Colby McNichols, otherwise known as the baby-faced assassin, is the left wing for the Western Wildcats hockey team. All he has to do is sign his name on the dotted line and he’ll play for the pros after his senior season. What I’ve heard from the girls on campus, who aren’t shy about spilling the tea, is that he’s totally earned his reputation.

And then some.

It’s just one of the reasons I choose to steer clear.

Trust me when I say that my life is complicated enough without getting tangled up with a player.

For reasons I can’t fathom, Colby has decided to insert himself in my life. Everywhere I go, there he is. Which makes holding him at a distance nearly impossible. He might be smoking hot but there’s zero point in starting something with this guy. Especially since I can’t be honest about who I am.

Unfortunately, a weekend spent in Vegas changes everything.

Turns out that our friends weren’t the only ones who tied the knot in Sin City.

I can only hope that what they say is true—what happens in Vegas stays there.

Because if it doesn’t…

I’m screwed.

And not in a good way.

1 Star for Jennifer Sucevic having the lady balls to write "Except…I’m not like most girls". I can't say it was the right choice, but it was a gutsy one, so kudos for that. The other 1 Star is... a courtesy star.

📌“Never say never, Britt. It’ll get you in trouble every single time.”

📌“There aren’t many people who see me. The real me. And I think you just might.”

Colby. 5 stars.

That’s the review.

I’m serious.

Fine. Be like that.

Here.

😌

Every time I think my heart can’t possible find room to love a Western Wildcats couple just as much, Jennifer Sucevic says “hold on” and makes a 15 year old fangirl out of me yet again.

Colby is this shine brighter than the sun hockey player, who makes it impossible not to fall for him. No matter how much we try to stay strong. So, I get it, Britt. I soooooo very much get it.

But don’t sleep on our girl. B is a rockstar, no pun intended, who will have you wrapped around her finger in 5 seconds flat. And the way she effortlessly fit in our favorite besties group… goals! I want to be you, girl. Minus the whole life before you got here. Uff, you dodged the biggest bull*t there.

All of this to say, yes. The answer to the question “do I need this book?” is yes! 😜

First time I read anything from this author, I was impressed with the story and wound up liking the main character Colby when at the beginning of the book I couldn’t stand his arrogance. Bren thought she knew his kind but he also worn down her defenses!! 🥰

Never Say Never was my first book by Jennifer Sucevic. It packed many favorite tropes, from a vegas wedding to forced proximity to secret identity. The tropes were executed well and I liked how they all played out.

I did really enjoy the secret of Britt's background and how that carried on. At first, I thought we were getting a little sappy and there would be some washed out trauma going on, but was pleasantly surprised when her background started revealing itself. I found the dynamic in her friend group interesting and made me want to read more.

While Colby was super cliche, it was my favorite kind of cliche. I love a bad boy who falls victim to instalust and can't get over it. I also really liked how he took charge and owned his feelings early on, but still respected Britt's boundaries and moved at her comfort level.

Unfortunately, there were a few super cringe moments that I just couldn't get past. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the stories, characters and friend groups. Without those moments I found the book fun and easy to read. It was good, just not my favorite.

Colby, Colby, Colby! Seriously, what a fall he had!!

"What can't be denied is that the more this girl holds me at a distance, the more I want to break down her walls and discover what makes her tick."

This story really captured my heart. I loved that Colby McNichols - manwhore extraordinaire - completely fell for Britt, almost against his will. I enjoyed how they got under each other's skin, even though Britt fought against their Vegas mistake. I loved that the more she held back, the harder he worked to win her over. I melted at his possessiveness! He was super hot with his dirty mouth and sexy ways. This was such a fab, fun, steamy story, with a gorgeous, melty conclusion. Loved it!

This is Book 4 of the Western Wildcats Hockey Series

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰

Never Say Never is a fun and steamy romance set against the backdrop of college hockey and the glitz of Las Vegas. With its engaging storyline, relatable characters, and sizzling chemistry, this book is sure to keep readers entertained from start to finish.

Britt is determined to keep her distance from Colby McNichols, the notorious player on the Western Wildcats hockey team. Despite his reputation, she finds it increasingly difficult to resist his charms, especially when he keeps showing up wherever she goes. However, Britt's complicated past and her inability to be honest about herself pose significant challenges to any potential relationship.

Never Say Never offers a tantalizing mix of romance and adventure. As Britt and Colby find themselves caught up in the whirlwind of Sin City, they must confront their feelings for each other and the secrets they're keeping from one another.

What sets this book apart is its exploration of trust and vulnerability. Succevic skillfully delves into the complexities of relationships, showing how honesty and communication are essential for love to flourish. As Britt and Colby navigate the ups and downs of their romance, they must also confront their own insecurities and fears, making for a compelling and relatable read.

