Scornedverse #2

Knot Again

Rate this book
Growing up, all I wanted was a family. Now all I need is a pack.

Being the heir of the Verdune family legacy is a blessing. The responsibility that comes with it, not so much. Add in the fact I’m an Omega, and some days I wish I was born into a different life.

Meeting my scent-matched Alpha, should be a night of celebration but instead it becomes an event marred by tragedy and a stark reminder of how controlling Alphas can be.

I’m told to find a pack. Or they’ll find one for me.

A pack of delicious smelling Alphas swoop in to save me. Okay, they actually win me at an auction but either way they insist we’re fated to be together. They promise we'll be living our own sweet fairytale.

The thing about fairytales… they’re usually stories of false hope, crushed dreams, and ruined happily-ever-afters. Complete BS really.

But those Alphas are real life princes, and they believe in whimsical destiny and everlasting happiness. They’re also ruthless, borderline obsessed and won’t take no for an answer.

I’m just not sure I can trust them. Knot again.

Knot Again is book two in a series of standalones that should be read in order. Each book follows an Omega wronged by an Alpha, or a few, in her life, and an HEA is guaranteed

DNF

i really liked Lucy Scott Bryan’s other books … but i really struggled to read this one … then i just gave up as i just couldn’t find anything likeable or interesting about the FMC … she was just meh (sorry) … plus the writing style seemed disjointed without the usual flow or humour her other books have …. i’m sure there will be loads of readers who will love it … just not me

I should start off by mentioning I haven't read the first book in the Scornedverse. That being said Knot Again features a totally different omega and pack. The series is connected through a group of girlfriends and while it does contain spoilers for the first book Knot Again is its own thing. I don't even mind the spoilers and this book was such a great read I plan on going back to read the first.

Heidi is intelligent and fierce, she has to put up with all the antagonizing BS from know-it-all alphas. Good thing she has an incredible girl gang that has her back. They're her family and they look out for their own.

The Pack. Three brothers, Ramses, Kai, and Dare, are all alphas but are the best alphas, their momma did good. The weight on Rams was obvious and kinda hurt my heart especially because of his sensitivity. Dare has a wicked streak a mile long which at times irrated me. Then there's Kai, the youngest who is open and free and has charm for days. He's my favorite. The guys make a few epically bad decisions and there was some groveling to be done but overall they were pretty great

Just when I think I've seen everything that could happen in an omegaverse, I get something new. Lucy has thrown in a small but significant twist to the story and the subject of that twist wasn't typical for omegaverses. That in itself made the story more interesting. Not to mention all the actual twists and turns along with not knowing who to trust, the constant barrage of issues, and oppressive alphas added to the level of intrigue. One of my favorite parts was at the end. It was like watching (don't laugh, you know you love them) one of those Hallmark Mystery Movies, Heidi piecing the clues together to figure out what happened was the best.

Lucy is a new author for me, I am extremely impressed by Knot Again it was awesome. The last two chapters kind of read like epilogues and while they gave me the happy ending they left just enough open for things to carry on into the next book and I'll be picking that one up for sure.

SOMETIMES IT TAKES LOSING WHAT YOU’RE SETTLING FOR TO REMIND YOU OF WHAT YOU TRULY DESERVE.

Another heartbreaking and uplifting OV from LSB. This baby is THICC, filled with plot twists, betrayals and redemptions, and a trio of hot AF triplets. My emotions were put through their paces here with super highs and deep lows, heartbreaks and redemptions.

Heidi Ho is the second Scorned Girl to earn her HEA. Her story is one of betrayals stacked on betrayals. She’s been gaslighted and discredited to the point she loses her confidence. But she rises from the ashes and takes control of her life. Grabbing the reins of her parents’ company with a big F-U to those who had sought to squash her.

Identical triplets in the pack? Yes, please! While they may be identical in appearance, LSB gave each one a different flavor: the gruff protector Ramses, the snarky hothead Darius, and the golden retriever Kairo. They are all-in for Heidi, even if they stumble along the way to their HEA.

This book is fast-burn and spicy with all the goodness of OVs (scent matching, nesting, heats, slick, knots, and hot group scenes).

Knot Again is a standalone in the interconnected Scornedverse universe. While it may be read independently, I highly recommend reading Knot Letting You Go first.

