“Stay dedicated to your journey and do not second guess your choices, no matter how painful they may become.”

WOW!! Let me start off by staying my favorite part of the entire book is how the characters stayed true to themselves while having such HUGE character growth. The story picks up right where it lefts off in book one and the author treats your heart like it is an onion, peeling it apart one layer at a time. Just when you think you are getting a break you turn the page and a piece is picked way.

The trauma and the journey are beautifully written, and the banter of book one is still there mixed with the sass of some new characters.

If you have not started your journey into the Realms of Lore Fae you need to grab book one Prince of Darkness to meet the main four, then dive into Heir so of Darkness to learn the trauma that drives the males to be the wicked creatures they are and be ready for Queen of Light to see if they are able to fight fate, or if in the end Fate gets what Fate Wants.

"Fate always seems to have a way of getting what it wants"

To fully appreciate the work that was put into this book you will need to make sure you have read Prince of Darkness followed by Heirs of Darkness first then you will be ready for Queen of Light. Reading Queen of Light was so satisfying for multiple reasons. Thruout the book you will find Easter eggs and by the end it feels like all the puzzle pieces fall into place making all three books fit together perfectly. This book both devastated and excited me between the tragic backstories, current events and character growth I felt like I was on an emotional Rollercoaster. And just when you think you have everything figured out you will be hit with a twist and continue to second guess yourself till the end. I also appreciate how the experiences in this fantasy world relate so closely to issues we have faced in our own world thruout history and even still today helping the reader connect more with the world and the characters themselves. I could go on and on but I don't want to give spoilers so I'm gonna end this review by saying this was hands down one of the most satisfying reading experiences I've had yet. Amber Thoma put in the work and it shows. If you read the whole series in order then you will see this isn't just another adventure, it's so much more.

Queen of Light is the second novel in the Realms of Lore collection by Amber Thoma. If you haven’t read Prince of Darkness start there first!!!!

Onto the review…. Holy sh*t Batman my emotions are EVERYWHERE!

I will do my best to avoid spoilers but this book picks up right after PoD. My heart was screaming the entire book!!! I love the multiple povs, time hopping, and new characters we meet in QoL.

I felt like there was so much to unpack in this novel and totally had strings from one connection to another in my mind! The plot was fantastic, the spice was 🤌🏼, and it made me feel everything!

Please read the trigger warnings on this one!

I cannot wait for more readers to read this story so I can talk about it!!! I have so many theories!!! 🧶

The ending was not technically a cliffhanger but holy MIC FU*KING DROP! I was jumping out of my chair!!! AMBER I NEED THE NEXT BOOK ASAP!

That’s all I am going to put in my review for now but will update as more readers get their hands on it!

This is the hardest book I have ever read. It kept my anxiety spiked throughout, with brief moments of mirth and hope that would end too quickly. It brought memories that I do my best to keep locked down.

Queen of Light did everything a story SHOULD do. It evoked emotions and thoughts and made sure I was as desperate to understand Fate's design as the characters were. For its shining name, this is the darkest book yet of the series.

This third excursion into the Realms of Lore was the hardest yet, but it's also the one that I have the most certainty I will return to. Kes, Anin, Etain, and Ciaran, I'm thoroughly invested. I HAVE to see the end.

Make sure you read Prince of Darkness and Heirs of Darkness before jumping in, and then brace yourself. This one is a doozy.

5/5 ⭐
3/5 🌶

Queen of Light is the 2nd book in Amber Thoma's Realms of Lore: Fae series and should be read after book 1 (Prince of Darkness) and book 1.5 (Heirs of Darkness novella).

Check trigger warnings!!

Now on to my ARC review 🖤

Queen of Light picks up right where Prince of Darkness ends, and the wait between was excruciating! I wouldn't consider the end of QoL to be a cliffhanger but it did leave me just as excited for the next installment and SERIOUSLY wanting more.

I've loved the multiple povs since the beginning of the series, and the list of MCs with their own pov chapters keeps growing! Seeing the story play out from so many perspectives is really cool. The way this author can give us so many povs and still keep secrets from us is crazy!

