Im one of those proclaimed COI defenders because i felt that from the jump people were being heavily unfair to lumian and were expecting him to make Klein type choices, I liked Lumian as a character himself, he might have been a pupet that could have been replaced by anyone at anytime but he still tried his best to choose his own fate “Who he is doesn’t matter” It could have been anyone in his situation right now. He isn’t special.

“What Matter is The Role I Play” The job is the main issue, nothing more nothing less. Anyone capable could and would have taken the role, willingly or not.

“But What I want to do matters just as much” I will still be my own person, regardless of whether the person Lumian Lee matters or not in this situation. I still make my decisions, I am still myself, My role in this world doesn’t define me. He might be a pre-built puppet of the gods, but that puppet has his own goals, life, and will decide his own ending.

Every event and the World building of Ruins had my mind blown and on the edge of my seat. Majority of things were unpredictable, from volume 1 with the Cordu Incident up to Volume 8 with the apocalyspe, I couldnt predict SHIT and Cuttlefish ATE.

4 stars because - The pacing, the damn pacing, that is the biggest bane of this novel. Some characters didnt live up to their potential, i was expecting more from characters like Anthony and I was ready to die on a hill for him being a Virtual Persona of Adam at some point especially since we knew very little about him.

I don't really have much to say, i don't like the current events nor the characters honestly, the only good parts were when the characters from the first book would be mentioned.. if feel like the author overlooked the role of a lot of the major characters from the first book.. it's not finished yet, right, though I'll just stop reading it, maybe once it's finished i might consider picking it up again.. maybe I'm being biased i don't know but i just want my Klein back :(

Good:
- Enjoyed the darker tone
- You warm up to the new main character, but it’s difficult to not start a little disoriented after lotm
- Still manages to have compelling conspiracies and mysteries even after all we learn in the first book
- The way different factions and characters weave together is great
- The climax and ending to every volume are still incredible

Bad:
- Some characters/places never got the chance to show their backstories or histories (but with a plot of this scale and such a large cast this is very understandable)
- Occasionally the prose can go down in quality, but this is almost certainly due to some poor translations (and idk if the version i read was wholly official)

Overall, although it doesn’t live up entirely to the standard set by lotm, it’s still a great read

4.5/5

2500 розділів занурення в абсолютно інший фантастичний світ. Почуваюся дивно, як під час різкого перепаду висоти. Це була чудово подож. Дякую авторові!

Circle of inevitability is a sequel to the famous Web novel "Lord of the Mysteries" aka LOTM. Its main genre is fantasy and mysteries. The author wrote it so that it can be read independently from LOTM.
The first 100 chapters seem boring but you have to stick with it. The plot twist after these 100 chapters will give you a mind-blowing shock and you will probably read the novel to the end.
While it is true that you can read this novel independently from LOTM but I would suggest that you read the prequel first so as to give you more details about the world, the major events and the characters.

wonna start saying I give ct a chance, I really really do.

My really low score is more about disappointment then else, lotm was just so epic soo having this as a sequel imo is a disgrace.

The only point that could be made that this was an improvement is character development. cf decided to have few characters but having more lore to them BUT taking account to what he did with them... it become pretty apparent that it was a waste of effort. everything else ? plain utter cope from fanboys that didn't understand why lotr was good.

i hoped for hundreds of chapter that this story would get finally back on track but unfortunately it never did.

this entire book we follow a new MC which just aint it. not cause he aint klein but just cause hes just awfully written. I don't want to go full in detail cause of spoilers but trust me on this.

the worst thing ? NOW cf decided to pretty much having only 1 pov and its this bad mc

the tarot club gathering ? forget about it. we only get 1 singular session in 1k chapter.

i Google for spoilers and pretty much everything I wanted to see aint there. cf didn't even manage to give a damn romance. there is s*x thats it. its like cf heard that people wanted a romance very much but instead he went nah uh and give one of the worst take a author could on the subject. its like he doesn't even get what romance is.

the scope of the story ? we went from the stars to the barns. its just soo unimportant you wouldn't believe it

but the most annoying thing is that it could have been soo much better. the best part of the story should have start from here.

i imagined a sequel where not only we get the tarot club gathering doing world changing missions but also a gods tier gathering with klein interacting with all the orthodox gods and preparing for the apocalypse. scheming to take down all the evil gods before they could ally with the outer gods. but no. we instead got an entire book about a side character doing side quest. what a disappointment

I decided to drop it after I discover that cf doesn't even want to make a part 3 AND if he will it will be once again a side story type of book. I really don't get him. after all the work he done this is the final product ? its evil af imo. I aint the type of dude to believe in conspiracy but if I heard that lotm was done by a ghost rider or this one I would believe it immediately. that's how bad this is. its waste of time bad.

if I were you I would just forget that this is out there and like me I would take the last chapter of side stories from lotm as a true ending. its just a better end for this opera.

I have too much to say about this book and I've done quite a large amount of Blabbering elsewhere but the author's afterword really did sum up what I felt about it, yeah it definitely had problems but honestly? There was so much thinking and logic behind most of this crazy worldbuilding, I respect cuttlefish for trying to write something so huge yet real.
This was such an amazing read, I put 5 months of this year into reading "lord of mysteries" (both books) and I will not say goodbye to this world any time soon. This is going to be a big brainrot and it's going to live in my head rent free for a long time probably.

While I still have a lot of issues with translation, book 2 was not a let down. It was able to reveal even more about an entirely new world than I was expecting considering how much book 1 has done already. The ending seems rushed and new concepts were seemingly pushed on readers with hardly any logic to them.

i just don't think anything can live up to LOTM tbh. i lost a lot of interest after the timeskip, and the last volume felt like a race to hit plot point after plot point. though after reading the author's afterword at the end, i do want to recognize what an incredible feat it is to have built on the world of LOTM without any plot holes or inconsistencies. amazing work cuttlefish

4 stars because Lumian felt like a Gary Stu at times, with little to no characterization besides his backstory. The books were good, and I don’t regret reading this. But pacing and lackluster MC give this 4 stars.
