Rate this book
Book One in the new Only in Goose Hollow Series, coming April 4th, 2024.

One weekend.

No names.

No complications.

That was the deal we made. But the moment she sat beside me at the hotel bar, I wanted her to complicate the hell out of my life. I agreed to all her terms but one. I wanted her name.

She promised to give it to me before checkout.

She lied.

She snuck out without a trace, leaving me to wonder if the best weekend of my life had been a figment of my imagination.

Now, two years later, she’s here. In my town. At my store. Only she didn’t come looking for me. In fact, her arrival is nothing more than a coincidence. With the anger I’ve bottled up since the morning she ditched me threatening our shot at a second chance, I know I have to take control of the situation.

And this time, she’ll be playing by my rules.

This was so cute! This felt different than your typical small town romances. We start off in California, where Callen & Charlotte meet at a hotel bar and decide to have a one night stand, that leads to a weekend. With no names exchanged, Callen is left wanting more when Charlotte leaves him. 2 years later, when Callen is back in his small town, working in his family owned store, Charlotte walks in without a clue that she is about to come face to face with the man that she couldn’t forget. But Callen doesn’t make it easy for her! He is PISSED!! She had promised to give her name before the end of the weekend, but ghosted him. But with her living in the same small town, they run into each other constantly. And do they ever have the physical connection and chemistry!! 🔥 They just have to keep their clothes on to actually figure out if they could be more. This book is spicy, swoon worthy and filled with all the things you love to see in a small town romance! I can’t wait to see what Lisa has planned for the rest of the series!!

When Charlotte met Callen, she was a crossroads in her life and wasn’t in a position to pursue a relationship. Instead, she agrees to a steamy weekend as long as they don’t exchange names or details and leaves before he has a chance to convince her to give him more.

It’s been a couple years since Callen saw Charlotte and now fate has brought her into his hometown. He is conflicted between the betrayal he feels by her abrupt departure and realizing that the feelings he has for her still remain.

Great chemistry, a little suspense and two people who have always belonged together and now it is finally the right time for them to be together.

Cal & Charlie have a weekend together. Terms of the weekend? No names. When Cal wakes up at the end the weekend Charlie is gone & didn’t leave a name or contact.

2 years later Charlie is in his town on accident but she cant seem to stop running into him. 2 years later & Cal is mad once again that she just left without anything.

During Charlie time in town her & Cal start bonding again. They share names, more time together, & their past.

This is a cute, insta connection, small town. Cal stole my heart just like he did Charlies. Very protective “touch her & die”

Charlotte had the best weekend of her life with a stranger, literally, considering they agreed to no names. Well, until near the end when she agreed to give him her name, but left after a call and didn't leave him a name or any way to contact her. She's never forgotten him since, so imagine her surprise when years later her getaway seems to be his hometown. And he appears less than enthused to see her.

Callen has wavered from the intense need to find the woman who spent such a wonderful weekend with, to intense anger that she walked out on him without a word. Now she appears in his town years later and what? He's supposed to welcome her with open arms?! He definitely isn't going to do that. No, what he's going to do is confront her and demand she play by his rules. This time she's going to be his, the way she should have been before.

Whew, Cal is intense and angry and so possessive! Charlotte is a breath of fresh air to poor Cal, who had been living with such a burden for too long. Theirs is a sweet, very much deserved second chance, with a great secondary cast, and a bit of suspense to keep things even more interesting.

The initial book in Lisa Shelby's Goose Hollow series offers a captivating contemporary romance that delves into the complex themes of love, trust, and the potential for second chances. The story follows two individuals who share an unforgettable weekend, only to separate without disclosing their names to each other.

This duo was undeniably powerful. Their bond is something that’s hard to fathom, even for someone like me who enjoys romance novels. I appreciated their playful exchanges and her desire for autonomy, which often irritated Callen. He radiates a strong, possessive, “she’s mine” energy, and the entire community is aware that she belongs to him, even though they frequently work to ensure their relationship goes beyond mere physical attraction.