This book touches on addiction and a variety of mental illness in such a relatable, real world way. Most MCs went through such significant character development throughout the timeline of this book, and I really enjoyed watching them battle through and overcome their personal struggles.

I spent a surprising amount my time reading this book with a stomachache lol. As someone who doesn't frequently read dark books: this one had it's brutal moments for sure. The anguish these characters went through left me nauseous more than once.

The spice wasn't super frequent but it was GOOD. This book has my new favorite steamy scene 🥵😍❤🖤

Overall: Queen of Light was a beautifully heartbreaking journey through our found family's internal struggles while trying to maintain the balance of the realm and figure out how to navigate Fate's choices. I loved it so much, and I seriously can't wait to see what Amber comes up with next 🖤

✨ E-ARC REVIEW✨
📖: Queen of Light (Realms of Lore: Fae Book Two)
👑: Publication date: April 23, 2024

Queen of Light takes place following events of Prince of Darkness (Book 1) and Heirs of Darkness (novella). I suggest reading both prior!

In this installment, we dive deeper into the inner court workings of the Day and Night kingdoms, witch magic, and mate bonds. This multi-POV story focuses on several intertwined storylines spanning over time.

Dealing with their own demons and losses, they are faced with a bloodthirsty adversary hellbent on revenge. Will the darkness take over or will hope and light shine through?

"𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦. 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩."
"𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘧𝘢𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘺."
"𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸”

While the MMCs are a bit wicked, they love their mates fervently as best as they know how. Our FMCs must astutely navigate the dangerous fae courts. The sass and snark among this motley crew was a delight and I enjoyed meeting some new mysterious characters.

Queen of Light brings the banter, steam, and character growth on all fronts. Pieces of the puzzle are coming together and I’m excited to see how each character’s fate will fall into place!

Thank you so much Amber Thoma for the ARC opportunity. This is my voluntary and honest review

Such torture... I mean I 💯 love the storyline and the world and the characters. This book was rough. A whole book of torture and anticipation and then to be left with this cliffhanger. The next book can't come soon enough so we can have the revenge and rose of the queen we deserve after going through all that heartache.

This book was absolutely amazing!
It picks up right where Prince of Darkness left off and continues from there.

The multiple POVs, the time hopping and new Characters had me so excited and so immersed in this book to where my emotions were all over the place.

I cannot wait for the next installment in this series because there is no way that there isn’t more to this story!

With QoL, Amber has taken Realms of Lore:Fae to another level.

I enjoyed PoD and HoD but this one broke me. This story had me in tears from beginning to end.

Even knowing I'm in for more heartbreak, I can't wait for the next installment in this immersive series.

OK so to start out this book was really slow up until the ending! The whole storyline was based on saving one of the characters and the book ended just made me frustrated because it took OVER 100 YEARS TO GET the characters any type of help!

The change in Ciaran & Etain relationship was so hard to read like whyyy

in all the end of the book definitely made up for it being slow! But it does leave on a cliff hanger!

This book was amazing! It really brought the characters to life, and we really got to know them on a deeper level as they go through all their trials in this book. As you see them growing in this book you become so invested in them and their stories you start to really feel for them. I shed a couple tears when some of the characters were going through some really emotional moments. There are multiple POVs each with their own journey during this big trial they are all working to resolve but at no time did I feel overwhelmed or confused about what was going on as everything merged well together and worked to further the main plot along.
I think one thing that surprised me most about this book was how much I enjoyed reading about the relationship between Ciaran and Etain who are true mates. A lot of stories with true mates they have some minor problems but then it is smooth sailing but here you have two fated mates who love each other but sometimes their differences mean they don't like each other. They are then unable to bridge that gap and even have their own trials they have to work through together and separately. While my heart broke for them and what they went through it made it seem so real their journey and made me really route for them and their relationship. All the relationships romantic and found family were amazing in this book to be honest.
The Plot and writing were so well done in this book and had me hooked from the start that I could not put it down. Now it did take me three days because stupid responsibilities and she is thick but at no time did I feel like it was a long drown out book. Trust me if I could have ignored real life I would have when it came to this book. Now I will say this is a plot heavy book and is light on spice, but it is there.
In the end I really enjoyed Prince of Darkness and Heirs of Darkness, but this book took the series to a whole different level and that ending was not only a cliff hanger it cut in the middle of scene that had been building up throughout the WHOLE book. I am not a book thrower, but this book almost took flight when I got to that last page.
I can't wait for the next book and Tatiana you better get what's coming to you.
I received an ARC Copy in exchange for an honest review.

