A grammar of the Somali language with examples in prose and verse and an account of the Yibir and Midgan dialects This book, "A grammar of the Somali language," by J.W. C. Kirk, is a replication of a book originally published before 1905. It has been restored by human beings, page by page, so that you may enjoy it in a form as close to the original as possible.
I appreciate the work that was put into organizing the written Somali language into a text, however for instruction - this fails to give proper understanding of the intricacies of Somali. There are quite a few words that were "translated" that can't actually be translated to English. It'd be nice if a revision were to be done on this book. Also, the latinized alphabet now is quite different than the one that is documented in this book and I struggled to read the classic prose as it was hard to read.
