Caught in the middle of a war between the Resistance and the League, Salem Hubbard, a determined investigator for the newly formed SPU, sets out to protect humanity from supernatural beings lurking in the shadows. But when she crosses paths with the alluring and mysterious Cullen Manchester, an arctic wolf-shifter who recognizes her as his fated mate, she finds herself torn between her duty and her heart's forbidden desires.
As Salem and Cullen delve deeper into the world of the shifters, they uncover a dark conspiracy that threatens to unleash chaos and destruction upon both humans and paranormals. With no one else to turn to, they form an unlikely alliance to unravel the truth and stop the impending disaster.
As their bond strengthens and their feelings intensify Salem and Cullen must also confront those who forbid their relationship. As they navigate through treacherous politics, betrayals, and hidden agendas, their growing attraction becomes more dangerous than they could have ever imagined.
If you enjoy the heart-stopping action and forbidden romance in books then you won't want to miss out on this thrilling tale of love, betrayal, and the battle for survival.

This was another action-packed story! The fight with the Shadow League brings to light more paranormal characters. Cullen and Salem are bound by a prophecy and fate. This adventure had passion, betrayal, and intrigue. I highly recommend this as your next read!

Delta James takes us back to Otter Falls with the sixth book in her "Otter Cove Shifters" series. 'Mystic Mate' is an incredible, fast-paced, action-filled, fated-mate romance with all the intrigue we've come to know and love with this series. Read the blurb and you'll find out we get to meet Cullen, an arctic-wolf-shifter and Alpha of the Ghost Moon Pack up between the Aleutian Mountains and Otter Cove, Alaska. Salem was an agent for the FBI who worked well with the local police department but only sometimes followed protocol when trading information. Not only that, but she and her supervisor had a personal altercation which left Salem on his hit list. That's how she was transferred to Alaska and accepted a position with the Special Projects Unit of the Department. But will she be working for the good guys or the bad guys? Luckily Salem's best friend is married to one of the Phantom Fire so she doesn't rattle easily. She knew about the Shadow League and shifters but coming face-to-face with wolf-shifters, the Shadow Sisters, and now Vampires? It makes a girl wonder just who she can trust. Cullen wanted no part of the Resistance or the Shadow League. He just wanted to keep his pack safe. But when he realized his fated mate was a warrior like him and she was immersed in the fight, he had no choice but to join the fight. I am so invested in this series. I want to know what happens and yet I know once I do, the final page will say The End and I'm still determining if I'm ready for that.
I loved how Salem came to Alaska to study paranormal activity and finds her true mate over a stake and a vampire. Delta has a way of drawing out a love story, A plot that has a lot of suspense within the plot. She has Cullen the arctic wolf shifter save his mate in the beginning of the story so that they will fight each other and then work together to end evil and live happily ever after.
Salem and Cullen’s story continues the saga of the Otter Cove and Mystic River supernaturals. It’s starts with a whimper as Salem gets shoveled off to Alaska by her vengeful, misogynist of a boss, but gets so much better when she finds out about supernaturals and being one ! Enter Alphahole Cullen to save the day and he can’t figure out why she’s upset ! Not ! So much fun , snarky commentary as well as heat in the bedroom all while trying to save the world by killing one bad vampire at a time ( or ten… who’s counting ?). Love the series, adore the continuation of seeing beloved characters too. 5✨’s . I can’t wait for the next book in either series ! I received a copy from the Author and am choosing to write a review .
Absolutely an addictive reading storyline. Great, strong characters. Much drama and even more spice. From zero to a great read within the first few pages. The ending left me with wanting to know much more, but knowing that the series continues I await impatiently. A bonus is the crossing of characters from Otter's Cove. I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you BookSirens
The new series is a spin-off from the Mystic River Shifters series and will even have cameo appearances from some of the characters in that series. Like Mystic River, Otter Cove is a small, isolated community inhabited only by shifters—but shifters of all kinds. What happens with FBI agent, Salem Hubbard, who has a misogynistic boss who is always looking for something to get rid of her? She gets assigned to Alaska! But things go crazy, and she is confronted by what she assumes is a Vampire. Good thing she carries Mr. Pointy with her. Another agent, with the Special Project Unit (SPU) witnesses her encounter and offers her a unique position with them.
