Thank you, Natasha Dubois, for sending me a free copy of Starting Over with Her Billionaire Boss in exchange for my honest review.

In this small-town romance, we follow Kinsley as she moves into her grandmother's home for a fresh start.

Daegan is a businessman who's been trying to buy that house for months, but Kinsley's grandmother always refused. Now that she's passed away, he thinks it will be easier to convince her granddaughter to sell... but it's not.

Kinsley starts working as his personal assistant without knowing he's trying to buy her house, and he has no idea she's the one who just moved in. That part was well done because.. she doesn't have the same last name and they haven't met so the revelation later on was well done.

Their connection is quick, but it takes time to build into something more because they both have past hang-ups and fears that prevent them from giving love another chance. I liked their character development and backstories—both characters felt real.

The plot does lose focus at some points. The whole "him wanting to buy her house" storyline isn't addressed much as their relationship develops, and then it becomes the main "conflict" between them (that and Daegan's jealousy towards a potential "rival"). However, both issues turn out to be misunderstandings/miscommunication, which is why I can't give this a 4- or 5-star rating. The "miscommunication" trope is overdone, and here, sadly, it's too predictable to be enjoyable. I mean, they haven't even gotten together yet, and we already know she'll think he only wants her for the house and leave, and then he'll chase her. There were a few hints thrown about this happening, but honestly, they weren't necessary because it was already obvious.

However, if you're not very plot-driven or if you don't mind a predictable storyline, this could still be a good fit. The book doesn't have a crazy amount of spicy scenes (and nothing hardcore), but what it has is well-written. It’s sweet, loving, and almost desperate at times. The pining was on point, to be honest. Also, consent king!! We love to see it.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable read. I just would have preferred if the miscommunication trope had been less obvious.

I always love a cute love story with or without some filling, and this one was stuffed with plot and emotion. The characters are realistic, and the plot reminds me of the Hallmark movies my own Grandma would have on the TV every time I'd go to visit her! Compared to what I normally read, this was a breath of fresh air. Personal spice level? 🌶 but still wouldn't read in public. These characters are respectful to each other and Deagan? Absolute cinnamon roll.

I received an ARC from the author, Natasha Dubois, for an honest review!

*spoilers*

I’m excited to dive into this review. I was impressed that this was the author’s debut book. It had so many of my favorite elements in it like forced proximity, billionaire boss, workplace romance, etc. It was an easy read and kept me wanting more. I love good tension building so the long awaited hook up kept me thinking about it even when I’d put it down for the night.

I liked the plot and the creativity of her moving into her grandma’s house she inherited and him wanting to buy it. It was a different storyline I hadn’t heard yet.

I also thought it was nice that the MMC Daegan asked for permission over and over because it’s different than the MMC’s I have been reading lately.

When I read the story, I could picture the town of Trueport in my mind. I pictured the cute little neighborhood where Kinsley’s grandma’s house was and it reminded me of the little neighborhood my grandma is from. I enjoyed Aunt Tilly and her “craziness” while they visited his family.

I liked how the story ended with everyone getting what they want, which is a saved town and the great idea of the bed and breakfasts.

My one criticism would be that it all happened so fast. They worked together for a while so I get the tension and feelings were already kind of there but they were together one time when they both felt it was love. Then they were basically end-game by the end of that one weekend trip. I guess I would have liked to have more encounters together where we knew they were beginning to feel love and not just the first time they do anything sexual.

Final thoughts- I really enjoyed this book. The tension, the characters and the easiness of reading it, all made it enjoyable for me. I am so impressed that it is the author’s first. I am excited to read the next 2 in this series, as well as anything else the author puts out!

4/5 stars for the story 2.5/5 chilis for spice level

It is hard to believe Starting Over with Her Billionaire Boss is a debut novel by author Natasha Dubois which a very good one that follows the beginnings of a wonderful love story of two people who find each other through heartbreak and perhaps fate.
Kinsley Pruitt has returned to the town of Trueport after inheriting her grandmother’s old Victorian home with plans to turn it into a bed and breakfast as tribute to the women she loved, while keeping the family legacy alive.
Daegan Westerhouse CEO of Waterhouse Investment Group has plans to build a luxury resort to save Trueport which is slowly withering away as people leave for the cities, a way for him to pay tribute to his late father’s legacy.
The only hold up is the sale of the house that now belongs to Kinsley.
I so enjoyed this story whose writing was exquisite, characters well developed and personal vulnerabilities heart felt in a story that unfolds against a beautifully painted canvas.
Looking forward to reading more in future from this author.

This was an adorable short read, one that made my morning just fly by because I couldn't put the book down once I started it.

There is some definite work to do between our main characters in the way they simply stay put in their own heads rather than communicating what they need to say to one another. It inevitably leads to a lack of understanding and then causes tension and drama that is unnecessary and over the top once it comes to a head before they manage to cool each other off.

And steam each other right back up again in other moments. Admittedly the spice is perfection. It's not smut for the sake of smut, as a lot of short stories can be. This one has the scenes right when the moment feels perfect, and the locations are something of a dream come true (or perhaps it's all fantasy realm for some of us??) because they call out to you on a personal note, your mind telling you that you know you wished you could do it too!

