Twenty years ago, my world revolved around Noah Anderson – a man born into privilege and prejudice. Back then, it was easy to believe that our love would last forever.
But Noah broke my heart into a million pieces with no explanation. One minute, we were crazy about each other, and the next, he was gone. He doesn't know it, but he left me with a big secret that I was forced to keep quiet about.
Two decades later, Noah unexpectedly reenters my world, blissfully unaware of the hole he left behind.
His return coincides with an "Urban Echo" concert, a band where our son Elijah, whom he doesn't know exists, is the guitarist. Mason, Noah's son, is a devoted fan of the band. Little does Mason realize that he shares a blood bond with Elijah, his favorite artist.
Seeing Noah again stirs a whirlwind of emotions – he still exudes that magnetic charm. He's seeking a second chance, but I can't help but harbor anger over how suddenly he vanished from my life. How am I going to reveal the truth to him? And will this revelation draw us closer or drive us further apart?
**** This is a standalone full-length BWWM Romance with a HEA. ****
The older you get you think I’m a single mom and it’s just me and my child. It’s great when your first true love comes back into your life. It’s also a plus when he’s your child’s dad. I have an older son by a different man, trust me he don’t need to come back into my life I’m good. Even my ex husband of my other 3 children who would love for me to take him back. On that note I’m really good, not even trying to go backwards. If someone new came into my life, I’m open to that, but if not I’m still good. This was a great read had me thinking though.
Noah and Kira story had me in my feelings!! But I love it!! 😍😍😍
I was so excited when I read the synopsis after this book was recommended to me by a friend. I'm very familiar with this author's work, so I knew this book would have me in my feelings. And it sure did!
Noah and Kira had a tumultuous past, to say the least. Their breakup left Kira broken and brokenhearted with an unborn baby on the way that Noah never knew about. Fast forward 20 years at Kira's son Elijah's band Urban Echo's concert, Kira meets a fan of the band by the name of Mason. But Kira's son finds out that Mason's father is her ex and her son's father Noah. From there is where this story takes you on a roller-coaster of a journey of bitterness, sadness, betrayal, enlightenment, forgiveness, love, happiness, and a dang fantastic HEA. This author once again came through with another amazing book. It was heartfelt, sexy, steamy, funny-sad but also freeing for all the main characters. My faves was the epilogue. A truly deserved HEA for Noah, Kira, Elijah, and Mason. I too highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.
For twenty years he despised her and as for her her sentiments were more complicated, you see, he dumped her cruelly with harsh words and no explanation. And the kicker she found out she was pregnant. Fast forward … 20 years they meet unexpectedly at a her son’s concert unbeknownst to him that Elijah is also his son , he came because his son Mason is a huge fan of the band. Secret has a way of coming out… see for yourself how the whole thing will unravel.
WOW! What a story and it's great with a powerful combination of secrets, excitement and romance plus expectations. This story will bring a smile to your face with lots of emotions. The characters are awesome and their passion burns up the pages with it's chemistry. There is a strong independent woman but you may not agree with her choices but it makes you cheer her on anyway. This story is a pleasurable experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's great to read and will make you turn every page until the end. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing and great together. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and sweet. Their attraction is so strong with each other. These relationship is loaded with romance and heartache that all works out for good! Even the secondary characters are so entertaining that it a beautiful story to read. It's emotional in nature I Highly Recommend Reading it.
This was a pleasant short read. I saw some reviews admonishing Kira for not telling Noah about his son. The author did their best to justify this. Noah's family was too powerful - she didn't know how to find him. I think these reasonings made sense. It was twenty years ago (early 2000's maybe?). Kira is a black girl dating a white man who comes from old money. iPhones weren't a thing - was FB? It made sense why she couldn't find him.
I did have an issue with how quickly everyone forgave and accepted each other. Okay, well, Elijah rigthfully gave Kira some grief. But honestly, this book isn't a deep dive in blended families, interacial couples, protecting family legacy's through morally grey actions, or lost loves. You get what you get. And what we got was good enough. I'm not sure if I'll continue this series, but I was glad to have read this book.