Genre: Contemporary Omegaverse Romance
Tropes/Features: Dark elements, secrets and betrayal, second chances, scent matching, hurt/comfort, scorned FMC, identical triplets, vigilantes, supportive “sisterhood”, group scenes, triplet sandwich
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Why Choose, fast burn, spicy
Book Type/Ending: Interconnected standalone with HEA, recommend reading in published order
TW/CW: Available in book

Not very inpressed
Too much f*cking in this book🙄 Smut is good but when it takes almost half of the book and makes the story stall...just no!
I didn't really understand how and why she forgave the guys, no enough groveling that was sure. I felt that too much was happening in this book and at some point it was a bit messy, between 20 pages of f*cking...
Had potential though...

Sorry to say but I dnf'ed about 50% in.

The writing was really odd - rather disjointed plus from time jump perspective - sometimes it would be chapters for a a day, sometimes the full day was over in 3 seconds, certain scenarios weren't explained (not sure if some of it was intentional and overlayed with the first book) and I was left confused.. it's like if some things didn't make it onto the page.

Also, I didn't particularly like the main character and ...the girl friendship, especially the way it was portrayed here was really really cringe... Like does anyone actually interact like that with their friends?

Ayden was a also really cartoonish evil ex.

And also I didn't vibe with Hs..

It still had something wanting me to give this a chance, but I gave up in the end..

Knot Again is book 2 in the Scornedverse series and it follows Heidi (FMC), Raney's friend (from book 1) who pops up briefly here. Heidi certainly gets dragged through the wringer in the course of this book. Being the heir of a major company meant the knives were all out for her by so many people including those two faced ones that were particularly underhand here. A bittersweet, second chance RH story with a smart, underestimated Omega and a group of Alphas that were sweet and fiercely protective. I loved it. This series just keeps getting better.

I tried to force myself to keep reading this, but had to DNF at 25%. The idea of this book could have had potential, but the writing is so badly done… There was zero flow, zero cohesion. The entire thing felt super random, information left out, and there wasn’t anything likeable about the characters.

This is my first book by Lucy Scott Bryan and I do not know how I have not came across her before. After reading this I can honestly say that this will not be my last book of hers and my tbr has just gotten larger.
For me this book wasn’t like your normal omegaverse books in the sense there was a hidden depth in the writing and the character development. This book is emotionally charged and has your heart strings pulled through out. I honestly went on a rollercoaster of emotions in this book and let me tell you this is something that happens throughout, there are highs, lows and all the in-betweens.
For me I felt an easy connection to Heidi and you Lucy Scott Byran made it easy to feel her emotions off the page – a woman who has a family name behind her and with this comes the disjointedness of having people around her who really don’t have her best interests as heart. Not only is she attacked but her heart is left shattered. She builds herself back up and becomes a stronger, more resilient person. Time passes and then a new alpha enters her life and introduces her to his pack. Can she really let her guard down again and let them get close to her or is history about to repeat itself.
So what else does this story offer, possessive, touch her and die alphas, off the charts chemistry, steam and passion.
Can’t wait for more from Lucy Scott Bryan.

This is Heidi’s book in the Scornedverse series and let you tell you it is one roller coaster of a ride. You experience so many emotions throughout this book. You can feel all the trauma and happiness as we journey alongside Heidi, Ramses, Darius, and Kai. This story immediately pulls you in from the very beginning. We quickly see how strong, intelligent, feisty and just amazing Heidi is. She is an amazing FMC and we see that she has to fight every step of the way. This story is extremely well written and developed. Lucy Scott Bryan never fails to deliver a story that isn’t one to pull you into a world that becomes as real as you and I are. It is a story that is packed so full of drama, action, suspense, and a bit of mystery. I love the relationship between the Scorned Girls. They have this bond that is completely unbreakable. They will have you laughing up a storm at their antics. It is fantastic that we see some of the characters from the first book. I loved how they blend together but yet are separated at the same time. The ending of this book was absolutely brilliant. This is absolutely a must read and does not disappoint.

I love the Scorned Girls!

I wish I had read this one closer to the time when I read the first, as the two timelines overlap and I’ve read a lot of books in between and forgot some of what happened in the first one. It’s not essential, but things make a lot more sense when you still remember what was going on from the other story perspectives.

