Revenge Bound

Rate this book
Companion to the first two the books in the Tattoo Thief series (Tattoo Thief and Tyler & Stella) which can be read as a standalone.

On the Internet, secrets never die…

Violet can’t imagine anything worse than having her very private, very naked photos strewn across the Internet.

Until they multiply like a virus.

With her name, address, and phone number attached.

And her boss finds out. And a stalker finds her.

Violet’s refuge is a rock star known for going through groupies faster than guitar picks. Letting Jayce get close enough to protect her exposes her secrets—and her heart—to a man whose celebrity could ruin her.

That’s because being a nobody is the one thing that keeps Violet’s photos from making headlines. And it’s the reason she can never fall for a rock star.

Secrets spread like wildfire when a celebrity fans the flames.

As I am known for reading series out of order often enough, this won't come as a surprise. I have decided to go back and read the in-between books for Tattoo Thief as I have read previously Books #1 and #4. Lucky for me, this is a series where each one is stand-alone, so you don't have to read them in order. In Book #3 we have Jaycee aka JC aka Justin who is in the band Tattoo Thief. He is the playboy one in the band, the guy who never has more than one night stands and lives for groupies. That is until he meets Violet. Violet is going through a hard time at the moment, as she has become a victim of Revenge Porn and it's ruining her life thanks to her ex-boyfriend Brady. For years, Violet tried to be the good girl role model for her father's political career but if this gets out it can ruin him, and of course, Violet doesn't want that and is too proud to ask for help. Jaycee on the other wants to help Violet and stop what he thinks is a stalker, but what happens when he discovers the truth? Will this stop Jaycee from being with Violet or will he try everything in his power to protect her as he wants what Tyler and Stella have and he believes Violet is 'his one"? At the end of this book as well, we saw Dave revealing about Kristina, and as I had already read Book #4 I knew how things were going to play out and were like YAY, finally we can get rid of that b____ Kristina. In Book #3 we also get the introduction of Willa and how Stella and Violet came first to meet her. Something that I loved about this book was that though Violet had thought her dad would be mad at her, I loved how he said he was proud of her and stood up in the political campaign and rallied against revenge porn. This made me smile as so often we read in the stories, where fathers in power use it to their advantage and turn out to be horrible parents.
If you love Music stories, romance with a bit of an edge, then check out Book #3 in the Tattoo Thief Series "Revenge Bound" by Heidi Joy Tretheway.

“I fucking love being a rock star.”

Yay! Another Tattoo Thief novel! I was so excited to start reading this since I really enjoyed the first two in the series! But can I just take a minute to say WOOT!! This was by far the best in the series for me! It is rare for me that the third in the series is my favorite but there was literally nothing in this book I did not like! New Adult – CHECK! Rocker – CHECK! A bit of mystery and drama – CHECK! Light BDSM – CHECK! Hells to the YES!

“I know without a doubt that the image of this girl is going to fuel my frustrated dreams.”

I can be honest and say that I was not in love with Violet and Jayce from the first page. They both just kinda grew on me as I read and before long, I suddenly was wondering how I could have ever not loved them. Watching Jayce go from a playboy rocker to a protective and controlling alpha man was both sexy and endearing. I feel like I watched him grow up. Violet comes into this story with a very unique and difficult problem and it is one she is determined to deal with alone. She does not like to be a burden on anyone. What I enjoyed most about her story was seeing her learn to take pleasure in releasing some of her control.

Let me just say that Bondage and Control is not something I see in a lot of New Adult books and I found it to be a great combo! I loved the more mature theme mixed with the freshness of youth. I liked that since they are both relatively young that this was new for them and clearly something they desired and were able to discover together. Also OMG Jayce in control is HOT!

“But I want to have you. And I will.”

Violet has been through so much and literally has the weight of the world on her shoulders. I felt for her the entire way through the book and desperately wanted her to just let go and give over to Jayce. Heidi did a fabulous job in telling Violet and Jayce’s story. The whole time I was reading it played like a movie in my head and I didn’t want it to end.

“You can’t rescue me.” ” I can try.”

Honestly if you are a fan of hot alpha rockers then you can’t go wrong with this book! While I have enjoyed all of the Tattoo Thief books and recommend reading them all, this story can be read as a standalone. I honestly believe that Heidi’s books just get better and better and I cannot wait to see what she gives us next!

Part 3 of a series but can be read as a stand alone

My Revenge Bound Review ...

I have to admit I adore this series and I was super excited to find out more with the resident tattoo thief 'player'.   As everyone around Jayce starts to pair up he starts to realize what he's missing which is a relationship based on love, but that is hard to find when you sleep with bimbos, groupies and have the rule of no strings attached.  Things are go swimmingly enough until he meets eyes with Violet the stunning red head who is everything opposite of what he usually goes for.

Violet is from a good family but craves certain things but when her ex wants to control her he posts
provocative intimate photos on the internet with her name and contact
info.  This nasty feat is called revenge porn which also causes her to lose her job and earn her a nasty stalker.

Jayce quickly entwines himself into Violet's life to fill a need he didn't
know he needed, especially when he finds out about her stalker and all
the nasty texts she is getting.  Violet doesn't want to be controlled
again so she pushes Jayce away but then she realizes there is a
difference when control is taken away or given away.  The more she falls for Jayce the more she wants to give him control.

As things escalate on the outside of Violet and Jayce things strengthen
between the two of them until the bitch of all bitches tries to hurt
Jayce and Violet which causes a big kink in their new bond.

Now that the secrets are all out Violet is forced to deal with everything and needs the support of her friends and family.

I liked this premise of this story and it saddens me to hear about this
revenge porn and the lows that people will go to to hurt one another.

I adored Jayce and Violet but I can't wait to find out what happens when
Dave kicks that bitch to the curb.