Cullen Manchester, an Arctic Wolf, and Alpha of Ghost Moon Manor, has avoided taking sides with Colby Reynolds and the Resistance but knows that with things happening, he must choose, and it isn’t with the Shadow League. Cullen hasn’t met his fated mate—but that will change too. What a shock when Cullen meets Salem—he knows immediately she is his fated mate—but she is also human. But if that isn’t enough, she knows about paranormal beings. And how is she in possession of a Celestial Key?
“How did she know about shifters and vampires in the first place? Humans had no business knowing these things.”
I loved this story and the chemistry between Cullen and Salem just oozes off the pages. He must take it slow with her, not wanting to overwhelm her with the fact she is his fated mate. They work so well together on the paranormal mystery of what is happening in Alaska, and understanding that she must be careful with who she reports to at the SPU becomes apparent—it seems that there are good, bad, and evil elements in play. The Ghost Moon Manor pack accepts her easily, and she and Jinx work well together, trying to uncover information and using the Celestial Key, which only seems to work for Salem. But that isn’t all that will be uncovered. Cullen isn’t pushing Salem but instead is wooing her.
Salem: This is so wrong in so many ways, but I am so enjoying it. Thank you. I don’t think I expected Prince Charming. Cullen: Forget the prince. Choose the wolf. He can see you better, hear you better, and eat you better.
“I’ve made a decision. I thought you should be the first to know. I don’t know diddly about being a part of a wolf pack, but I know I’ve never wanted anything more than I want to be with the alpha of this wolf pack,”
“Salem looked at Cullen with the knowledge that she was standing at the proverbial fork in the road, and whichever path she chose to tread, her life would never be the same again.”
The story is part of this battle of good versus evil and it is coming to a head. As these stories continue, so does the danger of the Shadow League and that means that various shifters groups are preparing for war—one they know is imminent. While these stories do not end on cliffhangers, the epilogue is a segue into the next story.
Time for Cullen and Salem's story. I was actually looking forward to this one probably because Cullen is an Arctic Wolf, and no one writes wolf shifters better than the author. We got to jump right into the story without having to worry about any back story on the characters. Why? We've already met Salem in Wild Fire. She's the FBI agent that Dani calls for help & Cullen, well he's a wolf shifter. Salem gets transferred to Alaska because her boss is a misogynistic chauvinist. Good for her because she is transferred to the SPU & we meet two of her new bosses which makes the reader wonder which one is working for the bad guys. We can also guess Salem has witches in her ancestry since she keeps explaining she was named after the capital of Oregon and not Salem Massachusetts.
Salem & Cullen meet up when they both are hunting a nest of vampires. I really hope the author ties the little things up like who gave Salem Max's stakes and why. Cullen knows she's his fated mate but does something very un-Alpha Male & Un-wolf like & shows he understands Salem and knows she's an Alpha and the way to win her over is using his intelligence & showing her, he's not afraid of her strength and intelligence. Cullen and Salem are probably one of the strongest couples equal in intelligence and power. Cullen's pack immediately recognize and appreciated Salem's intelligence, strengths, and fighting abilities.
The arc is moved forward, and we learn more tidbits. I really don't know how the author is going to be able to tie everything up and do the characters in the story justice. Hopefully there's a book just dedicated to the war, and we get to revisit old friends. Arctic wolves play an important role in the coming battles. Salem may have a teacher from her ancestors' old coven to help guide her in using her powers. The women in Cullen's pack are extremely intelligent and the warriors are the elite of the shifters. Colby may be a big shot in the resistance, but he looks to Cullen as an equal & with a bit of awe. Then there are the vampires and the Russian vampires. Yes, I groaned loudly - Vampires? Why insert vampires? Are we pulling every paranormal entity in the pot now? I'm still not sold on the vampires "suddenly" entering the world, but they seemed to be relegated to "stupid bad guys" and the Russian vampires may decide it's really not worth it. I'll give the author a chance and hope she hasn't gone off the rails trying to include every entity. Warlocks? OMG I laughed so hard at their antics. Moe, Larry, and Curly are too good for them. Salem should rename them Larry, my brother Daryl, and my other brother Daryl.

