The beginning of the book actually hooked me. It’s the rest that’s a major problem.

Aksel and Fallon’s faux feud/relationship. It never is actually discussed. He likes her so much he destroys her? Basically she blames him for her bad choices after the breakup. But you never are told how much they were actually together.

I absolutely hate the constant mental dialog that goes on and on. The FMC beating her self up over and over again. There are WAY too many sentences that just add to the word count and do very little for the book or the story. I would normally DNF a book like this. I’m only 25% in and I an already over the incredibly weak FMC. I’m ok with the characters talking about their past, but they allude to it and you never get clear flashbacks even when it’s Aksel’s POV.

I made it to page 187 before I just gave up for 24 hours. Between Askel’s wishy washy attitude and the back and forth with Fallon. Then Fallon’s extracurricular activities beyond her revenge with Graves it’s just way to hard to read it even get into. I’ve found myself skipping a head multiple times and missing nothing. There is too much fluff in the book.

Why did Mia suddenly switch sides? Again another thing in this book that makes zero sense. Just like Fallon’s book club meeting.

Now Chapter 37 and Askel has almost flipped his attitude toward Fallon just like Fallon has. No them or reason.
Chapter 46 Askel’s weird dream. Seriously? That just seems weird. This whole book has a disconnected feel to it.

Chapter 41 she is in an Uber then the last paragraph she’s driving?

Chapter 43 is another disaster. She goes from always competing and dominating in the bedroom to begging him? It’s like it’s not even Fallon’s character we’ve been following the whole book.

Chapter 44 ugh seriously? Mia pushes for Fallon and Askel now she’s getting nasty with her? There is literally no continuity in this book. All these characters have multiple personalities.

Nope. I’m done this was awful.

Would give 4.5 stars if I could

I like my books dark, and this one definitely ticked that box. But all my other emotions were hit too with anger, hot sexy times, despair, happiness, amusement with the character banter and hope. This was a great read with intense spice as well as the dark over the top angst that kept it moving.

Fallon and Aksel had an enemy to lovers history from high school and things ended poorly between them even though they both were 100% in love with the other. When things went South between them, Fallon made some poor choices in life and continued a downward spiral in college. Her family life left a lot to be desired and she always felt like an outsider even among them. Only her best friend Mia was there to help pull her out of the darkness but only Mia could do so much.
Fallon takes everything she has been through and starts a business to help empower women, but no one knows that she uses that on the side to exact revenge on behalf of these women. As Fallon does this, she continues down the slope of darkness into dark revenge and has some control issues especially in the bedroom where she seeks out random strangers but always pictures her ex during her moments of passion. Fallon is forced to attend a charity event on the family’s behalf to make some business deals happen. While there she runs into her past…. Aksel and time has done nothing to burn out that flame between the two of them. Fallon is determined to see Aksel suffer for past wrongs he committed against her.

Aksel has never gotten over Fallon but has his own issues with his ties to the criminal underworld/Mafia ties, being the head figure for his family and a billion-dollar business to run where there is insider sabotage underway. With drama following him everywhere, he has always lingered on the edge of his own revenge darkness, but Fallon was always his light. Aksel has never been able to 100% move on with another woman and Fallon is always in his thoughts. Able to reconnect with her at this charity event just opens the door for him to try to claim her again. Fallon and Aksel go back and forth multiple times and each time you think they are able to move forward a step, they are forced back 2 steps.

There were a lot of flashbacks to things that happened in the past that helped to influence the present and I appreciated that as it gave backstory. The only thing that I didn’t like was how quickly the end actually happened as I felt like there was 550+ pages of build up for the finale to happen in like 40 pages. But I know this was already a hefty book with over 600 pages.

Please check all TW and CW before reading this one. This one had a lot going on. The overall story between Fallon and Aksel. If you hate the miscommunication troupe then you will want to throw this book a couple of times. Lol. There’s definitely a lot of growth done by both main characters so that helped bring me back.