JUST DAMN! This book took the Tattoo Thief series to a who new level! It filled in all of the gaps that I felt were in the first two and then added in a touch of mystery and thrill for added benefit! Not only that, but Revenge Bound is a dual POV book, unlike the first two in the series. I felt that this added a new depth to the characters and story and pulled me in even deeper!

I love that each book overlaps a bit so we see a few important scenes from different perspectives. it really adds a whole new understanding to the story :)

We met Violet in the last book and I had a feeling that she may be a bigger part in the future. She was such a shy character and I really enjoyed getting to see what was eating at her. Having the books overlap a bit truly was a genius idea on Heidi Joy Tretheway's part. Doing this added a new depth to the characters and the plot line and made sure that as a reader I understood where each character was coming from and why they behaved certain ways. I'm not sure that this book would have rocked quite as much if it weren't done this way.

Jayce is the biggest player I have ever read about...I mean seriously! He takes the idea of being a rock-star and having groupies to a whole new level of low! I just knew I was going to hate him...I mean what redeeming qualities could he possibly have?

Well damn if I wasn't wrong! Jayce is one heck of a man. He is sexy, strong, protective and sexy...did I mention sexy?

When Violet's ex puts some not so flattering pictures of her up on the internet and adds in her name, address and phone number it leads to one hell of a story! Jayce is determined to protect Violet at all costs and breaks all of his rules in the process.

The chemistry and sexual tension between these two is EXPLOSIVE! I'm not sure how they managed to wait as long as they did! Seriously, every time they are in a scene together I was sweating and panting and hoping that this would be the one! These guys were just made for each other. Trust me when I say that when they finally let loose...it is more than worth the wait!

Revenge Bound is overflowing with love, lust, tension, fear, suspense, mystery, humor, and just plain romance! The way the story ends is perfect and gives just enough of a cliff hanger that I am dying for the next book...I so want Dave's story! I NEED to know what happens!

The story line in this book is amazing! I love that Heidi Joy Tretheway works in a real life issue with this book. Revenge Porn is huge and it's disappointing that the laws aren't stronger on this type of thing. It is always nice when an author pulls of an epic love story and works in a real life issue to help people learn more about it and the consequences and damages it causes. With the world today revolving around technology it is even more important that we share the ease with which personal photos can and are shared with the world. The side effects can be disastrous! Women share photos of themselves freely with their boyfriends/husbands and never think about what would happen if they ended up on the internet. God forbid someone go so far as to include the personal contact information as well...just wow...that would be super scary! I feel that this book is a very important book to read and share. The message within the romance is intense and invaluable. I want to say a HUGE thank you to Heidi Joy Tretheway for taking the time to write such an important and yet still entertaining and heartwarming story. I know that I will be sharing it with friends and family!

Revenge Bound was a fun read and completely able to stand alone if you haven’t read the first two books. At first, I didn’t know what to expect, because I knew it dealt with the intense topic of revenge porn. Heidi’s writing is fresh, her pacing is spot-on, and her ability to pull the reader into the scene is magnificent. Heidi’s characters are so real that I found myself cheering for them, groaning with them, moaning with them, and all around caring for them and wanting things to just work out and be okay for them. Heidi has a gift for description, and she knows exactly when to include every sensuous detail (oooh, yeah!) and when to leave things to the reader’s imagination, which, I can testify, may just drive you a little wild!

Violet is young, beautiful, talented, smart, independent, and the daughter of a prominent politician. Some would say she has everything going for her. Then she makes a crucial “mistake” by dumping her scumbag boyfriend, Brady, a politician on his way up. As revenge, Brady posts compromising pictures of Violet on a porn website—along with her name, phone number, and address! Suddenly, she starts getting text messages from strangers. Then she loses her job as a middle-school teacher. Bewildered and alone, Violet is determined to deal with her problems on her own terms. Until she lands a photography gig for the band, Tattoo Thief, and meets Jayce.

Jayce is a die-hard playboy who never thought he would need a woman for longer than one night. Constantly surrounded by groupies, he has everything he thinks he needs. Then he meets Violet. She is everything the groupies are not—definitely not his usual “type.” But there is just something about her, something that intrigues him. For starters, she’s real. And independent. And a sometimes fiery, sometimes meek redhead. He finds himself irresistibly drawn to her and one thing leads to another. Will Violet be the one to tame Jayce’s heart? You must read this book to find out!

Revenge Bound by Heidi Joy Tretheway is the third book in her Tattoo Thief series. This book focuses on band member Jayce and Stella's new photographer friend Violet.

Violet was very quiet and reserved when we met her in book two, Tyler & Stella, and now we begin to learn why. She is the victim of revenge porn and the photos that her sleaze-ball politician ex-boyfriend took of her have been released to a revenge porn website and include her name, phone number and address. The harassment has been coming in non-stop. Horrible text messages that also allude to a stalker who is watching her every move. When she steps in to take photos of Tyler for a damage control press release for the band there is a connection that happens between the perpetually single, groupie loving Jayce. Violet doesn't quite know what to do with Jayce's attention and Jayce doesn't quite know what to do with himself.

This series is phenomenal. and I'm sad that the next book will be the last of Tattoo Thief but it also is going to be the most dramatic. While these books can be read as a stand-alone I highly recommend you read them all, in order. You won't regret it.

Ringrazio immensamente Heidi Joy Tretheway per avermi concesso la straordinaria opportunità di leggere questo libro in anteprima in cambio della mia onesta opinione e di tenermi sempre in considerazione per ogni nuova uscita. Grazie, grazie, grazie!

Recensione in anteprima sul mio blog:
http://pleaseanotherbook.tumblr.com/p...

“The opposite of fear is love”

Buona lettura guys!