I just finished Mystic Mate, Otter Cove Shifters: Book 6.
I kinda like some of the intense police procedurals, where the Homicide team works with a ‘murder board’, and clues are added & filled in & the case is worked to its resolution. I have a daydream where Delta James has a HUGE timeline, a shifter board, put up somewhere in her office. It maps the ongoing stories & timelines, as they develop the plot and lead up to the final climax. Except, HER board is even more complex; after all, she must track all the bad guys, all their machinations & allegiances, but also, all the good guys ( and gals!) keeping sight of what THEY are doing & accomplishing as counter-measures, and how THEY are finding & bonding their fated mates! And… just because they might both be on the side of the good guys, don’t think that their course is smooth & peachy! These shifters are WARRIORS and their ladies are their partners in every way; they don’t NEED a man to take care of them, but they may CHOOSE to join to a mate and join the fight… once any initial reluctance or rebellion is overcome! 😉🤣😉
And, another thing… how DOES Delta continue to give us a new couple for each story, each unique, but soooo fabulous? It’s a true talent!
We’re introduced to a new pack, in Mystic Mate. Callum is the Alpha, and he’s very Alpha-ey. Salem, a human, starts out with the FBI, but times are changing. She finds herself in a new locale, with a new unit, & circumstances she could never have imagined. Then, there’s this guy…..They have the potential to be a really hot couple… will they be? It’s Delta James. What do you think? 🤔 🤣😆😂
We see some familiar faces. We meet plenty of new characters. Is everyone who they seem to be? We are moving steadily to the coming war, but are still being introduced to new players. Everyone has their own agenda.
Each story has enough info to be read as a standalone… but why would you do that? There’s not a single couple, or story I’d leave out. I think we’ll see more of them, too, in the stories to come.
Get Mystic Mate, Otter Cove Shifters: Book 6, by Delta James. Get it. Read it. And marvel at the wild & crazy (& sexy!) of the imagination of Delta James. You’ll be glad you did! (And, don’t forget to download the bonus epilogue offered!)

The battle preparations are heating up; the writing is declining. Delta James' Mystic Mate is the sixth in the Otter Cove series. It is a 201-page story about Cullen and Salem being drawn together as fated mates and drawn into the fight against the Shadow League by the Resistance. As the battle heats up, we get fewer glimpses into the ensemble cast that makes up Otter Cove, Windsong, and the Mystic River shifters, which I found compelling and made me want to learn more about the characters and continue reading the series. Speaking of characters, Warrick, a dragon shifter and part of the Phantom Fire, is mentioned without a backstory in Feral Mate. I figured it would come. Unbeknownst to me, there is a series of the Phantom Fire Dragons that I did not know about. I only found it by looking for it specifically. Mentioning the different series of crossovers in the back of the books would not be remiss. As I see them now, they are just lists of books without mentioning their relevance to other series other than being a spin-off. As the intrigue and battle arrangements come together, the quality of writing, editing, and proofing is declining. Usually, I would give Ms. James a 5-star rating due to her excellence in story-telling and world-building, with one or two typos not being enough to subtract a star from the rating. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. In this and Feral Mate, I noted several repetitions of either an editing error or just forgetfulness on the author's part. The typos are, though few, are more disruptive to the flow of reading; a sentence about the FMC starts with 'He'. Last but not least, there are continuity errors that can cause the reader to stop and wonder what they missed. In this book, Mason is noted as being a snow leopard, but in Feral Mate, which is about Mason and Emery, Mason is turned into a cave lion by Emery. There is even a touching scene where Mason says goodbye to his snow leopard. All in all, I find the failure in Ms.James' track of excellence disappointing. That being said, this and all of Ms. James' books are worth reading. I own this book and many others. In the future, I may consider borrowing them from Ku where available.