This is the longest book I’ve read in a while and I was not made about it because the writing was so good! Loved all the characters although Fallon was annoying at times. I do like how things played out in the end.

We meet Fallon our FMC who had her heart broken by Aksel and led her down a dark spiralling path of revenge that haunts and fuels her. Neither ever got over the other and once again they find themselves crossing paths because of their family obligations. Both have dark secrets
Is the cost of revenge too high for Fallon to pay and can Aksel pull her back from the brink.
At just over 600 pages this is a long read full of angst, revenge and spice.

🌶️🌶️.5 spice

I thought from the cover this was going to be a very smutty mafia romance read about a fuckboy, maybe about several fuckboys given the plural, maybe a reverse harem situation with all these fuckboys 🤷🏼‍♀️

The book is actually about the FMC’s self help seminar she runs on protecting yourself from fuckboys, which is really just a front for her underground vigilante business targeting said fuckboys that she runs on the side, all while plotting her revenge fantasy over her ex.

Very cool premise, it had such great potential, but I am left feely very conflicted about it. There was some really good character development, and deep exploration of complicated family dynamics, which unfortunately came at the expense of pace and overarching plot consistency.

The first half of this book has a lot of plot development around her business and client meetings, and explores both characters family dynamics quite thoroughly. There were quite a lot of small storylines that were not necessary to the overall story, in a way that took away from the MC’s relationship storyline.

I will be very transparent here - I found the rest of the book very hard to read. It was really well written overall, and I did really like the style of writing but what was missing for me was a consistent overarching storyline, and the characters lack of conviction in their choices.

The nature of the characters relationships constantly change, not just the MCs, but familial relationships too. One minute they’re close and the next there’s some history and unresolved issues that didn’t seem to be a problem in the previous chapter. They flip flop back and forth so much, I thought I’d accidentally skipped pages…actually went back a few times to make sure that wasn’t the case.

One minute they’re so in love and obsessed with each other, want to be together forever and bone for two days straight, then literally 2 pages later they’re consumed by not being able to ever trust each other and fuming at their past betrayal. And this happens over and over again with a culmination of “as long as we have each other it’s ok” resolution…but then it’s not ok again…but also he never betrayed her? It feels a bit unfounded and would have loved a scene where they fully explored that in conversation. It was left feeling unresolved, while other plot points had a hasty and convenient resolution in the end.

This is a contemporary dark romance, Following the perspective of Fallon and Aksel. It has several tropes including second chance and enemies to lovers. I thought that this story was very character driven, it was made up of so much of Fallon and Aksel thoughts, emotions, and their focus in the story. Fallon had it very rough in so many ways: her family, Aksel and some events that happened after, so I really empathize with a number of things she is struggling with in this story. Fallon was definitely all over the place and hard to get a read on so angry one second lashing out at everyone trying to be sympathetic and friendly the next.
Overall, this book was not for me, I had several things come up in this book that I struggled with. One was the repetitiveness that was happening in multiple areas such as Fallon’s thought process. She goes back and forth about her getting betrayed and angry or should she move on, sometimes it happened several times in one chapter and Askel's character was very similar. There was also quite a bit of repetitiveness in some of the events that happened between characters and Fallon kept doing the same type of destruction behavior.
I think that this book could have been shortened, it was about one hundred/ one hundred and fifty pages too long. There were several chapters that did not add to the plot, romance, suspense or drama that was happening, which could have been just left out.
Another thing that came up was certain things were left out. There was a conversation that happened between Fallon and Aksel but as the reader we never got anything that was said and all of a sudden Fallon was angry and betrayed again and I was really confused. The flow of the writing and timeline were off some.
Trigger warnings: rape and drug use.
I received an ebook, via Netgalley. This review is my own honest opinion.