Never Say Never is a delightful romance that will appeal to fans of college sports romance and romantic comedies. With its witty banter, steamy encounters, and heartfelt moments, this book is a must-read for anyone looking for a captivating love story with a dash of Vegas flair. Don't miss out on this engaging and entertaining read that will leave you swooning until the very end.

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

I love this series so much! Colby (the baby faced assassin) was just everything I wanted, needed and more! I go feral for a playboy that gets his entire world rocked when he finds the right girl, and holy hell Colby was all in. I loved him.

And you know what I loved even more, Jennifer is not afraid to write a blond MMC, she has several, and I will always Stan a blond MMC!

TROPES ⬇️

✨ Hockey Romance
✨ He Falls First
✨ Vegas Marriage
✨ Hidden Identity
✨ Forced Proximity

Britt and Colby were so good together. I loved the banter. I loved the fact that she tried so hard to shoot him down and her was just not having it, and I thoroughly enjoyed just how big of a Simp Colby was for her.

I love this entire friend-group too and I love that it gets stronger with each book. It’s a great dynamic and the banter is top tier.

Ans the spice in this one…. Oooh Colby had a dirty mouth and a “my wife” kink and I was here for it! I am always one that just melts for the my wife vibes.

This was a fun easy read and I absolutely recommend it for any hockey or sports fan !

Wow! This is smoking hot! Colby, the Western Wildcats ultimate playboy, cocky, arrogant, the bunnies love him; is floored by this girl who isn't struck by him, doesn't care about his NHL pedigree and he's compelled to get to know her and discover more.
Britt has up and left the reality show that is her life, needing to get away from it all and heads to her aunt and uncle and the university town they live in. A change of look and going to college brings some normalcy to her life, friends for the first time, experiences she missed out on growing up in the spotlight, but she's not ready to trust anyone with her reality.
I loved Colby's determination to wear down her defences, the banter was on point, the action between the sheets hot and steamy, and the whole scenario they find themselves in was extremely entertaining. These two were engaging characters and the secondary characters, the other hockey players and their girlfriends, added immensely to the likeability of the overall story.
Once started, I found this hard to put down, knowing it was all going to blow up at some stage and dying to know what would happen when it did.
I enjoyed this delightful story a lot.

I think my expectations are too high for this series due to all the earlier books which led to me being disappointed in Never Say Never. Even though I absolutely adored Colby and was so excited to read his book!

In a couple years, Colby McNichols will be a household name. He’s too hot, talented, and charming not to be.
That combination is a magical trifecta.

Colby McNichols.
The baby-faced assassin.
The guy on the campus who is guaranteed to make your night. But he is the one who does not want any more than that.

I have the sneaking suspicion that whatever this is with Brit could turn out to be something more.
If I let it.
And if she gives me a chance.

Britt aka Bebe.
The singer and reality star.
She escapes to Western University to live her life under the radar like any other student.

“What’s your name, beautiful?”
“I’m not interested. So, feel free to move it along.”
“Excuse me?”
“I said that I wasn’t interested. Hockey players aren’t my thing. Now, if you’ll—”
“Sweetheart, I’m everybody’s thing.”

From the beginning, when Colby spots Britt, he is drawn into her and she steals her attention. Unfortunately, the feeling is not mutual. Even though she finds him attractive (because how could she not?) she knows that she cannot get involved with anyone since her life is already complicated enough. That is, after all, part of the reason why she came to study at Western and hide her identity.

Britt and Colby share a friend group since pretty much all Britt’s friends are dating Colby’s teammates. Therefore, they are bound to spend some time together, whether they wanted to, or in Britt’s case, or not. Colby is trying to integrate himself into Britt’s life but it is not going as well as he would want to. Still, his interest in her does not fade, even if they have never even kissed.

All I can say is that what happens in Vegas is definitely not staying in Vegas.

When Wolf and Fallyn decide to get married in Vegas, the whole gang takes off for a weekend in Vegas. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Colby and Britt end up sharing a room. The tension rises and, in the end, Britt decides to give in to her attraction to Colby. After all, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?.

After the wedding, the whole gang is out celebrating and Britt and Colby end up drinking a bit more than they should. In the morning, they find themselves in the same bed, again. Only this time, they notice that Fallyn and Wolf are not the only ones who decided to get married the night before.

“I don’t have to know you personally to know your type. I’ve seen it a million times before. Trust me when I say that I’m not what you’re looking for.”
“I was just about to take off. But it was nice not meeting you.”
“Let’s keep it that way, shall we?”
“Never say never, firecracker.”