Salem Hubbard is an FBI agent, working out of the Seattle WA office. She and her supervisor tend to butt heads because of her strong will. Right now she's waiting to be upbraided for a recent episode where she shared some information with a friend at the Seattle P.D., which was against protocol. Her boss has been waiting for an incident serious enough that he can get rid of her without actually firing her, and he's landed on this issue of insubordination as the means to transfer her to Alaska.
While Salem doesn't have any friends in Kenai, she does have a friend on Kodiak Island, Dani, who is the mate of dragon shifter Warrick. Dragons and vampires are natural enemies, so Dani gifted Salem with a set of hand-crafted wood knives "just in case" she ever had to defend herself from vamps. Salem always carried a "Mr. Pointy" with her. Little did she realize how soon she would need it.
Cullen Manchester, a beefy blond wolf shifter and Alpha of the Ghost Moon Pack in Otter Cove, has been seeking his fated mate for a long time. Finally he scents her. Without realizing it, they are both investigating a cell of vampires in a ghost town hotel and literally run into each other in the basement. While Salem is as yet unfamiliar with the "fated mate" relationship, Cullen recognizes her as the woman of his dreams and determines that it's best to take things slow with her.
Their relationship strengthens as they work together. There's a lot of action in this story; danger, fights, threats, insecurities, and of course, Cullen's claiming of Salem.
With the assistance of Colby Reynolds, lynx shifter and head of the Windsong Pack, they combine their efforts toward defeating the vampires and, more importantly, the rogue shifters. Come along as Cullen, Salem and the Ghost Moon Pack strike back against Abraham Stroud and the evil of the Shadow League.

Holy cow! This book is non-stop action, intrigue and heat. Incredible characters and story. Highly recommend! Must read.
Salem Hubbard is an FBI special agent. She is curvy, competent and caustic. Her misogynistic boss in Seattle transfers her to Alaska.
Cullen Manchester is the alpha of the Ghost Moon artic wolf shifter pack. He is an investment analyst by trade and a dominant.
Leaving dinner with her friends Dani and Warrick she is accosted by vampires. Special agent Christopher Reeves helps her take out the vampires and then asks her to join the Special Projects Unit of the Bureau. She accepts the job promotion and moves to Kenai, Alaska. She is also given an artifact from Far Pointe (a classified site) that no one knows what it does. Her job is to get information on vampires in Alaska. She figured out how to use the artifact and it leads her to a vampire nest in an old ghost town.
Cullen was asked by Colby Reynolds to check out rumors of vampires and followed a map to the ghost town. He sees Salem arrive and realized she is his fated mate. He find a a third entrance to the underground cavern and helps Salem fight off the vampires. They escape on her ATV and he tells her the artifact is a Celestial key, a glorified servant used to navigate by the stars. She returns to her cabin. Cullen has a group of his men watching out for her. She confronts the men watching her and asks to be brought to Ghost Moon Manor. They work together to find more vampire nests and save the vampires hostages. Meanwhile they start a relationship and she starts to transition to an article wolf. Salem gets kidnapped by a planted hostage, finds out she is a witch, the wolves battle a group of vampires and Shadow League agents, and they get their HEA. When FBI agent Salem Hubbard’s antagonistic boss decides to get rid of her, he transfers her to remote Alaska where she joins the Special Projects Unit (SPU). The unit is aptly named because the special projects are special indeed – Salem is tasked with ferreting out information on vampires.
Cullen Manchester, the forceful alpha of a pack of artic wolf shifters, is tracking vampires as well. A map leads him to a ghost town where he spots Salem and recognizes her as his fated mate. He’s able to help her fight off a nest of vampires, but he wonders how his beautiful mate knows far more about the paranormal world than a human should.
