So Gohan’s going beast mode huh, alright I’m here for it, man these vibrantly colored bad*sses are starting to give me gym bros auditioning for the wiggles and you know what I think I’m here for it. Cell Max I feel was a little rushed and anticlimactic for how big and cool he could’ve been but it was definitely a strong step up from the last two volumes. Now I just really want Gohan to fight Goku and Vegeta, just to see what might happen. I’m going to lowkey be disappointed though if because of the loss of Toriyama, we never get at least a final closing arc for Frieza. 4.25/5

EN Now this is Dragon Ball, damn it!
Even though it is a bit disappointing that they had to resort to bringing back a more powerful version of a past villain, the truth is that they managed to create a volume packed with action, showing Dragon Ball at its very best.
It is also great to see Son Gohan back in his strongest warrior form.

É também muito bom ver Son Gohan de volta ao seu estado mais forte enquanto guerreiro.

The all-out action packed ending to the Superhero movie version of Dragonball Super. Cell Max is active and reaching his full power. Can Piccole lead the other to defeat this monster? It will all come down to Gohan. Also, what have Goku and Vegeta up to?

The second to last EVER Akira Toriyama Dragon Ball Super Volume!
RIP Toriyama-san....
This Volume is all about fighting Cell Max: Everyone in, and no stopping till he's defeated. After the reveal of his head being his weak spot, the Z-Fighters (are we still referring to them that way?) do their best to pull out all the stops: Fusion, Orange Piccolo, etc. OF COURSE, the only thing that can stop him is for Gohan to finally have his Ultimate Awakening. The manga is in black and white, but he's color on the cover, so I think he has the Ultra Instinct hair, but it's probably different.
By the end, Cell Max is defeated, Pan can now fly, and Dr Hedo works for Capsule Corp.
And, in a surprise final scene: Vegeta defeats Goku FINALLY! All hail the Prince of all Saiyans!
Will Goku and Vegeta come back to Earth in the next and final Volume? I hope so.

Well, we get some nice intense fights, great Piccolo and Cell scenes, some nostalgia building up and great art and as always, can't wait for the continuation, although it will never be the same.

The Super Hero Arc finally comes to a close. This manga version added a lot of neat things, but overall Toyotarou's art is just shittier than the CG animation of the anime film. Kind of just want him to stop drawing and let someone take over when we get to Daima....
Some good shit here: Pan's first show of flight is more "useful" to the Cell Max fight than her escape in the movie (here, she's responsible for bringing the senzu to her father); Gamma Ichigō helps defend Orange Piccolo from Cell Max when Son Gohan is becoming Beast; the Dragon Team third-stringers work to cut off Cell Max's wings, which I think is different from the movie where iirc they just work to pull Piccolo back to the ground.
The first few pages of Chapter 100 are in full-color, giving us some nice visuals for Beast's Makankosappo. Not really "better than" the movie version, but the manga would look shittier if it was stuck in black-and-white for this scene.
As for this arc overall, not just limited to this volume, I do still appreciate the increased focus on Kuririn, Trunks, and Son Goten. I wish the half-Saiyajin didn't have such stupid costumes, and I'm not sure how I feel about the Gammas being modeled after them because I can't tell if this is a "canon" decision made by Toriyama-sensei.
Also, when will Jūhachigō change into anything aside from the tracksuit? She had way more outfits in the original manga...!

