An unemployed actress turned Demon Goddess ends up with another Goddess treating her brain like a vacation rental. Sounds like a log line from a crappy B-Movie, right? Well, unfortunately, this horror flick is reality TV at its most dramatic.
Welcome to B*tch Goddess Cecily’s World.
Lights. Camera. Action!
The show must go on…even if it takes a U-turn into Hell. I have too much to lose if Pandora wins. With the love of my demonic life by my side, along with the profane, toothpick-loving Keeper of Fate, and a cast of inappropriate characters, I’m going to embrace this starring role. I have to. If I can’t solve the problem of unboxing the box, my life as I know it will be over. No TV show, no close-up, and, definitely, no Emmy.
So, I’m onto my next gig. I have no clue how the episode will end. If I go down, I go down fighting. Forget the blaze of glory. This finale will be the blaze of my life.
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. This is in no way related to what happens in the book, but to the fact that, as I remember, it was supposed to be the last book of the series.
I'm so glad that it's not!
Yes, Robyn Peterman did it again! Knocked it out of the park, that is. And with the hook at the end, it ensures that we will have more Beeee Goddess Cecily and Abaddon to look forward to, along with Pandora, and the guests from Good to the Last Death.
Quitting at 25%. One of the few additions to the plot so far is how Lilith attempted to trick Pandora into opening the box (who cares if it was decorated with elephant or mastodon ivory?) Lilith isn’t even involved when it actually occurs. If Pandora is able to have her minions spread the box’s contents why wasn’t she able to divest herself of them? Apparently Cecily is tasked with putting everything back where it belongs.
There’s pages wasted on trying to figure out who/what is the Higher Power. Candy Varga is still chewing toothpicks and constantly swearing. Tim is spouting useless pieces of information. Abaddon is cast almost as an afterthought. Gideon gets a little more play here.
I thought I was going to be able to finish this series but I guess not. Color me disappointed.
I love Robyn's books, I enjoyed this series! However this one was not up-to-date and not good. Like written when on an acid high. I am all for fanatical goofy funny and silly but this was just messy. So not enjoyable. I am same age as Robyn so I get the old tv and music and movie references but even then it was just absurd AND other readers under the age of 40-45 are not likely going to grasp the references and characterizations. Anyway, this was not worth the time. 1. Lilliths was not always goody goody 2. She and Pandora were friends first 3. Killing did some shady stuff and hurt Pandora (think men & crushes) 4. Pandora didn't mean to kill Killing 4. Cecily and Pandora have to go to the plane Higher Power is in a runs and ask how to.bete Pandora OUT of Cecily and back into her own bidy. 5. A twisted game of Survivor Island malice in Wonderland \Hunger Games is required and last forever, gruesome!y and the two Demons learn go co.exist 6. They Colette and best the Higher Power who is so not God. 7. Come.home to only be thwarted in their celebration by said Higher a power threatening them to be ready for a painful revenge for besting it.
So next boom Pandora will be part of the posse and they will fight the good fight as they wait for the revenge he move from.HP.
Hoping next in series goes back to the excellent writing and plot line we have beeen accustomed to in this series and not go so horribly off track.
I loved this book. The characters are some of my favorite. This book is hysterically laugh out loud funny! I just about read this book in one setting. Thankfully I am retired because I finished it at 3 am. This story had a message in it about what was in Pandora's box. It was something we should all remember and can be impactfhl. Don't worry I will let you read the book to see what it is. I will say I have absolutely no idea how Ms. Peterman comes up with some of these screens. I was laughing and thinking "ewwww" at the same time. Her writing style is so descriptive that I feel like I am standing with characters and can smell, taste and hear everything. Loved this story but I would read these series where there are characters overlap so you really get to know the characters.
When the last book ended evil goddess Pandora had been absorbed by Cecily making her the goddess of both dark realms. To say neither Cecily nor Pandora is happy about it is an understatement. The immortals from this series and Good to the Last Death gather to help Cecily solve the problem. The consensus is that only the “Higher Power” can solve the problem. Getting to the higher power presents a problem. Cecily, with Pandora riding shotgun, will face many challenges on the quest. Despite her best (worst?) intentions Pandora starts to redeem herself. Blaze of Our Lives is full of action and Peterman’s trademark humor. Fans of the Good to the Last Death series will enjoy getting to visit briefly with characters from that series. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys humorous paranormal women’s fiction.
Holy ( or not so holy) Higher Power this was good.
Robyn Peterman constantly astounds and delights me with her ability to come up with weirder and weirder shit. This book might have topped the limit. Bitch Goddess Cecily becomes a stronger, badder bad ass than ever in this strange trip of a book. She also shows demon goddess or not she has more humanity than most people will ever possess.
What a beautiful blend of hilarious, bizarre, heartwarming and action/adventure.
As much fun as all the previous entries in this series! A minor quibble is that Pandora developed a British accent that she didn’t have in the first four books. In this book Tim is described as tall and skinny, which I don’t remember from any of the previous books in this series or in the Good to the Last Death series. In fact, I’ve been picturing him as Joe Lo Truglio, the actor who plays Boyle on Brooklyn 99. I don’t usually “cast” books as I read them but this was stuck in my mind since the first moment Tim appeared.
I love a good series. I just reread the series to get to two new books. Nothing better than a book that makes me laugh out loud. So much fun. After this next one, I'll reread the first series that this is a spin off of. Also very funny. The four horsemen of the apocalypse are drag queens! Love it love it love it! Thanks Robyn!
So this is about the Higher Power and how Cecily wants it to remove Pandora from inside her. It's very Alice in Wonderland mixed with some Wizard of Oz.
I'll admit I had a little trouble following the story. I'm hopeful the next one will be an easier read.
This series is such a fun one to read! I really enjoy the world and the characters. The humor is delightful and the emotions are real and written so well you feel you're there. I'm looking forward to the next book.!
Lots of unnecessary questions in this one made it hard to follow what was supposed to happen. I'm not sure why the heroine insists on info that couldn't be helpful and interrupting good info with irrelevancies.
Ms. Peterman has a zany sense of humor and I love it! Her books are so clever, and have fun, interesting characters. I love how she puts her own twist on well known fictional characters. You won't be sorry to buy this book.
Cecily has to meet with the Higher Power to get Pandora out of her, and it’s a very weird situation with pop culture references all over the place and danger in every corner.
I enjoyed the trip and am looking forward to the next book!
Action packed, funny as hell!!!! Each Cecily and Pandora learn some hard lessons, but learn to accept each other. Not sure what's going to happen next, but it'll be a wild ride!

These books are crazy but so much fun to read, I can hardly put them down. The characters are crass, gross, and absolutely loveable. Can't wait for number 6.
another wacky and weird installment. i think its almost ideal to end the series here except there's a final book coming this march so i hope that one wraps things up neatly.
Robyn Peterman and Jessica Almasy have made my entire weekend one full of laughter, giggles, guffaws, a couple of snorts and got me a whole lot of weird looks - it was perfect!