Together, Salem and Cullen join forces with the Resistance to combat the murderous Shadow League, a mysterious group determined to rule both shifters and humans. Cullen recognizes the alpha in Salem and is quick to embrace all of her strengths, making the duo a powerful force. They are well-matched, and watching their bond develop is a great deal of fun. I love how quickly Cullen’s pack accepts Salem as a valued member with unique gifts and skills.
There’s a lot of plot-driven suspense and danger in the book but the romance never takes second seat to the page-turning action, which is the main reason I read Delta’s books. The story can easily be read as a standalone, but I’d recommend starting at the beginning of the Mystic River/Otter Cove series because the characters are so good, and each book adds another layer of intriguing information about the confrontation we all know is coming between the sinister Shadow League and the Resistance.

I was so glad to get back to Alaska and the Mystic River area. James has created an amazing community up there: welcoming, friendly, homey, open (though with a certain level of caution given the recent turn of events). Cullen is Alpha to a Pack of Arctic Wolves up at the far northern region that tend to stay to themselves for the most part. He's a fabulous alpha and, like the rest of the men, a true protector who cares deeply for those he considers family.
Our female lead character is Salem. She's an FBI agent who gets transfered to Alaska as a special force agent to address what the agency feels are "vampire issues". A little gizmo they give her may help. If she can ever figure out how to use it!!
These two are bound to cross paths, as Salem enters into Cullen's territory. Once he's found her, better believe he's not letting her out of his grasp! She's headstrong and determined, though highly responsive to his form of persuasion. 😉😆 Will they be successful against the vampires endeavors (one branch of the Shadow League's master plan)? Hold onto your popcorn folks, this is a fast and bumpy ride - but oooh, so much fun!!
I adore Delta James creativity and story telling. While this book can be read as a standalone, why would you want to? This series is phenomenal and works in conjunction with the Mystic River Shifters series, with a shared arc running throughout. Don't miss out on all the action, drama, romance and suspense. Grab your copy today! I am greatful to have been gifted a copy of this book and volunteered this review. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Heading into mystical territory with Cullen & Salem
Adding magic, prophesies, first contact with the formerly unseen strings of the Shadow League, voices of ancestors indwelling a central figure, ancient artifacts, spies, betrayals... on top of the standard shifter/mate storyline.
The Resistance continues to entreat Cullen to join their ranks, but it isn't until he finds his mate that he realizes he truly must enter the fray. His pack of Arctic Wolves will be essential to this war, and his mating to Salem is necessary for the survival of good in the world (not that either was against it).
I enjoyed Cullen & Salem more than most couples in this world. It was nice to read a strong and capable FMC, who could feel the bond and rationally conclude that it was a good thing. I liked each of them individually, and together.
The resolution comes a bit quickly for me at the end, but it seems to be suggesting that this couple is overpowered (perhaps something like the "Captain Marvel" of this little universe). Thoroughly enjoyed the book until the last 35 pages or so, when all the fantastic additional elements arrive alongside the baddies. Stuff happens fast, and a lot felt glossed over to me at the end. Solid HEA, and great lead into the next book, helps us care a bit less about that. For now, anyway.
Loving the world and ready to see how close we are to the final battles.
Salem is a FBI agent with the boss from hell. When he suddenly transfers her to Alaska she is only annoyed. It means leaving her friend Dani, but maybe she will get a better boss. After a dinner with Dani and Warrick, she is attacked on her way home. She is astonished to realize that her attackers are not human but she has just the thing to fight them - Mr. Pointy. Someone jumps in to help her and the next thing she knows she is part of a clandestine unit of the FBI and being introduced to the supernatural. Finding out the Warrick is a dragon is a shocker, but at least she knows Dani will be safe.
Cullen Manchester is the alpha of Ghost Moon Pack, a pack of arctic wolf shifters. Colby Reynolds has been trying to get him and his pack involved in the Resistance but so far he hasn't seen a reason to join. When Colby asks him to check out a ghost town, he reluctantly agrees. He is looking it over from a distance when an ATV shows up carrying a human female. His mate. Who is about to walk in on a danger she knows nothing about - vampires.
