This is a short novel that for the summer is more than fine and not only because it's set in the summer but because it brings us the story of Reece and Isaac, they were school sweethearts,and they separated when she leaves the town to follow her dreams (well there is something deeper in all that decision, read it because I will not give you spoiler) then she return one summer for the anniversary party of her parents and all the feelings that had between them remain the same as the first time, did I like this second chance? if you read my reviews you know that I have a love/hate with that trope and here I had a good time reading it, to be short I didn't mind the rhythm of the story because I already knew more or less what I was going to find but yes, I didn't expect it to be so hot (if you know what I mean). To pass time is more than ok, I say it again that although the pace of the story is fast because it is a short novel for this summer, I feel that everything was resolved in a very fast way and I would have to read the book before this (Reece's twin brother) to see if I did not miss anything but in short it was a fast and fun read.

Este es una pequeña novela que para el verano está más que bien y no solo porque está ambientada en el verano si no porque nos trae la historia de Reece e Isaac, ellos eran amores de colegio, y se separaron cuando ella se va del pueblo a seguir sus sueños (a ver que hay algo más profundo en toda esa decisión, léanlo que no les voy a dar spoiler) luego vuelve un verano para la fiesta de aniversario de sus padres y todos los sentimientos que los tenían siguen iguales a la primera vez, ¿me gusto este second chance? a ver que si me leen saben que yo tengo un amor/odio con ese trope y aquí la pase bien leyéndolo, para ser corto no me importo el ritmo de la historia porque ya sabia mas o menos lo que me iba a encontrar pero eso sí, no espere que fuera tan candente (si saben a lo que me refiero). Para pasar el rato está más que bien, vuelvo a decir que aunque el ritmo de la historia es rápido debido a que es una novela corta para este verano, siento que todo se resolvió de una manera muy rápida y tendría que leer el libro anterior a este (hermano gemelo de Reece) para ver si no me perdi de nada; en resumen fue una lectura rápida y divertida.

Book review

I loved this brothers best friend, second chance, small town romance. I loved it more because of the main characters' attraction that was still there, just waiting for them to be reunited. They were so cute, and lol, i just enjoyed how much they couldn't keep their hands to themselves. Some of the other mentioned side characters were also great. It's definitely a fun, quick, and light-hearted summer read.

I adored this so much. Summer with a brothers best friend is part of a 20 book series perfect for the summer. They can be read in any order.

Issac and Reece have the best chemistry and their relationship was wonderful. Even though this is short it doesn’t feel like we lost any details or important information.

Their dynamic was perfect and I loved seeing the relationship between Reece and her brother grow as well. This is a quick and perfect read for summer!

I can’t wait to continue on with this series!