Honestly love a good angst read, and they are often my go to. But this just wasn't the one for me… I didn't manage to feel any angst for this one or much feeling at all. There is a lot of build up or over exaggeration and so it fell a little flat for me. I think if you are going to build something up, then it really needs to hit the mark and not be anticlimactic. I am not referring to the overall book, but more so to a moment that is talked about or built up to be something and then it just happens and as the reader I am felt to think… oh well that wasn't too bad? For example the build up to seeing the MMC for the first time in years. It happened and they both talk and very few emotions were felt as I read it. I thought this was all about heartbreak and betrayal??

The FMC wasn't very appealing, she wants to bring people down, end them etc. She is the only one that can do it… but yet it all just doesn't feel very dark. I am annoyed at myself, but could feel my eye rolls at some points throughout. She is sitting in a bar at one point just thinking about making someone pay, and it is repeatedly mentioned to the point that it just feels OTT and repetitive. I think if you overdo something, it tends to take the impact out of something.

Some of the writing just felt a little off kilter too, the internal thoughts would say one thing but then the speech would be another e.g. "he begins to lay bare the emotions… as I listen to the words" and the only speech written next is "I owe an explanation" and then it goes off with more thoughts and more back and forth, there aren't any heartfelt outbursts, explanations or emotions?

Sometimes the darkness within us is what propels us to new heights.
But what happens when we achieve what we think we wanted? And is it ultimately worth it?

F*CKBOYS is a gripping tale of Fallon's journey through love's redemption, the cost of revenge, and the powerful path towards healing and forgiveness. This is an enemies to lovers, second chance, billionaire romance that will keep you guessing the whole way through.

There are lots of flashbacks from both POV do a really good job of explaining some of the background/history between Fallon & Aksel.
Fallon and Aksel are so obsessed with each other and have such an up and down relationship who are finally able to get it right and make it work.
Fallon does everything she can to push away everyone close to her. Aksel is constantly hiding secrets from his past.

This is a very spicy 🥵 who will dominate who. Also please check your trigger warnings as there is some graphic violence.

Fallon and Aksel do get their HEA once they’ve navigated their friends and families interference. Loyalty is tested and broken. Who can they trust if not each other?

I want to start this review off by saying that this is a very honest review about a book that I was really excited to read and I was then lucky enough to receive an ARC.

When I found the ARC opportunity for this book and read the blurb I was ecstatic. I love dark romance, not to mention a dark, enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance? I was all in. When I received the ARC I started reading right away and I noticed about 10 chapters in that it was really repetitive.

Fallon and Aksel were on two very different paths throughout the whole book. Fallon was seeking revenge on Aksel for her poor life choices and lack of communication skills and Aksel was trying to win her back and make sure that she stayed safe especially when she started to lose herself to the darkness of her actions.

I am in no way a great writer, hence why I read, but it got to a point where almost every chapter felt like it was saying the same thing just in a different way. I really tried to push myself through this book and actually make it about 60% of the way through. I even made it to the spice and thought that it was going to get better, but it unfortunately didn't.

This book had so much potential for me, but unfortunately I just couldn't move forward. If it wasn't so repetitive I would have flown through it in a day, but instead it took me over a month just to DNF.

This is in no way hate to the author, but just saying that maybe this book wasn't for me and maybe this will help anyone else thinking about reading this.

F*CKBOYS is a captivating story about Fallon's journey of redemption through love, the cost of revenge, and the powerful journey toward a wholesome, rewarding relationship with God. You will be kept guessing all the way through this exciting second chance, billionaire romance, and how enemies can end up being lovers. Between the two main characters in this book, there is a rollercoaster ride of emotions that leaves you wanting more. The story revolves around a journey of revenge and redemption, as well as the wild paths and turns along the way. Several flashbacks from both perspectives do a really good job of explaining some of the past and history that has been shared between Fallon and Aksel and which is quite interesting to read about. After suffering from such a long-term relationship that is full of ups and downs, and finally getting a chance to make it work, Fallon and Aksel will finally be able to get it right and be together. There are many people close to Fallon who have tried everything in their power to push them away from her. There are many secrets from Aksel's past that he continually tries to conceal.

