Rate this book
"Make Me Real" is a delightful story about a little girl named Brett and the tiny doll, Persis, who becomes her best friend. Persis can only come alive when she is loved by a child, and must return to being a regular doll when that child grows up. Dare Wright (1914-2001) is the beloved author of "The Lonely Doll" series. She wrote and photographed "Make Me Real" the 1970s, but this is its first publication.

A sweet book about a little girl who gets adopted by a very demanding doll ("Make me pants! Make me a t-shirt!"). The lesson the book teaches is that toys can never be taken for granted because they require a lot of love and attention. Dare Wright photographed this wonderful short piece. It's the literary equivalent to Prozac, very peaceful, very calming.