Picking up immediately after the startling conclusion of Prince of Darkness, Queen of Light follows Anin, Etain, Ciaran, Kes and a slew of new characters as the powers at work in Fae realm reach new heights and sink to new lows.

Darkness spreads, but where there is darkness, there must also be light. All things in balance. But Fate works on it's own time. And, in the words of Ms. Thoma herself, "Fate gets what fate wants."

I suppose the first thing I should say about Queen of Light is this was not the novel I thought I was signing up for. Any and all expectations I had for how this story would progress were pretty quickly shattered. Having read both the first book in the Realms of Lore series and the novella also set in the same world, I thought I was relatively well prepared. I was wrong.

Somehow, even though Queen of Light clocks in at only forty more pages than Prince of Darkness, this seemed so much longer. A lot happens in these pages and Ms. Thoma takes her time in developing this tale.

Much to the chagrin of all the characters involved, Queen of Light does not play over a matter of months or years but decades. There are no quick answers. There are no easy feats of heroism that save the day. Each and every inch gained by our beloved Ciaran, Kes, and Etain are earned through tears, sweat, and blood. And Anin... we'll you'll just have to read for a glimpse into what her situation is like.

The writing of Queen of Light just felt different to me, hard to process and harder to make progress as I read. It was far from being as easy a read as Prince of Darkness and Heirs of Darkness. But considering what all happens during the course of this story, I can't help but wonder if that wasn't intentional.

I will say I was impressed that I was able to put a few things together before they revealed themselves. Going to pat myself on the back and enjoy those wins because the fight is certainly not over. Our beloved foursome have a long way to go yet to save the Fae realms and the battle is just beginning. But you know what they say, those forged through adversity are forged stronger. And I think these four are going to be stronger than ever in book three.

Oh, and the spice, it didn't disappoint. ;)

Possible spoilers, you’ve been forewarned. I absolutely loved this book! For some it may be considered a bit slow. There is a lot of character building but done interestingly. I truly enjoy getting to know the characters so I really appreciated this, particularly knowing this is book two of what will be a five-book series (if I have it right - don’t quote me on that). The relationship between Etain and Ciaran was at times both beautiful and tragic. What I loved most about that is the realism of it because love isn’t always a fairytale experience and I think many of us can relate to some of the issues this couple dealt with. Now when it comes to Kes and Anin, I don’t know what to say. They are in an awful situation, but they clearly find some degree of strength in their love. It was a little sad not to see the same degree of theatrics we’ve become accustomed to with Kes, but it is also understandable why he’d be different. The time jumps, for me captivated the frustration of the whole situation with Anin because I found myself also frustrated and disheartened along with the other characters in thinking of all she must have been enduring with Tatiana. Tatiana is absolutely deplorable! I believe that is important to the story and in allowing us to see her a Anin must, so I did appreciate her character development as well as that of her lap-dog, Raindal. I was really only a little confused by “Kindness,” but trust we’ll learn more about that later. Overall, I loved getting to know Anin’s sisters, Lyra and Panella, encountering Ciaran’s old friend again (you’ll see), and getting a sense for the complicated and precarious situation the Day Court finds itself in. Looking forward to seeing what these amazing cast of characters do next. I was very excited about that ending and will not be anxiously (but patiently) awaiting the next installment of this saga.

Queen of Light is the second book in the Realms of Lore: Fae series. The book jumps right in where book one, Prince of Darkness leaves off. There are multiple points of view which makes for a well-rounded story. The characters are well developed and each is very different from the others.

