This is an excellent book. it's main weakness is that it was published in 1978, and one would like to know what has been the subsequent history of death and injury and occupational disease. in the '70s there was a fairly vital movement around occupational health and safety and is this is when the various COSH groups were formed, and this book provides a good description of that movement. the book also is clear that disease, death and injury derive from lack of worker power over the work process and that this can ultimately only be solved by getting rid of capitalism.
