Rate this book
Her boss wants to make Jade hers. Can she handle the heat without getting burned?

Small-town girl Jade Fisher has sacrificed everything for her dream of a high-powered career in Los Angeles. Fresh out of grad school, she’s one step away from landing the perfect job as executive assistant to Simone Weiss, LA’s hotel queen. So when her friend invites her to the opening night of Club Velvet, a luxury club for women to explore their wildest desires, Jade decides to let loose a little, just this once.

She isn’t expecting an encounter with a commanding older woman who makes her heart race and her body burn. And she’s even more surprised to come face to face with the same woman days later. Simone Weiss. Her new boss.

CEO by day, part owner of Club Velvet by night, Simone built her hotel empire from the ground up. She knows what she wants. She’ll stop at nothing to get it. And now, she has her sights set on her curvaceous new assistant.

One sensual night of surrender is all it takes for Jade to fall under her spell. Neither woman is looking for romance. Both bear scars from the past. But the more Simone awakens Jade’s submissive desires, the harder it becomes to ignore the feelings between them. Can love conquer all, even the walls around their hearts?

5 ★ | ANNA STONE STRIKES AGAIN! She’s relentless. In the best way possible. She was truly MADE for this. This is what she was BORN to do. If there’s a world without Anna Stone I simply don’t want it. 😀

Anna Stone continues her chokehold on me. An easy read, which I enjoyed for the most part. I rooted for the characters, but I feel like the friends in Simone's Circle of Hot Domme Lesbians will be more compelling.

However! When Simone called Jade the first time, I got so flustered as if she said it to me. Anna Stone, what have you done to me!??

Four stars! ☆☆☆☆

"Every part of me belonged to you. I'm yours. I always will be."

4.5

Well, my first dive into the world of Sapphic BDSM romance stories was nothing short of fantastic!

I absolutely adored Simone—her blend of caring, protectiveness, and fierce determination made her an outstanding character. Jade's journey was equally compelling; I loved how she grew and confronted her own trauma by opening up to Simone and taking on someone who had hurt her previously. The romance between Simone and Jade was a joy to watch unfold, with their relationship blossoming beautifully throughout the story. And of course, the steamy scenes were masterfully written.

This is definitely not the last book I'll be reading by Anna Stone!

Curiosity, curiosity! Will Jade's be satisfied? Let's blame her best friend Renee for introducing her to Club Velvet but what happens after is all on Jade....and Simone. That Simone turns out be to Jade's new boss - well the plot is set. Not too sure about Jade but Simone knows what she wants and there is a cameo appearance from a previous series that adds to the storyline. Secrets, hopes, romance with heavy heat and happiness is what the author is known for. Perfect for the wintery day outside!
A new series from Anna Stone and a new set of ladies to discover. I look forward with anticipation to book 2.

“From you, I expect perfection. And I wouldn’t have hired you if I didn’t think you were capable of it.”

This had such a good start and I really did think that this was going to turn out to be a new favourite from this author. Alas, it was not to be so. The middle was just kind of mediocre, and it's not that I didn't like the end, but it had a third act conflict and break up that was engineered in a lab to be annoying to me. Just not my thing. And I'm really sad about it, because as I said, I really liked the beginning.

This is another sapphic, BDSM, boss/employee romance, which this author writes a lot of. It starts off when Jade and Simone meet each other in a BDSM club, have a little encounter, and then the next day, Jade discovers that the seductive domme is her new boss. Those first few encounters were really electric, even before anything happened between them, and I was absolutely giggling. There's also an aspect of, like, mundane caretaking, and Simone doing a lot of really thoughtful things for Jade, which I really loved. She's a demanding boss, but she's also really caring and thoughtful. It was just a really good setup, and I liked how they tried to fight their attraction and try to keep things professional, but obviously, they end up succumbing to it. The first 'good girl'... whew!

But alas. After the first third, the book didn't quite go downhill, but it just became very run-of-the-mill. I was very aware that I have probably read many other things just like this, and just the writing and the situations and even the steamy scenes felt unoriginal. A lot of Simone's dialogue was really over-the-top, and not in an appealing or sexy way. The less said about the conflict, the better. It's just kind of annoying to me, but I know that that's very subjective, and another reader would probably feel different. But Simone has the typical billionaire "I was hurt in the past and because of sad childhood things I won't ever allow myself to love!" type background and it's simply not compelling to me.

Listened to the audiobook as read by Allie Shae, who I love more and more every time I listen to a book from her. So that was definitely a bright side to this. I always have my ups and downs with this author, and I think I would still recommend this? I really did like the beginning. But all in all it fell a little flat.

I went into this book with an open mind, even though my least favorite trope is boss/employee. I also knew that Anna Stone’s dommes can also be smushy and sweet, so I gave it a try. Surprisingly, the boss/employee relationship didn’t really bother me at all. That part of the book was surprisingly well done and seemed plausible, due to the temporary employment situation. The chemistry between Jane and Simone was pretty great.

