Three years ago, he broke her heart. Now, she’s back in town and he’ll do anything to keep her.
When Nick catches her watching a fetish porno, Amelia isn’t sure what to expect. It certainly wasn’t a proposition to indulge her kinky side with her brother’s best friend—the man who destroyed her heart and confidence in one swoop.
Amelia’s three-year absence had taught Nick one thing—he doesn’t want to live without her. Nick isn’t willing to make the same mistake twice. He’ll do whatever it takes to show Amelia he can make her happy, even if that means learning what it takes to keep her satisfied in the bedroom.
Sneaking around during the holidays, Amelia questions if she can move past their history and trust Nick again.
Romance author Cameron Allie grew up in a small town north of Toronto. As a child she loved stories, and after reading her first romance novel at age fifteen her dreams of writing became singularly focused on the love story. She is currently living in Ontario with her husband, and with her cat, who is constantly trying to interrupt the writing process.
I got this for free on a sale day and it's been sitting around my Kindle since
Feeling a bit sad winter is almost over, I picked this up because it takes place during the Christmas season. ・ ・ ・ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕮⋆˚࿔✎𓂃 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Thank you to the author for the free book in exchange for a review.
I don’t typically like to read a lot of BDSM books. It’s usually not my style. But I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I liked that both characters build a bond over exploring BDSM than one already aware of it. The FMC had fantasies about it but she never really explored it before. It added another layer to the romance that they were childhood friends and already had feelings for each other. If I had any issue with the book it was how the MMC treated her when the book started. I felt she kind of just took it because of her feelings for him. I don’t really like the whole I’m not good enough for you trope or my brother’s best friend. Despite those tropes I still loved the plot and the chemistry the characters had. The pace was done well and the smut wasn’t too much. The author writes really good tension but still gave you the scene she was leading up to. I feel like in any book that’s really hard to do. Either it’s too rushed or it takes forever. Finding that balance is difficult and I was pleased with the results. There was no crazy drama for plot sake and it ended in a way that makes sense. I enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading the next one.
It was alright. It was fairly short but some parts dragged.
Pros: I liked how Nick wanted to try the BDSM scene correctly and that he actually did research into it. I liked how he made sure that Amelia was okay during those scenes and even the cuddling after as a form of aftercare. He was very sweet to her. Wasn't bad for the authors first published novel.
Cons: Some errors that drew me out of the story. I hated Gen's behavior and didn't understand why she was even friends with her to begin with. The confrontation with Cody seemed kinda pointless since nothing really became of it. I didn't really feel a connection with the characters, and there came a time where I was just skimming the sex scenes because of how much of it there was. There was so much that wasn't really explained even though it was mentioned. Like Gabe's fake girlfriend.. like why mention it at all if there was no explanation. Didn't really like how meddling the grandmother was.
I wanted to read a book with some BDSM, and the author supplied me with a free copy for a review. I was all for the exchange, and wasn’t disappointed.
Amelia is home for the holidays. She’s looking for some “private” time when she’s caught by the hero Nick, who does want to oblige her fantasy of master and sub, a fantasy that caused the heroine to end her relationship with a boyfriend who was shocked and disgusted by her fantasies.
There is a problem. As attracted to Nick as Amelia is, he humiliated her in the past since she’s always been in love with him. She has no idea Nick didn’t mean to humiliate her, but he backed off because he is the best friend of Amelia’s brother.
3.5 STARS This is my first time reading this author, and I won the book as a prize. I don't normally read this genre so I went into it with trepidation.
It was good. Just enough BDSM to make it interesting, but not to much that it felt uncomfortable to read. The underlying story of boy falls for best friends sister is one that we see a lot, but it was written really well. The relationship between the characters was built up through the book, and it all flowed well.
She likes his best friend. Has for years. He rejects her at a Christmas party. Surpise he really has feeling for her. But her brother will kill him if he touches her. Que her running away back to college she gets a shitty bf who thinks it is gross she is in BDSM. Ml is down for the BDSM googles and all to find out how to do it. Was kinda meh. But a quick read. The drama is mostly about her keeping the relationship under wraps from her family. The weird tense moments when ex shows up. Semi rapey almost scene. It was ... okay. Doesn't make me wanna complete the series.
I'm not really into romance as it's not my genre, but the author manages to pull off the friends to lovers concept nicely. Good characterizations, solid pace, this story has a few twists and turns that make it an enjoyable read. Worth it.

Loved this book! What a beautiful story, of taking chances, and putting hurt behind them. I loved every minute, and all the naughty stuff was spot on. Definitely one I'll be putting in the 're-read' pile!
I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did but there were times I literally walked around the house holding my phone and reading it. And I'm so glad she's writing more!!! Cameron Allie knows how to write a good story.
Wow! This was better than 50 Shades for me! Loved the characters and the storyline. The spice was incredible! It kept me hooked throughout and I finished it within 24 hours. I liked the author’s writing style and found it easy to read. Highly recommend!
Fantastic, spicy, fast read! Absolutely loved Nick and Amelia and the progression of their story!! Cannot wait to learn more about Gabe and his relationship(s)!!
Nick has had a longtime crush on Amelia, his friend's sister. When he finds out she enjoys BDSM content, he assumes that she wants a real life version of that and with him. So he does a quick Google search and starts up a relationship that is . . . well, not very negotiated or transparent about his total lack of experience. For this reason, I never got into the book. For readers who aren't as concerns with how this dynamic might happen in real life, it may be more enjoyable.
Amelia is a naughty girl deep inside clawing to get out. She wants her first love Nick to be her master. Nick is ready for the challenge. These two light the book on fire. Christmas won't ever be the same❤️
