At first, I thought this book was going to harp about the joys of housekeeping and how a woman should keep her place and submit. However, this was not the case. This book serves as an excellent guide for uprightness and good character. It discusses things such as housekeeping and a humble character in a woman as empowering and essential to not only herself, but to the people around her. The author’s views—on ambition especially—were very inspiring and introduced to me a less timid mindset that I personally found life-changing. I did not fully agree with one or two viewpoints the author had (specifically in the first few chapters), but this book is full of invaluable tidbits on how to lead a good Christian life. It broke down some of my mental prejudices and led me to realize how warped modern society has become and how it has negatively influenced so many people. I learned a lot from this book and it has strengthened my resolve to hold on to core truths that, although less popular, are as potent as ever and should remain so.

"Beautiful Girlhood" by Mabel Hale is such a wonderful read. I can see why other readers wish they had discovered it sooner. It's amazing how a book can offer guidance and inspiration to young girls and women. The short chapters make it easy to breeze through, it kept me hooked since I finished it in 4 days. I loved that the book is written from a Christian perspective, giving that devotional feel. It's like a timeless treasure that takes you back to the 1900s. The biblical references and stories add so much depth. Have you read the book of Esther? Her story is a great role model for young girls!
