Gabby is going to be a flower girl in a wedding! But a Never Land fairy hidden in her basket causes big trouble on her big day. Tinker Bell and the Disney Fairies star in a magical early chapter book series for girls ages 6 to 9—The Never Girls!
I started reading this series as a means of staying in touch with my seven year old granddaughter long distance. I read the book and then I send it to her to read. After she reads it, she calls me and we talk about it. It is our own coffee clutch book club except she doesn't drink coffee. The conversations started out more or less as questions on my part and answers on her part. Now we have developed "our clutches" to more in depth observations of actions and effects. It has been real exciting listening to my little granddaughter grow in her understanding beyond that of the story being told. The stories are simple and the characters are slowly being developed. There is Kate who is adventurous and at times it gets her into trouble, next there is Mia who loves dresses, roses and everything beautiful, Lainey dreams of talking to animals and little Gabby who believes in fairies more than anyone. When I asked my granddaughter who she was most like...without hesitation she said "Lainey". Well, the next story due out at the end of April is all about Lainey...The Woods Beyond. I can hardly wait! This is a terrific way to be a part of a little one's life when you can't actually be there.
When I started this series, I thought it was real cute and had some fun elements. I am impressed at how the stories have really developed and they have become really engaging. In this installment, little Gabby is a flower girl at her babysitter's wedding. The fairies have a curiosity about a Clumsy's wedding ( what fairies call humans). There is trouble and a little zaniness that happens, of course. I liked how the world of the fairies are still a secret from the adults. They haven't tried to incorporate them into "believing" in the whole realm of fairies. So the story still belongs to the kids, which I like. Another child is introduced to the fairies but, it's ok. This is a really great series to start young readers, reading for pleasure. It's a great way to escape for a couple of hours a day.
118 pages. Another great book in the series. This time Gabby's babysitter is getting married and she has been selected to be a flower girl. She is so excited she travels to Neverland without telling her sister so she can tell the fairies about the big event. There is a lot of drama going on behind the scenes of the wedding. Girls will definitely enjoy this one. Highly recommended for Grades 2-4.
The fifth book in the series for me and my best girl. This time the fairies visit the human world and get into just as much trouble as the Clumsies do in Pixie Hollow.
Gabby is excited about her role as flower girl in her cousin Julia's upcoming wedding. After Bess expresses her desire to see what a human wedding is like, Gabby sneaks her along so the fairy can have a close up view of the festivities. But before the ceremony even takes place, the pair get themselves into a ridiculous amount of trouble.
"You want to know why I give it a 4.5 rating, Mom? Because of Daniel."
A legit reason if I ever heard one.
*Honestly I have nothing against Daniel but her feelings matter and are the most important part of this review, so 4.5 it is.*
Gabby is so excited that she breaks a promise. Lainey, Kate, Mia and her all promised that they would all go to Never Land together only. But Gabby wants to tell the Fairies about her being a flower girl. Even though she has never been to a wedding before she tries to explain it to the fairies. Bess the art-talent fairy really wants to go because she wants to paint it.
She sneaks through the portal and into Gabby's flower basket. She goes to the wedding but what all can go wrong? I mean it's not like she can get mistaken for a bug or anything as she is a fairy and you have to believe in them to see them? Oh wait, if you are a fairy coated in chocolate you can be. Lots of things go wrong but if the girls work together and a few fairies help, maybe just maybe their favorite babysitter can have an amazing wedding after all.
This is a sweet series, especially good for very advanced young readers. The writing is great and features a varied vocabulary, but the content is light and appropriate for little ones.
Another fun adventure with the Never Girls and the Never Fairies as they attend a "clumsy" wedding. I have been reading this series with my 5 year old and she really enjoys the adventures the girls have and is always pleading for just one more chapter. I would definitely recommend these to young readers, or readers who have parents that read to them.
Jadi ingin punya koleksi lengkapnya, semoga masih mudah dicari.
This is the fifth book in the Never Girls series that Fiona (my daughter) loves reading with me at bedtime. This one follows the youngest girl in the group, Gabby, as she is on an exciting adventure of being a flower girl in her first wedding. Along the way she convinces the fairy, Bess, to visit with her and hijinks ensue. This is another cute addition into the book series.
This one was more boring than previous ones. It just didn’t flow as well in my opinion. I am also sorta annoyed at the whole “can’t go to Neverland alone” pact- it has created more problems than it has prevented. I did like the sentiment of the fairy wings plot line about the being true to what makes you you.
I really enjoyed this book so much! We accidentally skipped book 4 (will read next) but it did not effect the story.
I think I enjoyed this book so much because my children are very much like Mia and Gabby, so much children love when they are the focus. Lots of problem solving and owning up to mistakes/wrong doing plus fairy magic to help smooth things over.
I think that this book was good because it was very breath tacking and it was really interesting. Every time you turned the page you wondered what was going to happen next. When Gabby brought the Faires to the wedding, I was shocked. Overall, it was really funny and exiting. I think people who like fantasy fiction and people who like breath taking stories.
This super-cute edition of the Never Girls series is my favorite so far. Gabby is going to be a flower girl in an upcoming wedding and tries to explain the experience to the fairies. Curiosity gets the better of them and a few fairies sneak off to be uninvited guests, with hilarious results.
My daughter like these book because she is all about fairies right now, but they do nothing for me. I know I'm not the target audience, but we read a lot of middle grade books and many of them I like just fine, or a lot. If I didn't read the other eight in the series that'd be fine with me.
This was an amazing book. It is magical and it can please any young child who reads it. I read this YEARS ago so I don't remember much about the series and this book, but that is okay.