I loved the accidental marriage trope in this book (though it was dampened a bit with me reading another ARC just before this with the same trope) but, unfortunately, the whole shebang surrounding the trope ended up being a bit meh. The drama was mostly missing and the whole book felt mostly like happy ever after that was taking place little by little after Vegas.

I knew Britt revealing her identity to Colby was bound to go wrong and I was dreading the third-act break-up due to it. In a way, it ended up happening but I feel like a hypocrite because I am now thinking that I kind of would have wanted to have more drama. The whole drama surrounding the revelation of Britt’s identity ended up being anti-climatic.

“We’ll just call you the Colby whisperer.”
“Not only is it a job I never applied for, I’m pretty sure it’s one I don’t want.”
“Too late, firecracker. It’s already yours.”
“Damn. I was afraid you were going to say that.”

The banter in this book was really good between Colby and Britt. Especially Colby’s contribution to it. That ended up being a huge savior of the book because the banter as well as the writing in general made this book really easy to read.

I was a bit disappointed that Britt’s family ended up staying in the background because I feel like they affected her desire to escape LA to a large part. They were also part of the reason she wanted to leave the spotlight for good and that part of the book was never given its conclusion.

Britt’s past was also referenced through Axel who made an appearance at couple of different points in the book. We all know and get that he was an asshole, but his role in the book stayed pretty insignificant. I feel like he was an important part of Britt’s life but the state of their relationship was never really discussed in depth.

I’m not into his brand of handsome.
He’s way too attractive for his own good.
Even worse than that?
He knows it.
And uses it as a weapon of female destruction.

The dynamics between Colby and Britt were pretty normal. Colby was the hot shot hockey player after whom all the females on campus lusted and who was known for his affinity to one-night stands. Britt, on the other hand, is the girl who sees through his bullshit, does not fall under his spell like all the other girls and is the independent type who needs no man. Even though, in the end, she actually realized how boring her life was without him.

All in all, this was a pleasant and quick read but a bit too lighthearted and lacking in depth for me.

Britt and Colby’s story has me sitting here like a giddy school girl! I loved seeing the playboy meet his match and fall to his knees for his woman!

I love how sassy and strong Britt was and though I would’ve loved a moment with her and the girls and her and her mom, I do love how it all played out. A very sweet and SUPER sexy story!

I liked it

There’s just something about a good college sports romance that’s includes a bit of secret identity and a drunken night together between friends. Colby has a reputation and Britt doesn’t want to find herself added to his long list of ONS. Colby is easy to like, he’s shown bits of himself in the previous books and he’s determined to win Britt’s heart. As for Britt she’s hiding from herself and in the process falls for her unlikely suitor. A fun read with never a dull moment. And a HEA you feel in your toes.

Can we all agree that in the real world, the behavior Colby exhibits at the beginning of the book would be considered aggressive and stalking??? When he meets Britt at the bar, she makes her feeling very clear and says “I’m not interested”. He continues to pursue her in the bar, even standing outside the bathroom. Hello, creeper! And then he shows up to her apartment unannounced??? THEN he invites himself along on her “date” with the next door neighbor??? In no world would this be ok.

Let’s also talk about the premise that they go to Vegas to see their college friends get married and everyone thinks this is a great idea. Gee, two 21 year olds getting married. This is a great idea. And then Britt and Colby get suddenly married?!?

Can we also talk about Britt’s whole side story? That she was on a reality tv show and then just up and left. And then no one recognizes her at all? I also take fault in the family storyline. Her mom is controlling and manipulative but there is no interaction. Then the conflict with Axel at the end? He’s verbally aggressive but just walks away? And there is no resolution with the family or her reality tv show? Also, the conflict between Colby and Britt was low key laughable. There needs to be way more character and plot line development.

Book is spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️ but I think the author overestimates the sexual prowess of college students. Coby has lived the sexual life some adults strive for in only about 4 years. But I often times think authors have no clue what early 20 year olds are like.

Book is fine. I read the first two books but skipped the third. Probably will pick up the last book. But probably will only do so if it comes across my suggested for you.

Universal

Britt left her old life behind and has started over as a college student. Her identity is a secret even from her new friends. If anyone ever finds out who she really is, she'll have no privacy just like before, and she cannot handle that suffocating life any longer. Then the baby faced assassin aka Colby, hockey god and king of one night stands, invades her life and will not leave her alone even though she rejected him soundly during their first meeting. But an outing to Vegas for their friends, means she and Colby have a new wrinkle to their relationship, one that will be tested if (when) he finds out the secret she's been keeping.

