Professional hockey player Marcus Markington—Mark Mark to his fans—has dreamed of playing in the NHL since childhood, and has been raising his nephew with his parents’ help for the past few years. He’s at the top of his game and getting noticed when a clash with an aggressive defender results in a head injury and an encounter with Logan.
Logan Castro, EMT and huge hockey fan, is thrilled to meet one of his favorite players, but would rather have had it happen under better circumstances. After assisting Mark, he accepts a pair of tickets to a game as a thank-you for giving Mark a ride home from the hospital. He doesn’t realize his simple act of kindness could change everything. Logan not only gets to know Mark, but also his nephew, Timmy. Both of them work their way into his heart. As the two men grow closer and Logan’s need for a family of his own seems so close he can almost touch it, Mark’s playing turns red hot. Both men know that Mark’s dreams could put more distance between them than their new relationship can take, but risking their hearts could be the goal they score together.
Once again, Andrew Grey gives us a sweet and steamy romance that gives a first responder a chance to find his HEA with someone he meets on the job...
I truly enjoyed getting to know Logan and Marcus as individuals and watching them get closer. I also really appreciated the way Logan and Timmy get along and where the little family could go if they work out...
This was a quick and easy read and I highly recommend picking it up if you need a great way to spend a cozy afternoon.
A terrific short m/m romance ! Marcus/“Mark Mark,” a minor league hockey player, is the guardian of Timmy, 8, his nephew. They live with Mark’s folks, but he knows they’ll need their own place soon. Mark needed to pull over after the game, because his head hurt and his vision blurred, he called 911. Logan and Miguel answered the call on the roadside. Logan accepts the hockey tickets Mark offered, and the two men and Timmy end up together at the game. We get the guy’s conversations, and fun times together. They are attracted and know they want to make it work. Unfortunately, Mark’s Mom is a homophobe and makes trouble, but she doesn’t succeed in using Timmy against Mark. Our men know they have work challenges, especially after the big break. It’s a leap and the men will plan and hope to go forward. I liked the characters and Timmy is adorable. ENJOY !
I have read this book via Kindle Unlimited and this is my honest opinion of the book. After reading the first novella of the series, I had high hopes for the second short story. Unfortunately I found this novella frustratingly below expectations. The two main characters are not as well rounded as the previous book. It's stated that they have been together "a few weeks" yet they only get together on four occasions due to their work commitments and Mark's family issues. I'm then to believe that they were able to work through a long distance relationship? The whole premise of the plotline stretches incredulity to the point of becoming farcical. There seems to be a lot of plot holes that the author just glossed over, like when Mark is in another city, who looks after his son during the matches? If his son is ill during match night, what does Mark do? The author still plods on with an epilogue that makes everything good like some saccharin "Hallmark" movie. I'm not a fan of the "ice hockey" trope but I do enjoy the medical trope and seeing how often the author gets it wrong, which happens regularly. The author tries to create angst and tension with Mark's mother being more of a caricature. I do hope the author writes a third book in this series that follows Miguel's relationship. It would also be good to catch up with previous characters in the series. Overall I felt this book was an ok-ish read but it's easily forgettable and the plot holes are very derisive to the storyline. Saying that, I do hope people will read this book so they can make their own opinions.

Mark and Logan are super cute and super sweet and I enjoyed their story! This is a short and sweet story, but as usual with an Andrew Grey book it’s got a good amount feels packed into it!
Mark is a hockey player who takes a rough hit to the head during a game and feels the effects on his drive home. Lucky for him EMT Logan comes to his rescue and he just so happens to be a hockey, and Mark fan. There’s a definite connection between them right from the start and begin a friendship that quickly becomes more. Their connection feels natural and genuine right from the start but it doesn’t necessarily mean smooth sailing for them as they explore a relationship.
Mark is dad to his young nephew Timmy after his brother’s passing and while he has his parents there to support and help him his mom isn’t the most understanding when it comes to his life and she makes things difficult. Mark is also facing the possibility of a move if he gets called up to the NHL. He also knows that Logan is happy where he is and he’d be asking a lot of him if things continue between them.
