To live again

Aubrey has lived many lives because of a curse. Sierra Amaz has weaved the old gods of Olympus into this story of love, adventure, and discovery. You never can get ahead of her. You think you might have it figured out and she throws a curve ball.

shut up, I loved this book!!!

it’s starts off pretty slow in the first couple chapters, I honestly had a hard time getting into it, but once you get into it you realize how much you actually need those chapters and I grew to love everything written in them.

This was such an amazing tale of Persephone and Hades and the other gods. The story is focused on Persephone and Hades’ daughter who is cursed and Eben who waited 500 years to see her again. Eben is the true definition of a loyal, down BAD man and we love him for it. He’s strong, and he you seem him become such a MAN in his position of power🤭 Aubrey is such a sweet FMC. To see her figure out her life, come into her own and try to solve her life mysteries is so fun. You get multiple POV chapters in this story and you get to see every faucet of magic in this world and I LOVED it. I love love love mythology and anything with Greek gods, and this book was a brand new twist that had me hooked. The story of their daughter and her curse, the other gods involvements, witches, vampires, dreamwalkers, elementals, orcs, and all things magic intertwined perfectly.

I do wish we got more character developments to feel a little bit more connected with the main characters. I just wanted to delve deep more into emotions and such. And the writing itself isn’t superb, I’m not super into it. But I truly do love this story. But this story was so involved and at the end I still have so many questions. I will be starting the next book immediately. This story is so inviting, magical, and new you’ll never want it to end.

P.S Hades and Persephone will always be my favorite loves🫠🥹🫶🏼
“When Persephone turned to Hades, and her smile widened, his heart leapt. If he needed to breathe to live, he’d have died ages ago. All these years and she still took his breath away. Her pale blue eyes reminded him of bright sunny skies. He needed that. She was his light.”

Many thanks to Sierra Amaz and Booktasters for providing a copy of this book for an honest review.
The Birds and the Bees (AfterEver Book 1) is a thrilling story about two lovers who meet but are separated.

In 1485, Thane meets an amnesiac woman who lands on his late mother's rose garden. He gives her the name Rose. An attraction builds between the two. However, Rose is plagued with nightmares, and a voice tormenting her. She realizes that her presence brings death and disease and she dies young. Rose is actually Macaria, the daughter of Hades and Persephone. Whenever she goes topside, she has no memory of her life with her parents and feels drawn to return topside.

When Thane and Rose consummate their love for each other, she brands him with the Eye of Persephone mark so that they are always connected to each other and leaves after writing him a note with instructions.

Five-hundred years later, Thane, going by the name Eben and living with a vampire coven, finds Rose again, her name now Aubrey. When she is seriously injured by an orc, he makes the tough choice to turn her into a Dream walker. When Aubrey chants a prophecy through trickery from a warlock, suspicions are afoot of a conspiracy scheme involving gods, vampires, shapeshifters, witches, and orcs. With a jaw-dropping ending, the story leaves you anticipating the next installment.

Moving at a fast pace, the story kept me intrigued with well-written characters and steamy love scenes. Five stars, I recommend adding this story to your collection.

Beyond thankful to both Sierra Amaz and Booktasters for presenting me with the opportunity to read this amazing novel! Though the story seems to start out slow, the more I read, the more I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen with the main characters, Thane and Rose (who later become Eben and Aubrey). I would stay awake late at night trying to devour this novel with the hours passing me by. Eben and Aubrey's story of love that transcends the ages, and is still just as passion-filled following their separation of 500 years, is truly one to behold and through Ms. Amaz's writing, I have fallen in love with these two characters. I love the incorporation of Greek mythology by bringing in the perspectives of Hades and Persephone who are trying to protect their daughter, Macaria, from a prophecy that does not allow her to live past the age of 33 but which still draws her away from the Underworld and into the human world above. I was also a fan of the many pop culture/literature references scattered throughout this book adding humor. This book also includes steamy romantic scenes, reincarnation, orcs, vampires, warlocks, Dreamwalkers, and a looming prophecy. Overall, I would recommend this story to all lovers of fiction looking for a gripping story that allows the readers to see things as they are experienced by the different characters. I genuinely cannot wait for the next installment in this series!