The relationship between Callen and Charlotte truly intrigued me; over the past two years, Callen has transformed into a completely different person from the man Charlotte once recognized. Each character bears their own emotional scars, grappling with their histories while feeling the weight of their present circumstances. I was especially drawn to Callen's fierce protectiveness when he observed other men attempting to attract Charlotte's attention at his brother's bar. While his siblings remain oblivious to the shared past between Callen and Charlotte, they can't help but be intrigued by the intensity of his responses to her being there.

The secondary characters enriched the narrative, and I am excited to discover more about Callen's siblings in upcoming stories. I found his sister particularly captivating, especially the connection that blossomed between her and Charlotte, which introduced an additional layer of fascination to the plot. The dynamics of their relationships, coupled with the intricacies of their histories, weave a compelling fabric that captivates you and leaves you craving more.

I am a sucker for small towns, cowboys and second chances and this book checked all the boxes! This was my first read by Lisa Shelby and will definitely not be my last.

Callen and his don't touch what's mine vibes were giving me all the sexy feels. I love a protective and possessive man.

Charlotte and Callen meet at a bar after both being stood up - plot twist...although they didn't know it at the time, they were both stood up by the same person. Their chance encounter leads to a weekend of unforgettable passion and promise, and both feel the charge and chemistry on a lever higher than the physical. Callen makes it clear he'd like to see if they could be more and Charlotte agrees in the throes of passion. Only Callen wakes up alone and with no names exchanged he has no idea where to find his dream girl.

Fast forward over two years and fate intervenes when Charlotte shows up in Callen's hometown of Goose Hollow after suffering a tragic loss. Mr. Grumpy pants cowboy Callen treats Charlotte horrible and is in no way open to forgiving Charlotte for running out on him, even his heart doesn't agree.
When walls start to come down, and their passion reignites they quickly pick up whee they left off.
Of course, nothing in life seems to come easy for this two and events begin to unfold that make you understand why they both are the way they are.

Callen will have no parts of someone messing with his girl and goes full on alpha protective mode. The twist and turns kept me on the edge of my seat while the bond and love these two formed and built kept my heart all warm and fuzzy. The path to Callen and Charlotte's HEA was hard fought and not without trials, triumph and angst, but it was so worth it in the end.

I can't wait for more of this series!

Only Wanna Dance with You is book 1 on the Goose Hollow series by Lisa Shelby. This was my first book by Lisa and it didn’t disappoint!

Callen and Charlotte meet in L.A after both being stood up at a bar and they agree on one weekend, no names, no feelings just lots of fun! But as chance would have it 2 years later Charlotte goes to his hometown of Goose Hollow to get away where they run into each other.

I absolutely loved the connection Callen and Charlotte had even during their weekend fling. They were so at ease with each other and were able to open up and talk about things they normally wouldn’t. Though they decided to keep it a weekend fling with no names they both left that weekend thinking about the other until they saw each other again.

Callen is your sexy, possessive cowboy with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Charlotte is a sassy, loyal and successful woman who is unhappy with being a lawyer but afraid to do something else and fail! During this book there is huge character development, that Callen and Charlotte help each other navigate. They build each other up and believe in one another and push the other to follow their dreams.

This is a fantastic romance book with some twists and turns to keep the book progressing and keep you interested. The chemistry between Callen and Charlotte is phenomenal and the banter is on fire! And the supporting characters are just as amazing and sweet. Can’t wait to read the next books in this series 🥰

This book was a great surprise, it is my first Lisa Shelby book, and it came to stay as one of my favorites this month, I loved it, second chances are one of my favorite stories and this is one you don't want to miss.

We have Charlotte and Callen who meet one evening at a Los Angeles Hotel bar, they have an instant connection and decide to spend the weekend together without sharing their names, before even saying goodbye Charlotte decides to leave. Two years later they meet again in the least expected place, in Callen's store, only she is not there to look for him. Their attraction doesn't fade over time, but Callen's anger and Charlotte's fears could ruin their second chance.