The disappointment was with the spice. It felt a little generic and not quite what I was in the mood for reading. There could have been a much more tense build up to the spice. The third act break up was totally formulaic and really not necessary to move the plot forward. Will I read another one of Anna Stone! Yes. Absolutely.

Boss of Her marks the promising start of a new series by Anna Stone, introducing readers to the tantalising world of Club Velvet. In this opening act, the intricate dynamic between Simone and Jade unfolds, captivating with the allure of a forbidden romance. Anna Stone has a knack of portraying the sexual tension and inevitable surrender to emotion between characters, and this is definitely something that shines in Boss of Her.

I will admit that I anticipated a bit of a higher heat level than what was delivered, especially given the backdrop of Club Velvet and its BDSM promises. However, the narrative chooses to focus more on the emotional depth and evolving relationship between Simone and Jade rather than just their physical connection.

Boss of Her is a journey through the intricacies of a Domme/Sub relationship but also a deeper exploration of personal growth, vulnerability, and the unexpected paths love can take. It's a story that balances the thrill of forbidden desires with the warmth of developing romance, setting a solid stage for what promises to be an enthralling series.

I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This hit the spot for me in ways that I did not expect.

This was my first Anna Stone book after having her books on my TBR for ages. I was finally struck with the mood to pick up one of her books, and to say that I loved it would be an understatement.

I was expecting a light romance under an erotic story of heat and passion, and yes as much as this story is definitely very sexy and full of spice there was so much sweetness and tenderness between Jade and Simone that I did not expect. The characters yearn for each other not just due to their sexual intimacy, but because they genuinely want to learn and be a part of each other's lives, because they see each other in themselves, and they complement each other when it comes to ambition and drive and it was really nice to see their relationship grow deeper.

Anna Stone writes a really captivating setting when it comes to not just Club Velvet but the characters' backgrounds and passions, and I enjoyed being in this world immensely.

Though as much as the third-act breakup allowed for hard conversations and growth between both characters, it felt way too contrived for me to see it as worth it, but overall I really enjoyed Jade and Simone's dynamic together.

The vocal narration by Allie Shae was phenomenal and really brought so much colour to this book, and I will definitely be looking for more audiobooks narrated by her.

Overall 4.5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨️

Jade and Simone are just a fantastic couple. Both women are determined and goal driven and also have past baggage that needs to be overcome. They work so well together in business and pleasure. When they first meet at Club Velvet both are drawn to each other. Jade then finds out that the woman from the club is Simone and she will be her temp. assistant. The heat sizzles between them. I hope all the ladies at Club Velvet get their own story. Outstanding book by Anna Stone as always.

I loved this!

This is my favorite book by Anna Stone so far.
I loved the characters and their love for each other seemed more believable in this one than in some of her other books.

Quite spicy with liberal dashes of consensual BDSM, mainly mental, weaving thru the building romance.

Club Velvet is Off to a Great Start!!

As one of my favorite authors, I was so excited when this book came out recently! I was not disappointed! So well written as I’ve come to expect from this author. So steamy. Consent is sexy! Beautiful bdsm. Connection and chemistry between the MCs is on point. Highly recommend!

‪*screams* what a book. The cute romance trope between Simone and Jade makes me you smile and get butterflies. But then the mistress and sub/bdsm storyline just adds an extra spiciness to the book. Then the end, a happy ending - I just love this book‬.

Anna Stone’s books always have the exact right amount of spice and romance to suit the mood of the story. In Stone’s newest release, Boss of Her, Simone Weiss, a hotel queen and co-owner of Club Velvet, LA’s hot new women’s only BDSM club, takes centre

Jade is 1000% ready for her interview with Simone Weiss, a woman she dreams of becoming one day. A three-month temporary gig as her assistant will set her up for whatever job she wants afterwards. The problem is that Simone and Jade met in Club Velvet, and sparks fly, but it’s not until Simone and Jade are face-to-face in Simone’s office that they realise.

Simone and Jade connect on a physical level, and as much as they swear it will stay that way, it soon becomes more. Simone has baggage from her youth, which makes her sceptical about love, but there is something about Jade that calls to her. The need to have and protect her is too strong to resist. At the same time, Jade has her own demons and facing those means risking everything with Simone.

I absolutely adored Simone and Jade together. While there are the usual Anna Stone BDSM elements, the building romance, the protective nature of the Domme/Sub relationship, and inevitable falling-in-love sweetness are what had me turning the pages late into the night. Ice-queen, Age-Gap, Steamy sex, Romance – Boss of Her has it all.

I received an ARC from the author and am leaving a voluntary review.

Content warnings: alcohol consumption, references to toxic relationship (professor/student which was coercion), explicit sexual content (including BDSM practices), boss/employee relationship (current/main plot point), references to parental infidelity, references to parental verbal abuse.

Rep: Jade (MC) is cis, white, lesbian, and plus sized (this is iffy as it's just described as 'curves' but it's mentioned a few times that it's a bit heavier than usual 'curve' descriptors in books). Simone (MC) is cis, white, lesbian, and also curvy.

