Hadley’s upstairs neighbor is the world’s most annoying muscly alpha. Darius Pentembole parties too loud, plays his music too loud. Heck, he even walks too loud. Never mind that Hadley might’ve seen him picking some kittens off the street. The thing is that Darius is always with a different omega. Not that Hadley’s a failure at dating. No. He’ll sign up with the Perfect Match Dating Agency, and he’ll laugh in Darius’ face when he finds his perfect person. The only catch? Darius shows up to that date. As Hadley’s perfect match. Nope. Not happening. Hadley’s getting out before his heat begins.
This is a one-sided enemies-to-lovers MPreg romance, 32k words, featuring a grumpy tattooed omega and a sweet, possessive alpha. No cheating but definitely a HEA!
Perfect Match Springtime is a multi-author gay romance series. The stories are non-shifter omegaverse, with high heat and low angst. Male pregnancy is possible in the world. Each individual book can be read as a standalone, features a new couple, and a satisfying happily ever after. Enemy Match features a one-sided enemies-to-lovers relationship, accidental pregnancy, Hadley reluctantly falling in love, and a happily ever after.
- Omegaverse - Age Gap (10yrs) - MPREG - Grumpy/Sunshine - Neighbors - Florist/IT Tech - Somnophillia
This is pretty much 85% smut and 15% plot, if you're lucky. I don't normally mind little plot with high heat but this one just felt like one long stretch of a session and not much else. Hadley is supposedly always grumpy and it's why he's single. He's been extra grumpy because his new neighbor, Darius, who lives above him makes too much noise and keeps him from sleeping. Hadley decides to get revenge for some reason by getting a date from Perfect Match to bring home and make a bunch of noise with. Yeah, okay...
Hadley gets to the date with his 96% perfect match and it's none other than Darius. He's angry now and his heat is triggered, so he turns around and runs home. Not the smartest or safest thing for an Omega in heat to do, but yup run on Hadley. Darius takes Hadley home to safety and leaves him there alone, per his request. Hadley makes it not even a full day before he goes to find Darius to help him with his heat. Hadley gets to know him and Darius tries too woo him, but really they're just screwing the whole time. Then Hadley runs again. He just gave me a headache I think so it didn't work for me.
Darius doesn't give up on his perfect Omega and they work it out in the end. The epilogue is cute to see them in the future, like 6yrs later.
There's nothing wrong with the book and Wineheart fans will enjoy it, it just wasn't what I was looking for when diving into the Perfect Match Agency: Springtime.
Oddly enough, I just finished and loved Wineheart's new noncon bro-cest book, so all is not lost!
I liked the enemy neighbors to perfect match lovers angle and it started off well. There's even a Shoulder Job, yup, getting off on someone's shoulder. But after that it's just nonstop sex and not enough of anything else, I got bored.
There is NO such thing as too much sex, for me anyway. But there needs to be something else to hold my interest and the sex can't be repetitive.
Also, enough with the kids making jokes about sexual stuff, I skimmed past all the snake jokes in other series, but it's continued here.
I find I'm starting to prefer Wineheart's taboo/noncon books.
4/5. Highlights may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Wineheart comes out with another short, sweet banger. We’ve got lots of sex, size difference, cute grumpy/sunshine. Most of all it has my favorite thing — a florist MC!
The flower language stuff is so fucking cute. I love florist MCs and just, ugh. That scene had me dying. I loved how Darius took care of Hadley and saw through his grumpiness. Another reader said this was dubious consent but I’d didn’t really read it like that — if Hadley wanted to leave, he could have. He just gave himself excuses not to.
Overall, if you want some short and smutty omegaverse romance, go with this! The “enemies to lovers” aspect isn’t emphasized on much though, if you’re looking for that.
First of all, a warning is in order. Consent is dubious in some parts of the story, I have no issue with dub con but a lot of people do. I felt the whole situation was more like manipulation from one part to get the other to agree than dirty talk between two people who actually wanted to be together. It’s not written in a way that clearly shows an attempt from the Alpha to court the omega and convince him to give him a chance, it came out like the one with power taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation (Heat) to manipulate him into agreeing to something he had said time and time again that he didn’t want. Consent is important, and dubious consent in fiction is fine, it can be great when is written well, but I think it must be stated up front, it is something that can upset readers so a warning is necessary.
Moving on, I never thought I’d leave a 1 star for a book in this series… it is one of my favorites and I was really excited to see a second season coming up, but this book is not up to the quality of both the writing and the story that Roe, Merry, and Wendy set in the first season.
