of that world to the forefront.
There’s a whole new cast of characters in Timber Creek, including my new broody faves, Cooper and Atlas (no, Atlas doesn’t have any dialogue in this book - that doesn’t matter to me), ‘wild’ bison hiding around every corner, and an assortment of baked goods I’d kill for.