Regardless, this was really good. It was a bit of a slow start for me. The double-scorned set up meant the beginning took up a larger portion of the book, before we got to the groveling, reconciling, and revenge on wrongdoers. The ending for those in on the plots was also a bit anticlimactic, I felt. Not as hands-on or involved as I thought it would be, given how complex the evil plotting had been.

The MMCs were great. Darius was a bit strong for me, and they all had their overly alpha moments that I didn’t love, but their devotion to the FMC was great. I loved seeing so much of Koz, Puck, and other key characters from the first book.

I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series, as there were plenty of breadcrumbs dropped in this one to tease at what’s going on with the other Scorned Girls.

Would recommend!

I'm DNFing at 25% because I am really not enjoying this at all.

I'm into the concept, and I was really looking forward to obsessed triplet alphas doting on one omega. At this point she's met one of them and I don't even really like their interactions. He's coming off as creepy but she's totally into it.

I absolutely cannot STAND her besties.

I went to business school but I can't figure out why she's important enough to be on the Board but not given the power to fire the alpha bodyguard who openly mocks and disrespects her and has a clear conflict of interest, and has been to PRISON for MURDER.

I'm not vibing with the writing style, but I did see some other reviews that said this isn't the norm from this author so I'm willing to try again with a plot and characters I hopefully find more engaging.

Oh man, I was REALLY looking forward to meeting the triplets.

I might just take a break from this and come back to it later.

I loved Heidi's story!
From the beginning, I was reeled in!!
Every time I thought I knew what was gonna happen next, I was proved wrong. There were so many twists and turns, some had me on the edge of my seat!
Filled with secrets, suspense, humor, spice and much more!!

Heidi was a great FMC. She was intelligent, resilient, and also relatable.
I loved her friendship with her Scorned Girls.
Heidi was one lucky lady...triplets, Darius, Kairo, Ramses!!!
I love, love, loved them.
I love that they support her and appreciate her strength while still being protective.
The banter between the the brothers and Heidi was great. The steam was top notch 👌!!
I thought it was fantastic and I loved their ending!!

Lucy Scott Bryan has delivered yet again with Knot Again! Set in the Scorned Girls Omegaverse, LSB gives us a strong, self capable FMC in Heidi. After a heartbreaking betrayal, Heidi becomes reliant on the one person she can trust (besides her Scorned Girls): herself.

Cue the arrival of the devastatingly handsome triplets, Darius, Kai, and Ramses. Coming with their own baggage, these three men must prove beyond a shadow of a doubt to Heidi that their devotion to her is real.

As with LSB’s other books, this is a fantastic read. The spice levels are 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and the world building that takes place is phenomenal. I highly recommend this and all of LSB’s books!!

There were things I like but didn’t like about this book. It seemed kind of draw out and rushed in certain parts which made me lose focus a bit. The ending felt a bit rushed and it felt like the only thing they did in the end was have sex. I like the suspense throughout the book and I love the way her pack found her. Overall it was a fairly good book and was very amusing watching her mates try to win her back.

Absolutely loved. I’ve been waiting for this book and it so didn’t disappoint me at all. This is the second book of this series. This book is about Heidi. The next of the scorned girls. Heidi is also an omega. So yes this is an Omegaverse story. Which I’m so hooked on lately. From start to finish I devoured this book. No spoilers here. I will say the storyline was phenomenal and made me wanting more. Definitely a great story.

Heidi is is strong, smart and resilient omega. She has had to overcome betrayal, loss and so much more. Her story is a heck of a rollercoaster that gets you invested quickly. It was easy to root for Heidi and her pack, even when wanting to shake an individual or two. This is a very interesting and entertaining omegaverse RH romance.

After reading book 1, I couldn’t wait to read about the rest of the scorned girls. Both Rainey and Heidi’s book’s are a bit darker as they both have complained pasts. I loved the plot as well as the characters in this book the most so far though. Heidi comes from money and has a famous family. So there is a lot of pressure on her to live up to certain expectations. She feels so alone and has no voice since she’s an omega. The expectations she expected to live by are stifling. However once Heidi’s new pack comes into the picture, things change. Can Heidi trust these guys are in fact here for her or will it be history repeating itself?