Colby's whole focus his entire life has been hockey, to get drafted to the NHL. One incident in his past left him with trust issues and has made it so he doesn't believe in relationships or love. But when a beautiful brown haired girl knocks him and his focus off kilter, suddenly he can't stop thinking about her, is inserting himself into her life just for a chance to get to know her. Even though she keeps rejecting him, he's determined because what Colby wants, he usually gets. He might find though that he regrets getting what he wished so hard for...

What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, but we all know that's not actually true. So of course it wasn't true for poor Britt. I felt so badly for her when her backstory came out, and it was just as she had known it would be. I didn't think at the beginning that I would be able to say this, but Colby turned out to be perfect for her - after a minute of processing and a talk with his mom, he stuck around as her rock, and it's why I knew they were actually a great couple. Their banter is snarky and on point, their chemistry is seriously hot, and the ending is so sweet. I've loved this hockey series so far, now I can't wait for the next hockey god to fall.

Hmm. This book felt more like a high school read than anything else. But it was a little too descriptive in some ways to make it as a high school book. The characters were okay, but it was hard to ever develop attachments to any of the main characters. The friends were so briefly involved that they came across as just names.

3 marriages, no divorced and course everyone knows who everyone is at the end with a bow.

I usually like this author, but I’m so tired of asshole, gaslighting main characters. “I’m charming so I get my way - doesn’t really matter what you’re saying, just what I want, so I’m going to steamroll over everything you say and pretend it’s the same as you agreeing.” At one point the MMC points out that he always respects when a girl says no. Ha! The entire first half of this book was him not respecting the FMC saying no. DNF @ 60%. I just couldn’t take it any more.

Never Say Never was different from what I expected from a marriage in Vegas and yet the story of Colby & Britt made me fall in love with them! I loved their dynamic as a couple, the way Jennifer Sucevic developed the story between them and the personal plot that each one had throughout the book. I also loved seeing the previous characters in the series and getting to know a little more about the next guys in the series.

Britt is a reality show star who is fleeing fame and takes refuge in Western to live, for the first time in almost a decade, a common experience, his personal story was complicated and causes him a lot of problems, especially because he has to hide the truth from Colby and the girls, in whom she finds a beautiful and unconditional friendship that she doesn't want to lose, but that nor can she fully reciprocate because of the things she hides from them. Britt has a strong personality, she loves her family despite the complexity of her situation and I loved the way she manages to put a stop to Colby's constant flirting. I also liked that her fear and insecurities about the secrets she keeps were something so real about his character and I LOVED that his love for music was present from the beginning of the book.

Colby was a character I didn't expect to love so much: the handsome, playboy from Western, son of an NHL legend and one of the best players on the team, with a flirtatious, cocky and unfiltered personality, but who can also be the sweetest, most tender and thoughtful. Colby has a very good relationship with his parents, I love the way he talks about them with Britt and how he turns to his mom when he needs advice, I also loved reading the type of relationship he has with his teammates and how much what they mean to him.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the way everything happens between Britt & Colby, how he becomes obsessed with getting to know her even though she doesn't seem to be able to stand him, how they start spending time together, end up getting married unexpectedly in Las Vegas and as he struggles to convince her to give their marriage a chance while they create a beautiful routine, Colby learns to trust her and Britt gives herself the chance to really know him. And although they don't have an easy path, I think everything in their story happens at the perfect time and without unnecessary drama.

Never Say Never by Jennifer Sucevic, Britt has just transferred to Western University and for the first time in her life she feels happy and has a group of sincere friends, these girls have made her feel welcome since they met her and now that she has them she had no idea how much she needed them, on a night they are sharing in a bar in the campus, a guy approaches her, whom she knows because his reputation precedes him, and flirts with her, although she cannot deny how handsome he is and what he makes her feel, she is not interested in adventures or relationships so she rejects him. Colby McNichols is a playboy, very handsome and is part of the university's hockey team, so he always has girls following him waiting for him to give them a chance, but when he sees this girl at the bar and she rejects him he feels like this is a challenge, and although his friends' girlfriends warn him to leave her alone, he is determined to conquer her and when a trip to Las Vegas presents for Colby it will be the perfect opportunity to make something happen between them, after a night of celebration and drinks will wake up married. Colby is in no rush to rectify that marriage, he finds himself increasingly attracted to Britt, but Britt hides a secret that when it comes to light may change like all those who have become his friends and, more importantly, Colby himself, see her, and probably lost them forever.
I loved this story! Colby is charming and had me smiling and blushing at the same time, Britt was struggling to find herself and without planning it she found true love and a wonderful chosen family. This group of characters is charming and I will definitely be looking for the stories of those I met here. I was pleasantly surprised by this story and I will be reading more from this author. Totally Highly Recommended!
*Thanks to Jennifer Sucevic and Wordsmith Publicity for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

¡Totalmente Altamente Recomendada!