This was a good book. This book follows Fallon and Aksel. Fallon is a very strong, independent, troubled woman. She runs a business to help woman see the signs for a f*ck boys and dark side business thats behind the scenes. Aksel runs his family business on both sides. His family has strong mafia ties but also runs a very corporate businesses. Fallon and Aksel are high school sweethearts with a whole lot of love and hate. Aksel has always been in love with Fallon and vice a versa. But unfortunately Aksel messes up really bad and lets Fallon get away. And unfortunately after there break up Fallon has a lot of bad things happen to her which makes her start both her business. But after some time they reconnect and unfortunately at first their relationship is built on lies and false assumptions. (Pretending to be something) they finally spill all their business on the table and try to make things work. And once again try to find the light in both of there darkness. It is a slow burn. So it takes a while for the story and the characters to reach a point where you know them and their story.

An intense book at times with a strong female lead who is working through her past trauma. This is explained the further you get into the story. Fallon Dempsey the main female character is running a company that helps women overcome the F*CKBOYS or men that have come in and destroyed their lives. Hers included. You are taken on a journey through her life and how she continues to work through her issues by helping other women but at the same time still not finding what she needs herself. Along the way, she runs into her old love or what she thought was love Askel King and here the story between them takes a turn that is very difficult to describe, for she has many emotions and they all come to the surface when they are together good and bad. There is sex and some dark scenes but everything goes with the story. I must say I found myself understanding where she came from being a male older and with sisters and four daughters I could understand her plight. Overall a good book with good characters. F*ckboys, written by Heidi Stark, is a dark revenge romance. This is my first by this author. I was in the mood for something dark after reading some warm, fuzzy, feel-good romance books. This one is definitely that.

The book follows Fallon and Aksel. They both went to the same high school, gave each other crap, and also captured each other’s hearts, only for them to part ways. Fallon starts her own business, which she uses to enact a form of dark justice for those who deserve it. Will this darkness consume her completely, or will love help her find redemption?

This is a dual POV that has a lot of flashbacks that are used to help you understand the relationship between the two characters. There definitely is a rollercoaster ride of emotion. There is a lot of healing to be done and trauma to work through. I enjoyed the spice and the dark themes.

Thank you to Heidi Stark for gifting me an eARC of F*ckboyst. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a rollercoaster on steroids! The emotional upheaval is beyond neck breaking: Fallon’s past plays havoc in all of her relationships including the love of her life, her family, and her best friend. I can’t imagine how heartbreaking and lonely she must be when she doesn’t feel like she can trust anyone.

Heidi Stark illustrates how volatile Fallon is with her dialogue and narrative. Aksel created so much of her psyche when they were in high school: her lack of trust, her sadness, and her desire for vengeance started with his betrayal. I felt her range of emotions as she spiraled, as her darkness grew, and how conflicted Aksel made her.

There’s so much in this story: betrayal, lies, secrets, violence, and vengeance. Just when it looks like Fallon and Aksel are finished with each other, their sexual tension would explode! These scenes are extremely intense, steamy, and exquisitely dirty. I hope that Grave gets his own story, cause I think it would be very interesting.

"Vengeance is in my heart, death in my hand, blood and revenge are hammering in my head.”

Fallon has made it her mission, her profession, to make sure that f*ckboys pay handsomely for the things they do to women.
She's the one who'll exact revenge for all who's deserving. Fallon is a force and Heaven help anyone who gets in her way!

"I am the harbinger of retribution, and he will pay for the agony he's inflicted."

Aksel King is the man who's got the bullseye on his back.

"His outward persona is merely a façade, a mask carefully curated for the outside world, because within, he's a predator, a connoisseur of suffering. Everyone else is second-class according to him. Especially women."

Will Fallon succeed in what she's set out to do or will she cave in to his desires? F*ckboys is my first read by this author. It's quite lengthy, very intense and definitely can't forget hot! There's a lot that goes in this book so sit back and enjoy the ride.

"It's time to embrace a new beginning"

This is not only a spicy, revenge-seeking romance, it is also one of learning to trust and love again.

