Max's Vanlife Adventure Stutters to a Stop When a Trip to the Vets Turns into a Nightmare! Anxious the Jack Russell Terrier has a poorly paw. Burned-out chef and vanlife convert Max Effort will do anything for his best friend, even if that means a visit to the vets and the inevitable whining. Stopping in Harlech on the Welsh coast means they can get the little guy sorted out and take in the sights, too, even if Anxious is less than keen on visiting THE DOCTOR!
With the 67 VW complaining louder than Anxious, they barely make it, and it seems this might be it for the old campervan. Time for repairs later. Friends before mends.
Five minutes into their consultation, the waiting room is filled with gas and there's been a murder. Pet owners are distraught because not only has everyone been clobbered, but someone's stolen half the animals from right under their noses.
After teaming up with the young receptionist, Max slowly begins to unravel his most mysterious case yet, while Anxious hobbles along, refusing to be left out. But they aren't alone, as no way will Min, Max's ex-wife and other best friend, stay away when there's trouble afoot.
As rivalries surface, and bodies drop like overcooked scones, Max does what he can to help the local community. With little time for one-pot wonders, he still manages to cook up a storm, but will his eye for detail and deep-seated desire to help be enough this time, or is he finally out of his depth?
Contains a stunning one-pot recipe at the end. Perfect for those on the road, or anyone who wants a great meal without all the washing up!
A journey of freedom, friendship, and murder mystery on the open road.
Fun and Entertaining 4th Installment in Series Max and Anxious arrive in Wales and end up in the middle of an investigation involving the local veterinary practice. This book was great fun to read and I enjoyed following along as Max looked for clues and Anxious looked for biscuits! There were plenty of suspects and secrets to be revealed, and of course Min couldn't resist making an appearance. I love the relationship between Max and Min and am rooting for them to find their way. I look forward to reading more in this series, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great cozy mystery. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Outing four for Max and Anxious and I enjoyed it as much as the previous three. Anxious has injured his paw and needs to visit the v-e-t while they're in with the 'doctor' there's a bang, shouting and screaming coming from the reception, when they go to investigate there's lots of smoke, missing pets, and a dead body on the floor!! The police come to investigate but they don't appear as much as they do in previous books, this one is more Max investigating. A quick read, a fun story and a great series.
Another cracking adventure for Max, and adorable Anxious the dog. This time the pair are embroiled in a nasty and baffling murder in the wilds of Wales. Pleased to see there will be another book in the series coming.
A very easy read and a continuation of Max’s travels in his faithful campervan. I enjoyed the book but felt the denouement was a bit unlikely. However, overall I’m enjoying the series and look forward to reading the next one.
Another murder mystery to solve as dead bodies just seem to follow Max no matter where him and Anxious travel in their campervan Vee. This is such a fun, enjoyable, quirky and intriguing collection of murder mysteries as Max seems to have the knack of finding himself in the middle of a quirky murder and he solves each mystery with his sixth sense and attention to details. Tyler Rhodes brings together not only a great character in Max, but the relationship with his adorable side kick Anxious, Min and the cast of characters make just as much entertainment as the places Max visits and the whodunnit murder that has you guessing till the very end. Each book had me engrossed and a page turner to see what happened next, laugh out loud with some of the banter, comical situations at time and added bonus of another one pot wonder recipe from ex-chef Max. A truly feel good, light hearted, fun, enjoyable and intriguing series of books.