Great Summer Novella

Brother’s Best Friend is my favorite romance trope. Alexandra Hale did such a good job with this story wrapping up a heartfelt second chance story in a small little package. There’s tension and banter, a grumpy brother, a little bit of finding yourself while learning to trust others. I loved seeing Reece find her home in this story, and Isaac letting her be herself and loving her through it.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Isaac and Reece have known each other for a while, he's her twin brother Maddox's Summer with a Fireman best friend. When they were graduating from high school everyone had Reece's life planned out for her, she was to go into nursing school just like her mother. That's not what Reece wanted to do, so she applied for teaching school and was accepted. Reece left Love Beach, her and Isaac broke up, she didn't know if she was coming back. Reece and Issac agreed to never date again for Maddox, he couldn't take them being torn apart. Issac wanted to open his own bar in Love Beach and he did, he stay with his best friend Maddox, Reece's twin brother. When Reece comes back to Love Beach to plan her parents anniversary party, Maddox asks Isaac if he'll give her a job for the summer. When Reece comes home for the summer she brings her best friend Vienna Merry with a Brewmaster: The Love Beach Holiday Collection, they both have jobs at Isaac's bar. Reece and Isaac can't stop the connection they have to one another, so they start to sneak around behind everyone's backs. While Reece is working at the bar she is also planning her parents anniversary party but she's not getting any help from her brother Maddox. While Isaac and Reece head to her house she shares with Vienna, he pleasures her then they make love. When they wake the following morning Maddox is at the door, Reece tells Isaac to hide but he tells her he's not doing that. Reece gets rid of her brother as quickly as possible, Isaac starts to send her dirty text messages. When Isaac mets Maddox for a drink he wants to know how Reece and Vienna are working out at the bar. Isaac confesses he lost a bet to them and now he needs to take them both to the bookstore and buy books for them. While Reece gets overwhelmed over the planning of her parents anniversary party her best friend Vienna helps since her brother is always working. Reece's parents tell her she has an interview at the school so that she came come home and teach. It takes Reece a few days to schedule the interview. When Reece finally goes for her interview the superintendent tells her that if she worried her parents got her the job she doesn't need to. Reece is told she has great accomplishment at her other school and they would be happy to have her. Isaac wants to be with Reece so he decides he wants to move where she is, so he contact his realtor and is willing to buy another bar. When Reece goes to the bar she sees the realtor leaving and asks Isaac who that was. When Isaac tells her Reece tells him she's going to stay in Love Beach she accepted the job at the school. While Reece is setting up for her parents anniversary party Isaac almost lets it slip, but he can tell that she's stressed. Reece's brother walks in on them when they are kissing. Reece and Isaac follow Maddox as he storms out. Reece tries to tell her brother that it was hard growing up having to follow in his footsteps. Reece tells Maddox she needed the space, she needed to go where she could be herself, and not disappoint their parents. Soon Reece and Maddox's parents arrive and everyone heads inside. When Reece's parents make an announcement she and her brother are called up. When Reece's brother Maddox takes the mic he gives her the love she deserves. Finally Reece's mother acknowledges her. After the party Isaac takes Reece home where he pleasures her and they make love. Isaac and Reece talk about getting married but neither of them want a big wedding. Reece finds out that Isaac has already been planning their wedding, they both agree this has been the best summer ever. The last day of the summer, Isaac and Reese are waiting for everyone to arrive on the beach. Reece is in a white dress waiting on her two best friends, Vienna and Marigold. When Vienna arrives she is going to officiate the wedding. Maddox and Marigold arrive and are asked to be maid of honor and best man. Isaac's parents are cross country trip and can't make it back. Then Reece's parents arrive and she asks them if they'll both walk her down the aisle. As Reece walks down the aisle Isaac can see her unshed tears. Isaac never thought he'd get here, but this is perfect it's everything he ever wanted.

OMG! I need a lie down …. I thought the last book was HOT 🥵 Well hold onto your hat because this one by Alexandra Hale has some seriously hot n sexy scenes and the younger twin is one lucky lady… Reece has recently moved back to Love Beach with her friend Violet and her brother Maddox asks his friend Isaac to sort them out with jobs at his bar… straight forward? Of course it isn’t , why? Because … Seven years ago , she had her brother and her boyfriend with her and she was so happy until her plans deviated from their original schedule, she didn’t want to follow a path predestined by her mother’s profession so she sent her brother and his best friend packing , losing her lover but she didn’t want him to have to choose between them and thought Maddox at least deserved his friend by his side. So both moved back to Love Beach but Reece didn’t , she had other plans, she didn’t want to follow in her mom’s footsteps as her brother had their father’s. Nursing wasn’t for her but in Teaching she found her calling . She was a somebody and not a disappointment but now she’s back for the summer at least…it’s their parents big anniversary and she won’t miss celebrating and organising the party for them no matter how strained things are with her mother about the teaching thing as she calls it still…. Isaac thinks it’s going to be a long hot summer trying to keep his hands off Maddox’s sister…. Shame she has other plans and he’s going down…..hmmm delish! Very Spicy and so well described ! Excellent writing , immersive storytelling and super characters that sprung to life with the excellent prose. Thank-you Alexandra it was pure pleasure reading this awesome romance.