This is a ten star read! This book has it all…espionage, intrigue, romance and nail biting action! I love that Bryan makes her female heroines sassy and smart. Heidi is an omega with strength and fortitude. I loved the plot development with all its twists and turns. It was gripping to the point you can’t put it down. Knot Again, book 2 of the Scornedverse series by Lucy Scott Bryan @lucyscottbryan

First off, I am a huge fan of Lucy & this book was no different! Part One tore my heart out. That jerk! 😭😭😭 Part Two put my heart back together with Heidi’s new Alphas who are so amazing to her. This was such a fantastic book. Seriously, get it & read it now. This series is best read in order.

DNF on page 115. She has only laid eyes on one hero and hasn’t even exchanged names with him. I’m all for slow burn, but this is just slow. And boring. I keep reading a page and then switching to an app game or social media, which is not the way I like to read a book. I want to be invested and unable to put it down and resentful of interruptions.

The writing is very disjointed with no interesting flow. Even when she meets her scent match, I know we’re not supposed to like him, but it was so hard to connect with what she was feeling and it went 0-90 with no explanation of how she got there and why she acted the way she did, with his continued rejection and disinterest. Names are also said ad nauseam. People do not say other people's names this much (or at all) unless they’re trying to get their attention.

And her friends are a NIGHTMARE. I hate them. Actually loathe their appearance on page. They are horrible people who belittle her and set her up in potentially dangerous situations. And then I realized they are past and future heroines of the series. I want to read about women who build each other up, not this toxic group, and that’s when I had to stop.

I was just going to delete it, but it has a lot of glowing reviews that suckered me in, and now I feel like I wasted my time. Obviously some people love this book, and I’m happy for the author that that’s the case. Maybe it gets better, but I feel like 100 pages is enough of an investment to care about the characters. There were so many, I couldn’t keep them straight - and we’ve barely even glimpsed her future pack at 115 pages in.

If you read romance for the romance and appreciate women who want the best for each other, you might want to proceed with caution.

Dnf page 180. I’m just really confused by this story. It doesn’t act like a normal omega verse. It’s like it was added as a second thought. There was no real connection between the love interests. I could have powered through because it was an interesting story line but unfortunately the writing was awful. Example: “All the fun and disaster evaporates when I hear resignation…” what? How does disaster evaporate. What does that even mean?? It was also very disjointed. It felt like the author just wanted to add a bunch of different things to create an adventure but no thought was given for how it would all go together. For example, there was no explanation as to why she was at auction. She was just suddenly there. The explanation came later and by then I was already confused. Or when she had a board meeting and decided to glitch their screens to cause technical difficulties. Instead of making the character stand up for herself and have an awesome scene, she somehow can cause them to glitch their screens. Even though she said she’s never been allowed at their table. She one time apparently snuck in and installed a high piece of tech and no one saw her. Like what?! Where did that come from. She could have been a bada** and stood up for herself and had a great character defining moment where she is now going to turn a lead and stop being a pushover. But nope. And let’s make things super realistic *sarcasm* by allowing one of the guys to break into a highly locked down dorm or whatever she lives in and scale the 5 story building just to go into a rut where there was barely any detail.

Also, I still can’t figure out why one of the guys was in a disguise towards the beginning at all. What was the point?? It came out of nowhere and they explained nothing!!!

Not a single part of this was enjoyable and all the reasoning's for why things progressed the way they did in the book is ... weak? lacking? so fucking boring I couldn't care? None of the characters feel like real people. Don't even get me started on the "scorned girls" bullshit (it's mentioned 40 fucking times) and "slots before knots" because I'm going to throw up on your face. Not a single one of those conversations with her girl group felt necessary, none of the friendship nor their reasoning for naming themselves scorned comes up. I don't know a single person's age in this book. All I know is there's a six year time jump and home girl has been omega university for SIX YEARS. And they were constantly putting her down and saying all she does is complain when literally (she pisses me off so much in general) she has no other people she CAN safely complain to. Idk it all just rubbed me wrong.

Whew, what a ride!

This is the second standalone in the Scornedverse. The story is definitely more enjoyable if you have read book one though. This is Heidi’s story and I loved it. It is close to 600 pages but the story never drags. All of those pages are needed because the story is complex and the character development is deep. There are twists and turns that keep the plot moving and plenty of spicy time mixed in. The next book in the series is Tristan’s story and I cannot wait.

