Winter Crest was the last place Promise wanted to spend her Christmas. Being labeled as the rebel child, spending her not-so-favorite holiday with her parents is unavoidable since Promise is the Maid of Honor to her sister, Truth. After an eventful day, she accidentally slips and the man that catches her, could be the man that is everything Promise never knew she needed. However, with every good man, bad sure does come along with it. Between Promise’s overbearing parents and an ex lurking in the background, will she be able to protect her good or sadly lose it to the bad?
Hendrix wasn’t the typical hood nigga that everyone was used to. He was street smart and book smart. With his business partner deciding to step down, Hendrix is busy around Winter Crest, preparing for everything on top of opening up a new business in order to honor his mom. He knew he would have his hands full with everything work-related, but never expected a woman of Promise's caliber to fall into his arms, literally. Will Hendrix hold on to his Promise or will he allow naysayers to ruin the best thing that ever happened to him?
Join Promise and Hendrix this Christmas while they navigate through the good and the bad, discovering all the holiday cheer that Winter Crest has to offer.

I liked this one! Promise was so clumsy but that was the perfect first encounter for the characters. It was an easy read, good length, holiday cheer, and I wouldn’t mind more of these characters.
Hendrix and Promise are my new favorite characters! The way they met was hilarious and I loved the way their relationship quickly blossomed. It was very playful and lighthearted. One part had me on edge but it definitely ended the way that it should have. I would love to get more from these 2 characters!
Even as a grown woman. Promise still felt like she had to be rebellious towards her parents. Especially her nosey, overbearing, judgmental mother Passion. Passion was a mother that tried to run her daughter's Promise and Truth life. Truth fell in line by be willing to marrying a man who her parents felt fit their image. Truth was meek and docile whereas Promise had her own mind, did whatever made her Happy, and was very vocal. Promise didn't live her life based on her parents views. I love Promise and Truth sister bond. No matter how intrusive their mother was it didn't break their bond. Promise being in Winter Crest for her sister Truth wedding wasn't really where she wanted to be but being there for her sister was a must. It also lead her into slipping and falling for Hendrix. Hendrix return to Winter Crest to fulfill his obligation to continue the memory of his mother and other business. Falling for Promise wasn't on the agenda but it happened. Hendrix got to see the real side of Promise as well as see why Promise relationship with her parents were complicated. Passion overstepped her boundaries by inviting Promise ex Colin to Truth wedding which lead Promise into snapping on her mother by telling her mother the truth about why they broke up. That incident also had Hendrix feeling inadequate. In the end. Both Hendrix and Promise realized that as long as they're happy. No one and nothing else matter.
Hendrix is in town for his traditional celebration of Christmas in honor of his mother in addition to taking care of some business deals. Promise is here to attend her sister's wedding that she isn't so happy about. The two meet by chance when he saved her from falling in the icy mall parking lot. She couldn't seem to get him out her mind after that. He happened to run into her again at Club Luxe and decided to approach her. The two instantly connect and decide to spend more time together while they are both in Winter Crest. Promise starts to catch feelings for Hendrix but is determined that a long distance relationship wouldn't work. She had a bad experience in her last relationship and is unwilling to try it again. Hendrix shocked himself at how fast he is falling for Promise. He is determined to change her mind about a long distance relationship.
Promise wasn't going to fit in a box that her parents were trying to put her in. Hendrix is book smart and street smart. He has his hands in all kinds of businesses. He should thank Fatz for getting him out of his office. He went after what he wanted that was Promise. He also.wanted to keep his word to Ma 'Dear.Promise has a degree of her heart wasn't in it. Truth was her mama's carbon copy..Promise and Hendrix was together without being together. How is her parents are going try to judge Hendrix without knowing him? After Promise told her mama the real reason why her and Colin broke up, she really trying to be sympathetic. Their mama was really out there, try to to project her situation from her past on her and Hendrix isn't the person who was trying to do her mama dirty. Now she really loves Christmas and Hendrix
Hendrix had came along way and was trying to do something great to honor his mother. Promise was the rebel who refused to let her parents control her but was keeping a big hurtful secret from everyone. Her parents would’ve drive me up the wall frfr and Truth was to gullible and naive when it came to her parents bs. But at least she had her sister back. Promise and Hendrix meeting by chance and then again in the club was fate. I loved how they clicked. In the end I’m glad Hendrix didn’t want to hide his feelings anymore and Promise read her parents to filth. Great read !