The story follows Fallon and Askel, kids/heirs of two rich families that have some dark pasts. Fallon herself runs a slightly shady business model, while Askel is trying to repair his families history while winning back Fallon, the one he truly loves but that he broke. We learn a lot about their respective pasts, as well as get some really hot and heavy scenes featuring them. If you are not into revenge and enemies-to-lovers tropes, this book is definitely not for you.

You see Fallon’s descent into darkness, but you also see how her friends, and specifically Askel help to pull her from the edge. But not only do we see the guy save the girl, we also see the girl save the guy. This story is heartbreaking at times, maddening at others, and just plain spicy/smutty during the rest.

”One filled with light and positivity."

This enemies to lovers/revenge romance grabbed me from the opening chapter. I loved the concept of FMC turning her pain into business to help other women avoid that same mistake. This story opens with Fallon (FMC) hosting a seminar on how to identify these types of men and empowers the women in attendance. My first thoughts were, “You go girl!”

At a charity event her family forces her to attend, she runs into Aksel. The inspiration behind her business. Sparks still fly between them, and Fallon sets out to get her revenge. She plans on teaching him a lesson.

This story will take you through a gambit of emotions. There is drama, laughter, tears, and smoking hot smexy times. I loved this author’s writing style and plan on reading more of her work.

Be prepared, this is a long book. It is over 600 pages. However, do not let that deter you. This book is worth your time.

If you like your books dark, this one definitely delivers. But it doesn’t stop there—it hits every emotional note, from anger and despair to happiness, amusement from the character banter, and even moments of hope. The intense spice and dark, over-the-top angst kept the story moving at a rapid pace. This book is an emotional rollercoaster between Fallon and Aksel, with themes of revenge, redemption, and the wild journey in between.

The flashbacks from both POVs are well-done and provide important background on the history between Fallon and Aksel. Their relationship is full of obsession, ups and downs, and ultimately, they work through their issues and make it work. Fallon pushes away those close to her, while Aksel hides secrets from his past.

This book is definitely spicy with a “who will dominate who” dynamic. Also, be sure to check the trigger warnings, as there’s some graphic violence.

Trauma has a way of impacting not just the individual going through it but those around them. And though each person goes through it differently, in this case, Fallon’s character in “F••k Boys,” her inability to address, as well as the lack of support, had led her to a path of delivering justice to those people who have wronged others. Since she had been “wronged” in her past, she was determined to help others not go through what she did—by any means necessary. However, nothing quite quenched her thirst to heal and find peace.

“F••k Boys” was quite heavy regarding themes and length. Author Heidi Stark takes readers through Fallon’s and Aksel’s story from present to past and back again, weaving it through and building up so much emotion along with the characters. There were several scenes that I felt emotionally spent when Fallon would spiral.

Heidi Spark’s “F••k Boys”—emotional, action-packed, full of heartbreak and retribution—was intensely raw throughout, but I was pleased with the ending.

F*ckboys by Heidi Stark is a roller coaster of emotion. Fallon, FMC, came from heartbreak and betrayal by the love of her life to becoming a vigilante for all others who’ve been broken and betrayed by their partner. Her business is to get revenge for the heartbroken.

Askel, MMC, is Fallon’s heartbreaker even though he’s still in love with Fallon. Their relationship is all over the place throughout the book.

Overall I felt that it could’ve been shorter because it seemed like some of the chapters were long-winded and could’ve been skipped. I like how we learned about the characters’ past through flashbacks. The sex scenes were steamy and scattered throughout. I really like this author and look forward to reading more of her novels.

OMG! I couldn't put the book down, this story was exhilarating and the characters were sensational. This was about Fallon and Aksel, revenge, betrayal, lies, secrets, twist and turns, action, suspense, danger, violence, killings, kidnapping, heartbreak. Aksel has always loved Fallon when they were at school together then he broke it off, he couldn't keep dating his family didn't allow it. The people that seem to stir trouble between Fallon and Aksel. Aksel is Mafia they have everything illegal happening in the family business that he has never talked about. Aksel was summoned to Fallon's fathers office, he didn't want to keep it a secret from her. The love hate relationship can they get it together and keep the love flowing.