Lots of action in this one. Salem is going to find out some things about herself and her ancestors and there be vampires. Fortunately, Salem is really good with Mr. Pointy. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
A wonderful read with terrific characters. the battle against the Shadow League This was a wonderful addition to the Otter Cover Shifters and the fact that the Salem Hubbard a determined investigator has been sent out to try and protect and keep humanity as safe as he possibly can and hopefully keeping them free from things that lurk in the shadows. Cullen Manchester is an arctic wolf who recognises Salem Hubbard a new face in Otter Cove as his much longed for and awaited for Fated Mate which is something he could never ever have dreamed of happening. As the bond between the couple strengthens and it is so obvious that they are mates and between them they have drawn the fact that they need to discover a a fact they are trying to uncover the darker elements that are threatening to unleash chaos and destruction. I guarantee that you will love every moment of this book and I am sure that you will be blown away by this simply wonderful book, I guarantee that you will enjoy every single moment of this book you will be left looking forward to future books in this series. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all their wonderful writing.

'Mystic Mate' is another wonderful book in the Otter Cove Shifters series, and I couldn't put it down. This is Salem and Cullen's story, as they and their friends and shifters work together to end the Shadow League. Salem is a human and an FBI agent and was moved to the SPU, or Special Projects Unit and is searching for vampires. One of her favorite weapons is Mr. Pointy, a sharp stake! How does Delta James think of these things!
Cullen is an arctic wolf shifter and alpha of his pack. He doesn't want to join the Resistance but realizes he doesn't have much of a choice, as he and the Resistance need to destroy the Shadow League. Once he meets Salem, he also realizes that she is his fated mate.
Salem learns that there is a connection between her and witches from Salem, Massachusetts and she has special powers. Her ancestors help her learn how to use them to protect herself, Cullen, and the Resistance from evil. She is one tough fighter!
Once again, Delta James has created a gripping magical story that is so well written. Her characters come alive on the pages, and I can't wait for the next book in the series, 'Elusive Mate'.

I was expecting a strong, intelligent, competent fmc. I did get that in Salem. I was expecting the strong, intelligent, fair, non misogynistic, Alpha mmc. I got that in Cullen.
What I wasn't expecting was vampires, witches, covens, special FBI units, and prophecies. When the Shadow League finally comes face to face with the Resistance, I have a sneaking suspicion they will be unpleasantly surprised. I was also surprised by the way the prophecy was fulfilled.
I liked Jinx, Lettie, and Shaw's characters and the way they embraced Salem. I enjoyed the subtle, yet sarcastic humor Colby brings to the group. I loved Mr. Pointy and how Mr. Pointy came into play.
There was a nice amount if action and suspense. I liked Cullen and Salem's romance. Cullen was Alpha, but not overwhelming. It made me think that was why Salem was more receptive to him. There was also a nice amount of heat.
I would have liked to have seen more of the witchy part and shifter part of Salem interacting as one, and interacting with Cullen. I am looking forward to the next book in this saga.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via BookSirens.
Delta has delivered another excellent story. I like her writing style. Well written , thought out plot.
Both Cullen and Salem were well described.
Salem had secrets even she did not know about. She is a tough Special Agent who showed her instructors at Quantico a thing or two about self defense and shooting. A true warrior, courageous and not afraid to put herself in danger to protect the innocent. I like that she is BF to Dani .
Cullen is alpha of the pack. Need I say more. He knows Salem is his fated mate before he met her. He has his hands full trying to protect her.
Colby was a great "matchmaker" ,even though it wasn't confirmed.
Action through out the story. Steam to the eventual romance. Cullen had a lot of work trying to convince Salem that they should be together.
Very nice and perfect HEA for the couple.
There is a back story that is a continuation from the beginning of the series. So even though Cullen and Salem's story is standalone. It should still be read in order to understand the other story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Every time you read a book in this combination of series, you think the author cannot make any future books better. I was wrong. I keep saying every book was the best but then a new books come along and it is even better. This book, like the others is so well written - the continuity between books and characters in all the books is mind-blowing. I imagine the author having an entire wall in her office set up as a giant bulletin board that is floor to ceiling and wall to wall. I see pictures and notes connecting this to that and that to this. To me that is the only way to keep track of it all - that is how I would have to do it. I am in awe of the author's thought processes and being able to write a great story and planning future books at the same time. WOW!