What a Sweet Read!

I really enjoyed reading Reece and Isaac's story. Would recommend reading Summer with a Fireman by Carolina Jax first as the stories are intertwined.

Reece and Isaac were High School and College Sweethearts. Maddox, who is a twin with Reece was also best friends with Isaac. Maddox laid down a rule when they broke up that they were to promise never to get back together again as it hurt everyone too much when they broke up.

That Rule was fine the last few years as Reece had been living away but now that she was back in Love Beach for the Summer there was an Instant attraction between the two of them again and the Old Flame was re-lit.

Reece had suffered a hard time for years in competing with her twin and always getting a back lash from their Mom with the fact that she didn't follow in her foot steps and become a Nurse but chose to be a Teacher instead. That was part of the reason for her staying away all the years except for flying visits.

This time around, she ended up working in Isaac's bar for the Summer and it was just to hard for them to resist the pull they both had to each other all over again.

Won't say anymore as it is just a lovely book to read. Has all the Hotness you expect in an Alexandra Hale book and will give you all the feels.

Is funny in parts as well, especially when it comes to Vienna, Reece's College friend who came back with her for the Summer.

OMG this is just the best novella to heat up your winter, if you are down under like me. It is best read either before or after Carolina Jax's Summer with a Fireman, as the books are interlinked with the FMC in Alexandra's book and the MMC in Carolina's book being twins.

Reece Baylor has always been in love with Issac. However Issac is not only her first love, but is Maddox's, Reece's twin brother, best friend. Reece has come back for the summer, and finds herself working for Issac, in his bar. Of course, they both made a promise to Maddox that they would not get involved with each other again. There was alot of sacrifice all around, but you can't extinguish those feelings, no matter how hard you try.

Issac is an amazing friend to Maddox, but he also loves Reece, and despite those seven years apart, it is clear that those feelings have never changed.

The spice between Reece and Issac is so so good, and I am honestly glad it is winter here because I would seriously have burst into flames if I had read this during summer. This is my first book I have read of Alexandra's, and I friggen loved it. It works so beautifully alongside Carolina's, and however it is read, helps us see those relationships from all sides and persons concerned. I highly recommend. Loved it.

Ms. Hale is a new author to me and I was thrilled for the opportunity to read Summer with a Brother's Best Friend. I was intrigued by Reese and Isaac's story in Summer with a Fireman and needed to get my hands on their book. Their story is full of great banter, heartfelt times and love that stood time, This book is a second-chance romance that happens to be my favourite trope add in the idea of Isaac being her brother's best friend and you have a novella that is addictive and impossible to put down.
The small town of Love Beach was not enough for Reese. She needed to get away from her family and live her life. The only problem was that her leaving broke a few hearts including the man who she loved, Isaac. Seven years later she's home for the summer and things start to heat up. Isaac offers her a summer job while she visits but is it the best idea? They can't keep their hands off one another and one thing leads to another and hearts start beating faster and feelings get stronger. They want to be more but there is an end date. Can Reese be convinced to stay?
Summer with a Brother's Best Friend is a fantastic summer beach read however you could read it at any time of the year.

They still clearly love each other, but what happens when summer is over? What will her brother say? I absolutely loved this couple! Their chemistry was so hot that I thought my Kindle might melt. Reece and Isaac dated in high school but then broke up so Reece could go to college and find herself. She always felt like she was always walking in her twin brothers shadow. When she left town not only did she break Isaacs heart she broke her brothers too.
When she came home after seven years away, she got a job working for Isaac. Even for being gone seven years she never stopped loving him.
Isaac felt the same way. When she walked into the bar it was like time stood still. He thought she was just as beautiful as she was all those years ago.
They picked up right where they left off and the only thing is they had to sneak around, since she was only going to be home for the summer.
Isaac was not going to let her leave by herself he would sell his bar and go with her. Reece had an interview with the local high school because she wanted to stay with Isaac. Build a life with him. Once they talked it over, everything fell into place and soon after her parents anniversary party the decided to have a small ceremony on the beach.

