Rate this book
Austin Montgomery lives and breathes for his career, so when his cousin Talia invites him to a quaint ski village in Colorado over the Holidays, he agrees to a much needed vacation. Rachel Dawson has spent the last year literally fighting for her life, and the idea of ten days in Colorado with her brother Trevor, his wife Ava and their friends sounds just like heaven. When the two meet at the mountain condo, they are immediately drawn to each other but with Rachel’s renewed passion for life and Austin’s inability to let go long enough to live beyond his work, their relationship is doomed before it even begins. Can Austin stop hiding behind his work long enough to explore the undeniable attraction between him and Rachel, or will his dedication to his job get in the way of the possibility of love? Will Rachel have the patience to show Austin how precious life is and what it really means to live again? Join the entire Philadelphia gang you’ve grown to love as they spend the Holidays together. This final installment will touch your heart and make you laugh as you see where the story takes these amazing people.

Taryn is a USA Today Bestselling Author who is also a lover of books and wine, usually enjoying them together. Writing has been a way for her to step away from chaotic reality and live a bit through her fun and sometimes damaged characters. You will almost always find a Happy Ever After at the end of her stories. She can't help it, it's an addiction.
She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, but cherishes those quiet nights after everyone is asleep when she can curl up on the couch to read with her geriatric dog. (Shh, don't tell...He's not supposed to be on the couch.)

It was quite short!

Thankfully, it didn’t have the mistaken identity trope that the other installments each had ... but it did have Austin shutting down & running away when he heard the C word ...

Which was what I figured Rachel had lost a good part of her past year to. And the ending surprise(?) was kinda predictable ... but joyous nevertheless.

Maybe I’ll look for more by Taryn Plendl ... ?

Nice story and great wrap up to the series. They are like the characters from "Friends" but with much coarser language.

“Okay, Ava,” Tom began. “Would you rather be a rodeo clown who distracts the bull or the cowboy who rides the bull?” he asked.
“I would rather ride the cowboy.” She grinned, obviously pretty proud of herself.
“Not an option, my slutty friend.” Talia giggled.
“Okay, I’ll go with the clown.

“Okay, I’ve got one. Nick, would you rather French kiss a dog or have a baby spit up into your open mouth?”

“You are so beautiful, Rachel.” His voice became much lower than normal—the desire he was feeling channeling through. Of course he was drawn to her beauty, but it was more than that. Austin wanted to know everything about her—what made her laugh, what she liked, what she feared. He wanted to hold her when she cried and laugh when she laughed. To be honest, these feelings scared the shit out of him.

“You seriously have a bigger mouth than brain, Nick. I’m going to get you a f'ing shock collar, so every time you are about to say something stupid I can remind you to shut the hell up.”

“Nick, pull up your freaking pants. Your scrawny ass is just about hanging out.” Talia pulled on Nick’s baggy snowboarding pants. Rachel thought he looked fine, but they did seem to be hanging a bit more after all the times he went down on his butt.
“You should talk. Camel toe is not an accessory, my friend. Leave that pet at home.” Nick fell backward trying to get out of Talia’s reach, tripping over his snowboard.
“Don’t hide your flaws by looking for mine, a*hole,” Talia told Nick, but there was no fire in her words. It was hard to look mad when you were cracking up. “And I don’t have a camel toe.”

The gang was all back together for a wonderful holiday experience. Enjoying life and embracing the future.

I am happy Rachel was well and kicked Cancer in the butt. No remorse just a new beginning for her and Austin. Work can't be an escape from a past you had to control over. Nice story..
