Amber Jakeman is once again giving us a fantastic series. The story follows Nola as a young girl who has chosen to stay home in Burradeer Bay to take care of her father and tend to the general store while her sister goes off to University to become a nurse and find a husband. Nola does find love with a fisherman who she meets on the shore every night and they can';t wait until the day they can sail off together and start their forever life. Sadly that does not happen and Nola spends her whole life waiting for Kento. Her niece Bronte tries to push Nola out into the world but it is not received very well. I loved the depth of the characters, the description of the events and sharing Nola's life and rooting for her to find happiness. This is a must read but be prepared to stay up late and not get all the chores done because it is impossible to put Midnight Beach down.