This book is meant to be read after Summer With A Fireman as it features many of the same characters, but the focus is on Reece and Isaac’s story. This is a quick, sexy and hot read. Isaac and Reece were sweethearts and lovers as teenagers, but her dreams took her another direction, away from her twin, her family and most importantly him. It has been years since she has been home, since they made her twin and his best friend a promise that they wouldn’t even try to rekindle their feelings for each other. What her brother doesn’t know is those feelings don’t need to be rekindled….they never died. Now that Reece is back in town, ostensibly for the summer, and working in Isaac’s bar, they can’t keep their hands off each other. (Cue the passion, heat and combustion). Their promise looms over them, as does her need to follow her own dream and not her family’s plans for her. Isaac faces losing her again, or will he make a different choice this time around?

I would recommend this short and very sexy book.

This is a short novella length read in a series by different authors, all about Love Beach. small town USA.
Reece and Isaac's story is a forbidden, workplace, brother's best friend, second chance, small town romance. Guaranteed HEA. This story was light, easy to read, not real angsty. A good beach read. No tears, no gasps. I love the way the author used the town to draw you in to the secondary characters, making sure to keep you invested in Love Beach, especially the upcoming flower shop ;)
Reece and Isaac were an item in high school and now that she's back in town Isaac offers her and her bestie summer jobs. You know where it's going, LOL. You're reading a romance novella !!
There were a few steamy scenes, the writing was easy to read and enjoyable. While it feels abrupt, missing all that angsty goodness, it's just the nature of the beast. Novella's aren't known for their great characterization and development of story. They are meant to enterain, and this one did just that. It was perfect for a LOVEly BEACH day.

This novella is a super quick sweet and steamy read which is one of 20 books that are part of the Love Beach Collection. Love Beach is a small beach town in South Carolina.

This is about two people who aren’t together but who have a huge history and really belong together. For Isaac and Reece they get a chance at a second chance that’s so much more than just a fling. There are family dramas, friendships, and making amends. There is a lot of spicy scenes but they really add to the story of these two who had to part ways to grow and come back together.

And swooning lines in this book like this one I mean he is such a great book boyfriend material! Kinda want to see a chapter of them a few years from now!!!

The chemistry between Reece and Isaac in Summer With a Brother’s Best Friend by Alexandra Hale is sizzling like the hottest of summer nights. This book is part of the Love Beach Collection and each book can be read in any order.

Reece and Isaac have been in love since they were teens but Reece moved away for college and her twin brother and Isaac’s best friend forbid them to continue any sort of relationship. Several years later, Reese is home for the summer to celebrate her parents anniversary and it seems that she and Isaac can’t deny their attraction or feelings no matter what anyone says.

The two MCs have such strong undeniable attraction, they have fun together and they just can’t get enough of each other. I love the side characters in this one. I thought the story was good and it wrapped up sweetly in the end. I recommend for a second chance romance, brother’s best friend with a HEA.

Have you ever wanted a second chance so badly it all you can think about? Issac & Reece were high school sweethearts, he was best friends with her twin Maddox. After a life lived in the shadow of her brother & disappointment from her mother, for not becoming a nurse. Reece decides to not come home after college. Ending her relationship with Isaac & promising her brother, that there wouldn’t be a second chance.
Now she’s home in Love Beach for the summer. Working at Isaac’s bar & stirring up old feelings. Isaac has never stopped loving her, but the promise made to Mads as teens, still hold both in its grip. Can he convince her that coming back to Love Beach for good is what will make both of them happy, or will she return to her life in NC?
This story was heartfelt, wind swept & the banter between all characters was wonderful. Add in the sexy bits & this book was a great read! Enjoy!

This book was such a fun cozy read and perfect for the beach, I know I'll definitely be rereading this on my next trip there!

