Based on dozens of interviews and covers such highlights of the legend's career as his 1978 induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, his 1964 performance in the Pro Bowl, and the remaining of the Packer practice grounds at Nitschke Field in 1997.
This book by Ed Grover was as excellent as his book on the Ice Bowl. A fully faceted book about one of the all time greats covered Nitschke’s evolution from an angry young man to a kind and caring family man which creating a menacing havoc on opposing offenses. This was a great book.
Was great book when the writer was writing on Ray. But lots of times the author strayed away, but the overall writing was fine. The grammar and factual errors bugged me because they were so common. Jerry Kramer played at Idaho not Iowa, and the misspelling of Wisconsin towns was depressing for a guy that epitomized Wisconsin. Wausau isn’t Wassau.
I think that it is very good that ray takes all of his aggression out during football and not in other times. because if he did that might end up with him getting arrested or worse.