The writing is sloppy, repetitive, with many mistakes. The story has a really cool premise, but it lacks in the development, it is flat and shallow, and it seems like the author’s only interest was to fill the pages with smut, which is not really what this series is about. All books in the series are really hot, but that is not what they are about.
I always finish the books I start, so far I have only gave up on three books, and this is one of them. Sadly this book really doesn’t belong in this great series, it lowers the quality of the series as a whole.
It was alright, felt a bit all over the place. Low angst quick read.
The worst chapter was the sleeping chapter, it made no sense to have the pov from someone who was sleeping but could hear and recall everything perfectly as if they weren’t sleeping. Throwing in a couple “I was still asleep” throughout the paragraph didn’t convince anyone they were actually sleeping. It should’ve been told from the other mc pov.
My 2024 Reading Challenge for the month of February will be Beat The Backlog work (digital and print books). I'm going to claim this also includes keeping up with a multi-author series I started. Here's Anna Wineheart's "Enemy Match." It's the second novel in a new multi-author series called "Perfect Match Agency: Springtime." ["Hadley’s upstairs neighbor is the world’s most annoying muscly alpha.
Hadley’s getting out before his heat begins."]
I loooove how it was enemies-to-lovers. From one side. Hadley haaaaated Darius. Darius didn't even know Hadley existed (not in a mean way, just in a you-can't-know-every-neighbor-in-your-building kinda way).
But Darius fell hard, and he fell fast. He was quite possibly in love the moment he set eyes on Hadley (Hadley hated him more at first--and second--sight). He was quick to make Hadley trust him, feel safe with him, and while trusting his hear thing took time, Hadley wasn't far behind on the love.
And yet another author to add to my to-binge list.. I'd say it's a hardship (my goal this month was to remove people from that list), but this was really good so..
Hadley and Darius's story is an entertaining somewhat enemies to lovers alpha/omega romance, with a first blind date that turns to a heat mating. Hadley has been furious with his noisy upstairs neighbour for three months and nothing has changed despite sending notes and shouting. His shock and anger when it turns out Darius is supposed to be his perfect match is enough to have him turn around and leave, but it doesn't stop Darius from chasing him. I like how much he tries to deny himself but when it comes to mates and heats, there is no stopping that ride once they're introduced to each other, especially when Hadley is literally just one floor down from the alpha. What follows is an intense time of heat, knots, mess and talking. The latter is not something Hadley was prepared for, how the two men connect and he comes to think differently on the younger man. Darius is clearly enamored with Hadley and does all he can to draw the omega in, with lots of sweet talking and ensuring all his needs are met during his heat, and hopefully after, if Hadley will face up to the new bond they now share. An enjoyable story, in perfect Anna Wineheart style. An omega with attitude, an alpha with heart, and full on hot, sexy times followed by a HEA. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
This was honestly one of the dumbest books I’ve ever read, but somehow also contained grade A dirty talk. What a weird juxtaposition.
The characters were the opposite of likable and around 200 pages carried just on filthy words was a pass for me… still though, great job with that one thing. It was the only part of this book that didn’t feel forced.
Hadley hates his upstairs neighbour, Darius, for being so loud at night causing him to lose out on sleep. To get back at Darius for all the noise, he has the grand idea of hiring an agency to find his perfect match so they can hook up and have tons of loud sex to disturb Darius-a dumbass idea, I know. Lo and behold, Darius ends up being the perfect match and upon meeting, Hads has an induced heat from just smelling Darius and the rest is history. It is sorta enemies to lovers because Hads really didn't like Darius over the whole noise issue and other things, but it's not like enemies enemies.
Hads is older (34), works in a flower shop, has tattoos & is the omega, while D is 24, has rich parents but works in IT at a school, & is the alpha. My only gripe with this book is that I didnt really buy that Hads was older though cos of how immature he came across. Funnily enough, Darius himself calls this out in the book noting that it feels like they are both the same age, and I definitely agreed there. Having an age gap didn't really add anything to the story, aside from making Hads look immature, so it probably would've been better to just keep them similarly aged.
Romance wise, this was an absolute fuck fest but it was also really sweet as well. I loved how down bad they were for each other. I mean Hadley freaking got a "Darius' breeding hole" tattooed on his asscrack as a surprise for Darius after Darius had joked about wanting him to have that tatted. Darius too was also so possessive over Hads, wanting to mark him all up, wanting Hads to know and believe how much he felt for him; argh they just fit each other so well...like they are each other's.... Perfect Match
The reviews say this is a sex fest which i absolutely agree with - I mean, there should be a cumming counter for this book because the amount of times they both cum, I'm surprised they didn't die from dehydration. However, it also read really wholesome and incredibly sweet to me. Darius was such a sweet alpha being extremely romantic confessing his love for Hads with the various types of flowers moment, him affirming Hads when he felt insecure about his pregnancy bod and just the many times he worked so hard to say and show Hads how much he cared for him and adored him, argh they were adorable.