This was the perfect follow up to Summer with a Fireman by Carolina Jax, as these were interconnected books that fit together so seamlessly you would think it was the next book in a series! It was also an amazing reading experience as I already knew of some key events that would happen and how it played out, but to see them from a different perspective made it feel new.

I adored the love story of Isaac and Reece, to see them get their second chance and jump right back in to their spicy love was perfection. Despite their relationship being kept a secret from Reece’s brother Maddox, you could really feel the love they shared for each other and weren’t afraid to let each other know it.

Summer With A Brother's Best Friend is part of the multi author series Love Beach.

Isaac is Reece's brother's best friend and with this story they get a second chance at working on their love for each other. Years before they were together, but Reece was going on a different path and didn't want to force Isaac to choose between her and her brother. Now they are reunited and the sparks are still there. But Reece is planning on only being around for the summer, as she can't be around her intolerable mother (boy was she annoying).

I liked watching these two rekindle their romance. Especially when we see how much Isaac regrets their time apart and is not willing to let that happen again. He knows he wants Reece for the rest of his life and will ensure this happens. I really liked these two together. They had a lot of chemistry and those scenes were spicy.

Reece and Isaac have undeniable chemistry and the heat level is perfect! Their story isn’t just a brother’s best friend romance. We also get to watch these two get a second chance they weren’t expecting. Readers also get little mention of some other loved Alexandra Hale characters.

Novellas can leave you with questions and holes in the story but Alexandra wrote this one perfectly. You get an understanding of each character, their background story, and them as a couple. Reece and Isaac’s story isn’t rushed and if you’re left wanting more it’s purely due to the wonderful mind of Alexandra. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

I love Reece and Isaac together. Their second chance at love was just what I was looking for and needed after reading Summer with A Fireman. The little snippets from Maddox and Marigold...AKA Goldie, was a fun mixture of laughs and angst. The dual POV made it fresh for a small novella and I enjoyed it immensely. IF you are looking for a fun easy, fast paced, read with a bit of spice, this is your series of stories.

This was super quick read and I liked how easy it was.
Reece has come back to her small town after 7 years to plan her parents anniversary party. She may have left the small town but her heart stayed behind.
She, her twin brother Maddox and Isaac were best friends. Isaac and Reece dated when they were teens but had to leave him behind to find her own identity.
Isaac wasn't ready for her because he never stopped loving her.
Both struggle to keep hands off and agree to a summer fling, even though it will hurt them.
But her brother can't find out. Can they keep it a secret? Can Isaac convince her to stay?
There was some spice but it was a bit disappointing as it starts Spicy then chapter just ends and we don't really get much apart from the starter.
Overall it is fun, flirty and great read.

Thoughts: As soon as I saw brother's best friend, I was sold. I love the fact that this was a novella to just get a quick HEA that gave me all the smiles. However, I do wish it was just a little longer because I wanted more from Isaac and Reece. I loved their story and the way they found their way back to each other. It was so great to see Reece stand up for the decision she made to become a teacher and not let anyone in her family change her mind. Finally, I was blown away that Vienna, Reeces' friend, is Montana's (Feels like Falling) sister, since I didn't make the connection at first.

This was a great novella for the summer time. Fun, flirty, spicy, and fast paced! I read it in an afternoon, and like all the characters from this collection a lot.

This is Reece and Issac’s story, bringing them a second chance at love that they deserved so much. Seven years ago, their relationship ended and it broke both their hearts-but it needed to happen in end. Neither got over the other or their love they shared.
Reece returns home for summer, with no plans on staying, but she and Isaac just couldn’t keep apart. All the chemistry and love was still there-convincing themselves it was only a summer fling. But, it was about time Isaac fought for the love of his life.

Even though this was a quick and shorter read, it was jam packed with great spice and plot! I enjoyed watching their love story play out and seeing them both realize they could have everything they ever wanted-together.