This book is so good. It is a great combination of Humans, Shifters and Fated Mates… everything that makes these books so good. But this one ramps it up a notch or two. Add in prophecy and get this - vampires! Avery good steamy romance with an HEA and a tease of things to come. I can hardly wait.
A PARANORMAL GEM! This is a must-read! In author Delta James’s usual style comes an amazing story of love amidst the intrigue of an incredible paranormal world! Author James’s newest Otter’s Cove novel, MYSTIC MATE, is a compelling and complex story that takes her mature readers on a wild ride of suspense and discovery through the wilds of Alaska. Accompanied by two of Otter Cove’s most amazing characters, readers can’t help but become totally invested in Salem and Cullen as they fend off the evil trying to end them. Yet even with eyes sharpened by true love and the support of the community around them what kind of happy ending could Salem and Cullen have? You’ll have to pick up a copy of MYSTIC MATE to find out! I volunteered to read an ARC copy of MYSTIC MATE, and this is my voluntary 5+STAR review! MYSTIC MATE is an amazing paranormal romance with strong characters and a plotline that keeps you turning pages to discover what incredible thing happens next. Even though I want to, I can’t say enough good about MYSTIC MATE, other than shout “MYSTIC MATE is a MUST-READ you need to begin today!” 😉
Salem Hubbard works for the FBI, in Seattle, Washington. However, she helped out her friend on the force, Dani and outside of FBI protocols so she got in trouble. There is a Buffy, The Vampire Slayer item in this book that is hilarious but needed. I’m still laughing over it a few days later, after finishing the book. Salem is to be transferred to Alaska into an office by herself. However, she gets recruited by a FBI spook to do some work regarding supernaturals.
At Ghost Moon Manor, near Otter Cove, Alaska, the Alpha of the arctic wolves finds out that there is a nest of vampires nearby. Arctic Wolves are the only type of shifter that is immune to vampire bites and their abilities. So, Cullen Manchester, the Alpha, decides to go and do some recon. There he finds Salem kicking some major vampire bums into dust. Wooooo the fight scenes! He goes and helps because- hello it’s a nest! Cullen realizes that Salem is his fated mate, but she is human and doesn’t know much about the shifter world. The book is fun, scary, hilarious and steamy. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next book!
I received an advance reading copy for free and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wolf and Witch! The wolves and their Alpha of the Ghost Moon Pack are reluctant to enter the war between the Resistance and the Shadow League. This changes when Cullen meets Agent Salem Hubbard and realizes that she is his fated mate. Another couple with a shifter on one side and a human on the other. She is a strong lady, a warrior with special gifts and more are developing during the story. No push-over, as Cullen finds out and he loves her even more because of it. She’ll make a wonderful mistress of the pack next to him. But there are vampires mixed into the war on the Shadow side and there are some double agents they have to find and deal with. Characters from other books and series make their appearance and to enjoy this book to the fullest it’s best to read them first. This one, as are all of them, is a thrilling, fast paced romance with a lot of action (also in the bedroom). Very enjoyable.

Salem was an FBI agent but then her boss sent her to the Anchorage office after she got caught helping her friend Dani a detective with a case. She got attacked by two vampires which she got rid of one then special agent Christopher got rid of the other and then gave her a job with the Special Projects Unit within the FBI. She was sent to Kenia, Alaska with an orb, she could see a vampire through their glamour with the orb she realized she could find their nests. Was told to watch out for anyone claiming to be her mate, found a nest she went to see was fighting them when an artic wolf had been sent there who saved her. Cullen had been sent to that ghost town to find the vampire nest by Colby and found the woman he had been dreaming of. She really found out what the sphere was and only she could use it she agreed with Cullen to put a tracker on her because they realized that her boss was working with the shadow league ended destroying it so they couldn’t get her and the sphere. Good book!