I really liked the relationship that develops between Mark and Logan, they are so sweet together and they are such a good fit. Mark is so great with Timmy and Logan fits in so easily as well. There isn’t any drama between Mark and Logan, more figuring out challenges together, and I found that I liked that for them. I liked how their story came together and how they find their happiness together. It’s definitely a feel-good, heartwarming story!
The second book in the Carlisle Emergency series was really entertaining. It had all my favorite tropes wrapped up in a wonderful novella. I've read and enjoyed a few MM hockey romances. They all had one thing in common - they featured a player with a child. Well so does this story. And the kid is hilarious! He is a reason why the book is so good. The Papa is so proud and devoted to his kid.
Family drama is brewing within the three generation older Carlisle home. There's grief, guilt, anger, hockey memorabilia, disappointment, love, and the resounding laughter & dedication to caring for a rambunctious, always hungry growing boy. Whenever the subject of the custody of the eight year old or the fact that the hockey player is gay comes up tensions mount and sometimes boil over.
Being too busy to date has helped keep things cooled down but still remain simmering under the surface. Then another one of my favorite tropes comes into play a medical drama this one featuring a EMTs. Hockey can be a violent sport leading to some serious injuries. Concussions are not uncommon but scary none the less. Car technology and a magnetic mutual attraction bring together the story's MCs and those tensions bubbling to the surface. I highly recommend this second book in the Carlisle Emergency series. And if you enjoy hockey and medical romances this should be the next book you read.
Thoughts: This is a sweet, short novella about two men who find each other during a rough time for one of them. Mark is a hockey player who takes a hard hit to the head. On his way home, things go sideways and he ends up with a concussion. He manages to get to the side of the road and calls emergency. EMT Logan shows up and finds his favorite player in trouble. After the hospital, sparks fly between the two—even with Mark’s son in tow. But they have a lot of things to overcome, including the possibility of Mark moving due to his job.
There is some heat, lots of romance, and a happy for now ending that satisfies.
Recommended.

Mark is hockey player and after an injury Logan is called in to help. They hit it off which I loved so much. This is Insta love which I enjoy. Mark and Logan work with their schedules and lives to see each other which Logan knows includes Mark's son Timmy. Timmy is adorable so not confuse who Mark's brother who died was to him he calls him Papa.
Besides Mark's mom who annoyed me I loved the book. Logan and Mark's dad help him realize he can't hold back on his dreams when a great chance happens. Glad read this might been short but packed a lot in.
Am I the only one who thought Timmy was 4 or 5 years old? I mean, I know they said he was eight, but I just wasn't feeling it...
This read fast and I found myself skimming the smexy parts. Not sure why... but, I think it was because I just wasn't feeling the chemistry between Logan and Mark Mark? Please, don't make me read that name again... 😭😭😭
Sweet little story. They meet and are attracted to each other. Mark is raising his brother’s son, Logan is living life as an EMT. Logan helps Mark with an injury and the two become fast friends. As they grow closer they deal with some hostility from Mark’s mom but it works itself out.
Another tour-de-force, Andrew. Apparently, both Mark and Timmy are prone to accidents, which put them in touch with the paramedic Logan, and Logan and Mark begin to realize the love they have for each other. Mark's father is fine with this, and his mother eventually comes around, especially when Mark makes it to the NHL.
Great story, Marcus sufferers a head injury at a Hockey game and whilst driving home he blacks out. Logan is a paramedic and happens upon Marcus and they strike up a friendship then a sweet romance. I enjoyed this short story.
So delighted to get to know Logan, Mark and Mark’s bright son, Timmy. Enjoy the challenges of the emergencies, predicaments, and family drama as Mark and Logan fall in love!
This book is a sweet, quick read with two interesting main characters. Timmy was also a delightful addition. I definitely recommend it for those who enjoy cute pairings and funny children.
It makes the day end with a happy thought or starts the day with a smile! It doesn't matter if you find the One and a little one included, as long as you work it all out together. Mark, Timmy, and Logan did even though it wasn't easy. THANK YOU ANDREW! ENJOY!
Andrew comes through as always with a gentle story of the beginning of a new family. It just proves you have to work at any relationship. Don't miss it!
Oh no. First page says hockey game's fourth period. Did no hockey fan read this for edits? Epilogue felt like an HFN, which is rare with this author. The hockey was background only ant not super realistic, though only had the one gaff.