Ciaran is one of the MMC's and he is a bit of a mad king. But also the most touch her and die you could get. He is dark and cranky and the definition of a shadow daddy. His love for Etain is both creepy and so sweet.

Kes is the second MMC and he is protective, witty, and stubborn. He also has to touch her and die vibes but he is such a great character. One of my favorites for sure.

Etain is an FMC and she is a kind, generous, and powerful queen. She has such a big heart and always wants to do what's best for everyone. She is a gentle soul with a mate that is polar opposite.

Anin is the second FMC who endures things that are gruesome and unthinkable. She is also a gentle soul. We learn more about her in this book and her past. She is such a huge part of the story in this book, more so than in book one in my opinion.

The plot is well thought out and executed. The world-building remains as wonderful as it was in book one, and the characters are so relatable and lovable. Definitly read book one prior or you will be lost, and I would also suggest reading the novella. Amber does a great job creating a vivid realm that is so worth the read.

If you have triggers, you should check for trigger warnings first as some detailed things may be triggering to some. I love how this story continues to play out and I can't wait to read book three!

Picking up where PoD left off, Kes is absolutely destroyed that a certain nymph has been *(spoiler)*. He wants to bash heads and take names, but there isn’t much he can do, without getting himself *(spoiler)* in the process & making things 10x worse. Lucky for him, he has a new found family that cares enough to find answers & make a plan. Two of my favorites are the twins, Panella and Lyra.
Meanwhile, there are members of the courts working behind the scenes to try & save the realm before it’s completely destroyed by ***.

This installment of the Realms of Lore: Fae series was EMOTIONALLY BRUTAL. It was raw, it was tragic and it was a trial of strength, both inner and outer.

The intricate layers and connections of this story will keep you ensnared until the last page, where you will promptly yell because now you have to wait for book 3 😭😭😭.

Add to your TBR if you like:
✨Emotionally Brutal Fantasy Series
🖤Silent Shadows & Shadow Walking
✨What Really Happens After Insta-Love
🖤Witches, Fae and…. Blood?👀
✨Found Family
🖤Power Struggle
✨Mental Health Rep
🖤Secrets and Sibling Rivalry

The morally grey MC Ciaran stayed true to his wicked nature, & gives you a peek into life AFTER insta-love. I love that Etain starts getting comfortable being outspoken & being queen in this book!

The author must have gone to the same school as TSwift, because she was dropping Easter eggs left and right… you just need to pay attention 👀

This book has phenomenal writing, layers and layers of intertwined elements that will have you thinking WTF and OMG. 🫣

Make sure to read Prince of Darkness and Heirs of Darkness first!!!

✨Queen of Light is book 2 in the Realms of Lore: Fae series. I have been looking forward to this book and it has exceeded my expectations. It is a very emotive read.
✨We start right where book 1 left off and the heart wrenching emotional struggles never ease up. Each one of our charismatic characters goes through their own internal battles while struggling to be a productive part of the realm. Etain is powerful, kind and giving trying to balance being queen, her needs, and those of her mate. Ciaran is the perfect grumpy, shadow daddy, trying to rule, help unravel mysteries of the Day Court and is working on his difficulties with selfishness and being emotionally self-absorbed. That being said, he has the most passionate emotional moments, expressing his love and loyalty to his mate. I adore Kes and my heart hurts as he has to deal with his endless heartache and feeling of failure. He just cannot get a break regarding the blood magic and is suffering horribly. There are not enough words to express how I feel for Anin and her endless pain. Her strong mind and beautiful soul help with the harrowing sadness but the dread and doom are swallowing her hope.
✨I really like the multi POV and time jumps. Learning more of the tragic back stories and the introduction of new characters adds additional layers of emotion to this journey. So many twists give hope for another to come and cause anxiety and sadness. This book ignites so many feeling and while not really a cliffhanger ending, it is a wham bam powerful end that left me wanting so much more. The anticipation to see where Amber Thoma’s amazing mind takes us next is sky high.