Hated the insta-s**. It was super weird and the pacing of their relationship was ridiculously unrealistic. I was confused with the shifters - this says it can be read as a standalone and that’s what I did but there’s no way for you not to be confused with the world and its creatures. Also, how weird was her relationship with her parents??? No familial at all (she calls them by name???).

❗️SPOILER-ISH❗️

I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I personally read this as a standalone, even though it is book #2 in the Scornedverse series. Knot Letting You Go, which is book #1, is about Heidi’s friend Raney and her Alphas. The characters do intertwine but I don’t think that anything was ruined by reading this series out of order. Either way, I’ll be checking it out and I can’t wait for Tristan’s book.

✓ Why Choose
✓ Omegaverse
✓ 3 Alpha brothers

Now on to the main event! Knot Again is about Heidi and her delicious pack! Her Alpha’s are triplet brothers, Ramses “Ram,” Darius “Dare,” and Kairo “Kai” Denali. I loved them all. The storyline kept me interested, Heidi’s journey wasn’t an easy one. But she’s a really strong character - she’s an omega in a male dominated business where everyone see’s her as weak and incompetent. She’s dealing with all of that, but also has threats to her safety and her heart. But the road to happiness often starts off with a lot of pain.

❤️”Crashing into my world like you j just did, you just changed my gravity. From this point on you’ve realigned yourself as my guiding light in the dark.” - Dare
_______________________

I love the guys! The brothers are triplets, and in their world being a triplet is illegal. There are laws that force triplets into hiding. They spent their lives hiding who they were, using false names, disguises and suppressants to mask their scents. But because Heidi is their scent match she can see past all of that. I love the guys, they each bring something special to the table. Ram being the oldest carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and he’s protective of Heidi and his brothers. Dare is the middle brother and has a flirtatious playful attitude. And he calls Heidi “Little Moon” which I think is adorable. Last but not least, there’s Kai who is the sweet one, who gives off the caretaker vibe. He calls Heidi “Rohi” which means soulmate. Because “calling someone Rohi means you’ll love them a lot longer than your life.” I mean SWOON!! But as perfect as these men are - of course they fuck up along the way and have to find a way to win their girl back. It was sweet to watch these badass Alpha’s grovel, pulling out all the tricks (including kitties,) and using their filthy fucking mouths along the way. And I have never wanted to charter a helicopter quicker then I did after chapter 49. ‘cause .. DAMN! 🔥

_______________________

❤️ “You want to taste my devotion? You want to choke on how sorry I am? I want you to feel my love as it stretched your lips. It’s hard being me, little moon, but every part of me is yours.” - Dare
_______________________

Put aside the romance aspect of the book - I also enjoyed the backstory. Like I mentioned above, Heidi is a strong character, queen vibes - she’s the kind of woman you want your daughter to look up to. She’s trying to find her way in a male dominated world - keep her family’s company with threats all around her. And it gets a little wild once things start to make sense. But the one thing I hated was that her friends called her ho, and I know it was in reference to Heidi Ho, but it felt over used because it seemed like every sentence they spoke said it.

_______________________

❤️I promise you, everything you are feeling, I am too. I’ll do anything for you, but please don’t ever ask me not to kiss you again.” - Ramses
_______________________

This is a little spoiler-ish but poor Ayden! At first I’m like how is he her scent Alpha, and can disregard her so easily? I thought for sure because of the 6 year time jump he’d have just had to beg on his hands and knees for forgiveness and become a part of her pack. Even though he was a little crazy, and his situation was inevitable but like I said I was still hoping that he would have a chance at redemption with Heidi. And back to the time jump, why did it take the guys 6 years to go to Heidi? I mean Heidi and Rams scent matched but I get that she had trauma and didn’t remember him. But poor Ramses having to struggle for 6 years to stay away from his Omega. Why couldn’t they move the timeline up? But… anyway. I still really loved the story - I had no huge issues with anything that happened.