God Callen and Charlotte, their chemistry is undeniable from the first moment, they are perfect together and made for each other, throughout the book we see their relationship evolve and connection become stronger,

The evolution of both characters is incredible, the most special thing about their personal growth is that they are there for each other supporting, holding each other up and pushing each other to follow their dreams. Callen seems to carry the weight of the world, he is an amazing person, loyal and protective but also a bit stubborn and has a hard time letting go of some things, but that is just what makes the character so memorable. Charlotte is successful, sassy, loyal but not happy at all, she doesn't remember the last time she followed her dreams, and it scares her how much she wants Callen in her life, she's great and deserves her happy ending.

This amazing book has everything to become a favorite, romance, unexpected twists that keep you hooked, side characters that will leave you intrigued and a couple with an awesome connection.

Only Wanna Dance with You is the first book in the Only in Goose Hollow Series, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Thank you for the ARC of this book.

TWs 😟: FMC has a stalker, violence, death of a parent

Main Takeaway 🏹: Unputdownable

Synopsis 📜: After a one weekend stand where they don’t even exchange names, Charlotte and Callen can’t seem to forget about their time together in LA but have no way of finding the other. Callen got her to agree to exchange names but she disappears on him before that can happen. He thinks of her every day, rotating between missing the connection they shared and being angry that she ghosted him. When they randomly reunite in his small town, he will stop at nothing to make sure they follow his rules this time instead of hers.

Personal Thoughts 🤔: These two were a force to be reckoned with. They shared a connection that is difficult to imagine, even from an avid romance reader like myself. I loved their banter as well as her need for independence, much to Callen’s annoyance. He gives intense “don’t touch what’s mine” vibes and the entire town knows that she’s his girl, despite the fact that they spend a lot of time together just trying to make sure what they have is more than a great sexual connection. Charlotte has a threat from her past that comes back into the picture and despite being in the middle of a disagreement, Callen does everything he can to keep her safe and I love that for them. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book and would have finished it in one sitting if I didn’t have to be a productive member of society.

I really enjoyed this book, the storyline grabbed my attention and kept me interested from beginning to end. The characters were interesting and I was emotionally invested in their HEA.

Callen and Charlotte’s chance meeting led to a delicious weekend but they never exchanged names. Two years later and they have another chance meeting. But when Callen sees her again he is different. Charlotte has regrets but Callen is angry when he finds her in his family store.

I loved their chemistry, Callen has changed over the past two years and isn’t the man Charlotte remembers. They both have baggage they are trying to work through but both are drowning.

I loved how possessive Callen was when he saw other guys vying for Charlotte’s attention in his brother’s bar. None of his siblings know his history with Charlotte but are intrigued by his reaction to her.

The side characters were all great and I can’t wait to read more about Callen’s siblings. I especially loved his sister and the relationship that formed between her and Charlotte. She needed more good people in her life. Callen also deserved to have his family know what has been happening in his life. He has such a strong relationship with his siblings even if he did keep secrets.

I highly recommend reading this book and can’t wait for Angus’s book.

Book Review: Only Wanna Dance With You by: Lisa Shelby

This story was so stinking cute!!! Definitely a different kind of small town romance. Their “meet cute” is in a hotel in LA Callen the MC was stood up by his older rockstar brother at the bar… in walks a gorgeous woman and sparks fly. They decide to spend time together as she was also stood up by her client. They don’t exchange names but spend the weekend basically getting to know each other on a deep level. Then on the last day she’s gone without a word or anyway to make contact. Two years later they meet again in another sort of “meet cute” but he hasn’t gotten over her and she him. So with a bad ending to their great weekend they have to rebuild but can he get past her disappearing the way she did? I loved the pull of gravity Callen and Charlotte have there is such chemistry between these two if they can just be honest with each other! Plus there is added suspense and a thrilling, gripping event near the end that has you on the edge of your seat. I really loved this story! I can’t wait for the other books to come out to see how all the supporting characters end up in this small town!