Revenge Bound by Heidi joy Tretheway deals with a very prevalent topic in today's age of technology but that doesn't often get attention, revenge porn. Violet, the daughter of a congressman, lover of art and an amateur photographer, arrives home from Europe to receive extremely disgusting sexually explicit text on her cell phone from random numbers. Wondering why this is happening to her and where these men obtained her phone number, Violet is unaware of the awful crime that her ex-boyfriend politician committed against her. After being fired from her teaching job, for inappropriate conduct, the Principal briefly shows her a website where all of her information is posted, name, address and phone number, underneath a series of sexually explicit photographs that her ex-boyfriend took of her. After googling herself and discovering how bad this situation is and how much worse it may get if her conservative father finds out about this site, she takes a job from a friend as a free-lance photographer to shoot the band Tattoo Thief during one of their practices. It is at the practice that she meets Jayce, lead guitarist in the band and the epitome of a bad boy rock star. Their relationship develops into many things throughout the book and I was enthralled to find how a bad boy who could care less about the feelings of the groupies that he spends his nights with changes so drastically when he finds the one woman, completely opposite in every way to all the rest, that brings him to his knees.

"She's looking at me. Through me. Her eyes are clear and bright and knowing. This girl is a witch, a sorceress, a fairy princess. I'm fucked."

Jayce likes the easy way when it comes to his women; groupies that are far from intelligent, offering themselves up on a silver platter, in barely there clothing that leaves little to the imagination. He isn't looking for commitment and any time one of them gets to clingy, he tosses them aside. That is until Violet walks into Trey's loft to photograph their practice. He is unable to take his eyes off of her but she leaves before he can even have the chance to speak to her. It isn't until Stella, Trey's girlfriend, asks for Violets help when he is in the hospital recovering from a diabetic seizure. Violet comes to the rescue and Jayce has his chance to finally talk to the quite redhead that he has been thinking about for days. It is while she is uploading the photos that she took for Tattoo Thief, that Violet receives several disgusting text messages and starts to break down that one guy seems more stalkerish then all of the rest, scaring her straight to her core. Jayce, not knowing why he does, feels the incessant need to protect her and fix this problem. He takes her home, lets her cry on his shoulder and buys her a new phone with a new number as the first steps in trying to rid Violet of this nightmare. Of course Jayce is attracted to Violet and he wants her like he has never wanted anyone else but he holds back, knowing that is the last thing that she needs right now.

"I'm not my place to judge. There are plenty of people who will judge you for everything you do, but I'm not about that. I'm just here to take pictures."

Violet tries to gain back the control she is losing a little every day, every time that she receives another text from someone who has seen her pictures online, but she doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. Jayce is trying to protect her the only way he knows how, by using his money and influence to get things done. He just never realized how difficult it would actually be to remove the pictures from the internet. Violet is so worried about being seen with Jayce, the famous rock star who graces the cover of gossip rags, because once that happens the world will know about the websites. She continually pushes him away, even though she wants to pull him close and Jayce continues to confront her, asking her to trust him and accept his help.

Violet knows that she needs to take back the control to fight her stalker and to fight Brady for what he did to her. So she gathers up her courage and does just that. Hacking into his email she finds the proof that she needs to show that Brady isn't the wholesome politician that he claims to be. It is only after taking her on a trip to LA for a party that the band needs to be seen at, that Violet's world is rocked to the core when her secrets are displayed across the headlines of papers and magazines. Worried of what her father will say, of what his contituents will do during his campaign for election to the Senate, she sits him down and explains everything to him minutes before a press conference on the subject. Her father surprises her by standing behind her, saying that he will fight for her and for the other women in his district who have been victims of revenge porn. It is only after coming clean and admitting that she now has the control of her life back, that Violet can truly admit how she feels about Jayce, and he admits how he feels about her, to the point that he put his band on the line, since it was because of the drummer's girlfriend that her secret was revealed in the first place.

This book was a 4 star read for me. I loved that the subject matter was gritty and real, and that even though Violet and Jayce were on their way to a happily ever after, it wasn't easy and there were no clean cut solutions to her problem. It wasn't 100% solved, and that made it all the more real for me. I would recommend this book to others, and I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did.

GREAT MYSTERY

I loved this book! The edge-of-your-seat mystery kept me guessing and I love that kind of angst! There was more substance to the characters as well. There was also more story to the rock star and the price of fame. The ending was a good lead up to the next book which I hope sees a certain woman get the crap storm she deserves.

A mystery I want more of is what happens with the brilliant street artist VIIIM. It is a story that needs to be told! Maybe in book 4???

P.S. Still not a fan of fillers.

3.5 to 4 stars

Violet's world is falling apart. Inappropriate pictures of her were leaked onto the internet by someone she trusted causing her to lose her job and want to hide from the world. It also gains her creepy texts from unknown men and they keep getting creepier and creepier. So her safety may also be at risk.

When Stella convinces her do a photo shoot of publicity pictures for Tattoo Thief, she and Jayce have an immediate attraction. But Jayce is famous and has a reputation of having lots of women. Not anything that Violet thinks she needs in her life. Until she realizes she really does. When her secret is inadvertantly revealed to Jayce, he immediately sets himself up as her protector. Whether she asks for it or not.

I really liked Jayce's transition from man-whore to protector. He stepped right in and took over trying to help a virtual stranger even when she resisted. But as it went along he showed growing depth of character and feelings. He was kind of lost before just going through the motions with the band, no real attachments, lots of women. But once meeting her, it sparked him to be better, to care about someone other than himself, and focus. He is dealing with his own issues about his career and that is also causing him stress. But he makes times to take on her issues and try to keep her safe without hesitation or doubt.

"You are precious to me, Violet. Don't you get that? I don't want a groupie. I want you, for every minute you'll have me and more. You're exactly who I've been waiting for."

