Hello fellow readers of Earth!
Like the other books in this series, I was given this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I really wanted to give this a five star rating...I just couldn't. It starts out with the death of a character, there was a lot of traveling, eating, bathing, complaining, running, and people that I just don't know what happened to. There was a character introduced that I thought was going to mean something big, yet he was just there for one purpose, then forgotten about when they were on another planet (maybe I missed where he was killed or went back home?). The Queen was brought back, but there was really no need to. Even in the final chapters with the Mekans, it left me more wondering who was going to die next, rather than the ending that is given. I guess that's really the only way it could have ended, but I was hoping for more of...I don't know...something else. And what happened on Gentra? Did the Mekans destroy that world? Did everything go back to normal? Are the prophets able to see again? It's was the base planet and I am left wondering what happened.
I know it sounds like I didn't like it, but I did. I was never bored by it and I was intrigued by what would happen next. I just really enjoyed book two and, I guess, I was hoping for more of that. The Epilogue does ask some of the same questions that I have about The Chosen, but they are more "what if" questions rather than unanswered questions. I guess my four stars is more of an overall rating for the series as a whole because, though it was good, it was not my favorite of the bunch.