💫 “‘Little witch, you must know by now that no matter where you are, I see nothing but you. It’s as though everything else is covered in shades of black and white and there you stand in full vibrancy.’ he said while he moved to stand in front of her.” 💫

First off, the chapter headers are AMAZING. Customized to each character with such detail and beauty. & a playlist in the beginning of the book? Amazing!

It was so great to venture back into the Realms of Lore again after the last book with the expansion of character and story line. Amber really laid the ground work in this book for what is to come with some foreshadowing and me questioning “what the hecks is going on here. That seems suspicious 👀.” The story was so easy to follow, and touches on some serious and real life issues. I loved that it wasn’t easy and quick fixes that some stories have, but that you really had to go through growth and change and not so great times with the characters to see that development and foundation of who they are. It’s so realistic for what a fae world would look like, as problems aren’t solved overnight and it truly takes time. The ending was 🤯 - there was as a major plot twist I didn’t see coming, and one I was rooting for the entire time! I can’t wait to see where the story takes us next and highly recommend to everyone!

Queen of Light is book 2 in the Realms of Lore: Fae series, it is the continuation of the events that happened in Prince of Darkness (Book 1). It is NOT a standalone, so start with book one so that you don't get any spoilers.

Some tropes you'll find is:

-Fated Mates
-Touch her and d!e
-High Stakes
-Found Family
-Multiple POVs
-Witches & Fae
-Possessive MMCs

This book is a Dark Romantic Fantasy, so check out the TW before reading. The stakes were high out the get-go with this book and when I tell you that my anxiety kept going up the further I got into the book, even found myself throwing it against the wall a few times. Amber does an amazing job in keeping the tension high without over-doing it. For the sake of keeping this spoiler-free, all I'm going to say I loved our MMCs in this book, they showed off their wickedness a bit more, but simultaneously proved our loving they could be with their mates. More than anything, I feel that our FMCs truly shined here, while navigating life in the court, as well as surviving it. I was also a big fan of how the gang has expanded and we got some new characters join to stir things up a bit more.
Queen of Light, she is thicc, she is wicked, and brings banter, sizzling hot spice, and a plethora of character growth. That ending was crazy, because it wasn't entirely a cliffhanger but it did leave me high and dry. But we do get some answers, and even more questions.
Super excited for book 3!

“It’s okay to be scared; it does not make you less brave.”

Queen of Light by Amber Thoma is the second book in the Realms of Lore: Fae series and it will have you screaming at the pages!! You should read book 1 Prince of Darkness and the prequel, Heirs of Darkness to get the full story before diving into QoL!!

This story picks up right where the last book ended with witches being hunted and going missing along with high fae and there’s something strange happening in the Day Court. There’s a new queen in the Night Court and a deranged one in the day court. Things just aren’t going as planned but as they say, fate gets what fate wants.

This book is fantastic but it’s different from other fantasies I’ve read because there are multiple POV’s however it works! It lets us see more yet there are still so many surprises! I love the main characters that we’ve seen in the past books but we also see new characters and some of the side characters get a bigger role.

This book is dark despite the name and deals with some mental issues and family problems. The author incorporates all these themes in seamlessly. The plot moved along at a good pace and the storyline stayed consistent throughout. The ending was just what I would have expected and set up the next book perfectly!!

Queen of Light by Amber Thoma is book two in the Realms of Lore. I’m already a fan of this author so I was so excited to feast my eyes on what I knew should be an epic book. When I read the blurb, I really couldn’t wait to start to read it e special with the line… “Fate gets what fate wants.” I devoured this book in one sitting, I couldn’t nor wouldn’t put my kindle down. I forgot how to be an adult that day. I will mention that you need to read the other books in this series before this one. Also make sure to check your content warnings before diving into this book. This definitely took my emotions on one crazy journey… I was all over the place in the best of ways. The backstories were just heartbreaking and I really liked the different light that was shed on the characters. I also really liked how they are continuing to develop. This book was really on another level; the twists and turns had my heart rate spike (when it wasn’t breaking). Plus that ending; I absolutely need the next installment. This book was written amazingly and this plot is just continuing at such a great pace that just has me utterly hooked. I highly recommend this series as it’s such an amazing reading experience.

