While semi-interesting with the cause of the rise & fall of Cisco & a list of Dividend Aristocrats which is an online list of companies that have raised their dividends at least 25 years in a row, the rest was very basic. Was disappointed that he never mentions (which no stockbroker ever does) that you can purchase stock directly from a company for little or no commission & same company will reinvest your dividends which gets you returns compounded. See Direct Stock Purchase Plan for companies that offer this feature.
Another great book, more historicallly based, upon the needs of the investory. History is an important quality for all those who desire to invest. The unfortunate truth is this...history does repeat itself, especially if you do not prepare yourself. Even in the investment realm. We tend to be in need of immediate gratification, but that is not the case for investments. We have a need to be careful, prudent, and purposeful in all our actions. The ability to be research conscious and long term minded!
Great book! I see why Trump recommended this book. Economic books are normally very dry and hard to get through for me. But this book simplified the stock market for me. (He wrote it big bird style for me) Invest in things you know and you already buy. You are already in the stock market because you are buying consumer goods and services. I actually loved this book. I didn’t feel overwhelmed about investing. I felt that anyone can do it even me!
A great book for people interested in learning more about investing fundamentals. Charles Payne does an excellent job of telling his own story and discussing the long term potential of disciplined investing. The fundamental story is sound, but it may get too deep at times for some readers. I especially liked his discussion of the big trends in the world today that will create major investing opportunities going.