I liked Violet. She was sweet, caring and was definitely dealt a bad hand. Her real persona and the one she had always projected was in direct conflict to the one showing up on the internet. She wanted to be independent and it was hard to ask for help. She knew what she liked and really wanted, but had fears and insecurities. And although she felt comfort in Jayce's protection, she also needed to be able to fight for herself as well. And she gained boldness and strength along the way.

"You're like the best kind of fairy tale, Violet. You're the kickass princess."

I felt their chemistry and connection. But I did have some issues with some of the subplots of the book dealing with control and personal needs given the situation they were already dealing with. I can handle personal preferences and control needs but with the position that Violet was already in, I felt Jayce could have shown a bit more sensitivity and put her needs ahead of his preferences at that point in time instead. It had the potential to be a trigger for her and it just seemed like the wrong time to want to explore dominant and submissive tendencies. I would have liked to see a more natural progression to their intimacy that just involved a need to be close and and react to their chemistry without taking on all of their hidden desires right up front. That could have come later after a further build up of trust and intimacy. I had no problem with them liking it, I just did not get them discussing it before anything ever happened especially with what she was going through and some of Jayce's choices in how he approached situations seemed inconsiderate of that. It seemed like their encounters were based so much on control that it overpowered the chemistry and connection at times. But I could see that it did show trust and the difference between taking control and giving control.

There were several story lines going on: band issues for Jayce, the pictures, the stalker, revenge, and politics. There was a lot of underlying drama, tension, and betrayal. It all just kept swirling around and at time seemed hopeless to fix it all.

It was told in both points of view that were clearly marked and provided insight into their often hidden and confused feelings and secrets. All the guys (Gavin, Tyler, and Dave) and their girls (Beryl, Stella, and Kristina) are back. There was also a new interesting street artist named Willa introduced and her story was teased throughout the book.

But when everything finally hit critical mass, I admired the strength of those involved. But I felt one aspect of the story line in particular was left hanging without good enough resolution or revenge(it was teased at but I did not see the follow through). And the ending for Jayce and Violet seemed a bit rushed despite a short epilogue. But I know we will see them and more with their progression in the next book featuring Dave. It was already set up in this one and it seems like lots more drama is coming for Tattoo Thief.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Revenge Bound is the third book in the Tattoo Thief series. This book is definitely about revenge play on an innocent. I would give this book a 4-4.5 stars. It is told in dual POV's of Jace and Violet. It is a part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I have to say I hadn't read any of the other books in this series and I wasn't lost at all with the characters. But now I am intrigued and will be picking up the other books because I have to know more about the band members.

Violet has just come out of a relationship with Brady. He was a very controlling man that left Violet with no voice of her own and she always did what he told her until one day she had enough and broke up with him and took a vacation. When she comes back home all hell breaks loose. She is getting random text messages from men telling her things they would do to her body and they are very descriptive like they have seen her before. She is totally dumb founded and doesn't understand how these strangers got her number and how they know what she looks like. When she finds out that she is plastered all over a revenge website she is devastated. How can she show her face around town after this exposure and she knows who did it, only one person could be so evil. She tries to go about her life and ignore the texts, she gets an incredible offer to do some photographs for a band called Tattoo Thief she just doesn't realize how much her life will change when she meets Jayce.

I study my laptop's screen, pretending to double-check that all of my pictures are properly uploaded. I'm really just buying time before I have to close my computer and actually face the guy who's making my insides melt like and ice cream cone in a heat wave.

Can she get close to him after all this drama in her life or will being with him just make it worse because of his fame?

I wipe my eyes and squelch that thought. I'm getting carried away by feelings for a guy who's everything I don't want. A playboy. A celebrity. A controlling, pushy man who makes my insides liquid and my panties incinerate with just his breath on my skin.

Jayce is your typical rock star bad boy. He has a dark side to him though and has never fully explored what he likes sexually.

Don't think I'm jealous. I've got dozens. I could call pretty much any number in my phone and I'd be hitting that tonight. I'm high from the adrenaline as I stride toward the green room after our show. Shelly and Teal's heels clomp behind me and I could have either of them tonight. Maybe both, if they're down with it. I fucking love being a rock star.

But he can have who ever he wants when he wants but is that enough for him? When Violet enters the picture he is so drawn to her and he doesn't know why he feels so protected over this girl that he just met. When he finds out her secret the possessiveness in him takes over and he knows that he has to have her, protect her. But Why??

She's looking at me. Through me. Her eyes are clear and bright and knowing. This girl is a witch, a sorceress, a fairy princess. I'm fucked.

He knows she is pulling away from him because of his stardom but he doesn't care he gets what he wants and Violet is what he wants. Can he finally show her that no matter what pictures are out there of her that it doesn't matter to him, that he can protect her not expose her further? But what will happen when one of the men that have been texting Violet starts to get more personal and starts stalking her? Can he truly protect her or will his fame finally prove that it will make it worse for Violet? Can Violet be what Jayce needs in the sexual way? Or is her past with her ex too much for her to bare that she can't let her self go completely?

Because I know I could break her. I could get what I want. It's there for the taking. I could wrap the feelings I see plainly on her face together with little manipulations, little steps that tip the balance of power. I could win her, but it would break her. And I want Violet whole. Or nothing.

You will love this story! I am a huge fan now and can't wait for more from this author. I will be getting the other books in this series soon! Thanks for a great story and I look forward to much much more!

"You told me I couldn't keep you locked up in some tower like Rapunzel and I get that Violet. But now you're free. There's no stalker and no secrets hanging over you. You're free to go and free to stay with me, But I want you to stay with me. If you're willing." ~ Jayce McKittrick

Before I read the book Revenge Bound, I never knew there was an actual issue called revenge porn. I obviously know about sexting and things getting onto the internet that people don't want, but revenge porn was something new to me. I'm glad to have learned something new and I'm glad I got to meet Jayce McKittrick because he is the epitome of book boyfriend.