Only Wanna Dance With You is the first book in the brand new Goose Hollow series. It's got a small town, a cowboy with a ranch, second chances from a one weekend stand and a little bit of spice to go with a touch of suspense. This is a new to me author and I definitely will be reading more of this series.

I sincerely Thank @theauthor.agency for my digital copy and I voluntarily give my honest review in return.

Callen and Charlotte met in Vegas at a bar after both were stood up, they decide to get a room with the agreement of no names and no strings. It was a weekend neither forgot.

2 years later Charlotte is in Goose Hollow staying at a friend/clients cabin when she decides to tour the charming town and runs into the man of her dreams, Chip, from Vegas, but he's not exactly warm and welcoming.

Callen sees her everywhere and can't help but being possessive, because he knew her first and puts out the vibe of "touch her and lose a limb" vibe. But Charlotte won't be a treated that way without clearing the air first.

Old feelings come swarming back quick for the both of them except there is someone from her past who doesn't want her to move on. Will Callen get that dance that he only wants with her?

This story was absolutely adorable! It departed from the usual small-town romance narrative in such a refreshing way. It all begins in California, where Callen and Charlotte meet by chance at a hotel bar and decide to indulge in a one-night fling, which unexpectedly extends into a weekend together. Without exchanging names, Charlotte disappears, leaving Callen yearning for more. Two years later, fate brings them back together in Callen's hometown. Still dealing with the past, Callen is anything but welcoming. However, Callen doesn't know that she's been yearning for him just as much.

I loved their banter and how their relationship progressed over time. Both knew what they wanted and were not going to settle. I loved Charlotte's independence and how she did not need a man but wanted one. Having Callen be her support throughout her journey was amazing and he will do anything to protect her. A walking green flag of man

One night can lead to forever

Two strangers in LA bar both stood up, so a couple of margaritas later, they ended up connecting so much more than in the sheets. Unfortunately, she was not ready to take a leap, so two years later, she took a clients cabin in Oregon to help with grieving her father, and she ran into the man she had the perfect night with. Cal did not get her name because that was a rule, and he honestly felt in love sonwhen his mystery woman shows up in his hardware store, he is a jerk and hurt. So Lisa writes fun books, but a lot of them are close door which for this book with it kick starting with a one night stand. I really needed some of the smex to see that connection. Once they got in the same vicinity, it was a little bit everywhere with the story line, and some of it felt like it was not something that was needed. Their miss communicaction was a turn-off. Good ending, so it wrapped it back up, but I found a lot of the time bot liking the couple or them based upon how they reacted to anything. This is a good kick-off to the series. im hoping Angus and Mia are next.

Callen and Charlotte have one weekend, no names exchanged, no complications. She lets him take control so she can forget. He wants her name, and she agrees but leaves before she gives him her name or number. Two years later, she arrives in his town. But she’s not there for him. And he’s more than a little annoyed by that.

Oh my, this love story is divine filled with passion, tenderness, the pain of loss and so much heart. I adored these characters, their stories, and their heartbreaks. They are open and vulnerable with each other, and that vulnerability is beautifully written. Each page oozes with it, drawing you into their worlds, their hearts and minds. So when events unfold, you understand why they act the way they do.

This small town, spicy, second chance romance will win your heart, as will the town of Goose Hollow. I look forward to reading more from these characters, and their love stories.

Thank you @lisashelbybooks and @theauthor.agency for the e-ARC of this sublime story. Callen and Charlotte have left an indelible impression upon my heart.

THIS 👏 IS 👏 IT 👏

Only Wanna Dance With You is such a sweet read where Callen and Charlotte (Charlie) meet and have the bestest of nights together, but then part ways even though they both feel that it’s so much more than a one night/weekend stand.

When they meet years later (Two years, four months, and twelve days to be exact because Callen counted them 😂) they both have not stopped thinking about each other.

Only where Charlotte is now in a better place of her life than she was the last time they met, Callen is holding grudges haha.