This Christmas standalone is lit. My girl ex is a butt whole. Why would you make her kill the baby cause she didn't wanna go with u. Then her mom is being so selfish and calls her ex. She didn't want her to be worth him from the start, so why now cause she doesn't like Hendrix. I'm glad my babies are together at the end. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
Promise mother sure knows how to work her daughters nerves, it's bad enough that she had Truth under control but with Promise she just couldn't stand it that Promise did as she wanted and loved whom she wanted. What started out as just kicking it together for the short time they were visiting Winter Crest to falling in love willing to take A chance on love and happiness. Great love story.
Promise was in town for her sister's wedding when she almost fell in the mall parking lot and Hendrix saved her. She was smitten with the handsome stranger. When she ran into him again at his club she was awestruck. They started spending time together and their feelings grew . Would Promise take a chance on a relationship with Hendrix?
Winter Crest every book or collection I've read amazing the men alpha male BDE and women have good jobs or career.. Been hurt but not looking for love but it creeps up on them same with the men ...But can't fight there feelings for each other..
Unique I Always Love Your Stories! This story was pretty awesome from beginning to end, with the best bantering throughout the story. The message was clear from beginning to end. Always stay true to self and always be your best not anyone else's, even if it's your parents with the issue. Great love story read ever. ReneeG.
I loved Hendrix and Promise from the way they met to their playful banter. They were so cute together. I loved how Promise but her parents in their place and how she lives her life on her terms. I wanted an epilogue to see where the two of them ended up.
This was a great read! I got this book in the BRAE 25 event and I am pissed that I didn’t know about this author before. I have to find more I enjoyed her method of storytelling. There weren’t a bunch of gaps the left we wondering wtf did I miss.
Winter Crest Winter Series I am coming for all 14 of you!!
I loved this well written Winter Crest story. The characters are both likeable and interesting. With a good storyline that has a little drama, family dysfunction, and new love. Promise and Hendrix are definitely characters that I would love to read more about.
Aww!! Now this was so cute and this needs a spinoff. Promise was about that life and I loved that about her. Hendrix started from the bottom, now look at him. Good job Unique.
I really loved the book, but I definitely wanted to slap Promise and Truth mom, like girl mind your damn business. I really loved Hendrix for Promise and how he changed her mind about Christmas.
I really enjoyed this storyline. She was her own woman and was living the life she wanted instead of what her parents set out for her. Truth and Promise had a good sisterhood. In come Hendrix. It was fun, sizzling, and entertaining watching them fall💜
I like the way that Hendrix and Promise met unexpectedly both times and how they both did what they wanted to do unapologetically. I hope we get another book about them soon like a Winter Crest Valentine’s Day book.
Whew! I LOVE when people do what they want to do with their lives! Forget how others feel about what YOU want! I loved this real bad and I loved them even more! 5 stars ofcourse my dear. Happy New Year!
I loved everything about this book. Hendrix was really that dude. I believe in love at first sight and I think that’s exactly what they experienced. I’m glad they didn’t let anything come in between that.
Promise was a woman determined to play by her own rules. Hendrix was a man determined to make his late mother proud and have a better life. These two came together and made a beautiful situation work for them. This was a good and quick read.
Hendrix met Promise and they both fell fast and hard! They didn't let what her parents attitudes affect their feelings. They had a few hiccups, but got over them, and decided to move forward with their happiness. Awesome read!
I love it when I come across a gem in the spring time! I have read these all out of order but after reading Dutch story, I had to run it back with Big Drix lol I love Promise and Hendrix story! I can’t want to get the full version of their continued love story