Violet Chase is a good girl. She's close to her family, always obeys the rules, and has a huge need to be in control of herself. While she's away in Europe she begins to receive obscene text messages. Somehow, some very private pictures of Violet were put up on a revenge porn website (you'll find out who did it, the sleaze ball) Here's the thing...it's like next to impossible to get them down.

Things go down hill fast for Violet. The frightening texts increase and become more stalker like, she loses her job as a middle school teacher and she meets Jayce McKittrick who she has an immediate attraction to that she doesn't want to have. Jayce is not someone a good girl like Violet gets involved with. Especially now when she's trying desperately to fly below the radar.

Did I mention Jayce is a member of the group Tattoo Thief? Guess which member he is? Yup...the beautiful man whore dripping in groupies. Here's where it gets interesting. Jayce is insanely attracted to Violet. He'd do like anything for her from the second he lays his eyes on her. Seeing all of his band mates with girl friends he decides he wants more than meaningless hook ups. Now all he has to do is get Violet to believe he could be good for her.

Violet thinks this is the worst idea ever. Being with Jayce would bring her a ton of unwanted attention. But, Jayce doesn't give up easily. When he finds out about Violet's stalker he jumps into action and decides he's going to take care of her.

As attracted as she is to Jayce, Violet is fighting to stay in control (remember control, it's an important theme throughout the story). She pushes Jayce away...a lot. Jayce is willing to take anything Violet will give him, and when they finally get together...BAM!!! Totally hot squirm in your chair while you read chemistry. Jayce and Violet battle through a lot. But don't think they just get together and it's all good. They definitely go through a few pit falls.

In addition to Violet's stalker and whole revenge porn issue, Jayce also has band troubles. One of his band members is a pain and Jayce considers going solo. There's also the girl friend of a band member who's a trouble making uber bitch that everyone needs to watch out for.

Put this all together and it equals a really good story. Yes you'll find out who put up Violet's pictures in the first place. Yes you'll find out who the stalker is, but you have to read the book.

If you're addicted to love at first sight, hot, sexy band boy stories the way I am, go and one click Revenge Bound. I wouldn't steer you wrong.

I'm giving Revenge Bound a four lip smack review. I loved Jayce and Violet, I loved that as down as Violet got she never gave up, and I really loved how sexy Jayce is...I can't lie.

4.5 Stars

Revenge Bound was my first taste of the Tattoo Thief series. Ironically it's book number three... But, good news, it can be read as a stand-alone! *throws hands in the air and dances like she just don’t care* I hadn’t even heard of Heidi Joy Tretheway before picking up this novel and that’s just upsetting, because Revenge Bound was flat-out fantastic.

I want the kind of depth that lets me trust someone to tie me up without fear of a camera. I want the kind of person who would protect me first, last, and always, damn his reputation.

Violet is the daughter of a political candidate, the ex-girlfriend of her father’s running mate (Brady), and the unfortunate victim of revenge porn. You may be thinking, revenge porn, what’s that? Well, it’s simple really. When your ex posts naked pictures of you in compromising positions on the internet because you’re tired of dealing with his sorry ass, you’ve become the victim of revenge porn. It’s sad, sick, and unfortunately happens to people entirely too often. And it’s happened to Violet. What’s worse? He’s not only posted the pictures but her name, address, and phone number as well. Oh, and he contacts her boss to inform him of the pictures… Who does that?! Needless to say, this brings a slew of weirdoes out of the woodwork. One in particular moves to stalker status. He’s dangerous.

Through the help of her roommate, Violet lands a side gig taking some photographs of a popular band. Yes, you guess it - Tattoo Thief! As soon as Jayce, one of the womanizing band members, sees Violet he’s hooked. She’s all he wants, and all he sees. The last thing Violet needs is to be in the public eye, so you can see how being involved with a rock star could be unappealing. When your heart and head are pulling you in different directions things can get pretty sticky. Throw in a precarious stalker, a mysterious street artist, and a demanding father, and you have one crazy read.

Beyond the storyline, which was very entertaining in its own right, the writing was spot on. I am in love with Heidi’s voice, and can’t wait to read more of her work. I guess I’ll just HAVE to read the first and second book in this series. Woe is me… ;)

My only complaint? Heidi used the words “my mound” when Violet describes her naughty bits. That’s just… No. It’s wrong. There are any number of words you can use in place of vagina; please don’t use mound (or her sex…) Please. Mound makes me think she has some sort of hill-like skin issue in her pants. It brings on a bad visual.

Light fingers stroke the hair on my mound…

PUKE.

I’d most definitely recommend Revenge Bound. Remember ladies (and gentlemen), no cameras when you’re getting down and dirty. You don’t want to find yourself in the same position as Violet. Pun intended.

4.5★ AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND

So, let's start with this, hands up if you have ever heard of revenge porn (RP)? NOT ME!! To think that something as vile as this even exists is troubling. To have an intimate moment caught on camera by someone you trust to then have them put the pics/videos on the net for all to see is appalling and from the info Heidi put in the back of the book seems like it's a very real, very big issue.

Now, back to the book, which I really enjoyed btw!! I love when you read a story and learn interesting facts about something new to you at the same time.

Violet Chase is a politicians daughter and has been raised to be a good girl, who has always followed her religious family's strict rules and kept up appearances for her Dad's campaigns. She loves her job as a teacher, even if it is only teaching sex ed to rowdy teenagers instead of her preference, Art. While travelling Europe, indulging in her other favourite thing - photography, she starts to receive obscene text messages from random unknown numbers. On returning home she discovers that the texts she is receiving link back to some very private pictures of her that have been posted on the web for all to see, along with her personal details, by her slim ball ex.