Luckily they find their way back to each other because their chemistry is undeniable, but before they get to their HEA there are some twists and turns. 😎

Tropes: Second Chance, Cinnamon Roll MMC, touch her and die vibes

Charlotte and Callen share a spicy weekend together, the two have chemistry, but Charlotte escapes before she can give Callen her name as she promised. Fast forward two years, and Charlotte is now staying in Callen's hometown, and time has not faded the chemistry between the two whatsoever. Callen is salty that she left so abruptly and Charlotte wonders what happened to the sweet man she fell for back in Los Angeles that one unforgettable weekend.

I enjoyed this read, this was a nice lowish angst romance, with plenty of spice and banter between the two MCs. Although both MCs fall hard, Callen is so earnest in his feelings for Charlotte, he fell so hard and wants her despite Charlotte's hesitation. This is a sweet small town romance with a bit of action and room for growth with the side characters.

This is a new to me author and I did enjoy this book. Only Wanna Dance With You is a small town, second chance romance. It is book one in the Goose Hollow series and is Callen and Charlotte's story. They meet in a bar in Vegas and were both stood up. They decide to get a room and have a no strings attached and agree to no names. Two years later, Charlotte is in his town staying there. They still don't know each other's names when she arrives and there is some miscommunication.

Another top-notch novel by the fantabulous and creative Lisa Shelby. I absolutely loved this story and the journey that both main characters walked and crawled to experience.

There were no names and an intense, passionate 48 hours between 2 individuals that were experiencing heavy baggage. These 48 hours turn out to be the hours in life that you crave on a daily basis.

Callen and Charlotte are some fierce and intense characters. They love deep, and they love hard! In this incredibly emotional and challenging situation, these two will fight tooth in nails against each other and for each other.

I enjoyed the banter and chemistry and the supporting characters. I also loved the reference of previous characters from other novels by this author.

Lisa! I don't know if I can ever replace the best book boyfriend again! Callen is such the ideal man and individual that every woman on earth deserves to feel and receive.

10 STARS if possible. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A one weekend fling turns into more 2 years later when Charlotte shows up in Callen’s hometown. The weekend they spent together they promised to keep names out of it. So when she comes to town, they still don’t know each others names. The miscommunication in this book was hard to read, but I absolutely fell in love with Callen from page 1.

If you love small town romance you need to visit Goose Hollow !!

This is a great start to the new series from Lisa Shelby and I’m excited to see what she has in store for the residents of Goose Hollow. This is a beautifully written second chance at love and it will appeal to a wide range of audiences.

This book had me hooked right from the very beginning. They had a one night stand 2 years before but never knew each other's name. Little did they know that 2 years later they'd run into each other. Callen hasn't forgotten what happened what happened. Though he's mad at Charlotte, it doesn't last long. Callen's the possessive cowboy who had fallen for Charlotte all those years before. Loads of spice and chemistry. I loved these two together. A hint of suspense, close proximity, and small town makes for a great story.

I simply loved Callen and Charlie’s story. Both characters complimented each other perfectly. They meet each other at a bar and spend the weekend together. Two years later, they meet again in his hometown.

Callen was not about to let her go a second time. He had the weight of the world on his shoulders but he felt like he had good reasons for it. Charlie sees this weight and does her best to help him carry it.

Charlie recently suffered a loss which Callen could identify with. We also learn that she has some personal trauma she’s recovering from. It takes her a while to fully open up to him and it’s beautiful when she does. This book also had some funny banter between them. We also get hints of possible future stories with Callen’s siblings. Overall this was a heartwarming book and I cannot wait for the next one!

Ok.. so this book got me hooked since the very beginning. I read it from one sitting, their relationship amazing, i was a little skeptical about the second chances aspect pf the book, but let me tell you it was so well written you are cheering them on. They have both have really hardships on their backs and a sordid story separately that makes them being together amazing. They deserve each other. I love how we can remember that it’s important that when the timing is perfect everything makes sense and when you are not ready even the most perfect person cant put you back together. This is definitely a series ill keep my eye on! Want to read all the books that come out of this series. Their Story is Hot Hot Hot, get me a Callen Now! :)