‼️Check TW’s before reading‼️

Not quite as good as the first book in the series and I felt the ending was rushed, with a sort of two page monologue explaining why the antagonist did what they did! Even then I had to read it twice to understand what Heidi was talking about!! However the story takes you on a rollercoaster ride with Heidi, when things go wonderfully right for her, only to push her down again and again. I absolutely loved the triplet brothers, they were so yummy, sweet and fiercely protective with a deadly side to them as secret vigilantes. Dare’s wonderfully funny & crazy personality was my favourite 🥰

Heidi certainly gets dragged through the wringer in the course of this book. Being the heir of a major pharmaceutical company means there are dangers and threats all around her by so many people, not only from the public, but even within her own inner circle, including her first scent matched alpha who breaks her heart so many times.
After his heartbreaking betrayal and revelation she’s brutally attacked & drugged by an alpha suffering from ADV. This is yet again used against her by the deceitful board members to keep her downtrodden and away from the company

Time passes and then a new scent match alpha enters her life and introduces her to his pack. Can she really let her guard down again and let them get close to her or is history about to repeat itself.

The Triplet brothers, Ramses, Darius & Kairo, fall for Heidi immediately, they treat her like a princess, loving and spoiling her as much as they can, courting their obviously previously hurt scent match. Their relationship is going to be a difficult one to navigate, as birthing triplets is outlawed and illegal, so the brothers have always grown up hiding who they are, never being allowed to be seen out together in public.

However they have an even bigger family secret which they are unsure how to tell her about, so delay informing her. One night whilst needing to go out to perform said secret job, they make a disastrous decision, they decide it would be a good idea to roofie her water and leave her unconscious and alone, while they went off and got on with their vigilante work as the Phoenix Group.

This is yet another heartbreaking betrayal for Heidi and pulls the plug on their relationship. She dusts herself off, being used to having to stand on her own and is even more determined to take her rightful place as CEO by any means necessary. With her fast approaching trust end date she makes the decision to take another pack, she doesn’t want and fully focuses on her career.

However her three gorgeous and overprotective alphas aren’t going to let her get away from them and start stalking her every move. They have a lot of work cut out for them to get her back, with lots of grovelling and to finally disclose their family secrets.

The brothers have to work together to protect Heidi from threats, whilst also hiding the fact they are triplets and Heidi’s bonded alphas, biding their time whilst Heidi’s dad works at overturning the law.

Until There Is No Tomorrow ✨

So far I am absolutely loving the books in this series. I love that we get a glimpse of past events that have shaped our FMC, then we move onto the present, which also gives us a little peek behind the scenes into certain parts of Raney’s story. I loved the unpredictability of this story. You know the writing is superb when you literally can’t predict what’s going to happen, so you end up finding yourself with plenty of surprises throughout the story. I also ADORE the relationship the Scorned Girls have together. Their friendship is the kind that everyone wants, but rarely finds 🙌🏻❤️ I already knew I liked Heidi after seeing her in Raney’s book, but now I freakin LOVE her 🥰 She shows us how fierce, smart, capable & strong she can be, but also how vulnerable & unsure she is, none of which is due to her inherent Omega nature. She was everything you could possibly want to see in a FMC, and it made for an explosive book, because so many people underestimated her. Now for Heidi’s alphas. This is where I would usually talk about who’s my favorite, and why he edged the others out. Yeah, not this time. All of her alphas were GOLD ✨🙌🏻😍🔥 They each stood out for the way they gave her what she needed, both emotionally & physically. They all took the top spot for favorite in this book…there’s talk that they may even be contenders to take over Koz’s top spot as my favorite LSB alpha 😉🫣😈 IYKYK 😝 It was truly beautiful to see them give her something she had only gotten from her girls in the past…the ability to truly be herself without having to worry her actions being picked apart & found wanting in some way. They were truly some of the most swoon worthy alphas I had ever seen in a book 😍 Not to say that they were perfect, because they certainly didn’t do anything halfway, which includes screwing up, but even their groveling was emotionally charged & well thought out. They never gave up on our girl, because they knew she was meant to be theirs. With such amazing characters, twists & turns that you will never see coming, heated & passionate moments, humor, steadfast friendship, danger, action, mystery, suspense, and strong, all-consuming love, you’ll find yourself as enamored with this story as I did. Also, while I do feel that this book can stand on its own, I really do recommend reading Raney’s story first. Things make just a bit more sense in parts if you do. I can’t wait for Tristan’s story next. I know it’s going to be as exciting as the 1st two books have been ❤️