I got the option to beta read this book. I will admit the first couple of chapters can seem a little slow, it builds a hell of a story that weaves true events that happened in history, Greek mythology, and the usual suspects of vampires and werewolves, and other paranormal legend into a braid of prophecy, intrigue, adventure, and near death experiences. I admit the fire on my imagination was lit from the first paragraph, it does feel slow to get going but that is due largely that this is a foundational book that anchors an 11 book series, with from what I hear at least 2 spin off series. I read this book on an all night binge and am waiting for the next in the series. I have been told that the second will start in a new place but will eventually circle back to the series as a whole. I found the characters are fun and sassy, and full of their own back story. I can't even decide who I love more. I love me a good long series to get my teeth into, if the rest of this series is as good as this first one, I think my drought of book boredom is over!

It took me a while to get around to finishing this book, so I had to reread the first couple of chapters a few times.

Now, this may have skewed my perception of the book a little because the book starts off quite slow and then builds pace. But it was certainly not what I'd expected.

I love Anne Rice's novels, and Charlaine Harris' books are good as well; and I'd grown accustomed to the usual vampire romance cliches but Sierra managed to bring something new to this rickety old table!

When I began reading and saw Hades and Persephone were involved, I was confused. Greek mythology? Where did that come from? My interest was effectively kindled.

This book has so many elements, I was rushing to keep up. I'm guessing it is only the start to a series with much more to share.

I'm still a little split over how I feel about it but it was an enjoyable read regardless. It sits comfortably between the old and new world, balancing its own narrative involving mythical entities from different eras.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thanks to Booktasters and Sierra Amaz for this book!
This is not normally my cup of tea at all, but I really enjoyed it. The book is lengthy but it moved at a really great pace and the plot was incredibly involved, without ever becoming over complicated. I'm not terribly educated in the world Greek mythology, but Amaz makes it relatable and understandable by drawing modern day/popular culture parallels, so I never felt lost or confused. Even with the characters being reimagined with new identities years later in the story, Amaz keeps things very understandable, and most importantly, interesting. The imagination on display is incredible! Warewolves, vampires, orcs, warlocks, etc are all part of the mix, but there is also lots of romance, action, pathos and intrigue. There really is something for everyone in this novel. I can tell that Sierra had a lot of fun writing this, and I had a lot of fun reading it.

Firstly, Sierra Amaz has a wonderful way with words.
Secondly, the storyline in this book is FAN-TASTIC. I could NOT put it down. There is a saying that everything has been done, there are no new ideas and while I do agree with this statement, I know that there are endless ways to put things together.
Sierra Amaz managed to change something that so many people have done before and make it new, interesting even. She had me wanting to read the whole book in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed the fantasy and the magic and the intrigue (I didn't mind the steamy stuff either ;) ) I felt that this book was a unique take on witches, magic, prophecy. The main characters, (whose names change once or twice) Eben and Aubrey are challenged in mind bending ways to protect each other and you know, the rest of the world. no biggie!
This book was thrilling and exciting. I encourage you to add it to your TBR pile (and actually read it!)

I got to read this book thanks to booktasters and I dare to say it's the best one I've got to read. Even though in the beginning I felt like the development of Thane and Rose relationship was a little too fast, then it just got better. It was funny, intriguing, sexy. This story has everything I love: past lives, greek mythology, romance, magic. I enjoyed it a lot.

Another aspect I enjoyed was that, even if Rose, Macaria and Aubrey were the same soul I noticed how their personalities were a bit different. I liked that in particular because in every one of those lives she grew up in different backgrounds that conditioned her personalities.

To conclude, I loved, laughed and was amazed by this story and its characters.