Like with almost every other Anna Stone book, I knew exactly what was going to happen, and just how it will play out, and it's exactly what I needed.

I adored Jade's character so much. She's been through so much prior to this book and her character development was so wonderful to read.

I also adored Simone as a character, too. Usually the boss/domme in these novels is just the same cutout as the rest, and she was to a degree (it's why I love these books) but I also appreciated her level of humanity. Plus, the takedown of the jerk towards the end of the book was fantastic.

This is the first in a new series that I am so very excited to read about.

Plus, Club Velvet? I'd totally go.

I am a big fan of Anna Stone, and I have been wanting to read this book for years and finally I got the ebook and I am so happy that I read it! It crossed all my favorite lists on a sapphic romance, ice queen, age gap, workplace romance. I love the chemistry between the couple, and their bittersweet love story is well written and very inspiring. Both the young assistant and the hot boss are very likable and worth rooting for!

I haven't read one of Anna Stone's books in a while because I could not deal with the typos and other errors in some of her earlier works. I took a chance on this one and was pleasantly surprised. I will have to start back reading her newer books because she has improved significantly. 4 stars

Exquisite story

Anna Stone is a writer who always delivers. Her latest book is no exception - it's a well-written and engaging sizzling romantic story that is both sensual and filled with a beautiful romance. It's a pleasure to read and lives up to her reputation as the queen of sizzling romance novels.

Both characters are intriguing and captivating in their unique way. It's marvellous to witness their growth individually and as a couple. The chemistry between them is delightful. The BDSM scenes are somehow light but perfect and very tastefully written.

Simon Weiss is a powerful woman who possesses both money and influence. She has been drawn to Jade, who is inexperienced but equally strong in her inimitable way. Their combined strength and intelligence will undoubtedly lead them to great success. It's exciting to see the journey of this power couple unfold, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish in the future.

This is a delightful read that I recommend to anyone who enjoys a well-written, enjoyable and compelling book.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Painful and pleasurable excellence.
Simone Weiss is the Queen of Hotels in LA. She owns the largest group of hotels on the west coast, maybe in the whole of the US.
Jade is a recent graduate, looking for a job after her internship finished. She thinks she can’t get better than working for the famous Simone Weiss, even if it is just a temporary position.
A couple of days before her final interview for the position, along with her friend Renee, Jade visits the opening night of Club Velvet, an exclusive women-only BDSM club. There she meets a mysterious woman, who she can’t get out of her head.
I am not a lover of BDSM, but here I could appreciate it. I could understand that all the paraphernalia was just theatre - pleasure, pain, lust and longing-inducing equipment. But the underlying reason was control and vulnerability, but most of all, mutual trust.
This is a hot, steamy book, full of erotic charge. However, underneath that is a vulnerability between the two women, a trust, and a blossoming love.
This book is very well written, and is just the right length - not too long or too short. It doesn’t say anything more to bulk out pages, and doesn’t need to be longer because there is no more story to tell. The story is perfectly paced and perfectly executed. An excellent story as my first read of the new year.

What really gives me satisfaction?”

“It’s submission in its purest form. A woman on her knees, at my feet, surrendering every part of her being to me. That level of vulnerability, of trust, is a transcendental experience. It’s the most beautiful gift a submissive can give her domme.” -Simone

Was Jade ready to give Simone that?

Have you ever wanted to transport yourself into a book so badly? Simone is so sexy in her domme role as a mistress, yet she’s also incredibly caring and loving. It’s my first time reading a book by Anna Stone, and I’m already hooked—I can’t wait to explore more of her work. Also, a shoutout to the audiobook: Allie Shae did a phenomenal job narrating, truly bringing the characters to life 🥵😍

If you’re into BDSM then this is your book, even if you’re interested. It gives you a good look into everything in that type of interest. The books itself in the first half made me interested in more BDSM activities but towards the end around the 67%, it wasn’t too good. I don’t know maybe it’s because it took me 3 days longer to finish than it would’ve & I lost somewhat of an interest but at the same time the plot was still somewhat picking up.
I feel like it wasn’t as good as a book as everyone made it out to seem like. It was okay, not horrible or anything but it was somewhat repetitive which was a little annoying but the plot behind just sex was there. It was easy to distinguish everyone’s relationships with each other & how their friendships/relationships started.
NOT A SPOILER. I was a little disappointed on how it ended. I’m not sure what I was expecting in regards to a book like this but I guess not that. I had read a comment that spoiled it but I was like well I might as well just finish the book & do my review so…
Overall, it was an okay book but I wouldn’t read it again & I would only recommend if you’re into BDSM.

First of all, I have read books like this that contain some spicy activities and I obviously enjoy it but I never really read them on the woman/sapphic side of things and let me tell you I absolutely enjoyed this!! Jade and Simone are so good together and I loved both of their separate journeys as well as the one they have with each other, it was so good and I’m so happy I read it. It’s an absolute gem and when the other books to this series come out I’ll definitely be coming back! Totally recommend!!
