The books in this series are delightful and fun! The mysteries are always puzzling and the interaction between the characters is usually amusing. I recommend this series!
Amazon synopsis: With crime getting the jump on Clover Grove, it’s no surprise when a self-defense class launches. Ivy looks forward to learning new moves to stay alive and kicking.
As the sessions begin, she also confronts her most complicated animal rescue yet. A long-held dream of owning a wallaby has manifested in a far bigger package.
A kangaroo on the lam is a daunting challenge, but Ivy and friends hop right to it. When a local citizen dies under mysterious circumstances, however, the feisty marsupial is on the hook for murder. The runaway roo is lucky that Ivy has a few tricks in her pocket and never rests until justice is served.
We are back at Runaway Farm with Ivy and the gang. As always Ivy is in over head when her wish for a wallaby comes true. Well... sort of. During what is supposed to be a self defence class, what should Ivy just happen to see hopping by. A kangaroo?!! Thus we begin our epic tail. I love this series. It only seems to get better with every book. An amazing cast of characters that seems to grow with every book and new and inventive ways for Ivy and Keats to find trouble. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Ellen Riggs once again has a 5 star book! Roo the Day has all the characters we have come to love! When Ivy, Keats and the gang are on an adventure you know you have a book you don’t want to put down! This book had a mystery that kept me guessing and laughing out loud at Ivy’s adventures! I’ve read all the books in the Bought-the-Farm series many times. In this book Ivy got a surprise when she kept wishing for a wallaby. You definitely want to read this book to see what mischief Ivy gets into with Keats, Percy and the gang! This book has it all - mystery and fun!
Roo the Day is another murder and animal rescue mystery. I always enjoy a trip to Runaway Farm. I love catching up with Ivy, her family, friends, pets and animals. This time a pair of kangaroos is on the loose. The roos witness a murder. Ivy really tries to stay out of the murder and focus on capturing the roos, but her luck always seems to put her in the murderer’s crosshairs. I was totally engaged in this well plotted book. It is another exciting adventure with a lot of emphasis on the isuues/crimes in the hills.
I LOVE this series! This installment was no disappointment! Ivy, Keats, & Percy nearly lost the game of Life this time! OK! OK! So it's not the first time! But even Ivy thought this was the end! All brought on by the kidnapping & subsequent escape of a three part kangaroo family! The underlying crime is about as surprising as seeing a big jack roo hopping out of the woods for you!! If you're not this far in the series yet, well hurry up! 😁 but not so much that you miss the surprises always in store for Ivy!
Roo the Day, the newest installment of The Bought the Farm series by Ellen Riggs, was a delight from start to finish. All of my favorite people made an appearance and their continued growth keeps me loving them! The family dynamics really shine, and make me wish I could attend a Butter Tart 911 just once. The only real downside is now waiting for the next book, which fingers crossed has more on Ivy and Kellan’s upcoming wedding.
Another fabulous visit with the Clover Grove gang! How does Ivy end up wrangling roos in the middle of America?? Leave it to Ivy! And of course, there are crimes and mysteries to solve along the way. Who is the "kangaroo prophecy" about? Who is the stranger in their midst? There's a little more of the family dynamics in this one and maybe not quite as much time with Ivy's old-timers posse. But there's plenty of all to satisfy.
A dead man no one has seen for years, missing kangaroos, and more secrets in hill country than you can shake a stick at! Ellen Riggs does it again - this is an edge-of-the-chair book as Ivy and her four-legged "bosses" search for the two missing large roos, and stumble upon clues to the murder as well. Need I say that trouble follows? Of course her extended family and friends are in on the action too. Don't miss this! - I received an advance copy and freely leave this honest review.
This is one of my all time favorite Cozy Mystery Series. I have read every one and was sorry when they were over. Some I just had to read again. I also increased my vocabulary as I learned a few new words. If you like a mix of fun, mystery, murder, cooking (theres usually a recipe in each one) and of course animals..there is no way you won’t appreciate and love this series. The characters come to life and seem like old friends to me now. I’d give more stars if I could.
Another book in the Bought the Farm series, and as you can tell, Ivy’s quest for a wallaby might very well be closer than she thinks, but not quite what she was expecting! Along with new and interesting animals, the gang is back at Runaway Farm to get tangled up in another murder to solve, along with all of her friends, two legged and four legged! Buy this book to add to your collection! It is a hoot!
Ellen Riggs is such a wonderfully entertaining author. I’m always so excited when a new book of hers comes out, especially a Runaway Farm book. Her books never disappoint. I love Ivy, her dog Keats, and her cat Percy. Ivy’s world is crazy, fun, full of danger and full of animals. I’m always intrigued to see which animal she rescues next and how Etna Evans saves her. I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
My anticipation for another great story starring several wonderful animals and their humans was almost overwhelming. Upon reading this new chapter in the life of all on Runaway Far (m) I felt warm, cozy and satisfied. And they caught the bad guy. I can't wait for the next adventure. My only complaint is that the books are too short. I could read each story forever. Write fast! :-)
Ivy bones up on Kangaroo knowledge when a family of them are released from horrible conditions. Travis's brother is killed and the investigation leads Ivy, Jilly, Edna, Gertie and the Rescue Mob searching for the Kangaroos but also finding evidence of previous murders. Love Keats and Percy who help as only 4 legged can. Another great read from Ellen Riggs.
It's another Runaway hit from author Ellen Riggs. This time, the story revolves around some Aussie imports. Ivy, Jilly and all the crew are on hand to wrangle a couple of Kangaroos when a murder breaks out. Lots of surprises in this one folks, so be sure to grab your own copy of "Roo the Day" so you won't be left behind in this ongoing saga of love, friendship and and dogged adventure.
Always, always, always a fun, exciting story about a new animal and a little bit about family relationships. I learned a good bit about kangaroos, also.
A male and female kangaroo are rescued from an illegal zoo. They escape and finding them and getting them to a safe place is deadly. Great book and story,