When Jayce McKittrick lays eyes on Violet for the first time while she is doing some freelance photography for his band Tattoo Thief he is instantly bewitched by her. He notices that she is nothing like his normal type......blonde, bimbo, groupie. With the rest of the band partnered up Jayce realises he wants to experience that connection with someone and Violet is who he sets his sights on. Only problem, she doesn't seem to be interested in him at all. When he discovers the texts that haunt Violet, Jayce realises he wants complete control so he can protect her.

This is where is starts to get interesting. Even though Violet is extremely attracted to Jayce, she does not want to hand over control to anyone, be thrown into the spotlight and have the photos of her go even more public. They have done enough damage as is and she wants to stay well below the radar. Only issue is, she can't seem to stay away from Jayce and when these two finally get it on........PHEW, TALK ABOUT H.O.T!!!

Jayce and Violet battle through a lot in this story and don't think that just because they get together it all ends well. In addition to Violet's photo's and stalker issues, Jayce is also having band troubles and that all comes to a head when the girlfriend of a band members brings all Jayce and Violet's problems front & centre.

This book was a really enjoyable read. There is so much going on but the book is well paced and entertaining. The angst and mystery surrounding Violet's issues keeps you intrigued until the very end and lets be honest who doesn't love a sexy rock star thrown in for good measure. All in all I gave it 4.5★ and highly recommend.

*Warning this book contains boundage.*

Jayce and Violet meet when Stella hires Violet to take some press photos of Tattoo Thief practicing. This is for the follow-up after the video was released. Jayce could not take his eyes off of Violet. She is stunning with those beautiful green eyes and red hair that make Jayce forget how to speak.

When Stella asked Violet to take some photos of Tyler to help clear the air in the press about a drug overdose. Jayce and Violet's lives intersect again at the hospital.

As Jayce is more and more entranced with Violet he learns a terrible secret that she can no longer hold onto. Jayce learns about Violet's photos being taken against her permission and by her boyfriend at the time. Now Jayce feels that he must protect her from all these nasty texts, phone calls, and online bullies who have her name, phone # and even address. But when Jayce learns that Violet has a stalker that is close by and watching her, he loses it. Violet is no longer safe at her apartment and Jayce insists that she stay with him until they catch her stalker.

Jayce and Violet become closer and Jayce wants a relationship with Violet but if Violet wants to keep these photos out of the press she must stay a NOBODY and Jayce is a rock star and definitely not a NOBODY. Violet wants to be with Jayce more than almost anything but not at the cost of her humiliation and her fathers career. They have to work as a team to eradicate those photos if they want to be in a relationship that will be public. Or Violet must face the judgement of the press and her family when the photos cannot be stopped.

I really like Violet. She is sweet, shy, maybe even wholesome. But then you get a glimpse of that girl who might like being totally dominated in the bedroom. So takes a long time to trust and that is a good thing. You can not give trust so easily these days. And Jayce worked for that trust and earned it. They made a nice couple although I know that Stella and Tyler are cute together with their differences but I think that Violet and Tyler would have been pretty good together too. I mean they are both pretty private and picky when it comes to choosing a partner. But opposites attract in a lot of worlds so this works out with the two of them.

As for the Kristina character, I dislike her book #1 and was not sure where the author would go with this nasty character. You get a little bit of "okay she's not so bad" feelings for her in book #2 but in this 3rd story her true colors show through. And you dislike her even more.

3.4 to 4 stars

Violet’s personal life is in shambles. Ever since naked photos were posted online with her name, phone number and address, she has been receiving lewd texts and offers from men. But she hopes that as long as she keeps her head down, she can put the photos behind her. When her roommate’s co-worker gets her a freelance job taking photos of Tattoo Thief, she jumps at the chance to make a little money while she looks for permanent work.

Jayce is immediately captivated by the woman who comes to take publicity photos of Tattoo Thief. When he discovers she is receiving threatening texts, he quickly moves to protect her, by keeping her as close as he can.

I had a few issues as I was reading the book. The speed at which she trusts Jayce (and the extent to which they take that trust) was far faster than I was able to believe. Considering she didn’t know him when he first took her back to his house, and that she knew she had strange men texting her, I found it surprising that she would trust this relative stranger so completely.

But by the time I finished the book, I had moved beyond the parts that didn’t work for me, and ended up really enjoying it. It did wrap up quickly, and there are still aspects that I wish would have been cleared up, but with the timeline at the end, there’s always the chance that those loose ends will be referenced in the next book.

It was a slightly different take on a rock star romance. There was a lot of heavy subject matter, with near constant suspense and tension through the story, and less focus on what was going on with the band. It will be interesting to see how events from Revenge Bound play out in the next book, especially with what happened in the last chapter.

I haven’t read the other two books in the series yet, but have added them to my TBR list for future down time. Though the book does standalone, there are aspects of the two previous books that are dropped as references throughout. I would guess that if I had those stories as background knowledge, those comments would have had more merit than they did as I read this one first.

This was not necessarily the type of book I’ve read in the past because I’m not really into all that control/obedience/dominance type of physical relationship but beside that I thought this story was really interesting and quite enlightening. It touches upon a subject that really is important, that is revenge porn, something you can’t control and just tends to destroy your life if you let it take over. Heidi Joy Tretheway wrote a great book describing this type of situation.

We meet Violet (great name) who is in the middle of struggling with some unwanted attention thanks to her d-bag of an ex boyfriend who decided to post pictures of her bound and mostly naked on the internet. This causes her to have a stalker, which is a scary thing on itself. She by chance meets Jayce who happens to be quite famous, which is an inopportune time for her to have any more type of media attention. But there is something about him that she wants to give him control over her.