Saya menulis review ini setelah baru saja menyelesaikan Daima. Saya tidak membaca review apapun dari para geek, forum, ataupun situs terkait ketika menulis tulisan ini, jadi ini murni pendapat saya pribadi. Saya ingin merangkum pengalaman saya setelah menyelesaikan 42 volume Dragon Ball semasa saya kecil dan 23 volume Dragon Ball Super yang saya cicil sejak tahun 2016 s.d. 2024 kemarin ini, plus anime Daima itu sendiri.
Pertama, saya lebih menyukai penamaan Vegeta, Krillin, Bulma, Piccolo, Majin Buu, dan Hercule pada Dragon Ball Super terbitan Elex yang sekarang dibandingkan dengan versi Dragon Ball dulu, juga terbitan Elex, yang menyebut mereka sebagai Bezita, Kuririn, Burma, Pikoro, Manusia Iblis Buu, dan Mr. Satan.
Fortune Favors Bold
Pada akhirnya, Son Goku dan Vegeta menemukan lawan yang lebih kuat dibanding mereka. Tanpa menyebut entitas Zeno, Grand Priest (ayah Meerus dan Whiz), para malaikat dan Dewa Kehancuran dari multi semesta, secara umum hampir seluruh lawan Goku di Dragon Ball Super dan Daima jauh lebih kuat dibanding ia dan kelompoknya, mulai dari Jiren, Moro, Gas, sampai dengan Raja Gomah.
Seperti yang kita ketahui, Goku dan kelompoknya (serta manusia secara umum) dari Semesta-7 diselamatkan oleh kerjasama tim yang baik (walaupun agak sedikit memaksa) ketika melawan Jiren dari Semesta-11 dalam turnamen antar Semesta. Freeza dan Goku bekerjasama membuat serangan tim, dimana Freeza mendorong Goku dengan energi agar mereka bisa bersama-sama menyerang Jiren dan menjatuhkannya dari arena. Setelah Jiren terlempar keluar, Android 17 adalah satu-satunya yang tersisa di arena, jadi Semesta-7 menang. Freeza (dalam bentuk Black Freeza) kembali berperan saat Goku dan Vegeta mengalahkan Gas.
Moro sang penyihir kuno yang manipulatif juga bisa dikalahkan dengan kerjasama tim. Goku sempat kewalahan karena dia tidak bisa menyerang tanpa risiko besar karena Moro curang menyatu dengan planet Bumi. Jika Goku menyerangnya secara brutal, planetnya bisa hancur dan semua orang ikut tamat. Tapi Vegeta, Majin Buu, Dende, dan lainnya membantu menahan Moro sebisa mungkin. Akhirnya, Goku menggunakan kekuatan Ultra Instinct milik para Dewa, yang ditransfer lewat Uub (Kid Buu). Yang sedikit konyol bagaimana Raja Gomah dikalahkan dengan bantuan tak sengaja dari Majin Kuu. Mungkin Cell Max saja tidak akan mudah Goku kalahkan sendirian (jika memang perlu awalnya), mesti dikeroyok dulu sama Son Gohan, “Shenlong” Picollo, dan dengan bantuan duo android Gamma.
Sayang kita mungkin tidak akan pernah menyaksikan pertarungan Goku dan kelompoknya dengan Black Freeza setelah Toriyama-sensei meninggal, sebagai salah satu cerita yang menggantung. Untung saja Beerus itu wajib netral, seandainya menjadi musuh, itu akan jadi klimaks penutup dari kisah panjang Son Goku, seorang bocah dari desa kecil di hutan yang sudah menaklukan multi-semesta dan multi-dimensi.
Oh ya, jangan lupakan karakter protagonist seperti Granolah, Broly, Meerus, dan ayah Goku Bardock, yang dari pertarungan masing-masingnya kita paham selevel bahkan di atas Goku dan Vegeta.
Rasa Penasaran Terjawab
Pada periode Dragon Ball yang 42 volume itu, sudah beberapa kali terselip cerita-cerita mengenai asal-usul Son Goku, bahkan abangnya Radit sudah sempat datang ke Bumi, berduel, dan mati! Dulu sempat diceritakan mengenai Planet Vegeta yang dijajah Freza, sempat juga sekilas diceritakan kegigihan Bardock melawan rezim Freza, dan bahkan dalam versi lain komiknya waktu itu, sempat muncul Broly. Nah dalam Dragon Ball Super akhirnya diceritakan versi lengkap asal-muasal Kakarot itu walaupun dengan durasi yang sangat singkat, mulai dari cerita tentang Broly (sampai akhirnya ia berlatih bersama Goku dan Vegeta di Planet Beerus), perlawanan Bardock ke komplotan pengadu domba Heeters, juga kisah tentang bagaimana bayi Goku diterbangkan dengan sangat terpaksa oleh Bapak dan Ibunya karena kondisi darurat di Planet Vegeta (ya, kita akhirnya melihat ibunya Kakarot!).
What If..?
Pada bagian akhir Dragon Ball Super, kita juga disuguhi beberapa kejadian yang bagi penyimak Dragon Balldulu hanya bisa berimajinasi, contohnya bagaimana jika Gohan berhasil menemukan potensi terbaik dirinya? Akhirnya kita bisa melihatnya ketika melawan Cell Max. Lalu tentang apakah ada yang lebih kuat dari Goku? Sudah terjawab di atas. Siapa (atau apa) lawan Goku berikutnya setelah sebelumnya berhasil mengalahkan Pangeran Saiya, Freza, Android, dan Raja Iblis, apakah semacam Dewa, atau Malaikat? Dragon Ball Super dipenuhi arc-arc terkait jawaban pertanyaan itu.
Walaupun begitu, saya masih penasaran tentang bagaimana nasib Trunks dan Bulma Masa Depan, dan beberapa pertanyaan-pertanyaan remeh seperti mengapa para Saiya di Bumi bisa bertambah tua (dewasa) namun para penduduk Bumi lainnya cenderung tidak, seperti Krillin, Picollo, Yamucha, Hercule, dan tentu saja Kamesenin.
Daima
Ini kisah spin-off dimana pada masa damai setelah berjibaku dengan lawan dan kawan baru dari multi semesta dan multi dimensi, Son Goku dan kawan-kawan masih mendapatkan challenge dari dunia lain (kali ini disebut sebagai Dunia Iblis). Tetap saja tujuan lawannya itu bagaimana berkuasa dengan memanfaatkan Dragon Ball. Pertarungan Goku dan Vegeta berakhir antiklimaks dimana Raja Gomah dikalahkan dengan bantuan secara tak sengaja dari Majin Kuu. Dari Daima akhirnya kita mengetahui asal-usul Dragon Ball yang dibuat oleh Neva, leluhur Namekian.
Back to Origin, Stick to The Origin.
Pada bagian akhir Dragon Ball Super kita disuguhi bagaimana kelompok Goku (lebih tepatnya Gohan, Picollo, Kuririn, dan Bulma) kembali harus menghadapi Red Ribbon. Dulu, waktu saya SD, menyaksikan gerombolan RR dan teror yang mereka ciptakan mulai dari kemunculan Android 16, 17, dan 18 sampai dengan Cell akhirnya berhasil dikalahkan adalah salah satu periode paling mencekam namun bikin penasaran anak kecil, dimana Goku yang seperti tiada tanding, harus dengan susah payah berjuang melawan gerombolan ini. Waktu itu, Son Goku dibantu oleh Son Gohan yang masih remaja menghadapi Dr. Gero dan android-androidnya, sekarang siklus itu kembali berulang, hanya saja Goku dan Gohan seperti hanya sedikit bertambah tua, sedangkan lawannya adalah Dr. Hedo cucunya Dr. Gero, kembali ke pertanyaan soal apakah Toriyama memperhatikan detail terkait perubahan umur masing-masing tokohnya ini, atau saya yang keliru?
Selain flashback Red Ribbon, Son Goku cs. juga kembali bersua dengan Freza dan Cell. Picollo juga akhirnya kembali diberi porsi beraksi yang cukup. Tongkat ajaib Goku juga, yang terakhir digunakan sebelum Kelompok Vegeta pertama kali ke Bumi, akhirnya juga digunakan kembali di Daima.
Namun entah siapapun lawannya, beberapa hal yang selalu ada dalam Dragon Ball dari dulu adalah kacang ajaib, kompasnya Bulma, dan tentu saja bola naga Dragon Ball, dengan beragam versi baik jumlah, ukuran, maupun jumlah permintaan dan beragam jenis Shenlong, tergantung di planet mana bola ini dicari, dikumpulkan, dan digunakan.
Penutup
Mungkin saja nanti ada spin-off Dragon Ball lainnya, saya tidak tahu. Namun yang pasti kisah Son Goku dan kawan-kawan (dan lawan-lawannya!) sudah mengisi kehidupan saya, sejak kecil sampai sekarang. Jika memang ada lanjutannya, teruslah dalam bentuk 2D, karena bentuk 3D dari rambut jingkrak para Saiyaman itu tidak terlihat begitu bagus (coba cek dalam game 3D dan film manusianya).

