Rate this book
A woman who wants to take back her future.

A man who can’t outrun his past.

What do you do when you are told you will not have a future? This is a question that Miss Grace Winter has often asked herself since an old Romani woman told her she couldn’t see anything in hers. The answer is you don’t believe her. As the daughter of the wealthiest Baronet in Britain, she should hold the world in the palm of her hand. But the world doesn’t favour a woman who hides in linen closets and has peculiar hobbies. If only a charming rogue didn’t persist in making her want things she can’t have…

What do you do if you can’t escape your past? Sebastian Sinclair, Viscount Bellmore, doesn’t have a care in the world. His silver tongue can get him everything he wants. He is also a war hero, which women find irresistible. He can almost forget… He has buried all so deep inside him that nobody will ever find it. Not even a perceptive young miss who intrigues him and isn’t fooled by his winning smile.

And what do you do when the past refuses to stay buried, and the future appears very different from anything you —and fortune-tellers— could have foreseen?

Unforeseen’ is the second book of the ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ series, where a perceptive Heroine decides to help a Viscount find his HEA. It is a standalone historical romance, but many beloved characters from ‘Saving You’ will have their say.

Val Guildthorne was born and still lives in Italy (alas, far away from the sea and the Alps!). Her passion for reading started when she was very young, feeding her lively imagination. She voraciously read everything from thrillers to the classics of Italian literature until she discovered romance, in particular historical romance.

After a master’s degree in specialised translation and interpreting at the University of Bologna (aka Alma Mater Studiorium, the ‘Nourishing Mother of the Studies’, the oldest University in the world), she started working as a translator and interpreter. Her job, and her love for travelling, give her the opportunity to spend some time all over Europe, especially in the UK and in Germany.

When translating other people’s words wasn’t enough anymore, on the advice of her wise cat, she decided to follow her dream of bringing to life those stories that have always been there, in the back of her mind.

Hello! Welcome back! Thank you for choosing to read my second novel!
Like every good story, the journey has been long and not without struggles, but 'Unforeseen' is finally here! Grace and Sebastian know something about struggles, even from some unforeseen (wink wink) sources. I won't say anything more. I hope you enjoyed or will enjoy their story.
Love,
Val