Mind you Jayce is very much the ladies man so having someone like Violet in his life as a permanent person is a whole new thing for him, but it’s different with her. He feels very over protective of her, wanting her to be safe and with him at all times. It seems it’s his first try at dominance but he loves every minute of it. Again not my thing but still interesting to read about, after all this is something new.

Overall the story was really interesting, with the stalker and I love that they threw in some normalcy with Violet searching for a graffiti artist she’s been photographing. That was fun, the lyrics were not much there but what was there was of it was good. Will definitely have to check out the rest of the series, because now I’m intrigued about the rest of the characters and can I say how much I have Dave’s girlfriend, you’ll know what I mean when you read it.

Great and sexy cover and great subject matter, will be reviewing the other books once I get my hands on them. This was definitely a quick read as well because I couldn’t quite put it down wondering what was going to happen next.

Oh it felt so good to be back in the world of Tattoo Thief. This one is Jayce’s story. I can’t say I have ever been a huge fan of Jayce, except when he had Tyler’s back, until now. Now we get a chance to know Jayce. See who Jayce can be. What is worrying him, decisions he is making, and a little bit about what makes him tick.

Then there is Violet who met first when she was taking pictures of Tattoo Thief during their practice while Stella was writing a story about the band in the last book.

I really liked Violet. She felt real to me, she had emotions and fears that I could see myself having. She wasn’t overly confident, especially with what she is going through, but she also isn’t really wanting to lean on someone else. This is her battle to fight, with the pictures, with the stalker.

Jayce on the other hand while not an overbearing alpha male has a protective instinct, he wants to help her. Jayce has always been the playboy of the group before this so this is new territory for him.

I loved this one just as much as I loved the first two books in the series. The connection between these two felt so real, the emotions both of them felt when dealing with the stalker, it was perfect.

I had to wipe my eyes during one scene. I won’t say happy or sad, so I don’t spoil it, but there is a scene with her dad. You’ll know it when you get to it. I just really felt that scene.

The spicy scenes between these two were hot as they moved into unchartered territory. Both of them wanting the same thing but not sure if they should ask or if they should say yes or what. I’m so vague aren’t I? I’m sorry.

It was just awesome.

I cannot wait to read Dave’s story next. If I wasn’t a huge fan of Jayce’s before, I was definitely not a fan of Dave’s or his girlfriends. Something happens in this book that makes me understand Dave better and now I am impatiently waiting to see what his book is going to bring.

Thank you so much for my copy of Revenge Bound!

A gifted copy was provided by the author for an honest review.

This book felt like a cross between a really good rocker book and a suspense thriller! I liked this so much... I don't know how I never heard of Heidi Joy Tretheway before, but I'm definitely not done with her books yet! I want more of our two main characters!

Revenge P*rn. The worst of its kind. It's what was done to Violet by her ex when she broke up with him. He posted photos of her. He attached her home phone. Home address. Even her name. He violated her in the worst way, and now she's getting texts nonstop and with a stalker on the loose, there is no place Violet feels safe anymore. Jayce, lead guitarist of Tattoo Thief, can't catch a break. The band feels like it's falling apart, he's ready to stop being left in the dust, and he's finally found his dream girl and she's being stalked and humiliated. But Jayce is ready to take control and show his woman that revenge can bit you in the butt.

Overall, I thought this was a great read! I didn't find Violet to be so push and pull with Jayce at times where it got to be too much. She had me annoyed a few times, but other than that I really enjoyed this book. I'm giving it 4 STARS out of 5 STARS.

Can I say Heidi has the best steamy hot book covers. Revenge Bound was the 1st book of Heidi I have read I wished I would have read the other books in Tattoo Thief series. This can be read as a stand alone but there a few references to the other books and there couples.

We meet Violet who is a art/sex ed middle school teacher who once she comes back from a summer vacation in Europe she is fired because of some naked photos that were posted online from her EX that by the way is a total creep and running for a state office.

She is fired and now being stalked because not only did her EX post her pictures her posted all her private information. The girl that sublet her bedroom during her summer vacation is able to get her some freelance photography work. This is when Jace comes into her life and he is a fireball in armor suite wanting to save her and keep her safe. But she is resistant to him since he is a famous rock star that could expose her to the public which would ruin their relationship and by the way her dad also a state senator who could be harmed by this public photos.

She pushes him away as much as he pushes her back. Jace is also dealing with heavy weight on his shoulders between him helping violet, wanting a relationship with her he's dealing with a decisions about his band Tattoo Thief.

I really like Jace and violet story. I did wish that she wouldn't push so hard and stood up more for herself against her EX. But in the end her EX gets what's coming to him and her stalker. Like Violet said she needed to be her own prince charming.

An emotional, intense New Adult read, Revenge Bound was a wonderful romance. It was an enjoyable book that I quite liked.

Violet and Jayce were both great characters. Violet was strong enough to deal with her life falling apart and was determined to pick herself up and move on. My only issue with her was that I didn't understand why it was so difficult for her to accept Jayce's help to deal with the stalker. Otherwise, I liked her.

Jayce was sweet and determined to help Violet. He might have had a playboy image, but he was very loyal to his loved ones and that carried over to when he fell in love. I thought he was wonderful.

The romance was good, both sweet and steamy. Violet and Jayce were a lovely couple that had a lot of trust in each other. And, the chemistry between them was definitely hot.

The pace was a weak point, for me. For about the first half, I was only vaguely interested. I just couldn't get totally into the story. But, during the later half, things picked up for me and I became fully engaged. Overall, I enjoyed the story and I thought the ending was great.

Revenge Bound was a wonderful New Adult romance. With the deep emotions and constant threat of danger from the stalker, it was an enjoyable read. Though it wasn't perfect, I did quite like it. Romance lovers, this is a book you might want to check out.