All in all, it was sweet and endearing and it pulls at your heart strings. You'll love it!

This book was an unexpected delight to read. Both main characters come to the story with a history of trauma and loss, which automatically bonds them to each other. Through some twists and turns, and some quirky and entertaining side characters, they have to decide whether or not to take a risk on each other, and possibly falling in love again.

This sweet story is a very easy read. The plot is not overly complicated, and humor is woven in. But if you are looking for some spice - it's most definitely there - it's just portrayed in a way that conveys the true passion these characters have or each other. If this is Natasha Dubois' first book, I'm excited about what's to come from her. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

For an author's debut I was pleasantly surprised. It was well written even if a bit predictable. The book was a fast read. A small town romance with likeable MFC and MMC both dealing with loss and trust issues but the sparks fly and from their first meeting they are drawn together. Misunderstandings and miscommunication abound as they try to find their way to each other. There is some well written spice, lots of feels and some humor and good banter (Aunt Tilly is a hoot). Over all it was a good read that was easy to follow, had likeable supporting character and a feel good ending. I was given an ARC and I'm leaving my honest review voluntarily.

Daegan and Kinsley are at turning points in their lives and looking to honor their loved ones. When Kinsley inherits her grandmother's home, she is looking to turn it into a bed and breakfast to honor the women in her life whereas Daegan wants to build a resort in their town to honor his father and bring life back to the town. When they connect feelings blossom between them. Will they get to honor their loved ones and get their chance for happiness as well. This story had me connecting with these two as I cheered them on to fulfilling their dreams.

This was an enjoyable HEA small town romance. Daegan is a CEO of a major company trying to revive the small town he lives in. Kinsley is the new owner of the last house Daegan needs to start his project towards saving the town. Kinsley becomes Daegan's personal assistant to earn money to remodel her home, with the goal of making it a bed and breakfast. Sparks fly between the 2 and the relationship blossoms.

The chemistry between the characters is strong. I love the humor that is tied into their budding relationship. Aunt Tilly is perhaps one of my favorite all time characters. She is funny and charming and a beautiful side person in the story. The book is in written in such a way that you can easily picture the characters in your mind. That is one of my favorite qualities in a book.

This was a quick fun read with a heart warming story. The only draw back in my opinion is that it is quite predictable. If you like fun HEA reads, you should try this one.

Thank you, Natasha Dubois for giving me the opportunity to read and review this for you. :-)

This small-town romance follows Kinsley Pruitt as she navigates the bittersweet return to her grandmother's Victorian home, and Daegan Westerhouse, a businessman with intentions to buy the house for his ambitious resort project. Well-crafted characters, each with rich backstories that add depth to the narrative. Themes of legacy, ambition, and healing from past heartbreaks are woven seamlessly throughout the story. This is a charming and heartfelt debut that showcases Dubois's talent for storytelling. This book is a quick, fun read that hits all the right notes for a small town romance.

Debut author read!!!
I loved the romantic fast-paced workplace romance from Natasha Dubois. Billionaire boss, and new to town simple girl made the perfect match. Daegan and Kinsley had the perfect amount of spice mixed in with their story. If you’re looking for a protective “I’ll do anything if you say it’s okay” man, Daegan is for you! Kinsley’s friends added the perfect “drama” to the story as well, they even gave Daegan a slight scare. Overall I loved the book and can’t wait to read the next in the series!

After a long day this book really hits the spot in the romance department. So, grab a drink of choice, a blanket and your kindle and let the characters whisk you away. This is the first book I have read by Natasha, and she has hit this book right out of the ballpark. The storyline, the heat as well as the romance is enough to make your heart beat fast and toes curl. I suggest you read this 5/5-star book today.

I appreciate that this is a first book by this author and I understand what the author was trying to achieve but to me it fell down for me because the whole story was basically Kinsley and Daegan's thoughts and not much else. I found it easy to put this story down and walk away, which I did often.
My favourite character was Daegan's aunt.

If this story is not the definition behind why a relationship requires open communication, I don't know what else it would be then. lol. These two characters infuriated me so much in EVERYTHING that they did, or didn't do or say. And because of it, they almost ruined everything. Their lives, their happiness, everything SMH. Over all a sweet story, would be interested to find out the other two girls stories too. Guess I will be waiting for them as well.

This was a good book. I thought the dynamic between the main characters (Daegan and Kinsley) was typical but felt real. I feel like the story dragged on a little bit and may have lost focus at times. However, for a debut novel, it was very well done! I would recommend this book and I am excited to see more from Natasha Dubois.

The author did exceptionally well for her first book. This was a charming small town romance between Kingsley and Daegon.

Throughout the book, there were many Misunderstandings which impacted on the decision taken by both Kingsley and Daegan. Luckily in the end Daegan "woke up" and love won.

This was an amazing debut novel! Very well written. It was obvious what the miscommunication was going to be, but I didn't mind l that because of how well written the rest of the story is. I love Daegon and Kinsley's relationship! I can't wait for the next book by this author!