Overall, its an amazing erotica. If you're in the mood for raunchy sex with tons of sweetness as well I highly recommend.
Oh, what a blast it was! This book, even though it's part of the Perfect Match Agency series, retains the excellent qualities/trademarks that Anna often incorporates into her books, including the age difference - older omega and younger alpha, which I particularly love! Darius was really charming and Hadley grumpy, fitting perfectly into the grumpy-sunshine trope :D And that's another one of my favorite tropes!
I enjoyed pretty much everything here, from starting off as one-sided enemies, to Darius being patient and persistent in winning over Hadley, to Hadley resisting but not really being able to resist completely, which was sweet! And I loved the secret tattoo surprise at the end :D So cute and clever. :)
Though the book is short, it's flawlessly written, with a great pace, engaging and steamy sex scenes, and well-developed personalities! These are all Anna's trademarks that always bring me back to her.
Unfortunately, since I'm not a US citizen, I don't have an option to enjoy Kindle Unlimited and have to buy full-price ebooks, but with Anna, it's never a risk, but a sure thing! The customer is happy :D
A wonderfully steamy enemies-to-lovers romance. Things move fast, both in love and lust, and it’s just amazing! Like the most delicious dessert, the perfect treat to help you escape reality for a moment. The Perfect Match Agency is a little less present than in previous stories in the series, but they have absolutely worked their magic again by pairing Darius and Hadley. What I loved is that the omega character is the grumpy one in the relationship this time, with the alpha bringing sweet golden retriever energy and being incredibly caring. I love Darius for respecting Hadley’s wishes when they first meet and Hadley is less than enthusiastic at discovering who his perfect match is. Darius is a romantic genius for telling Hadley with flowers how he feels. And reinforcing the message with passionate shenanigans. Darius is younger than Hadley, and I really liked how that played out. Darius’s youthful optimism is a welcome balm for Hadley. All in all, a great addition to this series!
Picture an apartment building, at least two stories, add in thin walls and creaking floors, which the person below listens to night after night; that would be Hadley listening. Hadley’s an omega who works during the day and hears the person upstairs walking the floors at night and having sex with someone up to three in the morning; that would be Alpha Darius.
Hadley hates the person upstairs and wants revenge, so he applies to a dating agency. He hopes to find someone to have wild sex with and make enough noise to get back at Darius. The only problem is when he meets his perfect match for dinner, who is sitting on the chair at their tablet as his date, Darius.
The back and forth between the couple with Darius trying to prove to Hadley that he is a great guy, but of course, Hadley’s pride kicks in and makes it difficult. That was before his heat comes on with being Darius's mate and the Omega, Hadley, needs an Alpha to feel fulfilled. So, there’s a lot of sex going on, pages of sex, with downtime to eat, drink, and talk to each other and get to know one another. I’ll let you read the book to find out their HEA ending. It's an adorable Mpreg story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Omega Hadley's neighbour is annoying and very noisy alpha Darius Pentembole who plays music too loud and even walks too loud. He is always seen with another omega on his arm but Hadley might have seen him pick up some kittens off the street. So Hadley signs up with the Perfect Match Dating Agency determined to find an alpha of his own to make noise with. hen he turns up to meet him it is a complete disaster as Darius shows up for that date. So Hadley gets up and runs before his heat starts.
This was an enemies-to-lovers story set in the omegaverse with two neighbours who were the perfect match (if only Hadley could move past his dislike of his annoying neighbour). I enjoyed the way that Darius did a lot of care of his omega even if it was not always graciously received. Eventually, they developed a good relationship which was underpinned by a great physical relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with mpreg.
I have read this book via Kindle Unlimited and this is my honest opinion. I was struggling where to start as there is very little in the way of a storyline. Hadley dislikes his upstairs neighbour Darius. Hadley goes out on a date with his "Perfect Match" that turns out to be Darius. Hadley goes into heat and Darius goes into rut, let the games begin! There is a brief respite when Hadley finds out about being pregnant, unfortunately, for the reader, this is a very short chapter told from Darius's perspective. Then the "adult fun" starts anew! The plot is very basic and minimal as it's mostly very graphic "adult fun". I did expect more from an author who I do follow, her books are usually very plot driven. Overall this is an okay second book in the series which would have been a better read if the main plot was more focused on. Sadly I won't be investing my time any further with this series as I abhor the whole "throuple" trope.