It's hard to sum up Jayce and Violet in a few words, but if I were to try, I'd go with complex and passionate. Both of the main characters have so much passion not only for what they do but also together. The complexity on how they get there is what makes the story shine.

If you've read the other Tattoo Thief books, you've got a peek at these two characters, but it never seemed like it was enough. I was always mad that I was just getting teased here and there. Heidi more than made up for it with this addition to the series.

Jayce is one of those guys we love to hate. He has a new woman every night, and he wants absolutely no strings when it comes to his relationships with women. That is until he meets his fairy princess.

Violet is struggling with the fact that her douche of an ex put some naked pictures of her on the internet along with her phone number, name, and address. Now she's getting inappropriate texts and being stalked, not to mention fired from her teaching job. Thankfully Stella offers her a shot at a freelance photography gig where she runs into none other than band playboy, Jayce.

I loved this story because it really showed how even though someone has a reputation for being one thing, given the right motivation, they can change. Heidi has done it again, and I am excited to see where she takes the story in the final book to come.

Violet broke up with her boyfriend and he decided to get his revenge by posting revealing pictures of her online. He doesn't stop there though and sends them to her employer to get her fired. If that wasn't enough for her to deal with, she also ends up with a stalker who is extremely dangerous starting out with suggestive texts and continues with pictures of him in her home. Super scary.

In the midst of all this drama she meets Jayce. She is doing some freelance photographs of his band, Tattoo Theif, and they are drawn to each other. Jayce falls hard for her and wants to protect her from all the turmoil happening to her. He also wants to control her, but in the tie you up kink way and not the whole I am the boss of you way. Let me tell you...Jayce is smoking hot when he takes care of her both in and out of the bedroom. I loved that she completely turned his world upside down. I loved that he showed her the real meaning of giving up control to someone you trust in the middle of dealing with such betrayal. They are just so fantastic together.

Revenge Bound is actually the third book in the Tattoo Thief series and I am dying to read Dave's story next.

I give Revenge Bound 5 hearts!

I love that with each new book we find out even more about this band! The first two books were explosive, sucking me in and creating another Tattoo Thief addict.

Jayce, so much more than the average man-whore….oooh he should totally get that on a t-shirt! He just had to find the one- and once Violet stumbled into his life he wasn’t about to let her go. Incredible to see him all alpha protective, and so damn sweet. He’s far from perfect, but if he was that would be boring. And life with Jayce will never be boring.

Violet, so amazing! She did give me a bit of a headache with her back and forth! When she fights back, watch out. Love how she and Jayce challenge each other, their banter and oh so intense passion!

Love dual POV, adds so much to the story, drawing the reader in and making them invested. HJT does a beautiful job with this, as well as providing very unique and honest voices to her characters.

So many twists and turns in this story- bad people revealed, lives changed and relationships strengthened. And can’t forget to mention the addition of Willa’s character, look forward to reading her and David’s drama!

I absolutely loved this storyline...I have never heard of this type of revenge and to know its becoming a huge problem is a bit scary...but anyways and I could put myself in Violet's shoes. I'm not sure I would want those things pictures going public (public figure father or not) too so I could see myself hiding away. I like how alpha male Jayce is and how is trying to protect her which runs the risk of marring his image as well. It was just a great refreshing read and can be a stand alone. My only advice is if you are going to read them all I would suggest reading them in the correct order (not backwards like myself :)) I was content with this ending and intrigued enough to want to read the other so off I go to collect the others as I'm still curious what secret Stella has that is hinted in book 1 and still not revealed in 3 so bravo Heidi you have persuaded me to get it (even though I still want to kind of punch Stella :))!

As much as I thought I wouldn't immediately read this third book, I couldn't help but click buy after finishing Tyler & Stella.

I did not enjoy Jayce and Violet's story as much as I liked reading Gavin and Beryl. I did not like the flip flopping in the points of view - I've never liked that. Start a book with a point of view and keep to it. The alternating chapters was just driving me batty.

I also think that the story was wrapped up way too quickly. I think it would have been nice to have quite a few more chapters in there with Violet kicking the hell out of Brady's reputation and election. Just when it was getting good, it was over.

Is this a standalone book? Just like with Tyler & Stella, I think that you could read Revenge Bound and not be completely lost. You might not know all of the band members well; but you'll know the main characters - Jayce and Violet.

Yes, I will read Dave's story when it comes out. I'd like to know what his secret is.

Book three of the Tattoo Thief series continues with the store of playboy Jayce. He is more than happy with his rock star image and has never thought twice about it until he meets Violet, a freelance photographer helping Stella do a story on their band. Violet is everything Jayce is typically not interested in, including rejecting him.

Violet has a secret of her own that she is hiding from. Her ex boyfriend has posted pictures of her on the Internet as revenge for breaking up with him. It is not just her name and picture, but address and phone number that is spreading like wildlife. This onsets another slew of problems including a stalker who is determined to have her as his.

I absolutely loved the depth of these characters. It is a story line that needs to be told. The Internet is a fabulous, yet scary place at times, especially if you are a victim. In this story you see how Jayce and Violet handle this issue.

Violet has been violated in the worse possible way, revenge photos of her naked and compromising position have found their way on the internet. This bugs me a lot, as it has been in the news a lot. Public or private folks should be able to have their own photos removed from unauthorized sites after all we own our own bodies in this world- enough of my politics...
Violet is a freelance photographer as the Tattoo Thief story continues. She meets the band and takes pictures for a story Stella is writing. She is as drawn to Jayce as he is to her. Jayce is the bad boy of the band, women falling all over him all the time. I love that this story goes back and forth with Violet and Jayce's POV it really draws you into the story. This was intense read and the author really keeps you hooked. I can't wait for Dave's story in book 4. Love it Heidi!!
