This is a book that is very touching. It reminds me of my teenage days wandering through a small out-of-the-way Christian bookshop in the town I grew up in. I've read some stories that are Christian romance fiction and enjoy the challenges people of faith face in daily life. This book is one of those.
Bethany Hamilton was well known for having survived a shark attack in Hawaii, that left her with one arm. This has not disadvantaged her at all. She became a surfer who travelled the surfing circuit.
She travels to Samoua to a Surfing camp, with her family, and meets some people who are caring and kind. She also meets an angry boy who is deliberately dropping in on her waves, ruining her smooth ride and potentially causing horrendous accidents. That's known to surfers as being 'Burned'.
Bethany fights off her anger and discovers the cause of Liam's anger. The result is a collaboration that helps disabled people learn to surf. It's very uplifting.
