Magus' Gambit
Fleeing in secret from the Imperium, Koth is bound east with the man who killed his brother. Radij and his sister have managed to convince Lady Jakira Nolstrum that they can break Lamont's power, and she seems keen on keeping them alive to stop a full-blown rebellion brewing back home. Koth was hoping to wait for Radij to get caught in his web of lies and dispatch the mage.
Then she marooned him.
Well, not quite marooned, but he wasn't planning on having others who fight the supernatural on that island kidnap his aunt, either. Koth has to decide to either try to find Una, or continue on as she instructed him and leave her to contend with the fanatics on her own.
Radij, meanwhile, abandons Jakira once he and his sister are safely away from his former master's territory and flee north. His sister is still having visions and dreaming dreams, and other covens will happily dispatch the rogue mage to risk a glimpse at possible futures so they can try to weave favor into their fortune. When her brother is captured by a rival coven, Iona might have to risk getting help from the one person making her brother's impending demise personal.
