Dyslexic people face many problems in the difficulties with reading and writing, memory, organisation and time management, and a recent TUC report on dyslexia in the workplace estimates that 3 million people are affected. This guide is written by a leading expert in the field for people of all backgrounds and abilities and will help readers to master complex organisational skills, deal with a large workload and cope with the demands of deadlines. It also shows how to improve confidence, deal with stress, and build on the creative talent that many dyslexics possess. It explains what dyslexic and dyspraxic difficulties are; describes how they affect workplace efficiency; offers strategies to manage dyslexic difficulties and reduce their adverse effect on work efficiency; and, provides information about ways in which employers can help dyslexic employees.
Dyslexia is a constant battle. There is no drugging or monetizing dyslexia, so for the most part it gets ignored. The frustration of not keeping up leads to all sorts of other problems that although not easily fixed, can be managed. Developing systems and inventing ways around everyday tasks is what this book helps with. Since the 80's I've had a reminder printed for myself: "You'll have to work twice as hard to get half as much." Sadly, it's a private battle that you alone must fight. Dr. Moody's book contains some very revealing traits that dyslexics must deal with in constructive ways.
Its a really hood tip book to read if you have these problems like I do. I'm already using the list tip for my school work and it's been so much of stress relieve! Just if your reading this book and your from the USA just ignore the parts when their talking about British help companys because it was written in England but the fact are still all the same and the tips are really helpful!
Good information. Lots of helpful tips. This book is very helpful but the extra support the book is U.K. sources, so if you are U.S. the extras you will have to investigate on your own.