Queen of Light is the second book of The Realms of Lore: Fae series by Amber Thoma. If you haven’t read book one Prince of Darkness you’re missing out! Same with Heirs of Darkness a prequel novella that gives you a background to Ciaran and Kes. Now onto my full review:

“I didn’t know the salt on the rim [of my margarita] would be tears, Amber!” —me after reading QoL 🤣

WOW! Was this story amazing! Did I cry a lot? Yes. Were they good cries? Sometimes? Did I absolutely love this book and read it in one night? YES! I couldn’t put this book down. You think characters may finally get a break and same with your heart, but with every turn of a page you realized there was more to come.

I absolutely fell for these characters. Kes trying to give Anin hope so she can keep going are probably the bits of the book most water damaged with my tears besides the torture that Anin endures by the hands of her half-sister Tatiana.

This book will swallow you whole and you won’t want to stop— no matter how much it hurts to continue.

Tropes/vibes:

I received this as an eARC and in PR. All thoughts and opinions are my own. And thank you so much to Amber Thoma for giving me another book I will talk about until the end of time.

UGH the sweet torture of this book!!
Each chapter made my heart sink more and more. It was so emotional, frustrating but also gripping at the same time!
We continued with multiple POVs of our 4 main characters, along with some new ones mixed in. It was incredibly easy to switch between them and I am going to give a nod to Amber's ability to write characters with full, distinct personalities. You didn't necessarily need the name on the chapter to know who it was which is impressive juggling so many people. On top of that, everyone sees growth/progression one way or another with a plot moving.
I was focusing on one action the whole time, waiting for it - I will say I almost didn't care as much about the other struggles or maybe they were less impactful because I wanted this one thing to happen. I figured out that this is a whole journey and had to accept that maybe I was being tortured now for happiness later.
I don't want to spoil anything (read this paragraph at your own risk), but there is a certain scene (we take what we can get) with a certain bird-like fae and wood nymph that HIT and I think that had the special sauce that was missing in book one for sure!

Special thank you to Amber Thoma for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

This story has a lot of moving parts to it. However, this one is mainly about Kes and Anin. More about Anin and what her fate is to become. Kes and Anin both have a destiny that will be announced in this book which makes their mate bond even better. Ciaran does some things in this one that will make you a little upset. Etain and Ciaran definitely go through some things in this one that will give you all the feels. Tatiana is the villain in this story and trust me you will understand why. The things that take place in this book are wild. Just as I was starting to think things were going to go one way it would take a different direction. This one goes through an entire century before the main twist comes to life, but I loved it. The are a few twists and turns in this book and it kept my interest more than I thought it would. I was even getting frustrated at some points in the book but it makes sense as to why things happened the way they did. I cannot wait to see the next book in this series and find out more between Kes and Anin. I also want to see what happens with Etain and Ciaran. I don't know who my favorite pair is anymore after reading this. I have to say I adore them all.

✨✨This is the book after Prince of Darkness (The Realms of Lore:Fae series), it is not a stand a lone, so you have to read the other prior. ✨✨

It left off right where Prince of Darkness ended and there were so many things going on in this book that were highly necessary! It was in multiple POVS and I did love that in this book.

The plot was giving 🙌🏼. It was written well and definitely gave us the character building we all asked for! Thank you Amber 🫶🏼. The world building was also wonderful.

This book was tragic, emotional and amazingly raw in all the best of ways! You see the trials of strength being displayed for numerous characters and it, I 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐓 it will have you emotional! Everyone is being tested and it will crush your soul.

Queen of light includes not only addiction but touches on different types of mental illness so please check the trigger warnings! 📢

In the Day Realm, the queen is unhinged, and on top of that, her mate was killed.

Book 2 continues where book 1 left off.

Anin has been caged by Tatiana, her half-sister. Kes, Etain, Ciaran, and many of the witches that are close to her search for a way to stop Tatiana and rescue Anin.