A good book that was angsty, suspenseful and steamy! Definitely a slow burn which at times made me want to quit reading and hurry the story up, but I am glad I persevered as I liked the fact Fallon and Aksel had to work through their issues. Both had pasts that broke them, Askel tore Fallon’s heart apart leaving her broken and lacking trust. Both still love one another but emotional baggage lacks trust.

Her Vigilante justice business leads her down a dark revengeful path. Fallon is a strong character who knows what she wants but her clear view of revenge prevents her from being truly happy. Forgiveness leads to healing. This was a good book that is worth picking up, it is a dark read that’s has you wanting more.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I want to start this off by saying that you should always read a book for yourself l, because what one person does not like someone else will. As for me I feel like this book could have been so much better had the time line of events that happened in this book been changed up a little bit. I also wish there was more interactions between the two main characters l, it felt like the interactions that we did get to read about mostly focused on the spicy scenes(now don’t get me wrong I truly enjoy a good spicy scene. With that being said I would have personally enjoyed seeing them interact more. The FMC was definitely very whiplash back and forth one minute she loves him the next she’s planning his murder then back to “oh I love him”. This book just wasn’t for me. I do feel like it was a good book though.

Meet Fallon and Axel. Two people cut from the same cloth. Both went to the same high school, both gave each other a hard time, and both captured each other’s hearts…. Only for them to go separate ways. Fallon just wanted to get out from her families shadow and start her own business, something that gave her purpose and access for justice for others. With a dark side attached! Axel wanted more to life for his sisters and his brotherbut he was just a shadow for now. Mafia around every corner intimidated his family, his work. He needed to change things, but how. Then in walks Fallon, where will they go, what will they do?
F*ckboys is Fallon’s story on how she was destroyed after her one love destroyed her heart… she fell into the wrong crowd and things went dark for her. Now she makes others pay for the things they do, now one dark movement at a time. Will she see the light before it’s too late for her? Or has she lost the innocence she once possessed?
Axel has cared for his brother and sisters, run his company and now is trying to find the traitors in his company. Oh and he’s also trying to win back his one true love.
The book started off slow but picked up and I really enjoyed it. Heidi did a great job in building suspense as well as world building. She did it in ways that made each person shine in their own way at their own pace.
I didn’t really enjoy how the MFC was more on the whinny side but it was not enough to discourage me from continuing. It most likely made the storyline I would say. There was some dark moments that made me cringe but again easy to understand and get through. Overall I enjoyed this book and wait patiently for the next. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys enemies to lovers, mafia romance and second chances. Thank you Heidi Stark for this wonderful opportunity.

F*ckboys by Heidi Stark

I, for the longest time let this review sit in my head after closing the book. It's a long one and I wouldn't call it a romance. I had a hard time feeling the chemistry between the main leads.

It involves lots of the ugly emotions we all carry, revenge, anger, resentment, hurt, betrayal and the darkness we all have in us. What we choose to do with it is different.

The heroine of the story, Fallon has been wrong multiple times, by her family, the man she thought she loved and other close ones. Fueled by rage, she exacts revenge for those who have been wronged just like her. She's a strong character but still flawed which I loved about her.

Keeps you on your toes, this one.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely a slow start to get into but once it got going I enjoyed following Fallon and her quest for revenge while trying not to fall completely into the darkness.
Aksel is definitely one of those men who would burn the world for Fallon and I always love to see that. I did find a few parts of the story could have been expanded and felt like I missed part of the story which made me feel like i wasn't fully immersed in the story. But overall I enjoyed a different take on the female seeking taking control of her life and finding the balance between light and dark in her own life, With the help of some good Ole romance of the irresistibly irritating Aksel King of course. I would definitely love to read more of this universe!!!