Back to Origin, Stick to The Origin.
Pada bagian akhir Dragon Ball Super kita disuguhi bagaimana kelompok Goku (lebih tepatnya Gohan, Picollo, Kuririn, dan Bulma) kembali harus menghadapi Red Ribbon. Dulu, waktu saya SD, menyaksikan gerombolan RR dan teror yang mereka ciptakan mulai dari kemunculan Android 16, 17, dan 18 sampai dengan Cell akhirnya berhasil dikalahkan adalah salah satu periode paling mencekam namun bikin penasaran anak kecil, dimana Goku yang seperti tiada tanding, harus dengan susah payah berjuang melawan gerombolan ini. Waktu itu, Son Goku dibantu oleh Son Gohan yang masih remaja menghadapi Dr. Gero dan android-androidnya, sekarang siklus itu kembali berulang, hanya saja Goku dan Gohan seperti hanya sedikit bertambah tua, sedangkan lawannya adalah Dr. Hedo cucunya Dr. Gero, kembali ke pertanyaan soal apakah Toriyama memperhatikan detail terkait perubahan umur masing-masing tokohnya ini, atau saya yang keliru?
Selain flashback Red Ribbon, Son Goku cs. juga kembali bersua dengan Freza dan Cell. Picollo juga akhirnya kembali diberi porsi beraksi yang cukup. Tongkat ajaib Goku juga, yang terakhir digunakan sebelum Kelompok Vegeta pertama kali ke Bumi, akhirnya juga digunakan kembali di Daima.
Namun entah siapapun lawannya, beberapa hal yang selalu ada dalam Dragon Ball dari dulu adalah kacang ajaib, kompasnya Bulma, dan tentu saja bola naga Dragon Ball, dengan beragam versi baik jumlah, ukuran, maupun jumlah permintaan dan beragam jenis Shenlong, tergantung di planet mana bola ini dicari, dikumpulkan, dan digunakan.
Penutup
Mungkin saja nanti ada spin-off Dragon Ball lainnya, saya tidak tahu. Namun yang pasti kisah Son Goku dan kawan-kawan (dan lawan-lawannya!) sudah mengisi kehidupan saya, sejak kecil sampai sekarang. Jika memang ada lanjutannya, teruslah dalam bentuk 2D, karena bentuk 3D dari rambut jingkrak para Saiyaman itu tidak terlihat begitu bagus (coba cek dalam game 3D dan film manusianya).