The torture that Tatiana puts Anin through will make your heart hurt, and your eyes rain.

You see the struggles that Etain and Ciaran face as she becomes not only Queen of the Night Realm but Queen of Witch City, and he tries to find a balance in a world he's never known any different until now.

Kes gives Anin hope to keep her going as much as possible, but that's a difficult task when it's taken over a hundred years to find a way into the Day Realm's castle and around the wards placed by the Day Queen.

Will Anin make it out alive?
Will Etain and Ciaran come to terms and find happiness once again?

If you're looking for a happily ever after, you won't find that here...

After the cliffhanger at the end of Prince of Darkness I was craving Queen of Light; the world, the characters, the banter, everything to see how they would turn around the events that took place. What I loved most about Queen of Light was seeing more of the world we all fell in love with in Prince of Darkness, the multiple POVs of different characters and our favorites from book one, more information on the witches and their magic; especially Etain's! While I did feel that book one had more action and book two seemed to be more about information I enjoyed being back in the world hanging out with my favorite characters and seeing some of the character's growth was exciting! Make sure to read Prince of Darkness (book one), and Heirs of Darkness (novella) before jumping into Queen of Light to get a better understanding of some scenes that are discussed throughout the story.

✨Arc Review✨

Friendly reminder to check triggers before reading! This book has absolutely beautiful chapter headers! This book picks up right where book one ended. Though I feel you could probably read it without book one if you really wanted to but strongly recommend book one!

Poor Anin like I know the others are trying but this poor girl is suffering for years! YEARS?! Come on now 🤦🏼‍♀️ And the changes in Etian and Ciarans relationship are enough to break your heart! Like why 😫 OMG this heartfelt letter to Ciaran was absolutely beautiful!! It put you all the way into your feels!

This book is really slow paced and it was a struggle to stay interested in this read. The story is good! The writing is good! But the slow pace of this book killed me it really only picked up with about 2 hours remaining! The book ends and we still don’t have Anin rescued which is frustrating as h3ll to say the least!

I have the privilege of being on Ambers team. I took my time reading it and I’m glad I did. The book took me down so many different paths of happiness, sadness, grief, despair, hope, torment, disgust, love, pain, history, the love of a mother for her child, the love and passion one has for their mate and the lengths they will go to and the things they will do to protect them. It was beautiful. But girl you had me trippingggg sitting here like SpongeBob screaming at the 60 years later. Tearing my heart out waiting for a happy ending for our feather duster 😭 I am grateful that you gave me Etain and Ciarain but my poor feather duster is going through it. I loved it and it was every bit worth the 5 starts I rated it. I must politely request the next book as I must absolutely know what’s going to happen please and thank you from your loyal Blue Fae and feather duster supporter ahem I mean team member 🥰💕🥺

Ugh, this is one you want to continue reading, but you can't because you have to wait for the next book.

The world building, the characters, and the plot are all wonderful and sucks you in from 1 book. It only gets better from there. To avoid spoliers, this book starts where book 1 left off. This book was rough in a good way. It will rip your heart to pieces and stitch it together. You'll meet new characters you'll love and maybe one you'll hate. The characters we've seen before grow more but stay true to themselves. I love to see all the POVs to give more insight to what they are all feeling, thinking, and perceiving.

I absolutely can't wait for the next book in this series. If you haven't read book 1, do so. Then, read Heirs of Darkness as it gives you the insight for how the male main characters grew and why they are who they are.

This book is absolutely amazing and a great sequel to the Prince of Darkness.

You need to read book 1, Prince of Darkness and 1.5 Heirs of Darkness before reading book 2, Queen of Light.

This story picks up immediately after the ending of Prince of Darkness and the ride doesn't stop until the end of the book.

There is turmoil and pain, conflict and deceit and of course plenty of sass from our favorite crow and "the other prince" of the Night Court, Kes. With fae, spice, rebellions and jealousy...you'll love this book.

Please take the trigger warnings seriously but my god..... this entire series is amazing.
I can't wait for the upcoming releases in this series to see where the story goes.