4.5 One-sided enemies to lovers omegaverse erotic romance. Enjoyed, doesn't have the typical overly angsty internal monologue à la Wineheart. A reference to food play instead of food play (:')) and I enjoy the mix of omegaverse we get in these novels - shall check out the rest!
Part of the reason I gave this all the stars was that I feel like this book was the result of one of my AMA questions :'D Thank you for ALL the everyday stuff while knotted!! The somnophilia from the sleeping POV as in "this is what I would have felt and heard if I'd been awake" was a choice...one I didn't particularly care for but definitely interesting
NSFW infos: 34 year old tattooed grouchy omega florist 24 year old alpha (two heads taller) knotting heat and rut cockwarming belly bulging breeding womb fucking bondage somnophilia moving around on the knot semi-public fucking in workplace plugging cum in replica cock dildo intercrural
Hadley is tired of dealing with his alpha neighbor and on a whim, he decides to try his luck at using the Perfect Match Dating Agency. Little does he know that Darius will be the one he is matched with. Can Hadley and Darius really be a perfect match or have the dating agency gotten it wrong this time?
I loved meeting Hadley and Darius. The two are good together and watching the way their relationship grows makes for an engaging read. Darius is a good man and it was nice to see the way he fought hard to win Hadley over and prove his worth. I enjoyed the banter and the teasing between the two as they spend more time together. This is hot and sweet story that will have you believing in love.
Hadley is an omega who's so over his upstairs neighbor Alpha, Darius. The guy is noisy and completely ignores any communication. Hadley plots revenge in the form of Perfect Match in order to keep Darius up all night. As they meet for a dinner date, Hadley is thrown into heat and Darius into rut. Spending time together includes scorching hot bedroom games and them slowly getting to know one another. Hadley is a grump with a secret, soft heart and Darius is also a sweetheart who just wants to show Hadley how perfect he knows he is. Which he does, repeatedly. I loved seeing Hadley finally accepting that they're perfect together and that he is loved and cherished.
Such an amazing read! Hadley absolutely despises his upstairs neighbor but has never actually met the man. He is too loud and keeps him awake at night, so Hadley signs up with the Perfect Match Agency to find someone that will make him loud to bother his neighbor. Who he gets matched with definitely was not who Hadley thought it would be.
I loved reading Hadley and Darius’ story! It was full of heat and had some romantic moments that I loved. It is mostly steamy, but I enjoyed it. Their story was told very well and I would love to read more in this multi-author series. I highly recommend this book and give it 5/5 stars!
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Very quick read! I must say I read a few of the first set of perfect match novels and this is the filthiest by far! It’s basically 150 pages of heat s3x and 10 pages of story. I rated it four stars because that’s actually about what I expected (well maybe not so much s3x), but I expected it just to be fun, ridiculous and that’s what I got. Hadley was pretty hilarious with his grumpiness and Darius was the perfect Alpha for him.
Terrible in the best way! Not disappointed that I read this one.
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
This Mpreg enemies to lovers story is very touching in how Hadley thinks Darius is trying to drive him crazy on purpose and is a very bad overhead neighbor. I like how Darius proves Hadley wrong and how they were matched to almost 100 percent by the matchmaking company and Darius proves that the match was perfect. The reveals and dedication make this story sweet and gives the reader Awws.
DNF, because I just couldn't deal with Darius walking around with Hadley mounted on his cock for the THIRD time in 24 hours. He's pouring come into Hadley's womb with regular intervals, while first making eggs and bacon, then stocking up on drinks and snacks, and finally opening the door when the courier service drops off their new toys. Each time with Hadley. Mounted. On his knot. Clinging to him like a baby monkey.
I almost strained an eyeball. I mean, come on. None of us expect great art from this series, but this is just stupid.
This was a steamy little book. I was not expecting so much hotness with the sweetness, but I'm here for it! The Perfect Match multi-author collaboration is one of my favorites. If I need a guaranteed low-angst, sweet, spicy read, they're the perfect go-to.
This book is well written with no glaring typos. The pace was good for a shorter book, and I really liked Hadley and Darius' chemistry. Sometimes, I just need a quick escape from reality, to focus on something positive and loving, and this book met that need.
As the story begins you have one grumpy omega who is pitching a fit. You have one oblivious alpha who is very easy to love. Though they may not be a match made in heaven to the average eye, they so are! This book is saucy and spicy with lots of heart. Matches made by “Perfect Match Agency” are keeps as this book proves. A fun story that keeps you reading. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