Ya lo terminé. Dragon Ball super es un gran caso de estudio para observar como un mangaka crece. Esta nueva historia de Goku y familia empieza con grandes tropiezos, pésimo pacing, páginas que si no se hubieran dibujado no afectaría la historia, batallas aburridas y la misma historia de siempre. No es hasta 6 años de publicación que el manga mejora sustancialmente, a partir de la saga de Moro, continuando con la de granola , la historia se llena de batallas épicas y buen desarrollo de personaje por parte de ambos protagonistas, Goku y Vegeta.
Al terminar me siento satisfecho y me da gusto que Toyotaro haya mejorado en el arte de contar historias, sin embargo el producto como un todo deja mucho que desear. No culpo a los autores de la obra sino a la casa editorial y productora, Shonen Jump y Toei Animation, por está historia llena de tropiezos.
Para disfrutar BIEN dragon ball super uno tiene que ver el anime, las películas y leer el manga , y sinceramente no todos tienen el tiempo o ganas de hacer eso, dragon ball super no se debió haber pensado como una historia multimedia sino haber elegido solo un medio de comunicación y enfocarse en el ya para después adaptarse a otro medio.
Yo solo recomendaría leer Dragón Ball Super si eres fan de hueso colorado de Toriyama, como yo, en los tomos individuales hay varias entrevistas que le hacen y te muestran como corrige la historia o arte de vez en cuando y todo eso vuelve más enriquecedora la obra, lo que más me gustó de leer super fue darme cuenta dónde Toriyama metía mano y corroborar mi presentimiento con las entrevistas y bocetos.