I'm don't understand why she couldn't tell him 20 years ago she was pregnant with his kid. Let's be honest lots of people don't stay together for whatever reason or another but to not tell them about their kid is bs. No matter how much of an ass Kira thought Noah was for breaking up with her gave her no right to keep his kid from him and then used hush money for his mom. Ok she was supposedly 22 and scared. What about when she established her business or when Elijah was 6, 8, 12. Why didn't she tell Noah then. I think Noah let Kira off the hook way to easy.
The heartbreak parents can caused by messing in their child life because they don’t like the person they wish to marry or just have a relationship. He stayed in marriage for nearly seventeen years not even being able to love her. What a tragedy. I am so glad he finally found his first love and a surprise also
I really liked this story. It was sensitive with a bit of heartache. There are several typos which made it difficult to read. I loved when Noah decided he won't be a push over and decided to stand up and be a man. Moreover, he realized not to jump to manufactured conclusions.
I was honestly pleasantly surprised. I thought that maybe I wouldn't enjoy the book for reasons unknown to me, honestly I hate the big miscommunication but in my mind it moved the book along. They did have one but in our interaction with them they had great communication and frankly I found it so refreshing! Very well done and I would recommend.
I was captivated by this love story. It was heartwarming to feel the love in this ragtag family. Inspite of bitterness and prejudice, love prevailed. I do not !know if I could be so forgiving. However, forgiveness and letting love in was just what these individuals needed.
Noah and Kira were drastically torn apart by lies from his parents that caused Noah to not know that they shared a son, Elijah. Mason wanted to see Elijah’s band preform and that led to them all ending up being a united happy family. I wanted to know did Noah’s brother accept Kira and Elijah and him getting to know them.
This was a good story. A little drama, where I tend to like more. This was slightly edgy, meaning they skated around the racism which was behind their turmoil. The writing was good, only a couple of grammar errors. I wavered between 3 or 4 stars, but like I said, this was a good “Second Chance at Love” story.
Not only was this story awesome, but I loved the names of the characters. My youngest son is named Elijah, and he's close to the same age as the young man in the story. I'm a teacher, and one of my student's is named Mason. The only part I didn't agree with was the name of the ex wife. I'm a nice Angela🤣🤣
I enjoyed the book . I liked that Elijah embraced Mason as his brother and was not resentful towards him . Kira and Noah worked out the misunderstanding and they moved on I would like to see what happens after they have the baby maybe sorry about Elijah and the band .
So glad they re-united with minimal drama. Still cannot believe ex wife wanted to get back together because the Grandfather mandated that it was a good image. Party of 5 HEA
I must admit I devoured this book in one sitting 😊 Loved the characters, with engrossing storytelling, it's nice that you have stories that have a more mature focused theme. I loved it 😍 and will be reading the other books in this series.
Surprising, I did not expect the story to be like this. Talk about taking the long way around. This is a good book some parts are upsetting. But the story gives you hope.
I enjoyed this storyline so much, it has a realistic feel to it 🤗. Lies, deception, conniving parents, a love never forgotten, and secrets 😲. It all comes full circle running into the past at a concert. Good read 😉.
I liked the idea behind the storyline but the book fell a little flat for me. It was ok but had too much repetitive backstory. It was also difficult to determine what Noah looked like as a detailed description of him was lacking.
I really liked the second chance story between Kira and Noah. How Noah’s mom change the course of this couple. This was an interesting storyline. I loved the family dynamics too
Drama, Angsty, and Romantic…. I felt the connection between Kira & Noah as I read. When there is lost but with deception and still the red thread of true love never breaks, I am a big fan 🥰🥰
Enjoyed this book, Maybe it's because it's more Around my age And seeing love again at midlife Is great.. My 1st read by this author will have to go back and start from book 1
Kira and Noah’s story was very touching. Meddling parents (his) interfered and twenty years later they meet again. He finds out he has a grown son and realizes he still loves her. In the end they have their HEA.
This is the first book that I have read by this author. It was great! It was better than I expected. I am surely going to read more books by this author!