This is the 6th book in the Otter Cove Shifters series and it is simply yet another winning read from the talented Author Delta James. She has refined her ability to write a truly entertaining and compelling story and overall series. I must admit the shifter trope was always a bit weird for me but over the number of books I have read I've come to discover it is one of my favourite genres in romance storytelling. Perhaps it is the sheer connection that the characters have to their 'shifter twin' that I find alluring?
I thought "Mystic Mate" was a really well devised plot filled nicely with action, drama, sense of conspiracy, fantastic chemistry between two incredibly sexy and desirable characters with a twist of a prophecy involving these characters.
From the moment you start reading you are simply carried away into this incredibly creative world of shifter romance storytelling and believe me once you read one story you will be hooked on wanting more from this Author.

Wow another fantastic book in this series that is exciting to read. Salem who is a regular FBI agent suddenly get attacked by something not quite human introducing get the paranormal world of vampires having to fight for her life. Another rights with her and suddenly she is transferred to Alaska if all places by her nasty boss. There she meets up with fate finding out more about paranormal world, meeting her fated Nate and finding out her ancestry isn't what she thought. Fast paced, action packed, exciting, suspense filled danger, spice, drama and so much more is packed in this story. U will be riveted to the pages seeing characters from Mystic River cross over into Otter Creek tying the resistance together against shadow league and evil. Richly detailed characters that come to life on the pages, loyalty, love, honour, family and so much more abound. A must read series ms James has a gift for weaving plots within plots that leave u desperate for more. I received an arc copy and this is my honest voluntary review.
Salem Hubbard is an FBI agent in Seattle that is transferred the Anchorage office after her despicable boss has been trying to het rid of her. After a night out with Dani and Warrick, Salem is two Vampire's. Salem is able to defend herself and gets offered a new job. Cullen Manchester is the Alpha of the Ghost Moon Pack. Cullen is an arctic wolf shifter and is immune to Vampire bites. When Colby calls and ask for him to check out a supposed Vampire settlement, Cullen is surprised to pick up his fated mates scent. Cullen and Salem fight off the Vampire attack and retreat. Once back home, Salem starts to suspect that someone at her job is working with the Shadow League. Reaching out to Cullen they team up to find out who is working with the Vampire's. As they dig deeper they uncover they are part of a prophecy that can tip the tides of the coming war. I am usually not a fan of Vampire genre but this twist was very intriguing and I cannot wait for the next installment.
My standard for Delta’s shifter books are always going to be based off of the Syndicate books. I absolutely loved those books. They were perfect. All of them. They had: billionaire MMC, very dominant, overprotective, BDSM (which I normally don’t tend to go for) SHIFTER ASPECT, I absolutely loved it when the characters would shift and go run around together and actually spend time as their shifted forms. I love that Delta is continuing to write about shifters, I just can’t lie ever since the syndicate, none of her books have been as good. I’m not saying the books are bad, it’s just for me personally they used to be 4-5 🌟 but now they tend to be 2 or 2.5 🌟 and I round my 2.5 up to 3 🌟 (this book)
So I’ll continue to read Delta’s books, I’m just hoping she’ll either continue with the syndicate serious (my literal dream) or maybe bring some of the elements from those books into these ones. Because those books were just incredible
I really enjoyed this book, all but chapter 2, the reason behind 4 stars instead of 5. I’ve never been a fan of reading about either of the main characters having sex with someone else, even if it was before they met. I really didn’t think I would like Cullen’s character at all when I read chapter 2, but his character throughout the rest of the book was almost like a different character than the initial introduction to him and I liked the character a lot. I loved Salem and her take charge FBI personality. Together they were a force to reckon with. Technically this book could be read as a standalone b/c it was Salem and Cullen’s full story, but the book continues the overarching storyline from the series and I would think a reader would be a bit lost if they weren’t reading the series in order. The suspense is getting so good, I highly recommend the whole series.
