Laycie Dear considers herself the quintessential city girl. Lately, though, she feels like city life might be getting the best of her. Her 20s are quickly coming to an end, and she has nothing to show for the decade that was supposed to usher her into adulthood. With no job, no man, and no prospects on either front… she’s still very much the same girl, in the same place she was ten years ago. When she’s offered a job in a rural, small-town community, she hopes it will bring her the opportunity at a new beginning. When she lays eyes on her handsome new co-worker with the trash reputation, she wonders if the fact that she’s attracted to him means she’s not ready to change at all.
Dallas Trampert is a country boy through and through. He grew up in the small town of Port Jackson, and that’s where he gained his notoriety. He knows that his reputation precedes him. He also knows that not only did he earn it, but that it’ll be a cold day in hell before the residents of his small town let him live it down. He doesn’t care about all that. What he cares about is getting next to the new girl in town. She’s the first woman to catch his eye in years. He can’t outrun his past, though. And the dirt on his name could possibly tarnish Laycie’s name, too.
The saying goes, opposites attract. Laycie and Dallas are opposites in almost every way, and their attraction to one another is swift and smoldering. But can the couple sustain the blows of life when their foundation hasn’t even had time to settle?
This is my first read by this author but it won’t be the last. The connection between Laycie and Dallas was instant but felt authentic. The author did a beautiful job sharing their back stories that ultimate should have made Laycie run but I’m glad she didn’t. The added drama kept me engaged and eager to see Laycie and Dallas make it to the finish line. I won’t tell what that finish line was but you need to read and check it out for yourself. Well done, Tracy. Well done.
Laycie came to town to find herself but she found Dallas who had a tramp-ish reputation around town. It was on with them at the first glance. Laycie and Dallas were sooooo cute together. Their chemistry, passion and banter made this a book that I absolutely loved. I couldn't stand Denise and that so-called judge of a mama. Laycie's mother was a boss who didn't play about her baby and used her influence to help her daughter and the town. Like she said, she had time today. Mercer was hilarious when he was dropping all of that tea. 😂 There's a couple of questions that I had but that still doesn't distract from how great this book is.
This was my first book that I read by Tracy. It was such a good read. The book is about Laycie who keeps making mistake after mistake so she decides to move to Port Jefferson. Dallas is know as Tramp, he had a short stint sleeping with every woman in PJ and the surrounding town. Although that was over ten years ago, the town folks won’t let him live it down. I don’t want to give any spoilers, there is some drama, lots of love and a family connection between the two!
I love this book. One for the collection. Tracy Gray has done a wonderful job with this book. The story is absolutely delightful. Dallas and Laycie are fabulous together. I couldn't help but get fully immersed in the characters, the story and the twist, and the turns. I had a smile on my face and couldn't help but laugh out loud at points in this book. It was my pleasure reading your book 🥰.
Wow, the drama in this story kept me engaged from the first page. This was a well told story and amazing. The instant connection between Dallas and Laycie. Granted Dallas had a reputation of being the towns tramp, Laycie did both care about that. She took a chance and baby it was well worth it in the end. I didn’t care for the town’s legal system. Listen just read the story it’s an amazing retelling of Lady and the tramp due in adult fashion!
Tracy did a outstanding job with her retell of the fairy tale “Lady and the Tramp”. Laycie and Dallas was definitely made for each other and the way their love story came together was amazing!!
If you love romance with a little bit of drama and a second chance at love for some of the supporting characters, then I definitely recommend that you read this retelling of the Lady and the Tramp.
Good book! I enjoyed the characters and the dynamics between them. However, we never found out the issue between Aunt Sarah and Laycie. Uncle Mercer seemed like he was a character but we only got a snippet of his shenanigans. Anyway, Dallas was sweet as pie and I’m glad that he got his girl.
I really enjoyed this story with Laycie and Dallas, Laycie wanted to find herself and become more stable, so she moved to a small town. That’s when she meet Dallas, known as the tramp aka Community D. Bit as soon as Dallas meet Laycie he knew she would be his wife. I really enjoyed the this cute spicy story. Glad they both got their happiness in the end. 10/10🔥
That was a very good read and since it’s the first read for me by this author I was extremely impressed. Dallas was trying to be so good with his life, Laycie was just trying to find her way in life. Those two train wrecks came together to form a super express in life.
I love a man that knows what he wants and Dallas was that man. He knew that he wanted Laycie and he was sure to show it. Denise, and her momma were trash and I couldn't stand them. This was my first time reading this author but it won't be the last.
This is my first time reading this author and this book was amazing. The are the versions of the lady and the tramp in the series and this is my gaiety favorite. I loved hour laycie and Dallas came together against hood past. Really great read.
This book was well written and I loved reading about Laycie and Dallas. It’s just something about instalove for me and these two didn’t play about each other. Dallas said she was his wife and that’s exactly what he meant!
Nice take on an old story. I loved the way the characters were displayed and how the story line builds with just enough drama to keep you engaged and looking forward to more.
This was a short but beautiful story. I'm glad that them Thompkins got put in their place and Maggie found her way and her man. The Lady and The Tramp. Wow , fabulous.
I loved this book. She wrote it to perfection but I wanted more. I wanted to know why Aunt Sarah disliked Laycie. I want to know the outcome if the investigation into the Thompkins. Overall good read.
I was thoroughly entertained. It is befitting of quaint town living mixed into a grown- grown and sexy version of a fairy tale. It began well, read well, and ended well; definitely one to enjoy.
Loved the story. Three different relationship with two ending in marriage. Now nosey me wants to know who cop baby daddy is. The ending definitely warmed my heart.
I really enjoyed this book with these two characters. At first I thought it was going to go a different way. But I am glad it went the opposite direction.
I feel like Dallas was drugged, but I am glad that situation of his worked out. Honestly if Laycie and Dallas did not end up being a couple I would've been fine because I was not invested in their relationship until the epilogue. The two of them in the epilogue were cute to me along with the rest of their families.