This was such an epic volume and for real I love this adaptation so much more with this one being just the battle action focused one and you get so many cool scenes like the return of Cell and how Piccolo and all are fighting this guy and the weird transformations and all that but as a Gohan fan this was a treat to read seeing the ultimate/mystic version with that long hair and all and I love that transformation and the way the defeat him is awesome and also I like DR HEDO AND GAMMA, and where their stories leave them off.. this is one of those classic anime/manga magic things about how they develop characters and its awesome!
Gohan gets a good ending here too and I just love his scenes with Pan and the way he loves his daughter so much and I can't wait to see where his characters goes from here and this is probably the best adaptation of the movie that we could have had and it wraps up a lot of things and makes the series even more exciting and 100 chs?!! Thats crazy, I have been reading from almost the start and it just makes me so excited about the future of this series and where it goes from there!!

Goten and Trunks team up with Gamma #1 and Gamma #2 but it still not enought to beat Cell Max. Goten and Trunks do the fusion but they blundered it. Gohan, Piccolo and Android #18 join the battle and they aim for the head. Gamma #2 charge up a powerful attack while everyone is pinning Cell Max down. Gamma #2 missed his target and managed to destroy Cell Max's left hand. Piccolo turned orange and become big to stop Cell Max. Gohan eats the last senzu bean and ready to shoot a powerful attack while Piccolo hold it. Piccolo and the others were beaten to death. Suddenly, Gohan unleashed his true power and become Beast Gohan. He used Light of Death to destroy Cell Max's head. Then, Cell Max explode.
In Planet Beerus, Goku and Vegeta were having a sparring. Vegeta managed to defeat Goku.

This volume was a lot of fun! Toyatoro’s artwork looks significantly better than the movie’s cgi. It’s always nice when Super decides to focus on characters other than Goku & Vegeta. I really like seeing Krillin, 18 & even chubby Gotenks joining in on the fight. Obviously Gohan & Piccolo steal the show this volume. I love Piccolo fighting Cell Max in his giant form, it felt like a kaiju battle, or more fittingly for Android 1&2’s theme, a tokusatsu movie.
Hell, Pan was even used well in this volume too!

Cell Max, un vilain sans personnalité qui ne prend que quelques chapitres à battre.
+ La craque de fesses qu’on revoit sans arrêt pour nous rappeler le gag.
+ Piccolo qui avait « oublié » qu’il avait le pouvoir de s’agrandir comme il voulait.
= Gros bof!
L’éveil de San Gohan au vu de la mort de Piccolo avait tout de même un énorme potentiel si Piccolo avait été réellement mort. Le rappel du Makanko Sappo était un bel hommage à la série Dragon Ball Z.
Repose en paix Akira Toriyama, merci pour tes 65 tomes! C’était génial.

The story really hit a solid climax here. I have to admit I’m a vegeta guy and a Goku guy and them missing from the main story was a nice change but also I missed them. Gohan getting a new level up after 3 books of how much he hasn’t trained was kinda lame but I get it. Overall fun story with good new characters.

Very, very good action-focused volume. The big fight was also surprisingly short, with little to no padding at all. This was a really refreshing arc, and hopefully the next chapters will be just about closing the few loose ends it has.

La historia es principalmente divertida y Toyotaro no defrauda con los dibujos. Sin embargo, si alguien vio la película, estos 3 volúmenes son imprescindibles y se sienten más como un pretexto para hacer que la película sea canon.

This volume concludes what was adapted into the Super Hero movie. It's a great battle and features an intense wrap up. It's sad this is the last volume which was released and their is a hiatis right now honoring the late creator's passing. Still, we fans will be around waiting for more to come.
